Our stay at Le Mas de Combet was fantastic. We had a warm welcome at our arrival, the house is perfectly situated in the countryside. It is very quiet with a very nice view on forests and fields. The swimming pool is big and clean and although the weather wasn’t very hot, the pool was perfect. Our host has given us ideas and indications about what to do in the area and has cared about us during the stay, offering his help and assistance, even with fresh bread! We definitely recommend this house and would love to stay there again, whenever possible!
We found the property by chance a few years ago and have been back twice since and will be returning with our 4 and 6 year old kids again this July! We have come to think of it as our French home away from home. The house is beautifully located and the interior and exterior space makes for a fabulous family vacation. The pool on the lower terrace gives enough separation that you can keep the kids safely away and the pool alarm adds that extra level of comfort. The owners continue to maintain and upgrade the property well and the new BBQ area on the terrace gets used daily for those lunch and evening meals overlooking the valley. The short stroll to town is easy and avoids having to worry about cars and parking, although a glass or two of Provence wine helps with the walk back up the hill afterwards which could be a challenge for those less mobile. Most hire cars will fit up the lane to the house (we had a Volvo C90 last year and were fine) but if you have a very large people carrier it can get a little narrow to maneuver round the corner at the bottom. The house is perfect for one or two families to enjoy a wonderful escape.
Our recent family getaway in the South of France, close to Sommières, was made extra special by the delightful Provencal-style house we had the pleasure of calling home. From the moment we arrived, we felt a genuine sense of comfort and relaxation. The exterior of the house, surrounded by beautiful gardens set the tone for a peaceful stay. Inside, the Provencal charm continued with tasteful decor that blended traditional and modern elements seamlessly. The attention to detail in each room created an inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The living areas were spacious yet cozy, providing the perfect setting for family time. The well-equipped kitchen made meal prep a breeze, and the comfortable bedrooms offered a good night's sleep after days filled with exploration. One of the highlights was the outdoor spaces. The terrace, overlooking the scenic countryside, became a favorite spot for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The pool was a refreshing retreat, perfect for unwinding under the sun. The house's location proved to be convenient for exploring Sommières Uzes, and Nîmes, charming towns with a lot to offer. Returning to the house after our daily adventures felt like returning to a peaceful oasis. In conclusion, our stay in this Provencal-style house near Sommières was a wonderful experience. It provided a perfect balance of comfort, charm, and convenience for our family retreat. If you're looking for a relaxed and welcoming haven in the South of France, this house is a gem that we wholeheartedly recommend.
This house was fantastic! Inside it was like a show home, beautifully designed. The kitchen was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The garden was well laid out with direct access to the shaded dining area, under the trees for shade and the pool. The views were stunning over the valley and the sunsets were breath-taking. A walk down to the dam is recommended where you can take adip in the river, too. We made trips to the sea which is circa 60 min and to local villlages. The local village is 5 min drive and has a friendly store well stocked, a café and newsagent. There is a litle van which pulls up at approx 10 am which sells bread and pastries. We would definitely recommend this house.
Beautiful house - everything you could possibly need for a totally carefree and relaxing holiday. We loved it so much here we only ventured away from the property for 2 half days. We would love to return! A huge thank you to Gary and Louise for managing the property so well and giving expert local knowledge.
We had a blast at your villa. Such a beautiful house! It was all above expectations! The pictures of your house do not reflect the beauty of it in real life. My husband and I loved the master room at the pool, such a great and relaxing space and decorated with so many good taste. Same applies to the other rooms, they were all very comfortable with good beds and lovely to see that the house is all decorated in Provence style. All the rooms were occupied by our 3 young adult sons and my mother, but we had not the feeling to bump into each other, there are so many areas to isolate. The pleasures were also in the small details, you have foreseen everything to have the perfect stay, from the sweetest bed linen to the lovely table service, with more than enough plates, salad bowls, the colorful pool towels, the very beautiful and well-maintained garden, etc, etc. The kitchen was also a pleasure to cook in, everything we needed was present. We brought our own kitchen knives from home as we love to cook, but even that was present :-)We were also positively surprised by the quality of the service included with the villa, everything was of a high standard. Thank you so much! There are so many ugly rental houses in France but yours is definitely not!

We had the best week here in this beautiful house, such a perfect location, the house had everything we needed. We didn't have a car but everything was in walking distance. We spent every evening having drinks at 'Le Pub' in the centre of town, very nice cocktails. Restaurant Chez le Gaulois served the best cheese and meats platter, couldn't recommend them more. WE LOVE IT HERE and will definitely be back next year. Thank you Jackie and Geoff for this beautiful stay.

I just wanted to say that we all found your house to be absolutely lovely. Everything we could have hoped for. So many nice touches, you clearly put a lot of thought and no doubt effort into making it a very special place. We had high expectation of this holiday and were not disappointed. The property is a piece of history in an area steeped in the past. From the moment we arrived, greeted by a couple you seemed to have been friends with all your life, the stresses of every day life evaporated. We immediately felt at home and were very quickly making plans for our next visit. The cottage looks picture postcard from the outside and there really is no detail left undone. The inside has its historic charm in place but with all the amenities necessary so that you are not required to live the Médiéval lifestyle of many some other rural accommodation in France. The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated and there are large bathroom and shower facilities (upstairs and down). The private swimming pool is superb and was for our sole use. Its clear waters under pine trees and a blue sky were idyllic. It was difficult to tear my wife from the pool side. The cottage fits perfectly into an area of outstanding beauty where many of the sites we wished to visit were only minutes away. The owners were very welcoming and provided good advice on the places to visit but were not overwhelming so that you could always enjoy complete privacy. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot recommend it more highly. If you want to tour the area to see the 1,000 châteaux and the countless prehistoric sites in the area or just chill by the pool, this is the place for you. Thank you for a lovely week.
The villa is stunning. The views are incredible. I stayed in the double room on the ground floor, next to the bathroom. A lovely large room, with French doors onto the terrace, a great place to watch the sunsets. Towels are good quality from John Lewis! The upstairs bedroom has a lovely bathroom and stunning views from the private balcony. Just beautiful. Taking breakfast under the olive tree was a delight. The pool is a very good size and very deep. It was very well maintained with a cover. The surrounding pool area is very spacious, with substantial sunbeds and a great barbecue spot. The gardens are beautiful, there's a petanque area, endless olive trees and lovely flower beds in front of the villa. The kitchen is well equipped, although we ate most of the time and a laundry room. A lovely villa in a beautiful part of France. Very relaxing. A great find.
We have had the most wonderful time at Maison des Hirondelles. The villa is beautiful and had everything we needed, so clean, comfortable and well thought out. Thank you for making us feel so welcome Cédric. Our daughter Edie, who is 8 months old had a wonderful time in the swimming pool and very much enjoyed her first holiday here in France. We visited Narbonne, Carcassonne, Gruissan, Minerve (fantastic chocolate shop!), Béziers, Canal du Midi with the 9 locks. Thank you for showing us your wine cellar, such a lovely touch. We would love to come back.

A magical setting to celebrate with friends and family! We stayed in this beautiful place for a blissful week and held our French wedding celebration dinner (we had already been married back home in Aus) in the garden with the Chateau as the backdrop. The chateau is a truly unique experience, steeped in history with many picturesque villages and walks nearby to explore. Or you can just enjoy lazing by the pool with a glass of local rose in hand! We hope we get to visit one day again!

I stayed in this stunning house in May this year. It is beautifully presented and very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. It has the added benefits of an outdoor swimming pool and a games room. The owner has gone to great lengths to make this a home away from home! It hides behind pretty old stone walls, just a few steps from the centre of the beautiful historic town of Pezenas. I am looking forward to returning in the future!

Fabulous château holiday in Brittany. The property was beautiful with plenty of space to roam. Perfect for a family holiday with young children. Lots of room to roam around the house and the grounds. Location very rural but lots of activities close by and the beaches of southern Brittany not too far. Linda was a wonderfully warm host and we arranged private catering with Kes in the village who provided truly excellent local dishes delivered fresh to the chtâeau, couldn't ask for a better service!
Oh how we loved your house! Our daughter, two sons and their three spouses, plus seven grandchildren from three to sixteen all voted it "best yet"! And Francois was wonderful and charming. Isabol speaks excellent French so they got on well.
Panoramic views of the countryside and a short drive to a local village where we could get all of our suppliers, every aspect of the stay was catered for and a stunning pool. So peaceful and tranquil, we didn’t want to leave. Just perfect.
