Thank You - If ever there was a place in which a family could be together after such a long time, if ever there was a place in which the sense of welcome, of peace and of the love of many generations, if ever there was a place in one's imagination of such beauty, both within and without ancient walls, then Le Malardier is that place. We have been sublimely happy and this week will remain hugely precious to us all.
We absolutely loved our stay at Château Des Grillauds. It was the pinnacle of our European vacation this summer. This property is full of character, well equipped and comfortable with lots of bedrooms and space. We loved the location with very good local markets almost every day and it is within an hour of Bordeaux and notable vineyards as well as being very central in the Dordogne district. Our kids loved the pool which was heated and kept at 30 °C. We would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you so much.
A challenging end of year led to my very last minute search for somewhere special to stay for Christmas. We jumped for joy when your Loft showed as available for 8 days arriving on Christmas Eve. Throughout the five hour drive from Cannes, I stressed about finding a tree and decorations to make the holiday perfect. To my utter AMAZEMENT, the Loft had been fully decorated beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you so much for all your very thoughtful and generous touches. As a seriously experienced traveller, I can assure you that exceptionally few hosts go to the same lengths as yourselves. You made our Christmas very SPECIAL and, dare I say, UNFORGETTABLE! A lovely and relaxing two weeks at the most beautiful villa! An amazing spacious villa that has been perfect for our family with plenty of space for us all. We absolutely loved the swimming pool and were in it everyday! Our holiday has made even more special by our attentive host Philippe. Philippe made us feel very welcome with some lovely wines and bread, spoilt with breakfast pastries. The location was brilliant and we enjoyed talking to the bakery daily and enjoyed days out in nearby villages. Though most of the time we were just enjoying the villa! As cat lovers we adored the cats that we would see through the gardens and provided them with water in the hot days and some treats! Thank you so much for the most enjoyable holiday!
We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful home. The kitchen and living area was so spacious and comfortable and the outside space was equally ideal. The pool was delightful and spacious allowing the six of us to enjoy it at the same time. The kitchen had everything we could ask for - literally home from home. The only regret about this holiday was having only one week there as it wasn’t long enough! We most definitely would return.

Breathtaking. What a hidden gem! All the fotos of Château Velouse do not do the place justice. From the minute you enter the gates and see this magnificent château, glowing in the sunshine at the end of a sweeping drive, you know you are in for a treat. Our wonderful hosts. Claire and Phil greeted us and gave us a tour of the main building and grounds. The interior is exquisitely appointed. All the rooms are large and meticulously clean. The bedrooms are huge and comfortable without being over-fussy. The bathroom - lion clawed bath and walk-in shower - what more could you ask for after a hard day sitting beside the spotlessly clean and well-maintained outdoor pool. There's plenty of places within an hour to explore close by, so if sun-worshipping isn't your thing, like me, go to Bourges and wander around this medieval city, All in all, Château Velouse is an experience I'll never forget and one I hope to revisit

What an amazing chateau you have, breathtaking; everything that we needed and more. We have enjoyed 1 wonderful week, wish it could have been more. Julie, Paul and Steven - you have been fantastic, always on hand for advice and support and ideas. Especially enjoyed our ‘feast’ in the Dining Room celebrating Alan’s 70th birthday with laughter and some lovely memories that will stay with us all forever. We had the best time. A beautiful villa and pool with access to a good range of restaurants/pubs. Thank you so much for your generous deliveries of breakfast. Super meal at Restaurant 781. We spent most of the holiday relaxing by the pool. Had a couple of visits to the locks (Canal du Midi). Very beautiful and the bus into Béziers was fun. Our two-year-old grandson wanted to stay in our holiday house and told me he didn't want to go back to Orpington! I'd quite like to stay here too.

We are off on an amazing two weeks in Le Malardier, a house full of character and so spacious. Thank you Gay and Richard. Our American friends explored the area but we Brits who do not see the sun as much as them were more than happy to lounge around the pool. There was everything you could want in the house and the children were delighted with the toys in the attic! This is a beautiful part of France, the views are spectacular. We found some great restaurants and enjoyed the local culture. Au Revoir.
We have had a wonderful week at Château du Pic de Rigaud and enjoyed every minute! The weather has got better and better and we've had perfect days by the pool. The château has been incredibly comfortable and provided everything we needed. We have enjoyed exploring Najac including the Wednesday evening market. Thank you to Henrietta and Peter for all your help and bookings. We will miss this wonderful house and grounds and our morning walks to the Boulangerie. We hope to return.
We stayed in the the villa in Cagnes-sur-Mer and I just wanted to say what a superb holiday we had. The villa was absolutely perfect with everything we could possibly need. It's ideally situated if you do not want to have a car as shops, restaurants, beaches, train station are only 5-10 minutes walk away. We would certainly recommend this villa.
Villa du Château exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed, and Claire’s warm hospitality made us feel at home straight away. What makes this place truly unique is the perfect balance it offers. You wake up to breathtaking countryside views, complete peace and quiet, yet within just a couple of minutes’ walk you’re in the heart of Duras, with its castle, cafés, restaurants, markets and local shops. The house itself is absolutely stunning—beautifully restored, full of character, incredibly spacious and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Whether you’re relaxing by the private pool, enjoying long meals in the outdoor kitchen, watching the sunset from the terrace, or gathering with family and friends in one of the many living areas, every space invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. We were a multi-generational group, and everyone had an amazing time. Adults loved the peaceful setting and the nearby wineries and restaurants, teenagers enjoyed the lively atmosphere in the village, and the children had endless fun between the pool, the gardens and exploring the château. It is rare to find a property that is both so tranquil and so close to everything. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, celebrate with family, or simply experience the charm of southwest France, Villa du Château is the perfect place. Without a doubt, one of the finest holiday homes we’ve ever stayed in—and somewhere we would return to in a heartbeat.
Had an amazing time with the family at this beautiful château. Tucked away among adorable little villages, a slice of pure tranquility. It's a place where everything is beautiful and well taken care of. And the pool an absolute gem, a spot where you can relax and soak in the stunning scenery. We loved the laid-back vibe while still things were top-notch in terms of comfort and charm.

Such bliss, stunning retreat with luxury home comforts We have stayed 2 years in a row and have loved every minute. Relaxing, peaceful, comfortable luxury accommodation with everything a family or group could wish for. Manoir de Saux is very well appointed, with luxurious beds and lovely en suites. The heated pool is generous, as are the grounds and reception areas. Set in tranquil countryside yet within a short drive of picturesque historic towns.
Le Malardier is delightful. It is so much more than just a holiday home. Every room makes you want to step inside. The house has been so sympathetically restored and is quite clearly a labour of love. Richard and Gay were also the perfect hosts and couldn't have done more to welcome us. If your thinking of booking a week or two at Malardier, do it. You won't be disappointed.

Sam's place was what we were looking for for a family with kids of 12 and 10 respectively. Accessibility of the Lot Valley and Dordogne meant there were plenty of options for outings and facilities to be explored and enjoyed for adults and kids alike. Very local night markets were also a highlight of our stay. The property was very well equipped with indoor games and with equipment to enjoy the outdoor spaces. It is exceedingly quiet and peaceful with few cars passing by which makes for a very relaxing and restful environment for time spent at the property. We left feeling very well refreshed.
We have absolutely loved our stay in this perfect house. The pool has been a necessity due to temps in mid-high. All in all, it's been a wonderful fortnight and we've enjoyed rediscovering places that we visited here 20 years ago.
Highly Enjoyable Stay! We were here 18 years ago and enjoyed it even more this time. It got to 40C during the day, so the new air conditioning unit was particularly appreciated at night-time. Very many thanks.
