Amazing week for us in a very beautiful house with a wonderful view. The pool and outdoor kitchen area is great and was used daily for pool parties and delicious meals. Thanks to Peter and his team for their always friendly help.
Thank you, we have had a fun two weeks at Le Pigat. We have cycled, run and explored the rural countryside. We have spent warm nights playing cards and dominoes with our children. We have loved the pool and the quiet and eating outdoors. It is fair to say that we have had a memorable two weeks here and we are sad to leave to go back to work and school. Great house, perfect location, private and peaceful. Lasting memories... On revient...
An exceptionally hot week - the pool was a delightfully refreshing respite from the heat. Highlights were: cycling to Chateau de Gavaudun - fairly hilly route to Salles - we returned the longer way through the woods to the east- a more gentle climb and lovely road back to the cottage. The Marche de Soiree at Salles on Wednesday evening - if you go, take your own plates, cutlery and glasses. We were treated to the local karaoke singers!! A lovely meal in Monflanquin at the Prince Noir, and a midnight swim back at chez nous. Thank you for a fabulous week in this homely house were there is everything you need.
We spent 2 very good weeks in the house. The rental corresponds exactly to the photos published on the site and it was very clean when we arrived. The owners provided us with a wide description of the house, people to contact in case of concerns, visits to do allowing us to spend our stay in peace. The owner is easily reachable; an agent is on site in case of problems and a person is responsible for the maintenance of the pool every 3 to 4 days. The house is ideal for 2 couples with children because there are bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the ground floor and upstairs. We highly recommend this rental and thank Terry and Carol for the welcome.
A beautiful home in a beautiful village, so much hospitality and the house had everything we needed. We did not want to leave! :) La Table de Jean is a much recommended restaurant, fantastic food and people. Lovely stay.
Just wanted to say what a great three weeks we’ve had at Le Grand Verger. The house is superb… we are looking at a repeat holiday, returning next year Once again, an outstanding holiday in outstanding surroundings, thank you!
Villa du Château exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed, and Claire’s warm hospitality made us feel at home straight away. What makes this place truly unique is the perfect balance it offers. You wake up to breathtaking countryside views, complete peace and quiet, yet within just a couple of minutes’ walk you’re in the heart of Duras, with its castle, cafés, restaurants, markets and local shops. The house itself is absolutely stunning—beautifully restored, full of character, incredibly spacious and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Whether you’re relaxing by the private pool, enjoying long meals in the outdoor kitchen, watching the sunset from the terrace, or gathering with family and friends in one of the many living areas, every space invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. We were a multi-generational group, and everyone had an amazing time. Adults loved the peaceful setting and the nearby wineries and restaurants, teenagers enjoyed the lively atmosphere in the village, and the children had endless fun between the pool, the gardens and exploring the château. It is rare to find a property that is both so tranquil and so close to everything. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, celebrate with family, or simply experience the charm of southwest France, Villa du Château is the perfect place. Without a doubt, one of the finest holiday homes we’ve ever stayed in—and somewhere we would return to in a heartbeat.
Thanks for the welcome pack of wine, water and coffee. The house is excellently located to explore the old town of Pézenas. Check out the Saturday market, it's incredible. The house and pool are great, comfortable and well laid out.
What a wonderful stay we have had at this glorious villa. We could not stay out of the pool as we were so lucky with the weather. The pool inflatables were fantastic, children and adults enjoyed lazing around in the pool for hours on end! We had some great nights in Sarlat at 'Le Pub' watching the street performers. The villa is very well equipped and laid out allowing for us to have our own space as well as a social space. We hope to return next year.
Wonderful Food, a Grand Stay. We had a wonderful stay with all or family friends, all 16 of us! Perfect location in Burgundy for touring and wine tasting! The pool was fantastic. The catering and wine service and wine selections were a highlight of our stay. 10/10! We hope to visit again in the future.
Marie-Christine's house is ideal for a family, it is decorated with great taste, modern and airy. It has all the amenities and its location is ideal (supermarket, bakeries, shopping center, city center, train station, etc.) Marie is a charming person. She gave us advice and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend his house which is completely renovated. We have had such a wonderful stay at Cottage du Jardin here in beautiful Périgord Noir. It has been the perfect base for exploring this stunning region of France. During our time here, we've enjoyedvisiting the charming nearby villages and towns, including Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, Montignac, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, Domme, and the beautiful villages of Fanlac and Saint-Géniès. Highlights include: the fascinating Lascaux IV, the peaceful gardens of the Manoir d'Eyrignac, the impressive Château de Beynac and the breathtaking views of the Dordogne River from Domme, Beynac and La Roque-Gageac. We also walked locally, taking in the scenery of the village, the Vézère River and even strolled to see the Château de Losse. Our holiday has been extremely relaxing -- just what we needed. Thank you Caterina and Steve for a delightful stay in such a beautiful cottage and for your welcome and friendliness. We will be back!
Comfort and good taste reign in this house. Fields as far as the eye can see, the Dordogne just a stone's throw away. We feel good in this family home. Quality services. The owners have ensured our comfort and have provided us with good recommendations to enjoy the wonders of this region.

I think I can safely say that in all the years of hiring holiday accommodation in France we have not stayed in such a well appointed and well equipped property. We loved our stay! Can’t say enough about how beautiful the scenery was from the house. Close to the lake and a grocery store. Claude and Michelle were very kind and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful.

A fantastic home on the border of the Dordogne and Bordeaux. The house and garden were amazing. It's a "home" rather than a rental and we loved this. It has everything you need and it has a lovely warm feeling to it. We had a lovely 4-week stay here. The house managers were fantastic and we were very sad to say goodbye and gave us loads of great tips on places to go. Lac Jemaye, the food festival in Le Pizou, local markets, canoeing near Montpon, local farm shop that sold milk straight from the dairy etc. The standout for us was wine tasting around Pomerol and Saint-Émilion - we ended up doing three wine tasting days! St Emillion really is one of the most beautiful villages you could ever hope to visit. It's ground zero for wine and it's steeped in history. We miss the château terribly. Hopefully one day we will return.
Our family of 7 adults (and a toddler) spent a blissful week here in August and we were all agreed that it was pretty well perfect for our family needs. We knew we were going to love it when Philippe showed us round then presented us with the welcome pack - by far the best we have ever received when renting a holiday home. His generosity throughout the week showed him to be an exceptional host in going the extra mile to make sure guests were happy and we very much appreciated this. The layout of the villa, as other reviews have detailed, is particularly good for adult groups as there are three separate buildings housing the bedrooms (all beautifully decorated) thereby giving space to retreat if necessary. Bear in mind, if you are four couples, that the pool house room is very compact compared to the other three bedrooms. We particularly loved the comfy outdoor furniture where we gathered in the evenings and the Moroccan seating area for peace and quiet. The pool is a good size and was used every day - of course - and the boys loved playing table tennis. We love to cook and found that the kitchen was very spacious with two sinks and a huge cooker. It was also so useful having a separate fridge / freezer in the pool house annexe as you so often find that there is not enough fridge space in villas. The barbecue area was just superb and used several times. There is lots to explore close by and we did venture out for an afternoon on the canal du midi but we loved the villa so much we pretty much stayed put - it just had everything we needed. The whole villa was clean, spacious and the furnishings were good quality. What an exceptional villa this is and thank you Philippe for being such a great host. We can't wait to go back.

The villa has been all we hoped for and more. The accommodation is superb as are all the facilities. What a bonus to have the (choose and order) breakfast deliveries,. The lemon cake was gorgeous. Would recommend the Tuesday market at Clairac Market. Our week was VERY HOT – so we made very good use of the lovely pool. We enjoyed walking / cycling into Mauvezin. The shopkeepers were all very friendly and welcoming. The villa was perfect for our family of 8. Would absolutely recommend it. Merci beaucoup Philippe, superb host and translator!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. The owner was incredibly communicative and helpful, the housekeeper really sweet and welcoming. The bedrooms are all simple and clean with efficient bathrooms and gorgeous shutters. The layout of the house and thick walls meant that the bedrooms were cool even in 35 degree heat. The terrace was great for late evening meals and star gazing and the pool provided hours of fun for us all. Charming village, super landscape. Really good for walking or running past fields of sunflowers! We were there for 2 weeks and there was plenty to do. Our children's favourite was the Haunted House in Carcassonne!
