Holiday apartment with private pool, À Côté du Château.

Wonderful hosts provide a very nice apartment! We were greeted immediately upon arrival. The apartment is beautifully decorated. A bottle of wine and water was already in the fridge for us The breakfast was very lovingly prepared on the terrace.

The kitchen was fully decked out with everything you could need: Sun cream, moisturiser, aftersun, shower gel… you name it… the apartment had it. The property was absolutely stunning, with gorgeous views of the river and outlook onto the pool and their garden. The interior style was gorgeous! We were attending a wedding and it was the perfect retreat for some rest and relaxation between events. The breakfast was lovely with fresh orange juice, meats and yoghurt outside with a stunning view. It was pristine and the bed was super comfy with two fans to keep you cool. We also enjoyed the use of the pool to ourselves and often walked into town for dinner as well as cooking in one evening. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it and go back!

Honeymoon stay, felt like luxury. Self contained apartment attached to a beautiful stone château, in a quiet riverside location, only minutes' walk from the town of Castillon. Approached via a tree lined driveway. Peaceful location. We spent days lounging by the château's heated pool and having our own lunch on the expansive patio area looking over the Dordogne river. The château's owners would provide us with a great continental breakfast each morning on the terrace: pastries from the boulangerie, bread, smoked fish, fruit and yoghurts. They were always available yet never intrusive. Interior was modern yet sympathetic to the stone house, with a great bed and bathroom and full kitchen-living area.

Fantastic. Great service. Hard to leave! The apartment/house was amazing, beautiful and recently remodeled. Everything worked perfectly. It is attached to the owners château but really independent. Bed was very comfortable, outlets next to bed on each side. Kay filled the kitchen with all we could need, though we did not cook. She thought of everything, water, wine, Nespresso pods. She served us breakfast on the terrace with fantastic view of the Dordogne river. Offered us her heated pool though we had to much to do around the area and little time. They generously open the garage so we could charge our car as well. Gave me good advise as to where to buy some spices I wanted to bring home to the US. The area is interesting, we toured around Saint-Émilion and Sarlat-la-Canéda, did some canoeing, our first ever and loved it. Plenty of restaurants cafes. Castillon itself is small but charming. The other places we stayed in the area on this trip were nice but did not compare with À Côté du Château. Just hope to go back one day.

We would highly recommend this apartment for a stay when visiting the Saint-Émilion region. We liked everything about our apartment in À Côté du Château. Our charming hosts whose recommendations on restaurants and area were excellent. The luxurious bed linen and the delicious fresh breakfast each morning overlooking the Dordogne was five star.
