This is a wonderful place to stay: we, a couple, spent two weeks at Carcavi in September 2022. We wanted a quiet break in comfort and luxury and the house was everything we had hoped for and more. The house itself is very well equipped and has comfy seating and a good bed :-) Carcavi is spacious and beautiful, the grounds are extensive and the pool is excellent. It is very peaceful. There was a generous hamper of food and drink items to get us started. The whole property is cared for to a high standard. There is lots of information in the house itself and of course more is readily available from hosts Rupert and Debbie. We read a lot, enjoying the various places to sit, we swam and M examined the varied local plants and invertebrates with enthusiasm. We enjoyed walks in the adjacent woods and valley. Thanks so much to Rupert and Debbie for letting us use the house phone to call the duty chemist when the urgent need arose, really appreciated.

Perfect surroundings to relax and spend our holiday week. We have enjoyed the spacious house, garden and the pool as well as the wonderful warm weather! The pituresque villages nearby have truly been a spectacular experience. We have spent a very nice week at the villa. We would have loved to stay longer but our holidays are now over and we are going back to the North.
Every corner of the house is full of detail and charm. All other houses will pall in comparison now! We would love to return.
The Loire! What an overwhelming heritage. Châteaux, abbeys, caves - and Michel's house is central to all of it. Bourgueil is a charming town with delicious foods and outstanding wines. Every night we enjoyed the pool. Thank you Michel for an exceptional week.
Thank you for having let us your wonderful house. We have spent a wonderful week with perfect weather, very interesting excursions and we had great meals. We would be very glad if it were possible to rent the house for one or two weeks again next year.
We felt very comfortable here in this house with the beautiful garden and pool. Peacefulness, rest and relaxation - What more would you want? We particularly appreciated how attentive and helpful people were in Bessan and Agde as we needed help for our little Leah. We have greatly enjoyed our time, recovered and will definitely come back. Very private and peaceful place to stay. Great facilities. The house was lovely, clean and spacious with all the necessary facilities. Following the advice re when to open and close shutters etc meant we were able to find shade and cool whenever needed. The pool was also clean and lovely to use - great relief in the hottest part of the day. The boulangeries in Saint Valentine and Bivet were great (as they were everywhere). Intermarche in Bivet proved handy but others available in other directions too. Late afternoon trips to Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence are perfect and parking very straight forward. Morning trip to Cassis to get into the sea was also a great success. Parking there good in the morning but looked a lot busier at later in the day.
We’ve had a wonderful 2 weeks, the girls have loved the swimming pool and all the facilities. We spent many relaxing days reading in front of the beautiful views. The house is very comfortable. Nyons, Orange, Avignon, Vaison la romaine were all very picturesque and worth a visit, especially the amazing Roman theatre in Orange. All in all a fabulous trip. We will be back.
We've spent a great week in this very quiet and verdant location. A very nice and comfortable house, indoors and outdoors. Terrace, swimming pool, sun loungers... It was great! Near Pézenas (wonderful), Valmagne Abbaye (wonderful) and local markets... The owner is sweet and very discreet.
Absolutely lovely. Incredible space for us and kids to explore! Incredible, No problems at all, Fantastic Perfect. Lovely to have on Mam and dads wedding anniversary!

Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing and comfortable holiday at Mas Saint-Martial! We are a family of four with teenagers (plus a dog) and we spent 2 fabulous weeks at the house. The pool was a stand-out highlight – heated, salt water and fully gated for safety – fantastic family times and memories created playing games. The boules pitch, badminton court and BBQ were also great ways to entertain ourselves. The owners live part of the year in the house next door and are extremely responsive, supportive and welcoming whilst also giving you enough ‘space’ to enjoy the seclusion and peace. In terms of restaurants, there are plenty of very reasonably priced places within easy driving distance – there are plenty of great places to visit too – Aubeterre (with a 9 hole golf range) and Brantôme were highlights for us. We even walked to the local 5 course lunch place at Chez Moran which was amazing and cheap! Their occasional night time events with music and the fish and chip van are great fun. A real gem of a place. Thank you!
We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks at Maison Semoussac.
As anticipated, it was as wonderful as last year and we have all had a splendid time and are sorry to have to leave. Thank you so much for your wonderful Loft and your hospitality. We are all looking forward to our visit again next year.
We stayed in this beautiful house in June of this year Wow what a find ! Situated in the magnificent village of Pezenas the house is only a few minutes walk away from amazing antique shops , Boulangeries, and craft shops. The house itself is perfect throughout with a great outdoor pool and lovely outdoor area for eating and even has separate games room too ! Carcassonne and Montpellier are easily accessible and should be explored! So much to do in the area, we will be back! Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is very nice, bright, very well equipped. The large terrace overlooking the small harbour and the sea is at the top, with the sound of cicadas. The living space is very bright and pleasant to live in. The kitchen is very well equipped. Local shops, including a large Giant Casino, are accessible by car, on Beaulieu, 5 minutes by car. Even if access to the station and bus is quite simple, prefer the car... or the boat, because the port is at the bottom of the building.
My husband and I had a perfect week. (23rd to 29th of June 2025z Florence was the best host. The barn was just stunning. The photos really don’t do it justice. The facilities were among the best we’ve had. We have been going to Dordogne for 30 years with our family. This property with all the required amenities (and I mean ALL) was above and beyond what we were expecting. Florence had thought of everything even down to some very special luxury spa products. Hair products (including straighteners!. We were warmly welcomed with a smile and more than sufficient welcome pack. All that we needed for evening and the following morning. Including wine! She really was the best owner we have met. It was such a pleasure meeting her and staying for the perfect week in her beautiful barn. We had an invited evening with aperitifs in the garden. Delightful company. All the health and safety information was given to us on arrival with a phone number we could call at anytime, for anything. The pool was absolutely perfect. We had a huge choice of entertainment from games, books, music but we were just amazed that this including Netflix!! Perfect for an evening relaxing on the very comfortable couches. Eymet is also just 15 minutes drive away and has a very good range of exceptional restaurants, cafes and boutiques, antique shops etc. A beautiful historic town. We really can’t rate Florence and her wonderful accommodation highly enough. Our sincere thanks go to her for helping to make our peaceful week away from it all. So very memorable. I forgot to add our absolute joy of having air con all around the house!!!! The icing on the cake!!! Thanks again

We stayed from July 22 to 29, 2023 in Les Trois Maisons de Valescure. 4 generations, 19 people. Our stay was very pleasant, magnificent hikes, visits - Cotignac is a little marvel, like on the postcards - swimming pool, both logistically and environmentally. Perfect equipment for the twenty-somethings that we were. Thomas contributed to the success of our stay thanks to his attention and efficient responsiveness and excellent communication.
We had a wonderful holiday at La Maison Blanche. The location is stunning, a huge garden with a large pool - overlooking a field of sunflowers when we were there. We were two couples with two older children and the house is very spaceous and beautifully furnished. The location is very peaceful. Whilst that means that shops, local markets and restaurants are not within walking distance the house is very well equipped, both for cooking and barbequeing as well as entertainment with the pool, table tennis and games. I just wanted to say what a fantastic time we all had at Maison Semoussac. Everything we could have asked for was catered for and we all had a wonderful time from the grandmothers to the youngest child. The house is beautiful and the views and surrounding area are also. We found the locals very friendly and accommodating and loved visiting the patisserie each morning for fresh bread and croissants. The weather was extremely hot but even this did not create any problems as the children either played in the shepherd's hut, the play room or back at the house to cool off although they did spend a huge amount of time in the pool! I even managed a run along the footpaths while it was slightly cooler past the beautiful sunflower fields.
We were not too familiar with the region, but since we live in a highly fast-paced city, we knew we wanted a tranquil and somewhat less-touristy vacation spot surrounded by nature. Through an amazing agency, we were able to lease the cottage for two weeks in late August and had an amazing time there. The property dates back to 1750 and is fully well-renovated - every detail has been taken into consideration so one is able to enjoy the experience of staying in an authentic French country house, but with modern amenities that enhance the original character of the property, rather than detract from it. The town and the people are very charming and there are restaurants, cafés, a grocery store, shops, butcher shops, etc. and an excellent choice of patisseries and boulangeries, which my husband happily frequented every morning in order to bring back fresh breakfast goodies! There is a weekly market in the town square, just a 5-minute drive from the house selling amazing produce and other artisanal delights! The town is within a comfortable drive from beautiful sites in neighboring Beynac, Sarlat and Bergerac, not counting other small picturesque places you find on the way. And if you haven't done much research, fret not because the owners of the home have compiled quite an impressive binder of information with all of the popular attractions and must-see places in the area. I do not over-exaggerate when I say the house is extremely well-equipped as if it were our own home! When we were not out sightseeing during the morning, we were downstairs preparing food in the kitchen, which may seem small in the photos, but it is spacious and the layout is wonderful - the oven and stove are ideal for seasoned cooks, there is a full-size dishwasher and tons of pots, pans, utensils, gadgets and appliances - all in superb condition, so we wanted for nothing. Overall, we had an excellent stay at Maison Bourg Cales, which I would highly recommend to anyone in search of an idyllic, quiet getaway in the beautiful French countryside.
We had a great time. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for a remote getaway.

Lovely location with beautiful views in a quiet and peaceful setting. Fantastic facilities, the house had everything you needed and more, super swimming pool, lovely and warm, well maintained and enjoyed by all the family. Alan and Madeline were on hand to assist at all times, we wish them every happiness in their new life in France.

Magnificent old sheepfold, spacious, bright, and comfortable. The views are incredible with its large heated pool and park. Everything is within driving distance: supermarkets, typical villages, restaurants, and multiple excursions. And finally, the owners are attentive and absolutely charming!
