A perfect villa with a perfect property manager. We are six retired Americans who travel together often. The property manager is most responsive we have dealt with. If messaged at a reasonable hour she respond in minutes. Now add to that a wonderful modernised property in a wonderful location and you get what we got, a perfect vacation. The property manager arranged a driver and a cook and both were outstanding. The property has stunning views and easy access to rail, within walking distance of fine restaurants and the privacy all renters seek. If you are visiting the south of France and you want to be a short distance from all things and a short train ride to Cannes and Nice, you cannot do better than this property and you will not find a better property manager. If we could give more than 5 stars we would.
A perfect place for a family stay. A large well equipped property that is decorated with great taste. There is something for all generations both inside and out including indoor and outdoor games for children. A great television room with a large choice of DVDs for both children and adults. Magnificent garden – great for aperitifs and barbeques and a beautiful swimming pool. The house was immaculate when we arrived. Our visit was unforgettable and we will certainly be coming back.
We've had a fabulous week in this gem of a villa. It's so homely and peaceful here. It's lovely to come back to at the end of the day. A perfect venue for an 80th birthday celebration!
A rental that keeps its promises: the place is charming, the house pleasant and clean, the equipment very complete, the swimming pool with a magnificent view of the Dordogne. We received a very warm welcome and particularly appreciated the welcome basket. The geographical location is ideal for visiting from Sarlat to Bergerac and exploring the Dordogne valley with its magnificent castles, bastides and vineyards. We really liked your house (nothing disappointed us) and we will keep fond memories of this stay. The setting, the decor and the equipment make it a particularly appreciable place to stay.

We have had a fabulous time at Villa Baleyssagues. The house itself is beautiful, just as advertised but in reality far much better and exceeded our expectations. We have spend mots days by the pool and in the pool, having experienced great weather, taking full advantage of the equipment and facilities available to us at the Villa. The surroundings and grounds are stunning providing us a relaxing and peaceful . We are very sad to be leaving after a very memorable and enjoyable holiday. We will definitely looking to book an other holiday here as soon as we can.
A perfect welcome. A dream stay in a cottage. The teenagers have spent the most of their time in the pool. A stay that will stay for a long time in our memories.
My wife and I, along with our eldest granddaughter, spent a truly memorable week at Maison Baleyssagues. For an introduction to the region of unspoilt bastide towns of upper Lot-et Garonne, eastern Gironde and Dordogne, Villa Baleyssagues provides a superb base. It commands a beautiful panoramic view of the open countryside in all directions, which includes the extraordinary Château de Duras, itself an unmissable example of national, regional and local dedication to conservation of cultural heritage. Celebrated names like Saint Emilion, Bergerac, Sarlat-la-Canéda and Bordeaux, itself, also feature in a list of must-see’s offering a variety of attractions for every taste – and all within manageable reach. (Speaking of taste, do not miss le Pain de maïs at the boulangerie in Duras. It is to die for, easy to cut into toast-able slices and retains its moistness for a week.) (Frederic will vouch for this.) We cannot praise the villa without including its Property Manager, Frederic Guiraud, most welcoming and helpful and always available at request on short notice. His welcome pack is the most thoughtful and generous we have ever encountered over many years of villa rentals in France. He has managed to compile a bound guide book featuring excellent introductions and practical visitor information on a multitude of towns and notable sites throughout the region. It obviously reflects considerable work and must be the most comprehensive visitor guide we have experienced anywhere. As for the villa, itself, it does justice to all the pictures you will have seen in the property listing. We found it impeccably clean and in excellent repair. We thoroughly enjoyed eating outside on the terraces, luxuriating and playing in and by the pool and feasting on the views, especially in the evenings after a busy day of touring. The beautifully tuned piano must also be mentioned for those who enjoy playing on a fine instrument or just gently tinkling for leisurely entertainment.
We enjoyed a very happy week at the villa. The only problem was that the villa is so nice that most of our plans for getting out and about were abandoned! We loved the privacy of the garden and pool area.
Thanks to Marie-Christine and Olivier for their kindness, their availability and their excellent advice! The villa lives up to the photos and description and the location, in the heights of Saint-Raphaël, allows you to avoid the traffic down there! We recommend because we had a vacation as we hoped!

It was a wonderful property to stay in – everyone who stayed with us were very impressed by the house. It’s a lovely town too. The management people in Pézenas for this property were very helpful too. We are in the UK now and are missing the south of France weather.
What an amazing chateau you have, breathtaking; everything that we needed and more. We have enjoyed 1 wonderful week, wish it could have been more. Julie, Paul and Steven - you have been fantastic, always on hand for advice and support and ideas. Especially enjoyed our ‘feast’ in the Dining Room celebrating Alan’s 70th birthday with laughter and some lovely memories that will stay with us all forever. We had all looked forward to staying at La Barde just from its location and seeing the lovely pics and the reality was still better and just perfect for two families of five. There's a wonderful secret garden feel and we were surrounded with the best of early summer in the garden. The house has a lovely laid-back, stylish vibe with a huge kitchen, spacious bedrooms and a large comfy sitting room we never needed to use. The shady terrace outside the kitchen with roses and jasmine and every possible seating and lazing opportunity was the centre of 'activities' and wonderful for every meal. Early morning swims with the scent of jasmine and lavender were a particular treat and there were endless pingpong, badminton (and tanning) challenges. La Barde is perfectly positioned for enjoying local life from markets to canoeing and Périgueux is just an hour away. We loved the Lusignac bar. You won't be surprised to read that we are returning this year!

We had the best time in this gorgeous house! We ate so many pain au chocolat but made up for it with lots of games of tennis, volleyball and badminton! Thank you so much!
We have had an amazing time and are very sad to have to leave! We have loved our time lazing by the pool and leaving all the stresses of our normal lives far behind. The owners have been perfect hosts. and the house has had everything that we needed. We really enjoyed visiting this part of France for the first time and would recommend all the beautiful Bastide villages. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can come back!

I had the most amazing time with my friends at this gorgeous château! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, like out of a movie. The château itself is enchanting while still being super comfortable. We had a great time checking out the local towns and markets. Just such a wonderful experience, I highly recommend it!
Spent a lovely week here, Lived up to all our expectations. Wonderful setting with splendid views. Plenty of room to seat all of us for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in the sun or shade. The house wanted for nothing.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the markets, the wine and the village we visited and walks. The weather has been lovely and hot. It was wonderful to return each day to such a lovely and very well appointed and equipped house and gardens. One of us really appreciated the pool.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Orchard Farmhouse and would have no problem recommending this beautiful house to friends and family. We liked eating on the terrace admiring the spectacular view of the Dordogne landscape. Great facilities for the children, especially in the games room. Thank you for letting us stay in such a gorgeous place. We ate lots of cheese, lots of figs and lots of mulberries. We made good use of the BBQ and the pool. Made several trips to Carcassonne and Olonzac.
