This is a wonderful place to stay: we, a couple, spent two weeks at Carcavi in September 2022. We wanted a quiet break in comfort and luxury and the house was everything we had hoped for and more. The house itself is very well equipped and has comfy seating and a good bed :-) Carcavi is spacious and beautiful, the grounds are extensive and the pool is excellent. It is very peaceful. There was a generous hamper of food and drink items to get us started. The whole property is cared for to a high standard. There is lots of information in the house itself and of course more is readily available from hosts Rupert and Debbie. We read a lot, enjoying the various places to sit, we swam and M examined the varied local plants and invertebrates with enthusiasm. We enjoyed walks in the adjacent woods and valley. Thanks so much to Rupert and Debbie for letting us use the house phone to call the duty chemist when the urgent need arose, really appreciated.
Thank you! We have had a wonderful stay at your beautiful guest house. The decor is absolutely stunning and Susanne and I have been coveting your crockery and cacti for 2 weeks. Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Villa Montplaisir. This is a lovely villa in a nice location. The owner could not have been more helpful and we were provided with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
We have been using Pure France regularly for many years and we have always stayed in fabulous Villas in great locations. However, we feel that Maison des Communes has just raised the bar for us in terms of the quality of the Villa with its many separate buildings and exotic furnishings. The pool was great and perfectly aligned to catch the Languedoc, Occitanie sunshine all day. And the welcome from the Owners really made us feel welcome and valued as a Customer. They even helped us carry our luggage in from the car! We were so impressed that less then 24 hours after arrival we have already booked for the next year. We cannot wait to return. 5 / 5
We had a wonderful week at Manoir Coutenson. The spacious house is very well equipped. The swimming pool is incredibly warm and the children (even the baby) spent hours in it. The shaded area by the pool was essential as the weather was really hot. We loved the area. It is fairly rural but with easy access to the town. The house is very child friendly with toys, high chairs and plastic bowls and plates and lots of pool accessories. All of which were appreciated by our 5 grandchildren. A fabulous, relaxing holiday. A fantastic week at the villa. We were lucky enough to get a last minute booking when travel restrictions were listed. We were slightly anxious about travelling in these times but always felt safe and welcomed be the locals. We're so pleased we did come! The villa is very well equipped and Frederic was so informative and helpful. The massive selling point for us was the gorgeous pool and gardens as well as the stunning setting and amazing views from every angle! We spent many nights eating cheese and drinking wine while watching the sun set and then gazing at the star-rider sky. This is definitely one of the most beautiful parts of France we've been too. We enjoyed the local morning's and night's markets in Duras, kayaking down the Dropt river and would recommend visiting local town/villages like Eymet, Villeréal and others mentioned in the guide. St Emilion is also a family favorite and is a must-visit! We now have a car full of wine! Thanks for an amazing week! We hope to be back soon.
A great week where 3 generations could spend time together relaxing around the comfortable farmhouse, great pool and expansive gardens. The house was very well equipped and being mostly fortunate with the weather, we ate outside on the terraces making full use of the BBQ provided. Monpazier is delightful and Villereal has a wonderfully colourful market. We thoroughly recommend this property as a holiday choice.
Our week of vacation spent in your property was a success. The house is spotless, very, very clean and with a lot of attention (welcome products in the bathrooms, recent and clean linen, welcome basket, games). The barn with the ping pong table, darts, table football, billiards and where we could play sports, is wonderful. The long walks around the vines with Tutus delighted me, despite the showers. The Super U in Mirambeau has a very nice butcher's department. The meat is excellent. The fish department, with its oysters, shrimps and fish is also excellent. Tracy goes to great lengths to keep everything spotless when the vacationers arrive. The bouquet of fresh flowers on the table when we arrived was another attention that everyone noted.
This is our second family holiday in this wonderful house. The welcome from Ian and Hugh when we arrived was excellent. The house and garden are beautifully cared for and the standard of accommodation is 'five star'. It felt like home from home rather than a soleless rental property. Having the owners on site was a plus as they where able to guide us with local activities and restaurant recommendations... there is a lot to do in this area and being so close to some of the best wine regions in the world is definitely a big plus. We also has a lovely day in Bordeaux, which is an easy drive or train journey and well worth the effort. We plan to return next year for our summer break and I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful peaceful haven to anyone wishing to experience the best in hospitality! The apartment has amazing views and the balcony is such a lovely place to sit and relax whilst looking out to sea. It's so spacious and also has a dining table for al fresco meals. A huge supermarket is literally opposite the apartment. It's easy to get a train to the big resorts - Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice. Trains are quick and if you nip upstairs you get fabulous views of the coast! We also recommend 'booking bikies' located at the marina. It's so easy to cycle around with dedicated cycle lanes along the whole coast. We cycled into Antibes twice, a lovely town and well worth a visit. The ride is completely flat and takes about 25 minutes. Great for an early morning run too! Along the seafront there are numerous restaurants and places to enjoy a drink.
A beautiful house which we have enjoyed, lovely to swim in the pool, enjoy the views and sunshine. Very well equipped kitchen much appreciated, we shall return.
Great place in a lovely part of the Lot valley. The house comfortably can sleep 18 or so. Lovely pool and grounds with a sports hall with plenty of options to keep kids busy. Must have a car when staying. The owners Richard and Nicky are very helpful if need anything at all. Lovely wine cave as well (stocked). Great week had by all.

We had a great time exploring the markets at Bergerac, Riberac, Périgueux and Saint-Astier. We enjoyed the sunshine win the terrace with a glass of wine and a good book. Perfect.
This house has everything you are looking for as a family wanting peace and quiet while also indulging in your own pool. The host, has set up her house for the ease of her visitors meaning you can just walk in and feel at home. We asked for cleaning half way through our stay that was completed while we were out on a trip. The location. Seillans is a beautiful historic picture post card village on the side of a hill. It is quiet but has many restaurants that are of high calibre all set against fountains and under large trees. Further afield there are other villages to visit and plenty of shops/restaurants to keep you fed and watered. We visited Cannes as this is only about 50 minutes by car and it is a beautiful place with its beach. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable holiday.
Our family loved staying in this farmhouse. We couldn't get the kids out of the pool, the sunsets were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the birds fly all around us. It was a great place to come home to after a full day of sightseeing. Very relaxing!
This is our last night staying at Les Jumelles and we are all sad to be leaving your wonderful house and garden. We only have good memories of our stay and you have made us feel extremely relaxed during the last two weeks. The weather has been perfect for lots of fun spent in the swimming pool and whilst also enjoying your fantastic garden.
A wonderful first week to our holidays. The house is wonderfully renovated and has everything a family can wish! We also had the chance of a very warm weather which gave us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great terrace and had al fresco dining every day. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful property. PS: The Auberge St Jean is a must eat in the area!
Thank you so much for yet another fantastic vacation here at your lovely Camirout. This year the weather has been perfect so we really enjoyed our trips to Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, the caves and canoeing on the River Du Auemant-du-Dropt. We will luckily see each other again next year - only 50 weeks to go!
Beautiful location really nice house, swimming pool is delightful. Large safe garden for children. Remote but easy to find and within easy driving distance of all the facilities you need for a great holiday.
We have just finished a very relaxing and enjoyable two week stay in Mas Saint-Martial. The house was very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. The garden is large with plenty of shade to enjoy when the weather is warm. The pool is one of the nicest we have enjoyed in any of gites we have stayed at in France. Long enough to swim for exercise and comfortably warm. The owners live in the adjacent building and were very welcoming and able to advise about local shopping, restaurants, but not at all intrusive. This is a quiet corner of rural France, but there was plenty to see and visit locally, with easy access to bakery and shops and good restaurants nearby. Some of the best value was the lunch in the local restaurant in Saint Martial.

We have had a wonderful and memorable two weeks here. You both have been very helpful and thoughtful. Highlights for us were relaxing by the pool, the great markets at Cahors and Prayssac, the daily petit déjeuner at Chez Lajo and C. using Frans' smoker and BBQ! We are looking forward to returning!
I had a week in August and had a wonderful time. The property was immaculate and extremely well appointed. The location beautiful and exceeded expectations. I also wanted to share the fantastic hospitality of the host, Debbie. There were homemade yoghurts in the morning and a private yoga session arranged. Recommendations on restaurants and places to see. This was all done without being pushy or infringing on our holiday or privacy in any way.
