I can't fault Montlaur in any way. We wanted a holiday where we could experience the genuine article - real French country village life - and we did just that. And in luxurious surroundings to boot! It was perfect.
A lovely and relaxing two weeks at the most beautiful villa! An amazing spacious villa that has been perfect for our family with plenty of space for us all. We absolutely loved the swimming pool and were in it everyday! Our holiday has made even more special by our attentive host Philippe. Philippe made us feel very welcome with some lovely wines and bread, spoilt with breakfast pastries and enjoyed a a delicious meal at Le Pourquoi Pas. The location was brilliant and we enjoyed talking to the bakery daily and enjoyed days out in nearby villages. Though most of the time we were just enjoying the villa! As cat lovers we adored the cats that we would see through the gardens and provided them with water in the hot days and some treats! Thank you so much for the most enjoyable holiday!

The whole experience is also hugely aided by Frédéric and the way he manage the property and interact with the visitors. It makes a big difference.

What a delight! The two bedroom cottage was very spacious and comfortable - actually seemed bigger than the photos depict. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and supportive and had a genuine interest in making our stay as enjoyable as possible, from recommendations and help with reservations at wonderful local restaurants, to suggestions for local sites to visit, to making sure we were comfortable when we experienced some inclement weather. We would love to return and highly recommend this unique property to anyone planning to spend time touring the gorgeous Dordogne area.
We have had a perfect week staying in this gorgeous home. As much as we loved getting out and about, we have also loved spending lazy days around the pool - it has been quite a challenge to tear ourselves away! We managed it a few times though and between us the hits were serious cycle trips on quiet country roads, exploring beautiful little towns that are just all over the place, the odd château visit (Chenonceau is a must - get there early) and of course, just being in France. Thank you for allowing us into your very special home - you are lovely hosts and I hope our paths cross again in the future. Merci beaucoup!
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. It's been such a privilege to stay in your beautiful home. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to enjoy it. We enjoyed experiencing the art, the atmosphere, the views and the comfort. We really appreciated your very generous gift of wine and provisions. The village is lively and we have made good use of all it has to offer. terrific choice of the alimentation, delightful terrace and delicious food at the Bar de Prores and a timely haivent at Tiffany's Satin. We recommend a trip to Uzes, Nîmes and Avignon and had a delicious lunch on the banks of the Gardon at Colias on the way to the Pont du Gard. Also, do try the real wine from La Grappe d'Or in the village.
I stayed at this stunning villa with my three children (13, 12 and 10). It is a beautiful home set on a gorgeous property with lots of things to do in the area and within a 30 minute drive. After a day of touring around, the deck and pool area are perfect for sipping some local wines and looking out at the incredible views. It has all the amenities needed for a great family holiday. I highly recommend it!
We would like to very highly recommend this grand idillic property in the tranquil rural setting of the Lot Valley. The quietness and peacefulness of the house and grounds is the perfect place to completely unwind, to read, draw, play boules, table tennis or relax with the family by the poolside area. The market town of Villeréal was particularly vibrant and trips into the Dordogne to Beynac for example is only an hour away. There is an abundance of local wines and vineyards to visit with exquisite cheeses and bread from the local markets. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We have returned totally refreshed and relaxed!
We thought that the Loft was lovely. We've had a great two weeks in beautiful accommodation. We've enjoyed exploring the region but have left plenty to do to give us a reason to come back. I know the girls will miss Mack and Mabel - we'll keep you posted if we succumb to their requests to get one of our own! Thank you both for your company and warm hospitality.

One of the finest holiday rentals we have ever had - the house, the internal furnishing, the swimming pool, the grounds - all are exceptional. From the friendly, informative and interesting welcome from Bruno, the caretaker, to the friendly departure message from Victoire, this rental cannot be faulted. We would return to the property in an instant for another holiday. For anyone travelling to this region, this property is one of the very best rentals available - the finest quality all the way.

We had a great stay in this great house. The house is very well equipped and we are very well received. The house has lots of games (billiards, ping-pong, electric train, hut ...) for adults and children, you won't be bored even if the good weather is not there. Finally the swimming pool is large and heated! In short, a great address! Thank you!
