Fab house! What a lovely property! Lots of space. We were a big family group, mixed ages. The pool was a godsend as the weather was tres chaud! Beautiful sunsets. The place was very well equipped. The owner was very communicative and helpful to my queries. Nothing was too much trouble. Really nice to receive some wine and coffee on arrival too. What a wonderful holiday we have had! We had an amazing stay here in Narbonne! The photos you see are beautiful but the house is even better in person. It was so comfortable, beautiful decor, thoughtful touches (like throw blankets, baskets for market, plenty of closet space with extra hangers, extensive kitchen equipment, more...), gorgeous lighting and cozy/high quality bedding (so important when travelling). We felt so at home and enjoyed our down time while in the house! The sunroom was our sanctuary during our stay... our reading room while there... the natural light is so perfect with the back sliding window open and the breeze coming in! Heaven!
This year we opted for a “green” vacation with 2 couples of friends and their children (in total 6 adults and 5 children) and were very happy with our rental. It’s never easy with the internet and what a great discovery on arrival: a huge, superbly renovated house. Great comfort in this beautiful stone building, in a very preserved natural setting. The rooms are magnificent and particularly large, the 2 mezzanine bedrooms were occupied by the children by adding an additional bed. The collective spaces are also very neat (comfort, decor) and pleasant to live in, special mention for the kitchen equipped with professional equipment, spacious and equipped with much more than is necessary. The pool is even bigger than it looks in photos. For the youngest children we closed it with the electric shutter, practical and efficient. The garden is ideal for a change of scenery and contemplation, the setting is absolutely beautiful. In the end we regretted having only rented for a week, the house is so pleasant that we wanted to stay there and relax but we will come back to continue discovering the Cévennes. In short, an excellent stay and a rental to recommend.
Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed the house and the boys (13 and 11) loved the pool! It was a great place to have as our base and we explored the Dordogne and Lot enjoying kayaking, zip-lines, châteaux, markets, medieval towns, caves and gardens. Monpazier was one of our favourites! We had a fabulous holiday at La Distillerie - the most beautiful gite we have stayed in, and a perfect setting in which to enjoy the French countryside. The property is beautifully decorated throughout, immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you may need. Mark and Gary are amazing hosts and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived, thanks to their friendly welcome and warm hospitality throughout our stay. We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing break, and La Distillerie suited us perfectly. The pool, patio and garden areas are wonderful, with fantastic views across the open countryside. There are also lovely villages to visit within an easy driving distance. A big thank you to Mark and Gary for making our first visit so special, and we look forward to returning!

We had a wonderful week at La Foret! A beautiful home and grounds, we hardly left the pool. A perfect place to relax and unwind, great for extended family time together. Thanks! We hope to return.
Our stay was as much about the garden as the stunning house, the electronic gate at the entrance worked a treat each time we used it. Three of us each had a bedroom and all the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and lounge were fully equipped so we wanted for nothing. We linked our laptop in to the CD via a two-to-one 3.5mm jack lead which we take everywhere, so were able to listen to our collection of music through quite a reasonable hi-fi system. The large TV, although not HD, was great for any English programmes you just couldn't miss, even on holiday! We made the ten minute scenic drive up to the boulangerie at Bertric-Buree for our baguettes, croissants and pain-a-raisins most days as there are no shops in Lusignac, just a bar restaurant. The croissants were enjoyed sitting outside the kitchen / living room area on the middle floor, which has a stunning view. For our first week, the temperatures were in the mid-thirties so it was lovely to cool off in the pool. With the pool being quite long, you could actually swim, rather than just splash about which was great to keep a little bit of fitness going. Now the garden. As having a very keen interest in natural history, especially butterflies, we contacted the owner and asked if he could leave the grass uncut, so that any wild flowers would be there to attract butterflies for our photography. He duly obliged. This resulted in a count of thirty one species of butterfly just in the garden, with another five spotted whilst out on our travels. Non-British species included Scarce Swallowtail, Swallowtail, Pearly Heath, Mallow Skipper, Map and the star of the show, Large Blue, which were extinct in Britain until being reintroduced recently. The grass areas provided a fantastic environment for butterflies and other insects. This little area truly is a spectacular insect haven. This is without the lavender hedge which runs down one side of the entire drive. No red squirrels, but we watched birds of prey circling as the farmer cut the field in the valley and amongst other species of birds, there were a pair of Golden Orioles which flew by regularly. If you are looking for a modern house in an attractive location with lovely pool, lovely view and ridiculous number of butterflies, this is it!
Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness. The Loft has been amazing for us - so comfortable and beautifully decorated. We have very much enjoyed our morning coffees, lunches and dinners on the terrace. We have relaxed and read lots of books, which is just what we needed. The restaurant recommendations have been really helpful. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

The house is stunning and the pictures on line do not do it justice, we will be sorry to leave at the end of our stay.
A stunning villa perfectly set up and loved by our children. The extra touches like coffee machine, Lego for the boys to play with, a bottle of champagne to welcome us on arrival were excellent. The boys loved the heated pool, walking into town for bread / croissants in the morning and lunch on the terrace. Some excellent restaurants in town including Chez Paul, Maison Conti, La Ripaille, Les Palmiers and La Pomme d'Amour. The Pedahorail is not for the faint hearted. Had a lovely holiday. Thank you!
The Castle is Amazing! We had the best of times here in the castle full of laughter, joy, wine and good food. The castle is amazing and we would love to come again. Thank you for sharing this place we felt as if in part of a fairytale.

We have had a great quiet stay in your house! We went one day to Carcassonne by car and visit the beautiful area. The pool is great, we will miss it!
What a wonderful stay we had at Camirout! You only truly feel the atmosphere of a place when you’re there, and Camirout absolutely has a unique charm. The care and love put into the garden are noticeable, it was a delight to be surrounded by all that greenery! We enjoyed lovely walks, explored castles, and of course had a blast in the pool. Thank you Madeline and Alan we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will cherish these beautiful memories forever!
I fell under the spell of this beautiful, atypical residence. Its proximity to the Duras castle gives it a magical touch... There is all the necessary comfort for visitors and the bedding is quality. On one side of the residence, breathtaking view of the beautiful swimming pool and the valley and on the other side, magical view of the castle fortifications. I will not reveal any more and leave the pleasure to the next visitors of discovering the other little treasures that this house hides. The village of Duras is typical of small provincial towns with its beautiful and colorful local market. In the evenings, very good festive atmosphere.
Possibly the loveliest holiday I have ever had! everything about the house and area was stunning, but mostly importantly as someone with children it was very practical. Information about the local area and things to do was provided a few weeks earlier which was an inspired idea as meant that I booked things and also had things to look forward to. The house was beautifully done. The living area on the top floor has beautiful views and is wonderfully put together - my son spent a huge amount of time relaxing in the Eames style chair flitting between Minecraft and looking out at the hills. The middle floor ensures cool bedrooms with plenty of bathrooms / showers. And the ground floor is super chilled. Then there is the secret garden which was just magical. I will not divulge it as genuinely a lovely surprise. However it was a wonderful place to decamp to either for an afternoon or at the end of a day trip. For me the house and gardens were absolutely gorgeous and my deepest regret is that we did not enjoy them more. Needless to say that halfway through the holiday I was already looking to rebook for next year. The location was perfect as both practical and beautiful - a stunning home in a tiny French village, but the Intermarche is 10 minutes away! You had medieval church bells but knowing that food and wine was within easy reach. Even the neighbours were chumbly with my very basic French. I genuinely felt as though I had got away from it all, enjoyed a small part of French village life and had a holiday.
I cannot say how much I love this amazing old stone farmhouse; it has been so immaculately restored and is both stylish and supremely comfortable. The gardens are beautiful (what a fantastic collection of Salvias) and the infinity pool, with its view over the surrounding countryside, is a dream ( both for proper swimming of lengths and for sunbathing). I could spend all day here. It is lovely to have a choice of outdoor eating areas for long lunches or relaxing dinners. I love the fact the there are lots of delightful historic Bastide towns within easy driving distance, both for historical sightseeing , fabulous food markets and outstanding restaurants (Auberge Le Prieure at Moirax being my personal favourite !) I have visited the house three times now and each visit has been magic.
Fantastic Water Temperature. There isn't much to add to the previous reviews except to say, thank you Denise and Michael for a great week. To be able to walk straight from the house into the pool and not have to brace yourself for the water temperature was fantastic! The apartment was wonderful with real attention to detail and of course everything was spotless.
We certainly had a restful and memorable holiday at Château Monjardin... the house and grounds are magnificent and provided a lovely quiet retreat that the whole family enjoyed.
What an incredible home base! We felt so fortunate to return here every day after days spent exploring the beautiful towns of Lot and the Dordogne. We wondered whether we might find Castelnau-Montratier to be a little too quiet, but were always grateful for the respite. The house and its quiet luxury hiding behind the unassuming little gate was a constant surprise to us and we loved every minute. Many thanks to Barbara for quickly responding to our every query. We are already wondering when we'll return! P.S. Viking chess is our new favourite game!
