The owner has welcome us warmly. Her open plan house is very nice. The pool is very large and we can really swim. For families the house is handy and there are pool toys and balloons. We have spent an enjoyable week at the property.
What a magic place! We have loved every minute here. Pete is the most incredible host and we loved our evening chats. The kayaking has been the highlight, we loved Sarlat - Had a great lunch at Lou Podel and not forgetting the disco pool lights after dark. The kids loved it! We'll be back.
Thanks Kate and Franz for creating such a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Enjoying tea and coffee on our last morning we were joined by 2 deer - a lovely last moment. We are going to miss the house, the swimming pool and the beautiful meadow. Our highlights are Montcuq market, spending time in Lauzerte and Montpazier, two very pretty places. We have had some great food, especially at Le Caillau. It has been a special summer for our children, who have both had to endure exams and so it is fantastic that we as a family have been able to spend time together in this wonderful place. So pleased to have met you both and of course the little Lotte. Love from us all.
We had a lovely week in this quaint house. It was secluded with a lovely pool which was cleaned twice during our week. Which was ideal as it was quite windy. We had no faults with our stay and the owner was helpful when required. I would like to point out that air conditioning is only downstairs, kitchen and bedroom with pull out sofa bed in. There was an air conditioning unit in the top bedroom which was satisfactory. That would be my only comment on what was a lovely week that it should be clearer in the description where it is.

Beautifully maintained. Very clean fabulous house and grounds. Fantastic range of play equipment for the children and we all really enjoyed the lovely pol. We have all had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful and well equipped house.
We’ve just returned from a marvellous fortnight at Maison Charvin. Having been annual visitors to France for rather more years than I now care to remember I can honestly say this is one of the best houses we’ve stayed in. As well as being full of French character and ideally located for exploring the delights of Carcassonne and the surrounding area, the house itself is absolutely immaculate with so many thoughtful touches – from two lovely bottles of wine to welcome us to a first aid kit in the bathroom and a sewing kit in the kitchen drawer. And as for the kitchen, well, it’s a cook’s dream. Our youngest daughter is an avid cook and she was delighted to be surrounded by every utensil she could think of including decent kitchen knives. The courtyard garden is beautiful – the jasmine and oleander were in bloom while we were staying and the fragrance in the evenings was beautiful! The pool, meanwhile, was well loved and well used by everyone. Montlaur itself is very pretty. We loved the market and live music on Tuesday evenings – a great jazz band played the first week and a fabulous blues band the second. Vins de Dagne was lovely for supper and Aurelian, the owner was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable when it came to recommendations for wine. History lovers will appreciate the rich Cathar history of the wider region and a visit to Lagrasse, just down the road, is a must. And last, but not least, Sharon, the owner, is just lovely. So friendly and ready to help with anything at the drop of a hat. All in all, a wonderful two weeks and I do hope we can return.
If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Provence, we highly recommend this estate (La Bastide 1718) for 8 days to accommodate 35 people for our wedding. We had planned activities throughout the week: hiking, yoga, visiting the butterfly garden without forgetting a visit to a cellar. Our group loved it! We organized the welcome reception, the wedding ceremony, the wedding lunch, dinner and the post brunch at various locations in the Bastide. It was so magical that we thought we were in a dream. The property still has a few things to improve for event planning and long stays but Thomas was welcoming and once there everything was perfect. The wine is also delicious. We love their 10 Euro rosé and drank cases of it during our stay. Their white wines are also very, very good. Their wine is delicious and hard to find in the United States! Overall, I highly recommend staying here. It will clear your mind as you are surrounded by nature, wildlife and vineyards that stretch endlessly. We enjoyed hiking right next to the property every morning. For a city break, you are 45 minutes from the coast, 40 minutes from old Hyères, which is our favorite Provençal town and 10 minutes from a Michelin star restaurant in La Celle. We highly recommend. Their olive oil is also delicious!

Your phenomenal standards of taste, quality and style are equally matched by your meticulous understanding of your holiday guests' practical needs during their stay. We have experienced self-catering holidays in many areas of France for some four decades and, without doubt, you are in a premier league of your own! The warmth of your welcome and hospitality have all combined to create for us a truly wonderful holiday and Minervois experience. Fabulously 'well done' to both of you - and 'thank you!' We have just enjoyed one of our best holidays ever and your outstanding charm and conviviality have contributed so much. Wonderful house. Thank you for our wonderful stay. We were a large party of friends looking for somewhere scenic to spend a week together. We were excited when we booked but over the moon when we arrived to the beautiful house. The space works really well for a large group of people with multiple areas to comfortably sit and hang out. We had some delicious dinners and breakfasts (cooked in the well equipped kitchen and BBQ) out on the deck and the view made them even more magical. Even though the house is wonderful to relax and play in the pool in we found some lovely things to do in the surrounding area. There's a wonderful restaurant right by the house and kayaking and wake-boarding about an hour drive and some nice villages not far. Overall if you want a place that feels private and scenic and is still functional and comfortable then this an ideal place. We hope to come back soon!

Fabulous house on the edge of the village with magical views and absolute peace and privacy. We were thrilled to see so much wildlife, so many wonderful birds, butterflies, red squirrel and deer around the house. We flew into Limoges which is a tiny and very easy airport to manage. Car hire is just outside the exit, the roads are blissfully empty and the drive to Lusignac was a pleasure. We couldn't have had a better week.
Superb property with all the comforts. We spent a week in July 2023 with family and loved the beauty of this area. The infinity pool, the jacuzzi and the ping-pong table delighted the children. The wooded park offers a beautiful space for relaxation and walking. Thank you again for Francesca’s welcome and services!

Beautiful villa, fabulous pool! We loved our stay in Maison de Saint-Jean. The villa is big, beautiful and cool (the weather was HOT!) and extremely well equipped. The beds, in particular, are super-comfy and we really appreciated the extra touches, like piles of big lizard-patterned pool towels (in addition to soft white bath towels for everyone), gorgeous soaps in the bathrooms and a huge range of kitchen equipment (including sharp knives - hurrah! - and a coffee machine). The pool is a good size (long enough to swim 'proper' lengths) and it was lovely to take a dip in soft, salt water, rather than the usual strong-smelling chlorine. Our teens loved the ping-pong table (and we loved that it was in the courtyard, out of earshot!), the massive bean bag, the great Wi-Fi connection and (face of shame) the BBC channels on the TV. The village restaurant (literally 15 paces away) is great - really friendly, nice food - and there a lots of other good places to eat in the towns nearby (once you've worked out which ones are closed on which days - every one is different!). Thoroughly recommend this villa - we honestly can't think of a single thing it's missing - and the truly beautiful French landscape all around it.

Just packing our bags for our homeward journey after a fantastic two weeks here in your lovely house in Faugeres! After a long journey we were delighted to arrive at your welcoming house. Our stay here has been more than comfortable with everything we needed and more at our fingertips. Your information booklet proved invaluable.

We came here for my 60th birthday and danced (in the hall!) till the small hours, played games in the pool, badminton at night, ate, drank and enjoyed the amazing homely atmosphere of this elegant place. What a beautiful château! 18 members of the family came from all over the world for our 50th anniversary wedding together.
We have had a wonderful week with very hot weather (35°- 40°) and the pool has been a godsend! The house has everything needed for a relaxing week and the darts and table tennis have been heavily used. Le Convent bar has an amazing views and great food/drinks but book as it is always busy. Thank you Nic and Doug for hospitality.
