This mansion offers everything anyone could wish for. Spacious, large bedrooms, comfortable bathrooms and outdoors like a park. Lovely swimming pool with sun beds and a lunching area (at least, that’s how we used it. Every one of our group (including the kids) had a wonderful week, no exceptions. Contact with the owner was swift and pleasant and the property manager Caroline is a gem. We hope to be back some other time, but meanwhile we recommend this property to anyone who wants to have an excellent French experience. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for restoring this beautiful château, having impeccable taste and letting us share your wonderful home. It far exceeded our expectations! We came here for my 60th birthday and danced (in the hall!) till the small hours, played games in the pool, badminton at night, ate, drank and enjoyed the amazing homely atmosphere of this elegant place. It could not have been better!

We were looking for a relaxed holiday and certainly found it at your beautiful house. We have not travelled too far but enjoyed visits to Nîmes and several to the pretty town of Uzes returning late afternoon to relax on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful views. We would thoroughly recommend and hope to revisit in the future. We appreciated the quality and care taken to equip and renovate the house.
Perfect romantic getaway. Maison Meunier is set in the beautiful grounds, next to the old mill, overlooking the lake. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has its own patio and pool. The facilities are superb, the grounds are well manicured, lovely for walks and there is a fabulous games room where you can meet up with other guests for a drink and a chat and maybe a game of pool. A stroll into the village to sample the local fair is a must, the villagers made us very welcome. There are a number of local market towns (bastides) and châteaux close by including Monpazier a lively bastide with many shops and restaurants to enjoy. The owners were really helpful with advice on where to go and what to do, they couldn't do enough for us. Fabulous holiday.
We had a wonderful stay; the house is very well maintained, spacious and equipped with everything you need. Big garden with lovely swimming pool and stunning views on the vineyards; very peaceful and relaxing. We did a lot of hiking through the vineyards with a lot of different walks. The area has quite some old, nice historical villages, a lot of restaurants with good wines and delicious food. The owners were lovely, always helpful to give tips where to go but also allowing you all the freedom around the house when needed. Thank you for a beautiful, relaxing stay and the warm hospitality.
Very pleasant and restful stay for an extended family. My extended family and I stayed at Château Velouse for two weeks in August. It was a delightful time. The hosts are exceptional. We were treated to a warm welcome after arriving later than usual, after a long and tiring journey. All we needed for supper and the following day's breakfast was provided free and with no fuss. That set the tone for the rest of the stay. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly and helpful throughout our time there. Château Velouse easily absorbs a large number of people. High ceilings and wide hallways give a great sense of space. The rooms are large and comfortable. The ensuites are of a high standard and the grounds are magnificent. We all had a magical time. Our sincere thanks to Claire and Phil and Alex for all you did to make this post wedding get together a wonderful success.
Our stay at La Petite Maison Générille was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel instantly at home. The property itself is breathtaking - a perfect balance of elegance and nature. The beautifully maintained gardens, softly illuminated in the evenings, create a romantic and serene atmosphere, while the untouched woodland adds a sense of tranquility and adventure. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the luxurious accommodations to the stunning swimming pool overlooking the picturesque landscape. Whether we were exploring the nearby historic villages, indulging in the region’s incredible food and wine, or simply relaxing on the terrace, every moment felt special. An amazing house with the best swimming pool we have ever seen! 16 of us stayed in this lovely house for 2 weeks as we took the little gîte as well. We had a fabulous holiday. You have to drive up through fields of sunflowers to get there – a great welcome. We had loads of children but the pool is so big they spent the whole time doing acrobatics in it – and there was still room for us adults, when we managed to peel ourselves off the sun loungers. Evenings were spent playing tennis on the courts in the house grounds, BBQs, or local restaurants.
We have had a very relaxing and restful week here, with perfect weather. We loved the pool, playing table tennis and darts. The house has everything you could need and we have enjoyed having so much space inside and out! The surrounding area has lots to offer – Chauvigny is beautiful (we recommend The VeloRail) and we spent a wonderful afternoon kayaking at Angles sur L’Anglin.
We were able to have a great week with friends at this house, which matched the photos perfectly. The host is very accommodating and accommodating. Amenities are complete, different living spaces are spacious, the pool area is a real plus. I'd recommend it!
It was lovely to come back to another warm welcome at the beautiful Loft - we have had a wonderful time as always!

I just wanted to say what a fantastic time we all had at Maison Semoussac. Everything we could have asked for was catered for and we all had a wonderful time from the grandmothers to the youngest child. The house is beautiful and the views and surrounding area are also. We found the locals very friendly and accommodating and loved visiting the patisserie each morning for fresh bread and croissants. The weather was extremely hot but even this did not create any problems as the children either played in the shepherd's hut, the play room or back at the house to cool off although they did spend a huge amount of time in the pool! I even managed a run along the footpaths while it was slightly cooler past the beautiful sunflower fields.
We highly recommend Maison Four à Chaux, we had a great holiday in this amazing property which was clean, very comfortable and very spacious inside and out. Lovely large heated pool and an excellent games barn which included skittles alley and table tennis. We were greeted by Yvonne who was great and very knowledgeable of the local area and was easily contactable (as were the owners) if there was any issues (which there weren't). We would definitely recommend Maison Four à Chaux.
We chose this property because of the pool and the outside space and we were not disappointed. It is such a glorious place and it made our holiday so special. It is all so well looked after and the owners have thought of so many things. You can tell they are very proud of it. We loved using the coffee machine and the homemade jam was delicious. We loved our evening BBQ's on the terrace under the canopy, but jumping and playing in the pool was the best. Memories made for a lifetime. Merci beaucoup.
Great feeling of space with plenty of room for children to play. Pool was superb and much used. The childrens swimming skills improved immensely. Thank you Takayla for lovely food and for accommodating late arrival and intolerances. Nick and Takayla were available and friendly without being intrusive. If you are looking for calm in a peaceful environment, Le Mas de Combet is for that! it is very well equipped, nothing missing! a huge and well maintained lot with this very friendly view of a small lake and the forest . the terrace with its large pergola is ideal for resting or having a drink . we enjoyed the large swimming pool with its summer kitchen. hosts are exceptionally kind and welcoming . we recommend without hesitation.
Exceptional domain, I highly recommend! The rooms are very comfortable, the bedding is impeccable and the hosts are very welcoming. If you are looking to discover the Dordogne, its caves, its castles, its culinary specialties (delicious!), or if you simply want to relax in a haven of peace then Le Manoir de la Compagnie is the perfect place.
Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing and comfortable holiday at Mas Saint-Martial! We are a family of four with teenagers (plus a dog) and we spent 2 fabulous weeks at the house. The pool was a stand-out highlight – heated, salt water and fully gated for safety – fantastic family times and memories created playing games. The boules pitch, badminton court and BBQ were also great ways to entertain ourselves. The owners live part of the year in the house next door and are extremely responsive, supportive and welcoming whilst also giving you enough ‘space’ to enjoy the seclusion and peace. In terms of restaurants, there are plenty of very reasonably priced places within easy driving distance – there are plenty of great places to visit too – Aubeterre (with a 9 hole golf range) and Brantôme were highlights for us. We even walked to the local 5 course lunch place at Chez Moran which was amazing and cheap! Their occasional night time events with music and the fish and chip van are great fun. A real gem of a place. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time at Château Grandchamp de Chablis in Burgundy and will certainly be back. All details of both the house and the care of the guests are carefully thought through and attended to and we had the perfect combination of privacy and feeling attended to while there. The property is beautiful and the owners have wonderful taste. The grounds have a myriad of eating spots and activities including swimming pool, tennis, lovely walks and a feeling of privacy. The owners are gracious and eager to be sure you have the resources to make the most of your stay with their long experience and knowledge of the area. A special holiday to experience a French home of this level and explore the extensive area of Burgundy not far from Paris. A rare find indeed!
