My family had a fantastic 3-week holiday in La Barde, a beautifully renovated farmhouse. So fantastic, in fact, that we secured a repeat booking for the following year prior to departing. We found the property extremely spacious, sympathetically renovated, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for family day-to-day living. The securely gated pool is perfect for children and we all looked forward to cooling off there each afternoon after exploring the various local food markets and other wonderful excursions. The pool is actually quite large, which meant that the keener members of our party could exercise properly and swim lengths whilst the rest of us happily relaxed and drank local wines. The shallow end is ideal for young children to play or practice their swimming and there is a slightly separate paddling pool which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is a barn area with a large BBQ, which we used most evenings, a ping pong table and lots of lawn games. The courtyard, lawn and gardens are obviously lovingly cared for and just beautiful. La Barde is the perfect setting for children to play and for family and friends to relax, talk, eat and drink. Helen and John gave us a warm welcome and were happy to help with any information we needed. They kindly shared some delicious fruit from their garden with us, which we very much enjoyed cooking and eating. We think this is the perfect place for groups of friends or families to holiday together and celebrate special occasions (it would be an amazing place to host a wedding or spend Christmas) because the size and the layout of the house and grounds mean there is plenty of space for more than one family to be together as well as enough space to have privacy. The location is ideal in terms of exploring the Dordogne. We would highly recommend booking this property any time of the year. We couldn’t believe our luck and can’t wait to return again this summer!
Couldn't have asked for more from La Barde or its owner. La Barde was tranquil, comfortable and had everything you would need for a family holiday. The kitchen was so well equipped, it was amazing, the bedrooms were spacious and beds comfy. Everywhere was decorated beautifully and furnished thoughtfully. There was so much space throughout the house and gardens that even as a large family you would be able to find a quiet spot for some peace. The pool had a great shallow area for the toddlers, the garden was great for exploring. We will be returning next year without a doubt! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We have had a fabulous time in the pool, playing pool and losing at table football. We would like to recommend going to Monflanquin for the medieval festival on the 16th August.

Your house has been such a beautiful place to spend a week of our holiday. We've loved every minute - so much so that we didn't go far from Le Chambarru. The attention to detail was fantastic - from the decor to the 'welcome basket' to our name on the gate. The only thing missing was that we only stayed for 7 nights. We adore this house - it is our third visit this year! The atmosphere here is so conducive to being happy and relaxed. And now to expose the biggest secret of the year - Christmas at Orchard Farmhouse has been a magical experience. The Baquiés are the most agreeable hosts in the world.
We booked for a week in late July to celebrate my husband's Big Birthday. There were 13 of us ranging from 4 - 80. We all loved the beautiful, spacious house and the large grounds and lovely countryside. The pool is fabulous and the children spent most of the time in it, when they weren't on the trampoline or playing table tennis! Ally and Tim were wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts and cooked us a truly gourmet dinner one evening. There are lots of charming, historic villages in the area. This place is a gem.
We love the design and build of the house and have enjoyed our stay here with our family enormously. The pool has provided a great deal of fun for all and there is so much opportunity for relaxation and enjoying all the local produce!
We've spent a great week in this very quiet and verdant location. A very nice and comfortable house, indoors and outdoors. Terrace, swimming pool, sun loungers... It was great! Near Pézenas (wonderful), Valmagne Abbaye (wonderful) and local markets... The owner is sweet and very discreet.
A very beautiful and cosy apartment, so nice! We had a really nice week in Magalas and Le Paradis Secret! We really enjoyed our stay.
The property is an ideal place to spend a relaxing, very pleasant stay in the Périgord. Too bad the second week was not available.

We've had an amazing time thanks. Visited as many places as the kids will tolerate and we somehow did the Renoir museum without breaking anything!! They’ve both absolutely loved the pool and their swimming has improved loads. Our youngest, Hal, has gone from tentatively swimming 5m to now confidently doing 20 lengths without stopping. Wonderful family holiday We had a wonderful week staying at Manoir de Saux, spent mostly by or in the beautiful pool or on the tennis court! Occasionally we would tear ourselves away from this idyll to wander through pretty fortified towns, to have a delicious local lunch and to taste wine. We all particularly liked Cahors. The house itself was very comfortable, had everything we needed and the kids couldn't have been happier. Highly recommended!
Le Presbytère genuinely exceeded our expectations in all areas. We primarily booked this property for the covered eating and relaxing area adjacent to a fabulous heated pool and the number of bedrooms. The history and setting of the property and it's views to the rear over beautiful countryside, were a real bonus and joy. The wildlife was of real interest to us all and the table tennis was played regularly by us all. Mark and Amanda were friendly and keen to help with any queries we had. Thank you again and in particular for providing the electric fans which were essential during such a hot period in July. We don't usually return to the same property on holiday but just might make an exception with Le Presbytère!
We had a lovely stay at Pinaux. The house conversion is beautiful and comfortable for days we didn’t go out. Everything went smoothly with the keys and check in. Henk and Renee were friendly and welcoming. Thank you for providing some basics, including coffee, milk and sugar.
The acccommodation is beautifully presented with lots of lovely little touches. There's everything you need but if not the hosts are just next door and couldn't be more helpful. Vouvant is a very short walk away and has a handful of bars, restaurants and shops so you can just leave the car and relax if you really need to with off. We'd highly recommend a stay a The Piglet Barn and will most certainly be back.
