We had a lovely week enjoying the beautiful house and pool and breakfast and barbecues outside. We had highly variable weather but that enabled us to discover Périgueux and Saint-Émilion. We highly recommend Aubeterre and the bar Brasserie in Verteillac Le Calice. Many thanks.

We had a fantastic holiday at the property and to be quite honest, didn't want to leave. Glum faced we are looking back on our holiday snaps wishing we weren't back in the gloomy English weather, but sitting out on the glorious verandah! Your hospitality was second-to-none and the whole holiday faultless.
A truly lovely place and charming hosts. The kind of secret tingle you get when you stumble on a gem didn’t leave us all week. The photos don’t do it justice and we felt completely at home. Nothing but the sound of birdsong and laughing children and the sight of a deer in the extensive gardens were very special. In a glorious part of France with countless places to stay this is definitely one not to miss.
It has been a great pleasure meeting you both and staying with you. We thoroughly enjoyed our first evening with you both and learning a little about the area. What you have done with your property is truly magnificent despite the artisans! We enjoyed following your recommendations for places to visit and have navigated our way through the vineyards - thank you for our adventures! We went to Narbonne and saw synchronized kite flying that was really exciting to watch. We will really miss the gardens and pool. Au revoir.
One week was not long enough. Fabulous house - didn't want to leave. Visit Pézenas, just wonderful and great shopping.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Such an honor to spend time in such a special part of the world, a little piece of heaven surrounded by vineyards, sunflowers and lavender. Wonderful pool and garden and of course lovely interior of the rooms. Our kids enjoyed playing in the pool area and really loved the tree house!

We have had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. Many thanks for the beautiful house and views. We have enjoyed the pool, the sunshine, the fantastic pool and of course the piano. As musicians having a piano was important. To learn the house was belonging a famous jazz pianist was awesome! We have played jazz everyday and the sound of piano across the evening air was a dream. 5 stars are simply not sufficient when it comes to a review of this outstanding gite. A truly fabulous week starting with a warm welcome (and delicious cognac cocktail) from Mark and Gary and then the luxurious surroundings which we adored, 7 days of absolute luxury and a credit to the wonderful hosts who made our stay that extra bit special. Attention to detail is exemplary, everything you could possibly need is provided (from whisked milk for the perfect coffee and an air fryer to the hairdryers and divine smelling body wash and in the waterfall showers). The welcome hamper was a delight and Mark and Gary were the perfect hosts with excellent recommendations for dinner (Le Boule D’Or and Les Droles were excellent) and places to visit. Everything is utterly spotless (including the pool and terrace which were meticulously cleaned each day) and the beds are like sleeping in the clouds. The welcoming scent throughout is something we’ll remember at home thanks to a visit to Aubeterre to Savon Garde. We cannot fault this incredible haven of tranquility and luxury and are already planning a return visit. Thank you Mark and Gary for transforming La Charmante Distillerie to such an outstanding holiday destination, and for your hospitality from start to finish.
If you like the charm of the old, you will be won over. We particularly appreciated the layout of the house and the exterior. The fact that the swimming pool is in the low garden creates both security but also that the house remains very calm when there is commotion at the swimming pool! We played the most memorable games of ping pong in the shade of the majestic cypress trees and the children spent hours illuminating the castle, the immediate proximity of which is magical.
We have had a lovely spent in this beautiful villa. We all felt very relaxed. The pool was very welcoming especially as it was such a hot week. The views are spectacular. We enjoyed the night markets in Duras and Monsegur. Would recommend the Terrasse restaurant in Duras. Thank you Frédéric for being so helpful.
Perfect. Just perfect. I hesitate to advertise this since I'd want to keep this gem as a secret all to myself. New house, everything top of the range and well kept. Deep pool for laps. Large garage. Privacy and security. The nicest host couple. And the views. Photos simply don't do justice. Would recommend whole-heartedly.

We have recently returned from our stay in Manoir Coutenson. The house was even better than we anticipated, truly wonderful! Beautiful private gardens, the covered terrace and swimming pool were perfect and we spent many evenings barbecuing and relaxing outdoors. The house itself is extremely comfortable and well equipped, we were so impressed with the kitchen contents, the owners had thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is plenty to do in the local area, we hired boats, bicycles, went horse riding and wine tasting at a number of the local vineyards. Saint-Émilion was only an hour away, a memorable place to visit and a very easy drive. We would not hesitate to recommend this property as a holiday home, it's location, facilities and level of comfort were outstanding!
We had a wonderful week at this gorgeous property. The hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. The house is amazing - beautiful blend of old and modern. Impressive double height ceilings and doors. Very spacious and well appointed. The kids had a great time swimming in the pool. The gardens are lovely - we liked the hammock and swing. We also made use of the table tennis table. The house and grounds are very private and secluded. We had a beautiful view over surrounding sunflower fields. We would thoroughly recommend this property to families.
We had a lovely lazy two weeks by the pool! With the hot weather the air conditioning was very welcoming at night time. We have used Pure France several times over the last 6 years and this villa has definitely been the best equipped and most accurately described. 5 / 5.

Thank you, Sharon, for letting us stay in your gorgeous home “Maison Charvin”! The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the kitchen is fully equipped. The saltwater swimming pool was a godsend as the temperature has been very high over our 2-week stay. The village and its residents are lovely and friendly. There is a small local market every Thursday evening with cheese, wine, beer and other items for sale. The local bar is lovely. You need to make a booking to eat there - It is called Vin de Dagne and bookings can be made online. The owner is very friendly and speaks excellent English. His cooking is excellent too. We got our daily pastries and baguettes from the local shop a few doors down from the bar/restaurant. There is also a pizza van on a Thursday night when the local bar/restaurant is closed. Sharon very kindly organised a visit to her vet as part of the animal health certificate requirements. We have had a fabulous time and Sharon has been so helpful. Thank you.
