We really had an enjoyable holiday. The house was perfect for our needs and the garden was just a joy. In fact the actual is better than the pictures on the website. It was a perfect stay for us as we were looking for a quiet time with privacy. The location itself was perfect as it was close by the liveliness of the Mediterranean coast.
This beautiful, secluded cottage is in the grounds of a historic house, both of which have been painstakingly restored by our hosts. It contains all you could need for a self-catering holiday, although there is an excellent local restaurant in the village, only five minutes walk away and others in local villages. The large private swimming pool is an added bonus. We used this as the base for a week's exploration of the Dordogne. Thonac is plum in the middle of the historic / pre-historic area of the Dordogne; the caves of Lascaux, famous for the pre-historic cave paintings, are just down the road and there are numerous ancient cave settlements nearby. A little further away, you can visit the castle at Castelnaud and its fascinating collection of ancient weaponry. We also ventured as far afield as Périgueux and Rocamadour, carrying out an in-depth investigation of the local cuisine as we went. To cap it all, Caterina and Steve are wonderful welcoming hosts, more than happy to chat about the history of the property and potential outings in the local area and keen to make sure their guests have everything they need. Highly recommended. Finally, I would like to thank you and everyone at Pure France for the excellent service you have provided this year and am looking forward to another successful year with you.
We would like to thank Terry and Carol for allowing us to have a great family vacation. The house was perfect and faithful to the photos. The access to the secure pool allowed us to appreciate this place even more with our children.

Spacious and very pleasant house, in a quiet area, close to shops and restaurants . Welcoming and responsive host. Pool clean and so refreshing in hot weather. The village is very pretty and lively in the summer. We'll be back.
Thank you so much for your hospitality and attentiveness during our week with you. Your property really is the most wonderful place - both to stay and to explore this part of France. The gardens provide both a sense of space and tranquility - the pool and its surrounding terrace is a real sun trap and as the days turn to evening the raised terrace at the front of the property is just ideal for those pre-dinner drinks, enjoying the conversation while soaking up the amazing view across the rolling countryside as the sun goes down - perfect. We particularly loved the atmosphere and seclusion of the rear courtyard and the outdoor kitchen and lounge area was a delight for our al fresco dining! The other beauty of the property is its great location which provides a base for touring around the region - fantastic. We are both looking forward to coming out again ! Thanks again.
Merci! We have spent a wonderful week in your beautiful and charming home. It is so well equipped with everything that we would possibly need. We all loved the swimming pool and our 2 girls had great fun on the trampoline and playing ping-pong. We were delighted to visit Montsoreau again, 9 years after out last visit and 2 children now added to the mix. We had another lovely dinner at Le Montsoreau watching the glorious sunset over the Loire. Fresh bread every morning from Long was a treat. The weather has been perfect and the days with some cloud cover gave us great relief. Thank you for your hospitality.

Excellent home and facilities. Everything exceeded our expectations. Lovely space. Catering: deicious - it was so lovely to arrive to hot food after a long journey and to not have to worry about shopping for the first few days. Friendly and approachable service. Wonderful house in an amazing location. What a fantastic trip, based in a wonderful house in an amazing location. An opportunity to discover and explore parts of the Dordogne which we hadn't seen before. Helped by the in house guides who, fortunately, selected Daglan, for dinner at La Petit Paris. What a charming village! We leave refreshed by a relaxing stay in the wonderful weather and lovely company.
Our recent family getaway in the South of France, close to Sommières, was made extra special by the delightful Provencal-style house we had the pleasure of calling home. From the moment we arrived, we felt a genuine sense of comfort and relaxation. The exterior of the house, surrounded by beautiful gardens set the tone for a peaceful stay. Inside, the Provencal charm continued with tasteful decor that blended traditional and modern elements seamlessly. The attention to detail in each room created an inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The living areas were spacious yet cozy, providing the perfect setting for family time. The well-equipped kitchen made meal prep a breeze, and the comfortable bedrooms offered a good night's sleep after days filled with exploration. One of the highlights was the outdoor spaces. The terrace, overlooking the scenic countryside, became a favorite spot for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The pool was a refreshing retreat, perfect for unwinding under the sun. The house's location proved to be convenient for exploring Sommières Uzes, and Nîmes, charming towns with a lot to offer. Returning to the house after our daily adventures felt like returning to a peaceful oasis. In conclusion, our stay in this Provencal-style house near Sommières was a wonderful experience. It provided a perfect balance of comfort, charm, and convenience for our family retreat. If you're looking for a relaxed and welcoming haven in the South of France, this house is a gem that we wholeheartedly recommend.

I just wanted to feed back what a lovely time we had in the villa a couple of weeks ago. The holiday was well worth waiting for and the villa delivered on all levels. We were certainly very grateful for the pool to cool off from the sweltering 40c heat and the lovely shaded areas surrounding the pool helped too. Most importantly, our mums had a lovely time. They were each able to have an ensuite bathroom which gave them their own space and privacy and thoroughly enjoyed the pool - even enjoying a splash about with an inflatable dolphin at one stage! (not bad for an 80 year old!) Please pass on our grateful thanks to the owners for allowing us the extra day for free and also allowing our early arrival which made things much easier on the Saturday. The Mums were already in the pool by the time we got back from the supermarket on the Saturday morning. A great success all round, excellent service from Pure France during all the covid changes and a wonderful villa too. Thank you

Just wanted to say what a great three weeks we’ve had at Le Grand Verger. The house is superb… we are looking at a repeat holiday, returning next year Once again, an outstanding holiday in outstanding surroundings, thank you!
We have been looking forward to our week here for a very long time (due to Covid restrictions) and it did not disappoint! The garden and house are beautiful and we all loved the pool. We could have happily stayed in the garden all week but we did tear ourselves away to see Saumur, Villandry and Montsoreau. Our children, 5 and 9, particularly enjoyed the Châetau and gardens at Villandry. Thank you for a wonderful week and a warm welcome - the fizz and roses were so lovely. We hope to return.
First things first - Karen, Russell and the girls (Mack and Mabel) are wonderful hosts. Warm, friendly, thoughtful and yet discreet. They love what they're doing and it shows as nothing is too much trouble. Their enthusiasm for their ventures (current and future) is infectious. Secondly is the 'Loft du Vigneron' - a fabulous property offering everything - and more - that you could hope for. Karen and Russell's sense of style has been imprinted on it and their attention to detail has left nothing wanting. Every comfort has been considered from the fabulous welcoming pack to 'The White Company' range of toiletries. The terrace was our favourite place with the sun streaming through the roof and the warm breeze cooling us down. Rieux-Minervois is a typical French village and perfectly situated to explore the entire Minervois region from Carcassonne in the West, East to the Mediterranean, and all the lovely historical villages North and South. In conclusion, we had a fabulous stay in a wonderful property with the perfect hosts - highly recommended without hesitation. Our very best wishes for every success in you new venture. Thank you so much for restoring this beautiful château, having impeccable taste and letting us share your wonderful home. It far exceeded our expectations! We came here for my 60th birthday and danced (in the hall!) till the small hours, played games in the pool, badminton at night, ate, drank and enjoyed the amazing homely atmosphere of this elegant place. It could not have been better!

It is early spring. My husband and I decide to go to the South of France for a fortnight. Our eye has fallen on Les Oliviers du Sud. It is in the Gard region and close to nice places. Like Uzès, Nîmes, Avignon. What a surprising place on arrival. Two enthusiastic owners, proudly showing off their new domaine. There are two gîtes. A large swimming pool, several terraces and expansive views. Our gîte is very comfortable. Spacious living room with dining kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Bedroom is very spacious with good mattresses. Large bathroom with two sinks. As it can be quite chilly in the evening in spring, this cottage has a wood-burning stove with hot air conditioning. It is comfortably warm then. The garden is tastefully decorated. You have your own privacy and that choice is nice. We had a lovely two weeks here and will definitely come back next year. Thank you Esther and Leo for your hospitality.
What a gem! What a find! You have thought of it all down to lavender sachets in the drawers. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your delightful house in the most charming of places. We love all things duck and Sarlat offers the best. Exploring the surrounding countryside has been a pure pleasure. We had the good fortune of spending June in Sarlat and enjoyed the village come alive with music. We hope to come again and thank you.
What an absolute joy to spend in such a wonderful house. We have had such a lovely fortnight and will miss the view and the birdsong each morning, but hope to see it all again one day’.
