It is with a heavy heart that this 3-generation family are leaving this wonderful and magical place! We have spent a week here and we all agree that it was not long enough! Where do I begin? The château itself is truly gorgeous and to be lucky enough to stay in one with magnificent views is a dream come true. We have stayed in many places over the years and can see that a lot of thought has gone into making this such a comfortable holiday place for all, including tiny children. We hope to come back! In the meantime many thanks to Henrietta for all her help pre- and during our stay. She even organised the purchase of a new cot for our 3 year old grandson. Very thoughtful and well beyond the call of duty.
We have just spent an amazing fortnight at Maison Labarde in Lauzun hosted by Jean and Martyn. The gite is really well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and is cool inside, even in hot weather. Jean kindly provided many complementary extras for our arrival which was very much appreciated. A great outside kitchen with gas BBQ and additional fridge was perfect for outdoor dining and drinking! The pool was immaculate and cleaned daily by Martyn and there were various floats, water toys and inflatables available; the water temperature was just right- in fact it didn’t drop below 28 degrees for the whole fortnight. We enjoyed the extensive garden using the various seating areas available, all with parasols/ gazebo for shade if needed. It’s a lovely part of France with lots of Bastide towns to visit with markets, fetes and musical events in the summer months, as well as vineyards and châteaux for wine tastings at every turn!! Jean and Martyn were excellent hosts, friendly and informative about local events and places to visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this holiday gite and hope that we can return at some point in the future! Merci beaucoup!!
I had very high expectations for this accommodation, based on the photos and descriptions. But the castle was even more incredible than we dared to imagine. We were four families, 15 in total, on a graduation trip across Europe. It's the only place we could all be together and our days there were the highlight of our trip. This place is PERFECT for large gatherings. So much room, so many places where we could all be together. Amazing food. The pool was awesome. I can't say enough how perfect it was for our group.
Don't even know which month it is, let alone the day - sign of a good holiday! Thank you so much for a beautiful 2 weeks in your beautiful villa. The château is truly amazing. We hope to return in the future to enjoy the lovely Provence again. Best wishes.
Amazing lunch spreads on the big table every day accompanied by tasing of rose and red wine. Stunning BBQ dinners every evening. Sitting by the pool, staring at the view and saying 'wow'! on a regular basis. Kids very happy in the cinema for slightly too many hours! What a stunning pace and what a privilege to have visited here. Thank you. Look forward to returning one day.

We have had a perfect week staying in this gorgeous home. As much as we loved getting out and about, we have also loved spending lazy days around the pool - it has been quite a challenge to tear ourselves away! We managed it a few times though and between us the hits were serious cycle trips on quiet country roads, exploring beautiful little towns that are just all over the place, the odd château visit (Chenonceau is a must - get there early) and of course, just being in France. Thank you for allowing us into your very special home - you are lovely hosts and I hope our paths cross again in the future. Merci beaucoup!

Absolutely stunning, luxury converted distillery in the countryside of Challignac. Extremely high end furnishings and appliances. Beautiful interior design, all air conditioned and with an amazing outdoor heated pool with spacious patio, cushioned loungers, sofas and outside dining together with BBQ, Boules court and children’s play area all surrounded by beautiful gardens, and stunning tranquil countryside. It was beautiful to sit out with a morning coffee, watching deer walk through the field at the front. The beds were the most comfortable we’d ever slept in, the showers were fantastic, everything is top notch. Gary and Mark made our week extra special with fabulous recommendations of places to visit and excellent restaurants all nearby. They responded instantly to any request we had, but were totally respectful of our privacy unless we contacted them. We cannot recommend staying here enough and are booking for next year.
Great stay in Margon, Helen is very responsive and available. We had 2 babies and the equipment (high chairs and cots) was available. I would definitely recommend this place to relax and visit the area. Thanks again to Helen for her trust.
It’s hard to know where to begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Your property is so well set up and we made good use of the barbecue, tennis court, boules, darts, table tennis and of course, the pool which beats all other swimming pools we’ve ever had on holiday... and the shady areas when the sun got just that bit too hot. So much thought has obviously gone into it all and it made our holiday very special. The four teenage grandchildren we had with us had a ball and we all loved the Lot countryside, its villages and the sunflowers. How can you not be happy when you’ve got fields of them within a few steps from your door? The two Marches Gourmands we went to at Tournon and Saux were brilliant fun - the food on offer at Saux was particularly good and Tournon is such a pretty place. Our daughter loved going for early morning runs, seeing a hare and on two occasions, a deer, amongst sunflowers. Swimming in the Lot, cycling and canoeing are all on our list of favourite things we did. We also have a great picture of three of the red squirrels on the tree near the bolet - what a brilliant place for breakfast. Thank you so very much from all of us. My family (of 4) have stayed at this house on many occasions since the children were babies and it is the perfect house to spend a holiday with another family. The house has a wonderful and relaxed atmosphere and is always welcoming and cool after a hot days sightseeing around the pretty countryside. The swimming pool and grounds are beautiful. What with badminton on the lawn, ping pong in the barn, lazy meals outside in the courtyard and relaxing by the pool, it is possible for the whole family to be well occupied all day long.
Magnificent villa, very clean, spacious! Very responsive and kind host. Perfect place to meet up with several people for personal and professional events.

Now we are back from a fabulous holiday staying in Grand Mauran, I just wanted to say we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect, it was so well equipped and had everything we could possible need for a holiday with a baby. Having the pool heated was a real joy. All the instructions were good and our questions were answered very promptly. We definitely will be back.

This is the nicest house we have ever rented for a holiday, we were two families and it worked perfectly for us. So many activities at the house including bikes, table football, table tennis, boules, tennis court and a beautiful warm pool. There even more areas than the photos show including a great Pool, TV/ playroom. The grounds are stunning and views from the terrace a nset a sight to behold! Several beautiful towns are within half an hour's easy journey. Mike and Natalie who look after the house for the owner live a few miles away, nothing is too much trouble for them lovely people, lovely house, couldn't fault a thing! It was a privilege to have the opportunity to live here for a week. Pure relaxation. We had a very special holiday, once again, Pure France did us proud.
We have had aan amazing 2 weeks here. Honestly this house is gorgeous. The sunsets here are like no others. Would recommend visiting local wine producers, cycling through the vineyards and generally exploring the local area. We also visited a bunch of markets up in the mountains and went to watch the Bastille day fireworks. Would love to come back soon!
Perfect! Our stay in the L’Ancienne Etable was 5 star. Jane and Richard have thought of everything to make this the perfect pad for two. Peaceful and relaxing, we would highly recommend and hope to return again soon.
Perfect little getaway. So pleased that we came to stay at Maison Meunier. The cottage was perfect for our family holiday with plenty of space for the four of us but still with that cosy feel. It was lovely to be able to come home after our exploring and relax with the kids by the pool in the afternoon sun. The location was great and we had more than enough options for places to go. Thanks for helping us create some great family memories.

I can only agree wholeheartedly with what Sue and Mike have written. You have a lovely home and I have really enjoyed my stay here.
