Such a great place to stay. It's so peaceful, really well laid out and perfect for groups big or small. Close enough to the main town and well located for golf or wine country. Hosts were super helpful and welcoming and the house itself is gorgeous. Great pool, facilities and entertaining areas - we'll definitely be going back.
This is our second time coming to David and Kirstie's place to enjoy a long weekend with friends. Everything is always great. Excellent accommodation, top hosts, top-notch environment! Loved our stay and can only recommend 100%! We'll be back again, that's for sure.

This is my second visit to the beautiful ‘Rusty Shears gite’ hosted by Kirstie and Russell. From the outset our stay was just perfect. We were made very welcome and even had welcome drinks upon arrival. This was a special visit for my mums birthday and Kirstie even baked a cake, which was absolutely delicious. The gite is immaculately presented and the interior is simply gorgeous, with sumptuous cushions, uniquely bespoke painted furniture and house plants that compliment the gite’s luxurious eclectic style. The outside space is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to the nature that surrounds the outside space. They have thought of everything; an outside eating area, complete with overhead sails to stay in the shade, corner sofa area complete with parasol to stay in or out of the shade, a bbq area with small outside prep area, hot tub and even 4 sun loungers. The location is set in the countryside so expect to drive or cycle to the local vineyards and restaurants but rest assured Kirstie and Russell can recommend plenty of places of interest and even arrange cycle hire or restaurant bookings if preferred. All in all a really tranquil long weekend away that offered us plenty of tasty local food, vineyard visits, rest and relaxation in the sunshine. If you’re an animal lover then you’ll also appreciate Kirstie’s love of animals too and if you’re lucky you’ll get to taste a freshly laid egg from ’Cluckingham palace!’ A truly wonderful space and warm welcome that will encourage you to return. Exquisitely renovated French manor house. This house was exquisitely restored with close attention to period detail. It is perfectly curated and integrated with antique fixtures and objects d'art as well all the modern comforts you could want. The kitchen is one of the most well equipped I have ever stayed in so the owners must be cooks. There are lovely spots to sit throughout the gardens with comfortable furnishings. The house itself is perfect for large families or a selection of couples. The location is ideal for touring Chagny, Beaune and the rest of Burgundy. Sigrid was incredibly responsive, helpful, flexible and kind. I can not recommend the home and Sigrid highly enough. We had a completely charming and comfortable stay. Thank you again for sharing your lovely home.
Wow! What an amazing house in such a wonderful location! We've just come back from spending a week here and I was so sad to leave. The house is incredibly comfortable and beautifullt decorated. You really couldn't ask for a better location - the street is very peaceful (we didn't hear a thing, despite sitting out in the garden until late in the evening, every night) and yet you are in the centre of town within few minutes walk - we loved strolling into the main part of town for an ice cream in the day or a drink at night. Parking is easy; we didn't use the garage in the end despite having two cars between us. The pool is wonderful, especially when its really hot and the decked area and BBQ just make the garden a really relaxing, usable space to enjoy.
The villa was a great place to stay. We have been renting villas for nearly 20 years now and this is the first time ever that we didn't use a car. So near the airport, so near shops, restaurants, the sea, the train station for days out to Nice and Antibes. And the villa itself was lovely - it was more spacious than we expected. Moreover at 30 degrees the pool was marvellous. Only complaint - a week was too short!
We found the property by chance a few years ago and have been back twice since and will be returning with our 4 and 6 year old kids again this July! We have come to think of it as our French home away from home. The house is beautifully located and the interior and exterior space makes for a fabulous family vacation. The pool on the lower terrace gives enough separation that you can keep the kids safely away and the pool alarm adds that extra level of comfort. The owners continue to maintain and upgrade the property well and the new BBQ area on the terrace gets used daily for those lunch and evening meals overlooking the valley. The short stroll to town is easy and avoids having to worry about cars and parking, although a glass or two of Provence wine helps with the walk back up the hill afterwards which could be a challenge for those less mobile. Most hire cars will fit up the lane to the house (we had a Volvo C90 last year and were fine) but if you have a very large people carrier it can get a little narrow to maneuver round the corner at the bottom. The house is perfect for one or two families to enjoy a wonderful escape.
Wonderful time with the big family. The beautiful Château Velouse offers plenty of space for a large family or friends, with a great kitchen, a large dining room and a cozy living room. Almost each of the eight traditionally decorated bedrooms are having their own modern bathroom. The huge park is great for own dogs, which you can easy bring with you.
As you know we have stayed in your house twice. It really is an exceptional property and in terms of facilities, location and aesthetic qualities we could not fault it. The views are fantastic, the pool is perfect and the house itself brimming with character – not to mention that every lamp works, as do the showers and all utensils.
We have just spent an amazing fortnight at Maison Labarde in Lauzun hosted by Jean and Martyn. The gite is really well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and is cool inside, even in hot weather. Jean kindly provided many complementary extras for our arrival which was very much appreciated. A great outside kitchen with gas BBQ and additional fridge was perfect for outdoor dining and drinking! The pool was immaculate and cleaned daily by Martyn and there were various floats, water toys and inflatables available; the water temperature was just right- in fact it didn’t drop below 28 degrees for the whole fortnight. We enjoyed the extensive garden using the various seating areas available, all with parasols/ gazebo for shade if needed. It’s a lovely part of France with lots of Bastide towns to visit with markets, fetes and musical events in the summer months, as well as vineyards and châteaux for wine tastings at every turn!! Jean and Martyn were excellent hosts, friendly and informative about local events and places to visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this holiday gite and hope that we can return at some point in the future! Merci beaucoup!!
What a fabulous week! The open-plan ground floor was cool in the midday heat and comfortable in the evenings. Good sized dining space, lounge area and sunken kitchen with a large table. We had everything we needed. Upstairs the master bedroom was spacious and dual aspect with a large ensuite. The two twin rooms were comfortable and personal. Everything was spotlessly clean and in excellent condition, while still being welcoming and personal. The outside space was of an equally high standard. A patio area for dining al fresco, bbq and a beautiful pool area, set in an established garden of trees and shrubs. It was a perfect place to while away the day. The pool was a very comfortable 29 degrees c and maintained by the host, Debbie, so we didn't have to do any more than enjoy it! Debbie was an excellent and considerate host. We were greeted on arrival with cool drinks and a warm welcome and she was helpful and kind throughout the visit, arranging a few restaurant bookings and leaving gifts of fruit and vegetables from the property at our doorstep. Debbie was particularly lovely to our teenage daughter who was enamoured by the house cats. The surrounding area was beautiful, with lots to do and we loved every minute of exploring it, but it was always nice to come 'home' to Carcavi.
Your house is lovely and we all had a relaxing and enjoyable week. I think I can safely say that in all the years of hiring holiday accommodation in France we have not stayed in such a well appointed and well equipped property. Large family holiday, ages varying from 2-60. Beautiful house, great outdoor area with outside pergola and table plenty big enough to sit all 13 of us which was great. As in description location is very rural so definitely need cars - supermarket is 10 mins drive away. Estelle was very helpful leading up to our holiday, and during our stay. Answering all our questions and popped by to make sure we were happy with everything. Local area very pretty, but we stayed in August and everywhere was deserted! Apparently lots of places in France shut down in August. Very well equipped house for great holiday.

We had the most wonderful stay at the property. The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool amazing. Inside everything set up for comfortable stay for all - kids loved the hammocks! Thank you for making it so welcoming. I hope that we will be back very soon.

From the warm welcome that we received on arrival, to the thorough introduction into the Loft du Vigneron's facilities - which are considerable - and the wealth of advice on the local area, restaurants and places to visit, Karen and Russell did everything imaginable to ensure that we had a really memorable and relaxing holiday. Naturally, we are very sorry to be leaving this morning, but hope to have the good fortune to return again. Every good wish to you in your new venture, which we're sure will be as successful, if not more, than the Loft.
This villa is beautiful. We had an exceptional week. Very modern hyper equipped with a very tasteful, high-end decoration. We were charmed by the villa. The owners are very nice. Very well located 15 minutes walk from the most beautiful village in France. We are used to renting prestigious villas. This one is undoubtedly in its place on the podium. I would even say on the highest step taking into account the kindness of Karine and Éric, the owners. We highly recommend!

We booked for 3 weeks this past summer at the Maison Emz. It was a fantastic experience. Jacky and Anna are absolutely wonderful.
The house was very large for our couple but we'e enjoyed the space in the house and around the house. The pool is just perfect with its 16m you can really do a bit of exercise after having had too much food and wines. It was a very relaxing holiday and a nice region to discover.
We had a wonderful stay, the house is very large, designed perfectly, very comfortable and recommended for anyone who loves peace and quiet in a perfect setting. The local town Monsegur is a very short car ride away, or a 20 minute walk. A few lovely shops and restaurants welcome you here. If you love nature there are some excellent walks amongst the grapevines and natural walkways. Evening dining at the house is wonderful as there is a large outdoor space by the private pool. The pool is 10 mtrs and recently installed. Aircon to cool the bedrooms before bedtime makes for a comfortable nights sleep. We have holidayed in this area of France almost 20 times but this accommodation is the best that we have had. All together a perfect, luxurious place to stay, attention to detail here is excellent, Christophe is the perfect host.
