Great feeling of space with plenty of room for children to play. Pool was superb and much used. The childrens swimming skills improved immensely. Thank you Takayla for lovely food and for accommodating late arrival and intolerances. Nick and Takayla were available and friendly without being intrusive. A fantastic time was had by all the family. Many thanks and looking forward to next year already.
Wow! what a start to the summer. Very hot, lovely weather, plums aplenty (from garden trees), walks to Eglise de Senezelles, daily visits to the bakery in Cancon, fab Monday markets, much swimming, pool/snooker, BBQs, card games, a very dramatic thunder storm and 18 wonderful books (from the Bosc Grand shelves) read collectively. The stuff of family holiday dreams. We hope to be back!
We, grandparents, parents and our little daughter, spent two fantastic weeks in this wonderful villa in Fréjus. The villa offers plenty of room for a bigger family. You can find everything you need for a pleasant stay. It's fully furnished. lovely decorated and well appointed with kitchenware and with everything you might need. There is a lushy, well maintained garden with a swimming pool and plenty of sunbeds. We loved our stay there with the beautiful view over Fréjus to the sea. We can recommend this villa to everyone looking for a peaceful, quite summer vacation. The owners are as well extremely friendly and helpful.
Wonderful family holiday We had a wonderful week staying at Manoir de Saux, spent mostly by or in the beautiful pool or on the tennis court! Occasionally we would tear ourselves away from this idyll to wander through pretty fortified towns, to have a delicious local lunch and to taste wine. We all particularly liked Cahors. The house itself was very comfortable, had everything we needed and the kids couldn't have been happier. Highly recommended!
We had two gorgoeus weeks in this fabulous farmhouse. The house is large and spacious with everything you would need. The hosts were so wonderful and made us fell very welcome - nothing was too much trouble! There is plenty to do in the surrounding area - lots of wonderful towns to explore, canoeing, swimming in the lakes and lovely walks. We were two families with 5 teenagers. We all agreed that we would happily go back!
This is our 7th visit to the Dordogne and at least the 6th rental at "Cordeliers" Thank you Jackie and Geoff for buying this property and continuing to allow lucky people like us to stay here. We always love a long lunch at Le Vieux Logis in Trémolat, lovely drive. We stopped at Limeuil on the confluence of the Vézère Dordogne rivers to see another lovely village with a stony beach. Book a table under the plane trees in the garden, easy to book as all the reception staff speak English. This trip we visited the gardens of Eyrignac which we saw 20 years ago-much changed and lovely but Marqueyssac are still our favourite gardens with its cliff top views to Castelnaud, Beynac, Fayrac châteaux and the town of La Roque Gageac. Don't miss Lascaux IV, book online - this time we did it last minute and got in at 3.30pm English tour, great for all ages, especially the children as they get their own laptop! Buy your foie gras and confit of duck at the E Le Clerc supermarket - much cheaper and great quality, rather than paying extortionate prices in Sarlat. A lovely drive if you are interested in Bastide towns is to start in Belvès, worth a quick look for its 11th century centre and 15th covered market. Then onto Monpazier, Biron, Château Biron and finally Monflanquin, a great place for lunch (park at the top of the hill next to Église St André). Of course Rocamadour and Padirac caves are another must and if you feel like a big day out add Colonges La Rouge to the itinerary. When visiting Rocamadour, enter from the top, drive past all the parking costing 5euro or so and head to the well signposted "Le Chateau" parking which has 500 places and is free. Take the lift "Ascenseur" down into the town, buy the more expensive ticket to go all the way to the bottom of Rocamadour town, see the Sanctuaries, churches, walk up into town. Afterwards take the lift back up to the car and walk to the Ramparts. MARKET DAYS: Monday: Beynac, Les Eyzies (small one on the river) Tuesday: Le Bugue - highly recommend Wednesday: Sarlat and Saint-Cyprien Thursday: Domme and Monpazier Friday: La Roque-Gageac Saturday: Sarlat Sunday: Carnac, Limeuil and Saint-Cyprien (highly recommended) On Wednesday evenings from late June to mid August Belvès has a night food stall market which is fun, bring your own cutlery, glasses and nice plates if you don't want to eat off paper. Wine shop - an excellent wine shop, no more expensive than the supermarkets with great advice from English speakers is in Les Eyzies - Vin Blanc Rouge, 3 Ave de la Préhistoire.

Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing stay. We know the area well but usually stay in more rural areas. What we absolutely loved most was being able to stay so close to the incredibly beautiful town of Sarlat whilst having the feeling of being completely remote! The wonderfully enclosed garden and pool gave us a rural vibe with all the benefits of being able to walk to amazing restaurants every evening. Your villa definitely provided the best of both worlds for us and we will definitely be back.
What a FABULOUS holiday we have all had in this beautiful charming Chateaux. Paul, Julie/Steven our hosts were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. A memorable holiday we shall certainly be back as well as recommend to all our friends. Thank you.
In June, we stayed for a fortnight at L'Oliveraie. In the middle of the vineyards. Plenty of peace, space and beautiful views. The pool is great and beautiful views there too.

Fabulous house, beautifully decorated with everything we could possibly need for a lovely holiday. The pool and pool toys were a great hit with our 4 year old. We have holidayed numerous times in France and this was by far the best, from the welcoming email to the comfy beds and linen. Mark and Janet have made this a beautiful holiday home. We had a hot week and made the most of being at home! Thank you for a lovely stay! P.S. The Tuesday night market in Laparade was fun and definitely worth a visit! Our daughter loved her bedroom + the toys kept her occupied in the morning!

Both (the house and grounds) are absolutely beautiful and fantastic for parents and children alike. Despite a lot of activities in and around the area, we chose to stay 'in' more than we had expected because of how good the house and grounds were. We had a wonderful stay at Manoir de Fouilloux, my retired parents and children aged 8 and 11 had a truly relaxing stay with plenty to see and do locally. The house had plenty of space inside and lots of different areas outside to eat and relax. In particular we enjoyed spending time outside in the Moroccan terrace and kitchen and especially the evening when Ian and Hugh cooked for us when we took advantage of this as an extra option. Ian and Hugh were super helpful informing us of the local area which suited all ages so there was plenty to do for everyone. I would recommend hiring a car to explore the beautiful villages. The pool was well used in such hot weather with plenty of space for us all to relax and read as well as splash about with the children. The area was lovely and quiet so we were all able to switch off and spend quality time together as a family, plus with Ian and Hugh nearby we felt we had our own personal concierge service! They also provide a very useful guide which is in the house and also sent before our arrival. There has been so much attention to detail carried out in and outside the house and Ian and Hugh were fantastic with our many questions we had as we loved hearing about the work that went into it. We absolutely loved our time there and our 8 year old is now asking for a dog the same as Oscar! Thank you to Ian and Hugh for giving us such a memorable holiday, we felt truly spoilt staying in such a beautiful and well refurbished traditional house and can't wait to return one day!
A more tranquil spot in France you will not find. The house has 360-degree views across stunning French countryside that rolls and undulates towards a backdrop of the Pyrenees. It feels like you're a million miles from the stresses and strains of modern life, another world and yet within 20 minutes drive you can be in a huge supermarket that will cater for all your needs. The house itself is incredibly comfortable, with all mod cons. It sleeps 14 people in great comfort, including in two well-appointed cottages in the grounds. And yet it retains its cosy feel. Some days we lazed by the pool and ate our meals on one of the terraces, other days – when it was cooler - we lit the fire and settled in. It's genuinely as comfy inside as it is outside, which is not always the case in French holiday lets. Our young children were in heaven. When not swimming or playing tennis, they roamed the five acres of immaculately kept grounds, building camps, rowing on the small lake. There's snooker croquet and table tennis too, if it's wet. And then of course there is the party room. Set well away from the grown-up bedrooms, the party room has a bar, DJ–quality speaker system and a proper disco – glitter ball, lights and all. Incredible fun. You really won't want to leave the château and grounds at all – it's a self-contained little hill-top world - but if you do have itchy feet then there are lots of walks nearby, or you can visit one of the many beautiful French towns nearby (Mirepoix market is a must). I cannot wait to return.
This is an ideal holiday home if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are no other houses nearby, yet you are only a 10 minute drive from the nearby Bastide of Monpazier and larger town of Villareal, where there are shops, restaurants, markets etc. The pool is a good size and well maintained and the house is very well equipped. We have been coming to France for over 10 years and this is the only property which has enticed us back for 2 years running.
Thank you for an unforgettable week! The house and gardens have been a dream. We have been blessed with amazing weather and the pool has made the holiday for the children. We hope to stay again in the near future to explore the area more and leave for home all feeling re-charged and re-energised. Thank you so much for such a warm welcome.
Fabulous house on the edge of the village with magical views and absolute peace and privacy. We were thrilled to see so much wildlife, so many wonderful birds, butterflies, red squirrel and deer around the house. We flew into Limoges which is a tiny and very easy airport to manage. Car hire is just outside the exit, the roads are blissfully empty and the drive to Lusignac was a pleasure. We couldn't have had a better week.
What a terrific home to say in. Totally relaxing with so much thought given to every detail. We really loved the tour of all the buildings and we look forward to visiting again to see the developments. Its a glorious place, we loved it here, such a relaxing, comfortable and interesting place to be staying. Its been a privilege to stay in your home. What an amazing week in a stunning home. The house is exquisitely designed and the attention to detail is fantastic. The views are beautiful and the area so quiet and peaceful. I slept in one of the bedrooms on the ground floor and had the best night's sleep I've had for years… the mattress is heavenly. Not many people can lie in bed watching red squirrels leaping through the surrounding trees can they! The small kitchen area on the ground floor along with the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms means the whole floor can be very separate and quiet if two families were to share the house. The middle floor is a great entertaining space with a spotless and very modern kitchen with dining / living area leading out to the garden and pool. It was a real treat to have the local bar / restaurant within a short walking distance. It's very easy to sit and enjoy the local wine! The one thing I hadn't bargained for was the abundance of wildlife, although with the roads being so quiet I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised. The red squirrels and deer can be seen from the balconies and fantastic infinity pool overlooking the valley. The cushions for the outdoor furniture are very comfy. Once again, there are various areas to sit / eat and enjoy the garden if different age groups or families stay here. So to sum it all up…a fab holiday home in beautiful surroundings – 10 / 10. PS If you attempt the puzzle in the games cupboard… start it as soon as you arrive because it's tricky but irresistible!
A very well located and easily reachable and comfortable villa, close to Cannes, the beaches and the mountains. Quiet area, large pool and nice gym.
Absolutely gorgeous house. Périgueux and Saint-Émilion were both charming - wonderful food, too. Weather has been idyllic and the swimming pool and loungers were a perfect way to relax. We will greatly miss this house and take with us very happy memories of our holiday here.
