We have just returned from our long drive back from Communes and would like to say what a absolutely wonderful property and fantastic hosts. Would recommend to anyone. Will start looking in diary for next year + to arrange another visit

Nice and clean house in a very quiet area. Each room has a bathroom, so it's perfect for several families. Beautiful and large fenced pool, ideal for children. The picnic table under the trees is great when it's hot. I would recommend the house to everyone.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay at your beautiful house. The weather wasn’t the best but just being here with the cows and enjoying all the little touches in the house was enough for us - oh and we still enjoyed the pool! We were also luck to see some shooting stars which was magical. We hope to come back.
We had a fantastic holiday at the property and to be quite honest, didn't want to leave. Glum faced we are looking back on our holiday snaps wishing we weren't back in the gloomy English weather, but sitting out on the glorious verandah! Your hospitality was second-to-none and the whole holiday faultless.
Thanks for a lovely two weeks here at Piglet. We have absolutely loved staying here. Thanks for such a warm welcome and the extra touches, too ! We've loved getting to know the village and will miss our café noisettes and glass of wine at the café. And the crepes and ice cream are fabulous. We stayed in Jean and Martin’s beautiful Gite over the recent May Bank Holiday and we were absolutely delighted with our stay in every way we could possibly be! The Gite itself is immaculately appointed; it is beautifully in character and so generously equipped with all one needs for a seamless and relaxing stay. The kitchen boasts a washing machine and dishwasher - really useful for a longer stay . Great outside area with a bbq and an extra outside kitchen area, sink and 2nd fridge. The outside dining terrace is so comfortable and looks out on a beautifully maintained garden area with pool , sun chairs and gazebo - so comfy and relaxing. The bathroom is a very good size with both bath and shower. Upstairs are two generously sized bedrooms - one double and then a twin room.. Although my husband and I travelled with friends on this occasion, it was very apparent that the Gite is beautifully family friendly ; a cot and high chairs are also provided . The surrounding area is stunning - a few minutes walk to the local shops and cafes. Not far at all by car from many local beautiful areas and restaurants. Jean and Martin are perfect hosts - we honestly couldn’t ask for more and we will definitely be returning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Périgord Castle. The castle is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The park is splendid. The countryside is very beautiful and very soothing. The pool is secured and well equipped. Perfect.
Beautiful location, spacious rooms with large estate and very friendly owners and staff. They do their utmost to make the stay perfect. Definitely recommended.
We swam in the pool every day - temperature 29°c - in January! We did indeed enjoy the 12 days with you, the house and the surroundings. Very invigorating for both of us and very enjoyable to meet you both.
Absolute Heaven. My family, fourteen of us from 70 to 1 year, had a memorable and joyful two weeks at Manoir Alvère. The house and grounds are magical. An easy walk takes you into the village and there are many very good places to eat within an easy drive. The owner made the process of checking in and out easy; the caretaker Georges was onsite in case of any problems. I envy anyone who finds themself in this very special place!
We have had a wonderful week at Château du Pic de Rigaud and enjoyed every minute! The weather has got better and better and we've had perfect days by the pool. The château has been incredibly comfortable and provided everything we needed. We have enjoyed exploring Najac including the Wednesday evening market. Thank you to Henrietta and Peter for all your help and bookings. We will miss this wonderful house and grounds and our morning walks to the Boulangerie. We hope to return.
Dear Gay and Richard thank you endlessly for sharing your beautiful house with us! Having stayed in many beautiful places it is safe to say this one has been the ultimate. Gutted to be writing this as it means goodbye but thankful to have discovered a mini paradise. Once again thank you. We hope to see you again.
Extremely comfortable and stylish accommodation in renovated old buildings. Beautiful pool area a short walk from self-catering accommodation. Very quiet, perfect for families and couples. A short walk to Montsoreau for morning baguette and a small grocery. This place has everything; comfortable beds, good Wi-Fi and kitchen facilities. Great location in the Loire Valley for sightseeing or relaxing beside the pool.
What a wonderful house. Superb vistas - just like a second home - we don't want to leave (which is why we are still here!). We've explored, swam all day in the pool, drunk many bottles of Rose and canoed. Thank you so much.
We had a wonderful time at Château Grandchamp de Chablis in Burgundy and will certainly be back. All details of both the house and the care of the guests are carefully thought through and attended to and we had the perfect combination of privacy and feeling attended to while there. The property is beautiful and the owners have wonderful taste. The grounds have a myriad of eating spots and activities including swimming pool, tennis, lovely walks and a feeling of privacy. The owners are gracious and eager to be sure you have the resources to make the most of your stay with their long experience and knowledge of the area. A special holiday to experience a French home of this level and explore the extensive area of Burgundy not far from Paris. A rare find indeed!
We have had a brilliant week in this glorious house. The kids have had the time of their lives in the swimming pool. We had a day in Périgueux and a few visits to Brantôme. We didn't need to venture for because the kids were so happy at home. We'll be back.

Château de la Ronde was fantastic, the family really enjoyed the holiday.
Beautiful cottage. After staying in Maison Meunier last year with the whole family, my wife and I returned this year. It is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and BBQ on the terrace. The pool is right beside the cottage and is immaculate. The owners are marvellous hosts and we are looking forward to returning again, next year, for another relaxing holiday.
Very beautiful villa with a spectacular view and a perfect swimming pool, water at 29/30 deg. Good balance in the volumes between the rooms. Complete kitchen equipment including BBQ.
