Loved being able to gather in so many places throughout the day. What a pleasure to spend time in your beautiful château. Thoroughly enjoyed this luxurious holiday.
We recently stayed for two weeks at this beautiful house and were overwhelmed by its beauty and setting. The house is spacious and extremely well furnished with everything you could possibly need for a fantastic relaxing break. A lot of care and thought has gone into the decor and furnishings giving a real homely feel. Fresh flowers in the rooms added to the warmth of our welcome by Frederic, the house manager and Elisabeth and Marian had ensured that everything was immaculate. The town of Duras is close by and we enjoyed the Monday morning markets as well as trips to Bordeaux (by train from Marmande), St Emilion and the wonderful Château de Fayolle where we had an amazing lunch, vineyard tour and wine tasting. This is a beautiful part of France where we have made many happy memories and hope to return one day. Our thanks to the team at Maison Baleyssagues for making our visit so special. Worthy of mention is local driver Mark Pope who provided transport for us during our trip. He needs to be pre- booked but will get you where you need to go if you don't want to drive!
We had a wonderful stay, the house is very large, designed perfectly, very comfortable and recommended for anyone who loves peace and quiet in a perfect setting. The local town Monsegur is a very short car ride away, or a 20 minute walk. A few lovely shops and restaurants welcome you here. If you love nature there are some excellent walks amongst the grapevines and natural walkways. Evening dining at the house is wonderful as there is a large outdoor space by the private pool. The pool is 10 mtrs and recently installed. Aircon to cool the bedrooms before bedtime makes for a comfortable nights sleep. We have holidayed in this area of France almost 20 times but this accommodation is the best that we have had. All together a perfect, luxurious place to stay, attention to detail here is excellent, Christophe is the perfect host.

A wonderful week in the villa! The sun has shone and we've made the most of the pool! Very welcome relief from the heat. Villa is very well appointed - everything has been thought of. Local team were great, a quick response to our queries. We explored Pezanas and the beaches at Portiragnes and Sète - both fabulous! We agree - the welcome wine was a lovely thought - a good introduction to local wines! Thank you for a great week!

A perfect stay for a family Christmas. Plenty of room for 10 people. Beautiful bedrooms and bathroom. A very family-friendly living room, a superb and functional kitchen. Great relaxed stay. Nice area and plenty to do locally. Only 2 of us so didn't take advantage of the full size of the house, but still felt very homely. Nice touch to have UK TV. Hope to return again next year.

The rental of La Bastide 1718 within the domain surrounded by hills is exceptional and provides a rare quietness. The layout of the residence allows for very pleasant and relaxed family gatherings for about 15 people; the layout of the bathrooms is perfect. The swimming pool and pool house is of ample size; this facility is completed by a gym and a sauna. The design of the kitchen makes it easy to provide daily meals for about 15 people (2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators). The laundry room allows for efficient laundry management. Two barbecues and the pool house kitchen make it easy to arrange meals with guests. The house management runs smoothly thanks to the maid service and the discreet but efficient watch of the site manager and his staff (the swimming pool is maintained during the night for example). In conclusion, an exceptional rental which justifies its price.
Wonderful house. Thank you for our wonderful stay. We were a large party of friends looking for somewhere scenic to spend a week together. We were excited when we booked but over the moon when we arrived to the beautiful house. The space works really well for a large group of people with multiple areas to comfortably sit and hang out. We had some delicious dinners and breakfasts (cooked in the well equipped kitchen and BBQ) out on the deck and the view made them even more magical. Even though the house is wonderful to relax and play in the pool in we found some lovely things to do in the surrounding area. There's a wonderful restaurant right by the house and kayaking and wake-boarding about an hour drive and some nice villages not far. Overall if you want a place that feels private and scenic and is still functional and comfortable then this an ideal place. We hope to come back soon!
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. Fabulous week learning about wine in an amazing setting. Manoir Lemance is the most wonderful, tranquil and stylish place I have stayed in France and I have stayed in many. The owners have taken great care and attention in restoring the beautiful buildings, choosing the internal furnishings and creating the amazing swimming pool and grounds. We were warmly welcomed and looked after really well all week. The local area is full of amazing villages, great vineyards and beautiful countryside. If you are looking for a very French holiday with the added support of English speaking hosts, in the most beautiful setting, then this is the place for you.

We had a great week in France last week and loved the tennis coach Francesca organised.
We have spent a short yet sweet time in Maison Saint-Julien. It was a perfect place to stay and we couldn’t ask for much more! Main highlights were chilling by the pool and enjoying a dusk on the top deck. A drink in the little bar on the town square was perfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Orchard Farmhouse and would have no problem recommending this beautiful house to friends and family. We liked eating on the terrace admiring the spectacular view of the Dordogne landscape. Great facilities for the children, especially in the games room. Close proximity to many delightful places of interest. Thank you, au revoir.
Maison Baleyssagues is lovely. It’s as nice as the photos, the beds are super comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped and the pool area and outside terraces are charming, one with wonderful views and sunsets. The property manager is extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help with some issues we had. Thank you! We’ll be back.
This property is so beautiful you may not want to venture out, but if you do there are great restaurants and bars nearby as well as lovely walks and biking trails. The rooms are very comfortable, all en-suite and everything you could wish for is provided. The huge swimming pool / pool house / relaxing / eating and barbecue areas mean that you can be outside all the time but the gorgeous well equipped kitchen and indoor rooms offer a cool alternative. Cant wait to go back!
Very nice house, ideal for a family weekend because each room has its own bathroom and an ideal room for the elderly. The decoration is very tasteful, we had an excellent weekend. Thank you Christophe. See you next time.
We had a great time at the house - everything went smoothly. We also spent a fair bit of time exploring the general area although we always ended up back at the large table with a glass of rose taking in the view over the vines come end of day!
