Location

The property is located in the heart of the charming town of Pézenas.

Pézenas is one of the most sought-after Languedoc towns between Montpellier and Carcassonne, 20 minutes from the Mediterranean coast.

Five minute walk to the historical living centre of Pézenas.

Pézenas prides itself on its past; reflected in its fascinating winding streets and period architecture. Often called the 'Versailles' of the Languedoc, summer visitors are treated to a feast of festivals, costume dramas, concerts and exhibitions.

Alternatively, take your pick from the numerous pavement cafés and watch the world drift slowly by before retiring to any one of the dozens of excellent, traditional restaurants. 4 supermarkets to choose from.

Don't miss the famous Saturday market that spills into the streets from daybreak and lasts all day. Discover the many artisan shops in the old quarter and the kilometer-long stretch of antique and bric-a-brac (brocante) stores.

Sunny, sandy Mediterranean beaches lie just 12 miles South of Pézenas. Beachfront cafés, seafood restaurants and all the glamour and glitz of summer in the South of France.

Marseillan Plage and Sérignan Plage for the quieter beaches, Cap d'Agde for all the entertainments, shopping and activities. Here you'll find golf, huge water park, 'Aqualand' (for both children and adults), water sports, boat trips, further restaurants and the Marine Aquarium.

Béziers and Montpellier offer excellent shopping and hypermarkets. Béziers has possibly the best flower market (Fridays) on the Mediterranean coast.

Discover the ocean of vineyards for superb wine-tasting or discover more about the famous Southern French aperitif 'pastis' at the Paul Ricard plant in Bessan. Alternatively, the Noilly Prat museum and guided tour of the factory is in Marseillan.

Superb hiking just miles from Pézenas on the Mourgettes footpath, or take a picnic to Lake Salagou for wonderful fresh-water swimming and water sports.

The Gorges d'Héric in the Languedoc National Park offers astounding scenery that will make you forget you are so close to the Mediterranean coast. Head East and don't miss the Pont du Gard on a day trip to Provence; Avignon, Arles and the pink flamingos and white horses in the Camargue. Head West to experience the giant and imposing fortified city of Carcassonne. Alternatively, the beautiful Côte Vermeille and its charming beaches in the shadow of the Pyrénées.

Customer Reviews [7]

Leslie, Anne, Harry and Lucy (Aug 2023)
We came on holiday with the sole intention of relaxing for a week and could not have done it in a nicer place. Everything about the house is wonderful, the decor and furnishings, the kitchen equipment, the outdoors. We have been renting houses in France for 20 years and have never had such a beautiful swimming pool. The proximity to Pézenas is a great benefit from buying early morning pastries to strolling the streets in the evening.
Thank you.

Bobby, Kirsty, Jack, Isla and Romy (Aug 2023)
We already knew we were coming to a very beautiful villa - nevertheless, we were speechless after seeing it in the flesh! The colours, the furniture, the paintings, the space indoors and outdoors - what an amazing project it has been for you both.
Then there's the holiday, strolling around Pézenas, Mèze beach, Marseillan, the wine festival and the lunch at Seigneurie de Peyrat Winery were amongst many highlights... I'm pretty sure we'll return again soon. (We always return to the best places).
Thank you for being such great hosts.

Kate, Lee, Enid, George and Lilith (Aug 2023)
Wonderful stay in a wonderful house with equally wonderful hosts. Everything was perfect for us, pool, pool, ping-pong, kitchen just great for cooking (super to be somewhere with actual shops!) and the loveliest nights' sleeps. ....... Feel completely relaxed and definitely don't want to leave and would love to return.
Diolch and Merci

Jackie, Andrew, Isabel and Emily (Aug 2023)
What an astonishingly beautiful house - the colours, the art, the attention to detail and the superb pool too! You have been the perfect, kind, friendly hosts, helping us with the info: we definitely want to come back next year!
We arrived frazzled and left relaxed, having done a lot of lounging, talking, reading, drawing, drinking and eating. The perfect holiday - thank you very much.

Ellie, Toby, Sam, Jessie and Rosie and Jack (July 2023)
Thank you so much for a beautiful week in your gorgeous jewel-box of a house. All your recommendations were tip-top (The vineyard pique-nique! The beach! The restaurants! and, of course, Café des Arts!) and we've so enjoyed relaxing in this oasis.

Glenn R. (Sept 2023).
We had a great time at the house. The big plus of the house for us was that it was within walking distance of plenty of shops/bars/restaurants.

Wagner, USA. July 23.
We spent two wonderful weeks at Maison Piscenoise in Pézenas. The house is an outstanding base for exploring Languedoc. The house has been beautifully restored and decorated by the delightful and friendly owners. Furnishings and fittings are comfortable and stylish. The kitchen has everything needed for preparing and serving meals indoors or out. It is set in a delightful garden with a sparkling swimming pool and comfortable lounge chairs and tables Although located in town all rooms face the garden giving the feeling of being in the country, yet it is conveniently located for everything you need without using a car. There are wonderful bakeries and a large supermarket less than 5 minutes walk from the house and the center of Pézenas with many shops, restaurants and the weekly street market are just a little farther away. There are many great outings that are a short drive – within an hour or less are nice sandy beaches on the Mediterranean, small to medium size towns and villages set in the hills and the offerings of a cosmopolitan city in Montpellier. This is truly a special oasis.
