Your phenomenal standards of taste, quality and style are equally matched by your meticulous understanding of your holiday guests' practical needs during their stay. We have experienced self-catering holidays in many areas of France for some four decades and, without doubt, you are in a premier league of your own! The warmth of your welcome and hospitality have all combined to create for us a truly wonderful holiday and Minervois experience. Fabulously 'well done' to both of you - and 'thank you!' We have just enjoyed one of our best holidays ever and your outstanding charm and conviviality have contributed so much. This beautifully maintained property is less than two hours outside of Paris. We never wanted to leave the grounds, there is everything to keep the kids happy: miles to run, pool, tennis and playhouse. We adults lazed all day by the pool while the children run happy and wild on the enclosed grounds. The owner gave us wonderful recommendations for off the beaten path wine tastings. Make sure she shows you the mill across the stream where they make the best croissants and bread. The layout of the château allows for several families to enjoy a vacation together, while maintaining peaceful, private moments. Best family vacation ever.

Such an amazing experience! We had an amazing experience at Les Fumerates. The place is sparkling clean, amenities top notch and the view from the infinity pool is beautiful. We were a bit tired when we arrived the first day and ended up spending the evening at the villa, having a couple of drinks in the garden, overlooking the pool and it was such an amazing experience. The hosts have put in a lot of thought in the arrangements and it shows. We highly recommend.
A beautiful home in a beautiful village, so much hospitality and the house had everything we needed. We did not want to leave! :) La Table de Jean is a much recommended restaurant, fantastic food and people. Lovely stay.

We would like to say what a wonderful time we had at Maison Valière, we were warmly welcomed by Eric and Dominique, a welcome pack included home made jam, local produce, Eric also introduced us to the local Ventenac-en-Minervois Chateau wine, the cave is well worth a visit. The property is fantastic, apart from the pool there is plenty to keep all ages occupied, there are lots of unique features in this property including Eric’s sound systems. The pool was kept clean and topped up on a regular basis. Eric and Dominique were always available at the end of a phone to offer advice on the area and places to visit. Would we go again, yes without any doubt whatsoever. I should also say our first time booking through Pure France which was seamless and a pleasure.
We enjoyed a fantastic 2 weeks in this lovely house. The pool was very popular (due to the August heatwave - most days were 30 - 33 degrees). It was nice to be given a guided tour of the property by Yvonne and be welcomed with flowers and wine. The house has so much character - It would be lovely to learn a little more about its history and former occupants. We loved lots of the al fresco dining and one particularly memorable cheese and wine night in the candlelit wine cellar! Île de Ré, La Rochelle, Cognac, Marais poitevin are all we worth visiting. Make sure you take a look at the stars on a clean night - we spotted a few shooting stars!

This is an ideal holiday home if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are no other houses nearby, yet you are only a 10 minute drive from the nearby Bastide of Monpazier and larger town of Villareal, where there are shops, restaurants, markets etc. The pool is a good size and well maintained and the house is very well equipped. We have been coming to France for over 10 years and this is the only property which has enticed us back for 2 years running.
The villa was absolutely stunning and located in a quiet location as mentioned in the description (the only noise being crickets but that was soothing). The lay out of the house in 3 separate buildings really worked for our extended family group, additionally different areas in the garden in which you could sit enabled people to have some quiet time if needed. I would recommend the restaurants in the village, although be aware they don't open on a Monday. A very enjoyable and restful stay.
Prior to arriving, dealing with Pete was easy and this continued with both him and Kate throughout our stay. We’d been in Avignon for week before where it was very hot, this continued in Curzon but the house was lovely and cool throughout. We all had no trouble sleeping which meant we weren’t able to take advantage of the pool for the first morning as we all slept in. When we did get out there, it was wonderful. As a family of 4 we were able to relax and have fun round the pool all day every day if we wanted, including cooking lunch and dinner on the gas BBQ in the outside kitchen which we made full use of. Facilities in the house were great and we relaxed quickly, taking advantage of the welcome package of goodies. We explored the surrounding villages and towns which were in easy reach and a 10 minute drive for bread each morning or a full shop meant we could simply pop out and get something for dinner/breakfast. They really looked after us and each morning we woke to a clean pool and surroundings, including towels waiting for us. We felt truly spoilt during our stay and could have easily booked 3 weeks or more and I imagine Pete and Kate will be managing full summers for a while to come. Thank you Pete and Kate for a memorable stay!
We had a wonderful time at the villa, it was even better than we hoped. If we return to the South of France again we will certainly book it again, if it's available. Thanks again.
If you are looking for calm in a peaceful environment, Le Mas de Combet is for that! it is very well equipped, nothing missing! a huge and well maintained lot with this very friendly view of a small lake and the forest . the terrace with its large pergola is ideal for resting or having a drink . we enjoyed the large swimming pool with its summer kitchen. hosts are exceptionally kind and welcoming . we recommend without hesitation.
We have enjoyed a 2-week stay at Laserne gite. We were Pete’s first guests last year and our second visit has been as special as our first stay. Pete has been a delightful host, checking on us daily to make sure everything was OK. The pool has been such a delight in this hot and sunny weather. The highlights of our stay are the wonderful views from the gite and the tranquillity of furniture and fittings.
Lovely spacious house, at the edge of a village. Beautiful pool area and pool house with shaded eating area. Excellent bathrooms and spacious modern shower facilities. Useful utility area. Lovely quiet setting. Good shop in next village, 4 miles away but bread machine just near property. House was lovely and clean and excellent welcome from caretaker.
Fabulous Villa and location We've been coming to the south of France for year and specifically to this area and to Seillans for the last 5 years... and this villa is as good as we have ever stayed. The villa is impeccably kept, extremely comfortable and has the most magnificent views. Everything in the villa is as advertised and works well. The restaurants of Seillans are a short walk away. Although the town itself unfortunately has no boulangerie or patisserie, Fayence is only a 5 minute drive away and has a great one of those, plus a boucherie / charcuterie around the corner, both of which are close to the big Super U supermarket. The terrace and pool are East-facing. We were worried that in the photos it looked like there was little shade provided but with the big awnings for the terrace and a few parasols for the pool, finding shade from the morning sun was not a problem. We love this area for the beautiful mountain villages (seillans, Callian, Tourrettes etc) but the ease of getting around in the largely flat area south of those villages so you can get to Cannes, Grasse and the beaches. Thank you for such an amazing holiday. It's been so peaceful and relaxing. We've loved your beautiful houser, grounds and pool. It's a really special place. We had a lovely day out in Bergerac a we swam at Lac de Pombonne which was lovely - just a few minutes drive away. We also had a nice evening in Périgueux. Mostly though we just enjoyed relaxing on the terrace by the pool! Thanks so much we hope to return.
We spent a very nice week in this house renovated with taste and comfort. The house is very well equipped for young and old with the games room, pétanque court and a very sizeable swimming pool. Much of the pool is flat. The view of the vineyards and fields is magnificent and guarantees a total disconnection
Thanks for a truly wonderful week. The house, garden and pool are really fabulous. We had a wonderfully relaxing time and didn't do as much exploring as we should have done as we couldn't tear ourselves away from the garden / pool. Don't miss Friday evening in Pézenas with the high street market, food, wine and music.
Fantastic villa in very good condition! Very helpful and responsive on a few questions we had. The pool is incredible, nice and deep for kids practicing their jumps!
We stayed at Maison Sainte-Croix in June last year and I have to say, we had a fantastic holiday. The spacious house is very comfortable and there is plenty of room for everyone. We particularly liked the choice of terraces to enjoy the magnificent views at different times of the day. We had many enjoyable afternoons tasting wine in the various local villages and were glad that we drove rather than flew so that we could take home some of our favourites! We found some very good restaurants in Vaison and the street market is well worth a visit. Many thanks!
