I just want to send you a quick message to say what a lovely holiday we are having in your charming house. It looked fabulous from the photos but in fact, on arrival it really surpassed our expectations. We really appreciate the beautiful environment and also the rare fact that it was very well stocked with all those things one normally needs to rush to the supermarket to buy: loo paper, soap, dishwasher tablets and the like. I just wanted to let you know what a lovely place this is and to say thank you.
A beautiful house and garden which made for a very relaxing time in your beautiful surrounding. Thank you for the recommendations for lunch and dinner at various restaurants - very special. We absolutely loved our stay at Château Des Grillauds. It was the pinnacle of our European vacation this summer. This property is full of character, well equipped and comfortable with lots of bedrooms and space. We loved the location with very good local markets almost every day and it is within an hour of Bordeaux and notable vineyards as well as being very central in the Dordogne district. Our kids loved the pool which was heated and kept at 30 °C. We would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you so much.
An excellent stay. A magnificent residence, full of history and impressive beauty. We were delighted to stay there. The advice given by Mme de Maleville was so valuable to us, especially for the restaurants to go to in the area. We will certainly return.
Immaculate! Everything was soptless. We had everything we needed. Thank you for accommodating us. Love the pool! The BBQ was great for evening meals altogether. We returned to La Charmante Distillerie in July 2025 for three weeks after the most fantastic stay last year - and it felt just as special, if not more so, the second time around. Mark and Gary have created something truly memorable here: a place that strikes the perfect balance that is beautifully designed and endlessly comfortable, peaceful without being remote and thoughtful in all the ways that matter. Everything is designed to help you slow down and properly switch off. Our daughters, 13 and 15, instantly settled back into their favourite rhythm - hours in the pool, relaxing in the snug, making jewellery outdoors and enjoying the freedom the setting creates. And we did the same— café and a book in the early morning sun, long lunches and quiet evenings with a cocktail or two, followed by some stunning late-night stargazing. One of the real joys of returning was being able to explore the surrounding communes a little more, expertly guided by Mark and Gary’s thoughtful suggestions. From stunning local restaurants and distilleries, night food markets, artisanal crafts in Aubeterre, fascinating visits to beautiful Templar churches and an unforgettable day at the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux. Every recommendation was exactly what we didn’t know we were looking for. It made the whole experience feel richer and more connected. What once again made this visit even more meaningful was having Mark and Gary as hosts. They are the kindest, most generous and genuine couple. It’s rare to find a place that gets under your skin in the best possible way - but La Charmante Distillerie has done exactly that. Returning felt like coming home and we left feeling recharged, grateful and already planning our visit next year….....if Mark and Gary will have us. Its also hard not to repeat what we said after our first visit in 2024: we’d love to keep this our own little secret… but that wouldn’t be fair. It really is the perfect destination with the perfect hosts.
We had a wonderful week in La Tourouzelle. The large pool and adjoining deck was a gift in the strong sun. The house has everything you would want, with each bed and couch as comfortable as the next! The view from the terrace, taking in the vines, the woods and even the Pyrénées is breathtaking!
Peter and I just returned from our holiday in France and I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our week at les Marquises! The property is just lovely- the views from the terrace and the master bath really are stunning. The kitchen was a pleasure to use, everything one needed was provided. I know you did nt arrange this but the weather was superb-sun and very warm temps every day. It was a pleasure to return to the pool and cool off with a view of the vineyards! We even got to see the grape harvest in the fields directly behind the pool! We found the location perfect -close to Nyons but super quiet and private. This charming home is cleverly decorated and very comfortable. I also found booking with Pure France wonderful- fast replies, easy payment and most helpful responses to any questions I had. Thank you again for the opportunity to stay at this unique property and to explore a beautiful part of Provence. A la prochaine!
Lovely holiday home. This was the first time we had stayed in this area of Perigord. The house was fantastic, very large for 4 people and had a really good swimming pool. The house is only 2 km from the river which is also lovely to swim in. There is also a lake nearby at Grolejac as well if you prefer that. The property is in a quiet but central location with numerous beautiful towns to visit nearby (e.g. Domme and Sarlat) and lots of activities to enjoy. We had a great 2 week holiday here!
We (family of four, 2 adults and 2 children) enjoyed a lovely week here in July. Fantastic with private pool which was cleaned every day, walking distance to pretty village and bakers, lovely and very welcoming hosts. The house contains two sweet bedrooms, large and relaxing lounge / kitchen area, outdoor kitchen and terrace plus a nice pavilion by the pool. Lots of games available including a table tennis table. Had a great week and happy to recommend.
Excellent, everything exceeded our expectations. Lovely space. It was so lovely to arrive to hot food after a long journey and to not have to worry about shopping for the first few days. We had a fantastic holiday and will book again for next year. Thank you both so much.
The acccommodation is beautifully presented with lots of lovely little touches. There's everything you need but if not the hosts are just next door and couldn't be more helpful. Vouvant is a very short walk away and has a handful of bars, restaurants and shops so you can just leave the car and relax if you really need to with off. We'd highly recommend a stay a The Piglet Barn and will most certainly be back.
It's hard to know where to start with this wonderful home, the inside and outside are so special its impossible to choose a 'best bit'! I didn't know this part of France at all and whilst it was a wonderful discovery, the château itself stands head and shoulders above its surroundings (literally) with his jaw dropping views. 360 degrees of rolling hills, almost no building in sight and just the sheep and their charming bells the only signs of neighbours. The pictures simply can't do it justice. The house itself is extremely luxurious in its proportions and furnishings. The main difference to other holiday homes is that it is so evidently a comfortable home. We had one rainy day on our trip and the excuse to be inside for the evening with the fire and comfortable sofa's was a great treat. The mixed accommodation is wonderful, with the farm house next to the château and the two charming cottages in the grounds. Very much one for a gang of friends or large family. The owners provide some brilliant suggestions on what to do when venturing further afield - should you want to! But there seem to be endless possibilities, in our brief 10 days we discovered so much and feel we could happily come back every year for 10 years and still be finding new spots. The castle at Foix is an absolute must for children and for adults, if you don't want to go parachuting after your market trip to beautiful Mirepoix the Michelin restaurant 8 minutes away in Camon is a must. But equally with the tennis court, heated pool, choice of terraces to eat on, chapel, lake and boat it would be entirely possible to spend a happy week going no where at all. Perhaps apart from a trip down the drive to Olivier and Marielle's informal shop. Heaven.
Even more idilic than last time. Everything has been thought about and nothing is missing so you have set the scene for a perfect holiday.
Second stay in this magnificent house, it is still such an enchanting place. The nature of course is splendid but the interior space and the layout are really of high quality. The rooms are particularly spacious, the bedding is perfect, the decoration combines old and new in a very harmonious way. The common areas are very well appointed, special mention for the table football in a cool lounge which the children enjoyed. The kitchen is large and stocked with more than the basics. The swimming pool is completely secure with a very handy sliding opening system. We will come back with pleasure.

We have had such a happy and relaxing week at Piglet and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you both and sharing your beautiful home and garden. We have visited many properties in France and this is one ofthe loveliest ! Vouvant is a delightful village with its interesting history and vibrant community.The guided walk of the village is recommended as well as a visit to the zoo - great for kids. Thank you Karen and Russell for giving us the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place. The Loft du Vigneron is one of the nicest places we have stayed, and we have stayed in many. The warm welcome we received when we arrived was lovely after our tiring journey. It was great to have you show us around, and your welcome pack was more than generous. The facilities here are all 5-Star; the Loft is spacious and airy, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and crockery and everything that you need, and more besides. All the ensuite bathrooms are of the highest standard with fluffy towels and pamper products (I want a new bathroom when I go home - I was spoiled here). Karen and Russell, you really know how to look after your guests and spoil them. We can't wait to come back next year for two weeks - one was not enough!

Excellent. We had a very good stay. The villa is very well equipped, dishes, utensils, everything is present. An exceptional panoramic view of the vineyards from the house and the swimming pool. Warm welcome on our arrival and guaranteed rest in the middle of the vineyards.
It is an extraordinary place, very quiet and well-equipped. The terrace and pool are really nice. Lots of villages to visit around. Recommended!
We had two gorgoeus weeks in this fabulous farmhouse. The house is large and spacious with everything you would need. The hosts were so wonderful and made us fell very welcome - nothing was too much trouble! There is plenty to do in the surrounding area - lots of wonderful towns to explore, canoeing, swimming in the lakes and lovely walks. We were two families with 5 teenagers. We all agreed that we would happily go back!

A stay in immaculate cottage with small front garden and very large pool adjoining the owners beautiful historic house. Charming hosts, very helpful when needed, otherwise considerately discreet. Lovely area with lots to do and visit. Would certainly recommend it for a relaxing holiday.

The apartment is incredibly cool and offers a breathtaking view from the large balcony. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, which suited us very well. We will definitely go back. It is good to know that there is no grocery store in the immediate vicinity. It is recommended to have a car if you do not choose to do your daily exercise in connection with your purchases. :)
