Exceptional domain, I highly recommend! The rooms are very comfortable, the bedding is impeccable and the hosts are very welcoming. If you are looking to discover the Dordogne, its caves, its castles, its culinary specialties (delicious!), or if you simply want to relax in a haven of peace then Le Manoir de la Compagnie is the perfect place.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The house is magnificent and the children enjoyed the pool tremendously.

There is everything you need in the house, including BBQ lighters! It was like staying in a hotel with plush towels and soaps ready for us. Local auberge was very relaxing and served great food. Well worth a stay.
Sam's place was what we were looking for for a family with kids of 12 and 10 respectively. Accessibility of the Lot Valley and Dordogne meant there were plenty of options for outings and facilities to be explored and enjoyed for adults and kids alike. Very local night markets were also a highlight of our stay. The property was very well equipped with indoor games and with equipment to enjoy the outdoor spaces. It is exceedingly quiet and peaceful with few cars passing by which makes for a very relaxing and restful environment for time spent at the property. We left feeling very well refreshed.
We have enjoyed a tremendous week. The weather was fantastic and we made the most of the outdoor living. A few highlights for us: A fantastic meal at L’Effet Maison in Monflanquin. Great service and they were superb with the boys. Château Bonaguil (never found) was a big hit with the boys. It is a large castle and they loved running around and pretending to be knights. Much (much!) further afield, but we enjoyed Angoulême on the drive down from Calais – lots of amazing murals and graffiti. We hope to return to this great house!
The house is great, each room has its independence in terms of shower and toilet. It is very spacious and well furnished: a billiard table, table tennis, barbecue, overhead projector, enormous kitchen/bar very well equipped and swimming pool (unheated). The hostess is very nice.
Lovely place for us to spend a week. Villa Kali is very comfortable and well equipped.
It seems but a moment since we arrived two weeks ago, but we have had a lovely time. Thank you for your hospitality and wonderful company. What a pity we couldn’t come in June, but we are optimistic about next year. It feels much safer here in France than it does in England - we saw much more of Rieux than we have before, and have had some splendid meals. Our favourite is definitely l’Abbaye de Fontfroide, though Relais de Chantovent comes a close second. Until next June.
Our stay was perfect, the house was spotless, all the comforts we needed and everything was new. Eva advised us on lots of things, the contact was perfect, always attentive and caring. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
We have had a wonderful week, such a comfortable home with such a fabulous pool.
We really enjoyed our stay in your house and wished we could have had more time. We spent most of our time in the garden, under the oak tree or at the swimming pool. The evenings are absolutely marvellous with the typical Provence colours and smells. It must be a great place also to spend some time in the winter. At that time it will be probably more time spend inside the house which is beautiful as well and very nice decorated.

As our week draws to a close I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you both for another fabulous week staying in your lovely house. As with last year, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time, both chilling around the pool and house as well as exploring the local area - so many treats to be found.

It was a pleasure to meet you and I can only stand back and admire your dedication, determination and fortitude in creating your dream property which came through so clearly in our conversation on the final morning before we left. It was a good holiday... enjoyed by all... but without doubt the venue and host were the stars of the show and we are so pleased to have had this opportunity to spend time with you and discover the area. My wife and I have been visiting France for over 20 years and The Loft is the best property we have stayed at. The photographs on the website do not do it justice. Russell and Karen have fitted out The Loft with wonderful taste and all of the bathrooms are top quality including the selection of toiletries left for their guests to use. Their attention to detail is second to none. We received an extensive welcome pack when we arrived at the house and Karen even delivered fresh pastries for breakfast on the Sunday morning from the local Boulangerie. Outside the house there is a beautiful pool and garden but the jewel in the crown is the large sheltered "porch area". This is a half open and half covered space off the front of The Loft where you can choose sun or shade during the day. The BBQ is there along with a big dining table and also sofas for relaxing. It’s a fab place to eat and drink during the day or on an evening with a lovely view of the extensive gardens. Rieux Minervois is a nice little town situated in the middle of the Minervois wine region It has a good Italian restaurant within 2 minutes walk from the house, which Karen kindly booked it for us for the night we arrived. The food was very good. The town is also well placed to visit Carcassonne, Narbonne and several of the coastal towns; we particularly enjoyed Gruissan. It is also surrounded by many other small villages with excellent restaurants if you want enjoy a lazy lunch during your holiday. Karen will even book them for you if you ask. Overall we spent a lovely week in The Languedoc. Thank you Russell and Karen for your hospitality and for going to such lengths to make our holiday so memorable.
Dear owners of Le Grand Mas de Valcros. We have just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your home. From the pictures we knew it was going to be a nice villa. However when we walked in we realised it gem! There is really nothing we did not like about your house. Its feels like home to us after one week and it made our family vacation even more precious. We certainly hope to be back in the future!
