An amazing holiday at an amazing property. We are a family of 6 adults and 6 children and holidayed at Domaine de Nérige at the beginning of May. What a treat!!! Sandie and David were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make it a dream holiday. The house was vast so we could all have our own space and the pool was a real hit once we bought wetsuits for the kids. The terrace area was great with the BBQ and it was lovely to be able to eat outside. The house had everything we could have wished for. There was even a supply of wine and beer on hand in case we didn’t want to travel to the supermarkets. Sandie arranged treatments for us with two brilliant therapists and it was so relaxing. Sandie also cooked a meal on one of the nights and it was fabulous. We even got the recipes for the food we had chosen. Great area with lots to do. We all agreed we could never hope to better it. Thank you Sandie and David.
There were 6 of us, (3 couples) from USA who stayed a week last October at Château Picol. Laurence and Marian were absolutely wonderful hosts. They are warm and welcoming and made sure that everything in the château was comfortable. They arranged a wonderful wine tour, and were so helpful in answering any questions that we had about the surrounding area. One can easily walk to the nearby village or take a hike in the surrounding farm country and woods. We would definitely return to the lovely Château Picol.
Very warm welcome, thank you Sam! - a house well suited for 12 - we enjoyed the peace, the garden, the swimming pool. good sleep, a well-equipped kitchen, cleanliness. Address to recommend.
We had another lovely stay at dear Malardier. We will miss it next summer but return again to be sure.
We had a very successful week at Les Granels thank you. Everyone loved it.
We stayed at this beautiful place with 10 adults and one child. The house is large and magnificent with every comfort thought of. Beautifully decorated and everything of quality. The heated swimming pool was amazing. Jim was charming and helped us organise the stay and the housekeeper gave us a very warm welcome. We will definitely be coming back for future family reunions.
I wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you, we had a wonderful, relaxing week. The villa, garden and pool were all fabulous and we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The villa has been finished to a very nice standard and we would definitely like to go back and we will be recommending it to our family and friends.
If you’re looking for a beautiful respite from the everyday grind, look no further than Nerige. What a tranquil, pristine, and magical place. The Pyrenees mountains rise across the valleys of vineyards and the air is clear and crisp. The property itself is massive, yet so comfortable and cozy. The rooms are decorated with the highest quality linens and furniture. Sandie is a true old-school host. She greeted us in person, showed us all the highlights of the property, prepared an amazing meal for our arrival and stocked the pantry so we had breakfast in the morning. Traveling with 2 small children and 2 older parents... we were exhausted from our trip….and this was exactly what we needed! She also arranged for a wonderful massage therapist to come to Nérige the next morning to kick off our relaxation! This is how to travel and travel well. This is how to see the world. Don’t second guess this place. Book now before the whole world finds out about this magical gem!
We adore this house - it is our third visit this year! The atmosphere here is so conducive to being happy and relaxed. Les Baquiés are the most agreeable hosts in the world.
Fantastic holiday! The villa is wonderful and we loved the garden and pool - and everyone was so helpful. It's great that Pézenas is within walking distance, there's such a good atmosphere there at night.
We have had a wonderfully relaxing week in an idyllic location - thank you very much. C'est magnifique.
As the second week of our holidays it's been great to immediately relax in such lovely surroundings and le Tournesol has been amongst the best places we've found in France over the last couple of years. Richard and Meryl, you've created a wonderful retreat with all the little details we certainly appreciate. Sharp knives to make cooking a pleasure and a decent coffee machine! Sunday greeted us with the most spectacular lightening storm rumbling across the huge skies, but we've also enjoyed glorious sunny days and warm evenings. Perfect to enjoy with a bottle of wine... or two. Moissac and Laureate should be on everyone's visit list, both close and delightful to walk around. The cake must get a mention - delicious and very appreciated. As was dinner on our arrival and the great evening we had with our lovely hosts. Bourg de Visa is quiet but all life came out at the night market and the food and musical entertainment definitely a great surprise. We'll remember our time fondly. and if passing no the way it the NC500 Richard, let us know!
Another fantastic stay for the Hill family. Everything you could wish for and worth listening to the daily countdown from the grandchildren since we booked. Only problem is 2 weeks is not enough!
We have stayed in many wonderful houses in different parts of the world. Malardier is without doubt the most wonderful. Everything beautiful or useful (William Morris) mostly both. Having restored many houses ourselves we appreciate the enormous work involved. One forgets too easily the half built walls. What makes this house more special than most others is that it is a home. Every object has character and must carry a story. We were amazed at the gardens, how plants bloom in such a warm climate. We will no doubt remember different things, but all have lovely memories.
Swimming pool and area were kept clean and were well used (daily). The trampoline was an excellent addition for children. The toy room was very well stocked and used and all the cildren enjoyed the toys. We enjoyed some fabulous barbecues. the baby sitting service was a great bonus and the house in general was kept in top condition.
A massive thank you for such an amazing holiday. Such welcoming hosts, a beautiful location and all the amenities we could possibly need! We will be throughly recommending this gorgeous venue to any who will listen.
Lovely house, lovely location in an excellent location to enable us to revisit our favorite places in the area. Best restaurant for miles is La Maison in Tourbes. Many thanks.
Second stay in this magnificent house, it is still such an enchanting place. The nature of course is splendid but the interior space and the layout are really of high quality. The rooms are particularly spacious, the bedding is perfect, the decoration combines old and new in a very harmonious way. The common areas are very well appointed, special mention for the table football in a cool lounge which the children enjoyed. The kitchen is large and stocked with more than the basics. The swimming pool is completely secure with a very handy sliding opening system. We will come back with pleasure.
Weather lovely watching the house and surroundings. Trip to a little place 45 or so miles away called Coulon well worth a day out there. It was a very pretty riverside town where you could hire bikes, canoes or kayaks or take a leisurely stroll only the banks. Then enjoy refreshments at the riverside bars/restaurants while enjoying the sunshine and scenery. Will definitely visit again. Stayed here many times and never get tired as there is always somewhere new to go and explore (if you can bear ro tear yourself away from here). Thanks Anna and James for letting us use your beautiful house.
We had a fabulous time! Thanks so much for the wonderful hospitality. Your French home is just lovely - as was the delicious food and wine! See you both soon.
Couldn't have asked for more from La Barde or its owner. La Barde was tranquil, comfortable, and had everything you would need for a family holiday. The kitchen was so well equipped, it was amazing, the bedrooms were spacious, and beds comfy. Everywhere was decorated beautifully and furnished thoughtfully. There was so much space throughout the house and gardens that even as a large family you would be able to find a quiet spot for some peace. The pool had a great shallow area for the toddlers, the garden was great for exploring. We will be returning next year without a doubt! Thank you!
The château is very beautiful and the atmosphere with the people is really great. I am very happy to have stayed at a magnificent castle. A big thank you to the owner.
Stunning château in rural France. In August this year we made our 3rd visit to Château Velouse with a group of friends and once again had a wonderful time. The first time we flew to Paris and hired a car but found it more economical to take a ferry - crossing to Dieppe last year and Calais in August. Easy drive on all occasions. Location is in a beautiful rural area steeped in history and close to the Loire with its majestic châteaux and extensive forests. Medieval Bourge, only a few miles away, is very well worth several visits – the acoustics in the cathedral are amazing. The surrounding area is reasonably flat and so an ideal centre for cycling on very quiet roads and off road tracks. The communal areas and bedrooms in the château are impressive and very classy. The pool area is an ideal centre for complete relaxation. Pool is clean and well maintained. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly - very attentive to our needs and not obtrusive. Well worth a visit.
What an amazing holiday! We had a lovely week with wonderful weather. Thotoughly enjoyed the pool and struggled to get the children out of it. Had everything we needed and more, merci. We were very comfortable and relaxed. The boys loved playing in the garden and we would love to come back to this house and see Jean and Ian again. Thank you for an incredible week!
A week at the Mas de Pitou was blissful. The house was comfortable and included everything you would need for a relaxing stay. The view of the Alpilles, bright sunshine throughout the house and the fragrance of lavender and rosemary from the garden completed the picture. I will most definitely return to enjoy more exploring of the regions bounty in farmer's markets, Médiéval villages and stunning views.
We had high expectation of this holiday and were not disappointed. The property is a piece of history in an area steeped in the past. From the moment we arrived, greeted by a couple you seemed to have been friends with all your life, the stresses of every day life evaporated. We immediately felt at home and were very quickly making plans for our next visit. The cottage looks picture postcard from the outside and there really is no detail left undone. The inside has its historic charm in place but with all the amenities necessary so that you are not required to live the Médiéval lifestyle of many some other rural accommodation in France. The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated and there are large bathroom and shower facilities (upstairs and down). The private swimming pool is superb and was for our sole use. Its clear waters under pine trees and a blue sky were idyllic. It was difficult to tear my wife from the pool side. The cottage fits perfectly into an area of outstanding beauty where many of the sites we wished to visit were only minutes away. The owners were very welcoming and provided good advice on the places to visit but were not overwhelming so that you could always enjoy complete privacy. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot recommend it more highly. If you want to tour the area to see the 1,000 châteaux and the countless prehistoric sites in the area or just chill by the pool, this is the place for you. Thank you for a lovely week.
