We have had a fantastic stay in this fabulous property and wanted to say how much we loved The Loft! It was everything we had expected and more; it is fantastically equipped and we wanted for nothing. Karen and Russell are excellent hosts and we hope to stay here again in the future. We have just returned from a very successful holiday in Villa Bellara. We were seven (incl two children) in week one and two for most of week two. We were certainly comfortable. The villa is situated in a quiet residential road, so no problems with early morning noise! It is about eight minutes walk from an excellent patisserie for buying croissants etc for breakfast, with an excellent fruit shop opposite. A supermarket is a little further, but easily reached. The beach is about 12 minutes walk. Access to other locations is simple via Cagnes station, (eg Nice or Cannes) and there is a free bus to Cagnes en Haut which is well worth a visit. The property is excellently maintained, the kitchen equipment first class and well thought out. There is a splendid terrace overlooking the pool, with an awning over the dining table which seated us all comfortably. In the evening, the small garden has under lighters under the trees and at midnight, sprays raise up from the grass to water it. The garden, though small, is well maintained, with hedges all round making it very private. We had a most enjoyable, memorable holiday.
Absolutely beautiful - all of it! I ran in the grounds every morning before it was too hot! Loved the high ceilings and shutters. Beautiful rooms and space for everyone. Loved have the huge living room. Obviously the pool and beautiful surroundings. Fully equipped kitchen and playroom for the kids and adults! Kitchen was brilliant . Loved the range and outdoor dining area next to the pond. Easy to cook for all needs. The owners have been the best hosts (from a distance). Kind and full of knowledge and tips. They have not elevated our holiday. Thank you fo much. I would not hesitate to return!
We couldn't have had a more wonderful location to endure the heatwave! Thanks for a wonderful, relaxing holiday. Favourite Moment: The pool (of course)! Morning coffee in Verteillac and the live music last night. Places We Recommend: Brantôme, the church in Aubeterre.
We have so enjoyed our stay at Cottage du Jardin - a picture perfect house full of charm. Thonac is well placed for visiting this part of Dordogne and the restaurants and shop within easy walking distance are a huge bonus. Many thanks Caterina and Steve for your kind hospitality.
We cannot say enough good things about Les Fumerates or its owners. Loved the property! Everything about the villa is well-appointed. The owners were exceptionally helpful and anxious to answer any of our questions, concerns, etc. They are both very dedicated to seeing that their guests enjoy their stay, have everything they need, etc. We will definitely be returning to the area and when we do, our first choice for rentals will be here! Thank you for a great start to our 2 weeks in France!
A house as exceptionally welcoming as it is easy to live in and comfortable. We spent a week there with friends and our children and we didn't see the time passing. The garden, the swimming pool, the barbecue, the ping pong table and all the numerous facilities made available by Marie-Thérèse allowed us to have many good times.
We have had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. We appreciate how clean it was when we arrived (thanks Yvonne) and the wine. We love the decor and period furnishings. The pool and small barn were great. It was interesting to hear about the history and previous occupants of the house from Bob and Margaret, the English neighbours across the road. Thanks. We hope to return one day.
We returned to La Charmante Distillerie in July 2025 for three weeks after the most fantastic stay last year - and it felt just as special, if not more so, the second time around. Mark and Gary have created something truly memorable here: a place that strikes the perfect balance that is beautifully designed and endlessly comfortable, peaceful without being remote and thoughtful in all the ways that matter. Everything is designed to help you slow down and properly switch off. Our daughters, 13 and 15, instantly settled back into their favourite rhythm - hours in the pool, relaxing in the snug, making jewellery outdoors and enjoying the freedom the setting creates. And we did the same— café and a book in the early morning sun, long lunches and quiet evenings with a cocktail or two, followed by some stunning late-night stargazing. One of the real joys of returning was being able to explore the surrounding communes a little more, expertly guided by Mark and Gary’s thoughtful suggestions. From stunning local restaurants and distilleries, night food markets, artisanal crafts in Aubeterre, fascinating visits to beautiful Templar churches and an unforgettable day at the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux. Every recommendation was exactly what we didn’t know we were looking for. It made the whole experience feel richer and more connected. What once again made this visit even more meaningful was having Mark and Gary as hosts. They are the kindest, most generous and genuine couple. It’s rare to find a place that gets under your skin in the best possible way - but La Charmante Distillerie has done exactly that. Returning felt like coming home and we left feeling recharged, grateful and already planning our visit next year….....if Mark and Gary will have us. Its also hard not to repeat what we said after our first visit in 2024: we’d love to keep this our own little secret… but that wouldn’t be fair. It really is the perfect destination with the perfect hosts.

We had a brilliant family holiday at Mas de Lozanne in June 2022, The house and pool were perfect for 6 adults and a baby; a very quiet location but still a short walk into the beautiful town of Pézenas. We plan to return in 2025.
Fantastic 10 days at Maison Joutard. The highlights:- Fantastic welcome pack. House and garden perfect for our toddlers. Equipped with everything we needed. We visited Cognac, Bordeaux, Villefagnan. Cycling to the bakery in Verdille. Whole experience highly recommended.
Amazing house. Feels very homely and comfortable on a grand scale. The pool was great and we had fun exploring the woods. Hosted very well, friendly and fun when rquired and hidden when not. Great, thank you.

Very nice stay in a beautiful house. The unit is ideally located by the Canal du Midi. There are many activities to do in the area (hikes, water sports, tastings, ...). The hosts are lovely and available. We particularly appreciated the many recommendations for discovering the region. The accommodation is well decorated, spacious and well-equipped. The pool is large and not overlooked. The bedding is also nice. A big plus is the number of bathrooms that makes it easy for a large group to get organized. We had a great time in a fantastic setting with a rare value for money. We'll be happy to go back! Thanks again!
We all enjoyed the stay at the villa. We liked the location - both in Lezignan and the fact that it is close to Pézenas and easy to get to other locations (we went to Carcassonne; Montpellier, Millau etc) Thanks you for making the bicycle available and the table football! It was also nice to have a pool - although we only used that once. A lot of useful information was also provided in the villa. We liked the fact that you contacted us personally - it offered us reassurance prior to our trip - thanks for your help. All in all we enjoyed our stay and if in the area would visit the villa again. We had the most amazing stay at Château Périgord. Twelve friends of 38 years celebrated two 65th birthday, one 60th birthday, two retirements and one 21st birthday. We couldn't think of a better place to celebrate. The house is magnificent and catered for all our needs. The owners have been amazing, thank you for all your recommendations. We will miss this place terribly, but what amazing memories we have, thank you!
A fantastically relaxing 2 weeks. The house and pool are perfect and Hugh and Ian couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. We've already booked for next year and can't wait to get back here.
The villa was a great place to stay. We have been renting villas for nearly 20 years now and this is the first time ever that we didn't use a car. So near the airport, so near shops, restaurants, the sea, the train station for days out to Nice and Antibes. And the villa itself was lovely - it was more spacious than we expected. Moreover at 30 degrees the pool was marvellous. Only complaint - a week was too short!
A very friendly welcome. The place is very quiet while allowing visits to tourist sites. The kitchen is very well equipped. We enjoyed discovering the family history (which manages the nearby Napoleon Museum).
Extremely well maintained and attractive park. Thought the children's swings and loungers were really good for variety. Excellent facilities. Extremely responsive and discrete service which was excellent. Invaluable housekeeping and concierge service. Thank you!
I had a great stay at Le Mas de Combet with a group of 9 adults and 2 infants as we were attending a wedding nearby at Chateau de St Paul (c. 10 - 15 minutes drive) The house was clean, well equipped and very peaceful and private. The villa is remote so a car is definitely required but it's a beautiful setting with wonderful views of the countryside and the pool was well used during our stay! We had a couple of days of rain but the house is so comfortable and has plenty of space for indoor and outdoor entertaining. One small note was that there is no soap, shower gel or shampoo provided as described on the listing but that was a very minor inconvenience which was easily resolved. Dermod, our contact was extremely helpful and responsive and even personally arranged a lift for one of our party back from the wedding venue (thanks to Patricia!). Thanks for a great stay - we would definitely recommend!
A wonderful 2 weeks for 8 adults and 7 grandchildren in a most beautiful château. Extremely well looked after by Robert and his team.
We had a very good stay at La Ferme Éclaircie which met all our expectations. We were very grateful for the initial supplies ( tea, coffee, wine , orange juice, loo paper etc ) which make a huge difference. The information pack - which was really useful. The maps. And the house was delightfully furnished and well supplied. We loved the area.
