I cannot say how much I love this amazing old stone farmhouse; it has been so immaculately restored and is both stylish and supremely comfortable. The gardens are beautiful (what a fantastic collection of Salvias) and the infinity pool, with its view over the surrounding countryside, is a dream ( both for proper swimming of lengths and for sunbathing). I could spend all day here. It is lovely to have a choice of outdoor eating areas for long lunches or relaxing dinners. I love the fact the there are lots of delightful historic Bastide towns within easy driving distance, both for historical sightseeing , fabulous food markets and outstanding restaurants (Auberge Le Prieure at Moirax being my personal favourite !) I have visited the house three times now and each visit has been magic.

Great vacation spent in Le Mas de Combet! Quiet house in the countryside with a superb pool. We were able to enjoy all the amenities on site. Thank you to our host for their excellent welcome and availability throughout the stay. We really recommend this property for a week with friends.

If you're looking for French charm and a true get away, then Le Mas de Combet is the place for you. A beautiful house with everything you need for a trip away with family or friends (the accommodation in the barn is so handy for young familys too). The property has been lovingly and thoughtfully restored plus communication was spot on, it was easy to book and any questions I had were answered promptly.
Lovely old place restored by Frederic. We were lucky enough to be there for the festival in Sauve which was great! Far too hot to go hiking in the hills but managed trips to Uzes ( beautiful) and of course the Haribo museum for the kids. Pool cover needs 2 people and doesn’t come all the way back but it’s for safety. Kitchen well equipped for a large group. Really enjoyed our stay!
We stayed in Maison Rohmer for 11 nights in June and thoroughly enjoyed the house and peaceful setting at the end of a private track. Everything was very clean and well furnished with excellent bathrooms and plenty of hot water. We swam in the pool every day bar one, when there was a big thunderstorm that drenched the area and had a strange effect of gradually turning the colour of the water in the pool to green, but was perfectly ok to swim in. The owner was on hand to answer any queries we had despite being in the USA at the time of our stay, something that we both appreciated greatly. Gordes and the area around was lovely with so many beautiful towns and villages to explore on foot or bike or car, a great area of France to return to again.
Great feeling of space with plenty of room for children to play. Pool was superb and much used. The childrens swimming skills improved immensely. Thank you Takayla for lovely food and for accommodating late arrival and intolerances. Nick and Takayla were available and friendly without being intrusive. A fantastic time was had by all the family. Many thanks and looking forward to next year already.
A stay in immaculate cottage with small front garden and very large pool adjoining the owners beautiful historic house. Charming hosts, very helpful when needed, otherwise considerately discreet. Lovely area with lots to do and visit. Would certainly recommend it for a relaxing holiday.
The incredible thing about this house is that you quickly feel at home there. We are like in a cocoon, magnificent, relaxing, invigorating. We spent 15 incredible days here, a vacation that we will remember for years to come. Amazing corners, an intoxicating sea, enriching discoveries and a group of friends who have become closer thanks to this experience. This villa is of incredible beauty and quality, the breathtaking setting between the view of the sea and the sunset over the Cévennes, the heated swimming pool available at any time of the day and night adds further excellence to the frame. We are here in peace although we have everything we need around, notably in Béziers, Cap d'Agde, Sigean... Spain is very close for an even greater change of scenery. We will return with great joy, thank you very warmly.
We had a lovely time at your house, we really like Pézenas and the surrounding area. The house itself was superb and very well equipped, we and our 18, 20 and 21 year old children were very happy. Being able to enjoy the shops and restaurants in Pézenas then wander back to the tranquillity of the house made for a great holiday.
Our week at the villa was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived we were struck by the peacefulness of the surroundings. The villa itself is beautifully maintained. It was very windy during our stay and Philippe came each morning to clean the pool! We spent hours in the pool - it is just beautiful! Every day brought a new adventure – the wine tasting tour at Le Cave was really interesting (although we did end up spending a fortune! Philippe was just the perfect host – so lovely. The pastries delivered twice weekly were lovely and a huge thank you to Philippe for the birthday cakes for my husband's 60th on the Friday! The meal that Philippe paid for at La Tour was just amazing – so much so we decided to return for birthday celebrations. It has been the kind of stay that recharges you in every way. We are leaving relaxed, inspired and already planning our return! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a serene French escape paired with genuine and caring hospitality! Thank you so much Philippe – we are so so sad to be leaving but wonderful memories made!
We had a lovely relaxing week staying in this wonderful house, which is perfectly located for exploring the area-it was just what we needed. Sarlat is beautiful and we enjoyed learning all about the history of this Medieval town as well as sampling the local cuisine. WE hope to come back soon.
We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in France. We cannot recommend the property highly enough. It is very well equipped, the pool always warm and cleaned daily, in a great location and Jean, Martin and of course Tanner the dog so welcoming and helpful. This was our second time and already planning when we can return!
So much love and thought has gone in to creating the Loft! It shows in every detail, but most importantly, in the ambiance it radiates throughout. You made us feel so very welcome, both before and after our arrival. Your kindness and generosity have meant a great deal to us, and the ‘wine time’ we had with you has been great fun too! We so admire what you have achieved with the Loft and wish you every success with the renovations of the maison de maitre - can’t wait to see the finished article. Thank you for opening your extraordinary home to our extended family. Our holiday at Château Périgord surpassed all expectations. The beauty of the area and of your home are perfect compliments. We enjoyed shopping the local markets and cooking together in the inviting kitchen. We loved our time spent in the pool and playing badminton, as well as the time simply enjoying our pleasant surroundings and views. We explored prehistoric caves and Médiéval villages, we tasted wines of the region, visited famous châteaux, took canoes down the Dordogne river and always ended the day eager to return and enjoy Château Périgord.

We had a great couple of meals in St Émilion and we visited some vineyards. All in all a fabulous holiday. Great hoss, and the house is very well equipped!

This was the most perfect house for our extended family to reconnect and relax in. The house was beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The outside spaces were lovely, with plenty of options for a large group to socialise. We particularly enjoyed the outside kitchen, pool and table tennis in the barn. This has been an exceptional family holiday in your beautiful home with so much care – incredible welcoming brood, cheeses, wines and then several deliveries of pastries and melons during the week. The generosity of this meal in Monday was so welcomed – such an unexpected treat. The villa is so spectacular with really good provisions and the swimming pool where we have spent many happy hours, the BBQ and lots of seating areas. Bedrooms all lovely. We loved the location and did lots of cycling through local villages including Capestang for the market – great to meet the locals and some of us cycled to Béziers. A highlight was driving to Gorge d’Héric for a short walk and a swim in one of the rock pools there and then a drink in the very scenic town of Roquebrun. So much laughter and happiness and memories to be cherished. I would love to return for my 70th, 5 years’ time! Many thanks for an incredible stay helped enormously by sunshine every day.
Back again! We loved our stay here so much we decided to come back and it did not disappoint. The kids loved the pool and we enjoyed both local walks (marked maps provided at the house). Impressive thunder storms and lovely blue skies. Would recommend Castres, Revel and Hautpoul for local trips (all within 30 to 40 minutes drive).
We are finally home and now reflecting on happy memories of our wonderful holiday in France and particularly our 10 nights spent here. Where do we begin to ever thank you for all that you did and for making our holiday so special. We felt like we had our own personal butler looking after us throughout our stay. Even prior to our arrival we welcomed the emails, the ease of booking and then promptly replying to any query that we had , as well as the phone call to offer help and support the week before we were scheduled to arrive. We really appreciated the welcome basket of goodies and all the other little things that you had thoughtfully put in the fridge, making our arrival into the gîte a very warm and welcome one. Your 'blood, sweat and tears' have truly paid off as we could see the attention to detail that has gone in to making this a luxury gîte for your guests. We noticed the quality of furnishings and fittings, bed linen, sumptuous soft towels and then separate towels laid out for us by the pool, all of which made for an exciting stay ahead! The beds were extremely comfortable and accompanied by the peace and tranquility at night meant we both woke each morning feeling fully refreshed! We particularly enjoyed our time spent around the swimming pool and also using the outdoor kitchen/BBQ. Everything was spotlessly clean and we know that you ensured the pool area was cleaned down for us every morning. We were blessed with good weather too. The views from the terrace were stunning and we never tired from sitting there overlooking the local Cuzorn area and the valley beyond. It was a pleasure getting to know you and hearing about your journey from Essex to Lot-et-Garonne. For us, as first guests it was a privilege staying at Lasserre and we will be talking about you and our holiday for years to come. I equally hope that for you and Kate your first guests did not let you down and we have left a wonderful impression on you too! We sincerely hope that you are rewarded for the fruits of your labour and whilst we would like you to have a busy season, just secretly we would like to keep this little bit of heaven purely for us!
First of all, the house was everything we hoped it would be. The facilities inside were excellent and the air conditioning a huge plus especially at night time. The back garden area is superb and met all needs whether you wanted sun, shade, pool, cooking, dining. The area itself has so many varying attractions to meet all needs and ages. Some highlights for us were kayaking in Saint Guilhem de Desert, canyoning in the Gorges d'Heric and this was brilliant. Lazy beach days in Sète and Marseillan, visiting the vineyards at Seignourie de Peyrat (just out the Roujan road) and chill out days by the pool. Pèzenas is a wonderful town and the market on Saturday is a must and favourite restaurants were La Ripalle and Chez Paul. Excellent holiday and the house and its location facilitated this. Thanks.
Now that we have returned to the UK, I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Le Grand Verger - what an amazing house in a fantastic location - just right for our family get together with plenty of space, everything we could ask for in the house and plenty of things to do in the local vicinity without necessarily getting in the car. Yet another Pure France property that has more than met our expectations!
A lovely place to stay. Hospitable reception. Beautiful surroundings within easy reach of Orange, Avignon, Pont du Gard and Uzès. Highly recommended.
