Breathtaking. What a hidden gem! All the fotos of Château Velouse do not do the place justice. From the minute you enter the gates and see this magnificent château, glowing in the sunshine at the end of a sweeping drive, you know you are in for a treat. Our wonderful hosts. Claire and Phil greeted us and gave us a tour of the main building and grounds. The interior is exquisitely appointed. All the rooms are large and meticulously clean. The bedrooms are huge and comfortable without being over-fussy. The bathroom - lion clawed bath and walk-in shower - what more could you ask for after a hard day sitting beside the spotlessly clean and well-maintained outdoor pool. There's plenty of places within an hour to explore close by, so if sun-worshipping isn't your thing, like me, go to Bourges and wander around this medieval city, All in all, Château Velouse is an experience I'll never forget and one I hope to revisit
We have enjoyed every moment of our holiday here. We wanted to get away from our busy lives in London…and we did! Lounging by the pool or in hammocks, followed by evenings with delicious BBQs. Pézenas is a sweet little town with great places to eat and shop. Visit the market on Saturday for an explosion of the senses! We can't wait wait to return next summer.
Thank you so much for letting the house to us. We had a fantastic 2 weeks and the house worked really well for us all with so much space and everything we needed to have a fantastic holiday. It is a beautiful spot and we all managed to enjoy things-swimming, walking, cycling, horse riding, wineries and particularly the evening markets. We really had a wonderful vacation.
An extra stay with friends (a dozen with adults, teenagers and children) in a magical place... a natural site of great beauty, as magnificent day or night under the stars; a superbly renovated Mas, where the character of the old stones combines with great comfort (equipment, bedding, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.), space for everyone, huge rooms and more than careful decoration. original, each object, each piece of furniture is chosen with great spirit and arouses curiosity. Everyone found their privacy and activity of the day there (picnic by the river, shopping in very picturesque Anduze, reading by the swimming pool, Cévennes walk... and even revision of the Baccalaureate in a calm environment!). Very appreciable preparation of the place by the owners and attention to our arrival. See you next year for sure... We would like to sleep in all the rooms!
Thank you for a truly fabulous week at Mas de Clouze. The accommodation, pool and grounds were just perfect and the owners so friendly and helpful. We didn’t want to return home and will be back next year.
Very beautiful house in Périgord. The house is sublime. A perfect blend of rustic, tradition and modern comfort. Wonderfully restored. And 5 bathrooms for 5 bedrooms is rare. Huge fireplace, perfect for a week at Christmas. Very well equipped. And Florence greeted us with kindness and is very responsive to questions and requests.

Have had a great two weeks here in your wonderful house. Very spacious and well-appointed, tasteful and comfortable. Boys have thoroughly enjoyed the pool. We have appreciated tranquility and privacy. We have enjoyed exploring the area and sampling the local cuisine. Restaurant recommendations include Hotel-Restaurant du Château in Campagne, Auberge Médiévale Audrix and for rustic but delicious farmhouse cuisine - Auberge Rebeyrotte near Pressigirac Vicq. A wonderful family break in a tranquil spot, our family has made wonderful memories, watching the shooting stars on the balcony.
We have spent a short yet sweet time in Maison Saint-Julien. It was a perfect place to stay and we couldn’t ask for much more! Main highlights were chilling by the pool and enjoying a dusk on the top deck. A drink in the little bar on the town square was perfect.
Such a nice place! Great location for some R&R. The pool was perfect with weather being hot and humid.
I had very high expectations for this accommodation, based on the photos and descriptions. But the castle was even more incredible than we dared to imagine. We were four families, 15 in total, on a graduation trip across Europe. It's the only place we could all be together and our days there were the highlight of our trip. This place is PERFECT for large gatherings. So much room, so many places where we could all be together. Amazing food. The pool was awesome. I can't say enough how perfect it was for our group.
Fabulous house and grounds – loved it. Very high standard, cleanliness, and equipment. Ideal for 3 generations – children loved the playroom. Two catered meals – excellent and much appreciated. Very friendly and hospitable hosts couldn't do enough for us.
What a wonderful holiday we have had. We are familiar with the region but La Tourouzelle offers the most amazing place for a holiday: fabulous views to the Pyrénées, a comfortable, well-equipped home and a fantastic pool! There is so much to do here - lovely bastide towns and villes perchées and lots of fêtes and festivals. We have particularly enjoyed the fête at Fanjeaux, the views from the Collégiale at Montréal, a late night walk around la Cité at Carcassonne, the fête du Cassoulet at Castelnaudary and the festival de Pétanque at Limoux. We look forward to another visit.
A perfect holiday. The house receives sunlight from morning to evening, giving a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The villa is beautifully decorated, very clean and offers great privacy. The pool and terrace were our favourite spots. Excellent communication with the host.
We stayed from July 22 to 29, 2023 in Les Trois Maisons de Valescure. 4 generations, 19 people. Our stay was very pleasant, magnificent hikes, visits - Cotignac is a little marvel, like on the postcards - swimming pool, both logistically and environmentally. Perfect equipment for the twenty-somethings that we were. Thomas contributed to the success of our stay thanks to his attention and efficient responsiveness and excellent communication.
Villa du Château is simply exceptional. This beautifully restored listed historic home has been renovated with great care and offers an outstanding level of comfort and amenities. A special mention goes to the pool area and outdoor summer kitchen, which are wonderfully designed and make it easy to spend the entire day outdoors—from breakfast and lunch to afternoon snacks and dinner—without ever needing to return to the main house. The property enjoys a truly ideal location, just a two-minute walk from both the Château de Duras and the heart of the village, where you’ll find all the local shops and amenities, while still enjoying complete peace and quiet. Claire’s recommendations, both before and during our stay, allowed us to make the most of both the house and the surrounding region.

The villa is beautifully decorated and we have all found it vey comfortable. We've have two lovely weeks exploring the surrounding area, without a single minute of television! Fabulous week learning about wine in an amazing setting. Manoir Lemance is the most wonderful, tranquil and stylish place I have stayed in France and I have stayed in many. The owners have taken great care and attention in restoring the beautiful buildings, choosing the internal furnishings and creating the amazing swimming pool and grounds. We were warmly welcomed and looked after really well all week. The local area is full of amazing villages, great vineyards and beautiful countryside. If you are looking for a very French holiday with the added support of English speaking hosts, in the most beautiful setting, then this is the place for you.
We have just returned from a very successful holiday in Villa Bellara. We were seven (incl two children) in week one and two for most of week two. We were certainly comfortable. The villa is situated in a quiet residential road, so no problems with early morning noise! It is about eight minutes walk from an excellent patisserie for buying croissants etc for breakfast, with an excellent fruit shop opposite. A supermarket is a little further, but easily reached. The beach is about 12 minutes walk. Access to other locations is simple via Cagnes station, (eg Nice or Cannes) and there is a free bus to Cagnes en Haut which is well worth a visit. The property is excellently maintained, the kitchen equipment first class and well thought out. There is a splendid terrace overlooking the pool, with an awning over the dining table which seated us all comfortably. In the evening, the small garden has under lighters under the trees and at midnight, sprays raise up from the grass to water it. The garden, though small, is well maintained, with hedges all round making it very private. We had a most enjoyable, memorable holiday.
What a wonderful week! The villa is full of elegant and eclectic touches and the outside areas are divine. The pool is just perfect and the shade was needed this week when it was very hot (but not as hot as back home - thank goodness!) Beziers is lovely and there are plenty of places to visit near by. Philippe - you were a wonderful host providing recommendations when asked and keeping the pool sparkling clean. The treats you delivered were fabulous as was the trip you organised to Saint Chinian. Excellent home and facilities. Everything exceeded our expectations. Lovely space. Catering: deicious - it was so lovely to arrive to hot food after a long journey and to not have to worry about shopping for the first few days. Friendly and approachable service. We had a fantastic holiday and will book again for next year. Thank you both so much!
Galina was a great and accommodating host and we appreciated our stay at her villa. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. Just note that the connected rooms on the first floor have separate entrance. More generally and even thought there are a couple of elements which could be improved, we certainly will recommend renting the villa.
We had a wonderful stay, the house is very large, designed perfectly, very comfortable and recommended for anyone who loves peace and quiet in a perfect setting. The local town Monsegur is a very short car ride away, or a 20 minute walk. A few lovely shops and restaurants welcome you here. If you love nature there are some excellent walks amongst the grapevines and natural walkways. Evening dining at the house is wonderful as there is a large outdoor space by the private pool. The pool is 10 mtrs and recently installed. Aircon to cool the bedrooms before bedtime makes for a comfortable nights sleep. We have holidayed in this area of France almost 20 times but this accommodation is the best that we have had. All together a perfect, luxurious place to stay, attention to detail here is excellent, Christophe is the perfect host.
This is a beautiful property and it is well taken care of. We had everything we could possibly think of to enjoy an amazing weekend with family. I imagine this estate as a perfect venue for anything from a group holiday to a wedding. We would definitely stay again.
The house is absolutely perfect for a large group. The bedrooms are all hotel standard and there is so much space that the house never feels cramped. The outside space is great, and we spent most of our time on the water! The view is incredible!
