This is the second time we had spent time at this property so we were a bit more familiar with area. I struggle to think of a better location to holiday than this area of Provence, it has everything, beautiful countryside, restaurants, vineyards and historic villages. One eats outside all the time as the evenings are warm and balmy and in this respect this property is blessed with a superb view looking across the valley to Vaison-la-Romaine and the Dentelles in the distance. There is complete privacy with the nearest neighbour being a considerable distance from the house. Inside the house is spacious and beautifully laid out contrasting with its former farmhouse origins. If you want relaxation but with loads to do in the area then I really cannot think of a better place to stay for a summer holiday.
Lovely property, lots of space and well equipped. Play room added bonus. Caroline responded very promptly and efficiently when we discovered a wasp nest!
Amazing space of the house led to us having the best family holiday ever for 9 adults and three young children. The outdoor areas are equally fantastic, the pool, Japanese garden with pizza oven was greatly appreciated and we would love to come back and see our host Katie again.
Perfect family retreat First time visiting Charente and we could not have been happier with La Charmante Distillerie. It was ideal for my grandparents with bedrooms on the ground floor and easy walking to a beautiful terrace and pool. The Gite is located in a forest and the views are stunning. The focus on sustainability was good to see, especially all the fruit trees and herbs for cooking. Mark’s attention to detail was superb and he was so helpful with recommendation and local knowledge. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend as a tranquil getaway.
We had a lovely holiday at Château Perigord and are now sadly back in the UK.
We had a lovely stay with 14 adults and 4 little ones (10 months - 3 years). For starters, the pool: big enough, seats for everyone and enough shadow. The patio: magnificent view, spacious, enough shadow under the big tree and a covered dining space with both a BBQ and a plancha where we had all our meals. The house: perfect to our needs. Bedrooms with space for beds for the kids, almost every room had a private bath room and more than enough space. We had two days with bad weather, no problem we split up in groups where one group could play one of the available board games and another one playing the available PS and another one playing together with the little ones. The kitchen had everything and there was an extra toilet for use during the day. On top of this, there was a nice pétanque range, ping pong table, pool table, basket ring with all supplies available, more than enough parking space (we had 7 cars).
Fabulous time - lovely area. Enjoyed the markets, some great restaurants, playing water volleyball and drinking and buying lots of wine!
Our week at Maison Charvin from Arlo, the family dog. My family thinks that Maison Charvin is simply beautiful: opulently furnished, exquisitely decorated. More of a château than a maison. That said, my mummy says it’s not pretentious but cosy and homely, much appreciated on the unusually slightly chilly and windy days for part of our stay. The pool has provided instant relief for my family when the weather has been hot and sunny. My human brothers’ favourite space is the very relaxing courtyard where my mummy and I have dozed off on numerous occasions! My daddy has very much enjoyed reading many books from the vast collection. The house is deceptively large, providing ample chilling space for everyone, including me after a hot day in the sun. We enjoyed visiting Trebes (on the Canal), Carcassonne, Lagrasse and the dog-friendly beach in Narbonne. My family enjoyed the pizza which they ordered from the pizza van by the church on Thursday late afternoon. They also had baguettes and pastries (ordered in advance) from Aurelien at Vins de Dagne.
What a gem! What a find! You have thought of it all down to lavender sachets in the drawers. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your delightful house in the most charming of places. We love all things duck and Sarlat offers the best. Exploring the surrounding countryside has been a pure pleasure. We had the good fortune of spending June in Sarlat and enjoyed the village come alive with music. We hope to come again and thank you.
Thank you both for such wonderful hospitality. We've had a much needed peaceful and relaxing stay at Colombat. The surroundings are beautiful and it has been fascinating to learn about the history of WW2 in this region.

Mas du Château is really beautiful and tastefully finished. Great location with beautiful views and surrounded by villages to visit. We were the first to rent and we can say that everything was planned for comfort and well thought out for the party (beautiful lights and sound system available). I totally recommend! Thank you and keep it up! :)
My husband and I with 2 children ( 10 and 12 yrs) stayed in Le Borghesia for one week and it was absolutely bliss. The house is cool and a lovely temperature to return to from the sun, well equipped with dishwasher, large fridge freezer, washing machine and drier. Large confortable sofas and a smart TV ensured the kids were super happy after lazy days by the pool, bike rides or canoeing on the Dordogne. All within a short bike ride away. It is a very private spot, with no traffic or noise apart from the birds and of course when Victoire lovely dogs came to say hello. Its a huge house and huge pool, so can easily accomadate 8 people with plenty of luxury sun loungers, chairs, parasols and even a lovely french barn beside the pool.. I must mention the pool again because it is beautiful !!!
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. Perfect! Our stay in the L’Ancienne Etable was 5 star. Jane and Richard have thought of everything to make this the perfect pad for two. Peaceful and relaxing, we would highly recommend and hope to return again soon.
You do have a little piece of heaven carved out here - we enjoyed it all.

We have just spent 2 very enjoyable weeks at Villa Montplaisir. The villa is equipped to a very high standard and Thierry was informative and helpful throughout our stay. The apricot tree kept us well supplied with fresh fruit each morning... delicious. The town centre is only a 10 minute walk and offers a variety of bars and restaurants to suit most tastes. There is a market 3 times a week which has the usual buzz and good choice of fresh food stalls. We would recommend the villa as a very good base to visit both the coast and hinterland.
The gite is beautifully furnished and very comfortable, the hosts Kirstie and Russell have made sure you have everything you need for your break. There is a lovely private seating area outside with dining area, hot tub and patio which looks out onto the orchard and fields. Wonderful place to stay in a great location for visiting local vineyards and historical towns and villages.

A perfect place for a family stay. A large well equipped property that is decorated with great taste. There is something for all generations both inside and out including indoor and outdoor games for children. A great television room with a large choice of DVDs for both children and adults. Magnificent garden – great for aperitifs and barbeques and a beautiful swimming pool. The house was immaculate when we arrived. Our visit was unforgettable and we will certainly be coming back.
We were a group of 7 adults and have had the most fabulous week in your villa. It is so unusual for a villa to work on every level, but yours really did. So much space – and so very well thought through with absolutely everything you might need supplied. And yes – far better than the pictures suggested. We greatly appreciated the cheese + wine on arrival – the bread + pâté through the week – and of course the meal at La Tour, which was just amazing! We made good use of the bikes (coldly wet!) and made our way to Montady a few times (a lovely ride on the cycle path). We visited Béziers, Carcassonne + Minerve – but most importantly – we were able to relax + chat and laugh! Thank you Philippe. What a great week.

Mas Saint-Martial has everything you could wish for included in the price and everything was clean and tidy on our arrival with a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. Verteillac is only 10 minutes away and has some lovely little shops and the local area has excellent markets also. One of the best restaurants we found was Le Cours de Miracles in Verteillac which has beautiful food at a very reasonable price. We received a really warm welcome from the owners, who live next door. They were always on hand if we needed anything, but very discreet also and gave us total privacy.
We could not have made a better decision than to come to Villa La Baronne to spend the end of the year. The house is magnificent, the location unbeatable both for the surroundings (the river, the forest, the small towns...) and the proximity to Toulouse. The house has the services you expect and much more. An excellent experience that I hope we can repeat again. Thanks to Isabelle and Philippe for offering Villa La Baronne guests a five-star stay. Just a quick note to thank you for organising our week’s holiday at Domaine de Brugairolles. We had a great time all together and enjoyed being at the Domaine. Annoyingly the weather wasn’t very good which slightly changed the dynamics of the holiday! But we enjoyed visiting Carcassonne, Mirepoix and Limoux – it’s a very attractive part of France. The four houses are well appointed and comfortable. The swimming pool area with the fabulous kitchen/dining/lounging area is great. The kitchen has all one wants with lots of fridges. It’s the real highlight of the venue! We also enjoyed being close to the Vineyard, its restaurant and its separate bar. The walks too all around the vineyard and the sleepy village of Brugairolles are great. Another plus are all the sporting facilities. Zoe, the Manager, was extremely helpful, cooked and left us a delicious dinner on the night of our arrival and was generally friendly as was her daughter Melissa. Many thanks again for your help.
A rental that keeps its promises: the place is charming, the house pleasant and clean, the equipment very complete, the swimming pool with a magnificent view of the Dordogne. We received a very warm welcome and particularly appreciated the welcome basket. The geographical location is ideal for visiting from Sarlat to Bergerac and exploring the Dordogne valley with its magnificent castles, bastides and vineyards. We really liked your house (nothing disappointed us) and we will keep fond memories of this stay. The setting, the decor and the equipment make it a particularly appreciable place to stay.
The property is set in lovely grounds; away from it all yet close to the bastide towns of Monpazier and Villereal. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, which is well kept and maintained on a regular basis by one of the locals. The house is comfortable and equipped with everything you need.
