We would love to come back again x We have had an amazing week here at Maison La Pérouse. Oscar and Olive have both loved exploring the garden. Oscar has particularly enjoyed playing hide and seek in the wood, doing tricks on the trampoline and spotting fish in the pond. The pool has been fantastic and we have loved the evening sunny nights in the garden. Thank you Sue, Pat and Amber for your wonderful hospitality and recommendation. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Excellent well equipped house. Views are beautiful and sunsets from the top terrace amazing. Great wine in the cellar. We had a lot of fun playing boules and croquet. Hard to tear oneself away from the pool… After 2 weeks still don’t want to leave. Thank you.

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home, it was the perfect place to spend our 30th anniversary! The views are amazing, village charming and the pool well used. Thank you also for the cold meats, cheeses and wine on our arrival, a really welcoming touch. We would definitely recommend a day kayaking to Pont du Gard, a really good way to spend the day, hats, suncream and picnic a must. Again, a very big thank you, we would love to return one day.
I just wanted to write to say how much we enjoyed our holiday at Les Granels. The Villa was everything we hoped it would be and beautifully equipped and an added bonus was the wonderfully stocked playroom, which as we had 5 children under 7 was an absolute joy. I would like to say that Karri was an absolute gem, efficient, full of good humour, endlessly patient with our Grandchildren who loved her so much that they cried when she said goodbye to us. She really made the holiday and enabled our rather exhausted children (their parents) to have a much needed few hours off. We are really grateful to her. The other great joy was the meals that Carol and Andy cooked for us, just in case future guests want cooking done whilst they are there.
Beautiful home. A lovely house with gardens, exceptionally peaceful and private. Lovely pool and all the facilities. Saint-Alvère also a lovely village.
Tortoise name suggestions:- Sherman Victor Esio Trot (anagram for tortoise + book +TV show!) Sheldon (The Big Bang Theory TV). We have enjoyed a wonderful week in your stunning house. Mostly enjoying the weather and pool! We have seen the red squirrel, lizards, water vole and many birds. It's so peaceful and beautiful, we will miss it.
A charming and pretty old house with a private garden and small pool to cool off in. It was clean, extremely tasteful and comfortable. There were five of us and we had plenty of room. Good garden furniture outside and loungers by the pool too. Eimear was a really helpful and responsive host with clear instructions and helpful tips. Gabian is a sweet little town and we enjoyed wandering down to the boulangerie for croissants and bread every morning. The local area is pretty and we went to various beaches and Pezenas all of which were easily reached by car. We all loved our stay and highly recommend it.
Villa Funel was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable and the whole place was light and airy. The DVD player and the large supply of films was great for late viewing. The pool area and garden were a delight. We had a lovely relaxing time. We will certainly return.
What a view. A lovely property and we had an amazing family holiday, it's a real home from home. Location is great with lots of areas within easy access. We would definitely book again.
My family had amazing stay here. We have 2 young kids (aged 1 and 5) and the apartment was clean, secure, modern appliances (including washer/dryer), ocean view and beautiful infinity rooftop pool. The bedrooms were a good size, easy to use temperature controls air conditioning and black out shades. A crib and a high chair were available at the apartment. There is a large supermarket/everything store across the street and the apartment exits right on the beach boardwalk, so easy walk to the marina and beach restaurants. I hope we get to return soon.
Had a brill time. Carcassonne old town. Minerve, pretty. Local restaurants (good food). Grand cafe down the road in Felines. Minervois for a long lunch. Pool is a refreshing treat. Hope to be back.
What a fantastic week we had a . The house is beautiful and we loved the attention to detail.
The property was absolutely ideal. We stayed here in July/August 2025 for 2 week and had a perfect multi-generation holiday here, with 12 of us ranging in age from 5 to 76. – spacious enough for us to all be together when we wanted, yet with plenty of room to spread out and relax, play board games, or just enjoy some quiet time. The house is extremely well equipped and thoughtfully set up for larger groups. It’s refreshing to stay in a place that understands what big groups need – more than enough plates, mugs, glasses, and plenty of seating inside and out. The pool was fantastic – spotlessly clean and enjoyed by everyone, every day. A special mention must go to Michelle, the wonderful lady who looks after the property. She was amazing – warm, helpful, and quick to resolve the two very minor issues we had. She also gave us some excellent local recommendations. The location is lovely and secluded, which does mean you need to drive for shops or activities, but honestly, the property is so large and comfortable that you don’t feel the need to leave often. We did enjoy a few outings – kayaking on the Dordogne, dinners out, and day trips – but we were always happy to return “home.” All in all, this house feels like a cross between a welcoming home and an upmarket hotel. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our family holiday and would highly recommend it.

We have enjoyed many days in the lovely pool and have also really enjoyed exploring the beautiful surroundings, including Saumur. Thank you, we have had a fun two weeks at Le Pigat. We have cycled, run and explored the rural countryside. We have spent warm nights playing cards and dominoes with our children. We have loved the pool and the quiet and eating outdoors. It is fair to say that we have had a memorable two weeks here and we are sad to leave to go back to work and school. Great house, perfect location, private and peaceful. Lasting memories... On revient...
As regular visitors we choose this area for over 30 years. This is without doubt the loveliest property we we ever had. The location and settings are glorious. We loved to sat in every places of the garden and at different times of the day. Loved the relaxing and beautiful pool area enjoyed the tasteful but functional rooms and cooked every night in this well appointed kitchen. All the small touches and details show great level of consideration from the owners. Thank you so much Frederick has been welcoming and helpful it was lovely to come back and we hope to return at least once next year.

A lovely family week in this perfect house in an idyllic situation on the edge of the charming village of Cucugnan. The house is well-equipped and the pool is fabulous! The barbecue and table-tennis also much appreciated. The house is a short walk into the village where we visited two bars and an excellent family -run restaurant (Auberge du Vigneron). Also enjoyed ‘Burger Friday’ at the bar. The village shop has all the basics. We also did a ‘degustation’ (wine-tasting) in the village and visited two of the nearby fascinating Cathar Castles – there is plenty to do in the area but the house is also perfect for relaxing. We will be back!
Two splendid weeks relaxing and sight seeing with a very beautiful home to come back too. We can't fault the house, we especially loved the kitchen, pool room, swimming pool and of course the marvellous views.
We loved this peace! Thank you so much for making our week here the best we have had ever in France. All your help and tips made a perfect week to us. We can certainly recommend La Route du Sel. Bike rental from Gennes was also a great way to see La Loire. Thank you also for keeping the house and garden so beautifully. We hope to come back!
