We were the first French to stay in this house, which is very pleasant and practical for family life, especially with children. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which was greatly appreciated. The kitchen is well equipped and we had a very nice basket filled upon arrival. The garden is extremely pleasant, enclosed, with a pétanque court at the back and games for children. The barn has several games: billiards, table football, table tennis, darts. It is also possible to play badminton and rackets are available. Ideal even when the weather is not nice.

Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness. The Loft has been amazing for us - so comfortable and beautifully decorated. We have very much enjoyed our morning coffees, lunches and dinners on the terrace. We have relaxed and read lots of books, which is just what we needed. The restaurant recommendations have been really helpful. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.
Wonderful house for 7 people. The rooms were very spacious, as was the outside space. Excellent for families I would say. A very warm welcome by the host and pool was attended to throughout. Many thanks to Victoire and Gaby.

This was a lovely relaxing week for Clive and myself and our two doggies. Thank you Richard and Meryl for being so welcoming and helpful. Also thank you for all the goodies you left in the gîte including treats for the dogs - very thoughtful Everything in the house was immaculate and to such a high standard. We spent a lot of our time visiting many of the local villages for lunch. We would particularly recommend the Auberge at Bardigues and Hotel d'horologic at Auvillar - very nice!

Thank you so much for a relaxing week - it was just what we needed! The Loft is truly exceptional and Oscar has loved playing in the garden. Visits to Narbonne, Carcassonne and the Sigean Animal Reserve were great. The highlight for us was the Gouffe de Cabesprine caves - a must see!

We had a lovely week enjoying the beautiful house and pool and breakfast and barbecues outside. We had highly variable weather but that enabled us to discover Périgueux and Saint-Émilion. We highly recommend Aubeterre and the bar Brasserie in Verteillac Le Calice. Many thanks.
We stayed at the end of June to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday with family and friends (16 of us). The setting is beautiful and looks out over a valley which is particularly nice in the evenings whilst relaxing on the terrace with a wine or two. We had a fabulous holiday. There's something for everyone at the château, lots of activities in the sports hall to keep everyone occupied but what we especially enjoyed was the vintage swimming pool and the golf course which was challenging but enormous fun. Our week flew by far too quickly and we will certainly look to return. Thank you to the owners Nicky and Richard for making us feel so welcome and for making my wife's birthday such a special occasion.
This was our first ever holiday rental and it has set the bar very high indeed. From the moment we arrived to a warm and friendly welcome by our hosts (Katerina and Stephen) to the time we departed with the same warmth and friendliness still on display we could not have wanted a better start to our extended holiday. The cottage is very well appointed and is a perfect size for a couple. It had all the facilities one would hope to find to make our two weeks very much a 'home from home' sensation and provided space for the two of us to move around comfortably. The pool is also excellent and reflects the great care our hosts took in ensuring everything was perfectly presented. The location - in the Vezere valley - is ideal for visiting the numerous attractions of the area. Pre historic caves, stalagmite and stalactite caves, fortified houses, gorgeous châteaux and so many utterly charming villages. We even ventured into a canoe for a 12km cruise down the Vezere which allowed us to see the valley from a different perspective. Although we love visiting different places there is a high probability of us coming back again!
We have enjoyed our stay at Villa Lavinière, more a home than a rental! A trip to Grasse. A lunch in Minerve (superb crêperie). Abbey Fontfroide and lunch in the restaurant but you need to book. Carcassonne old town. Don't miss 'le petit train' and the canal du midi and the indoor market. Restaurant in Feline-Minervois. Olonzac market on Tuesday morning. A swim in the pool everyday. Looking at the night sky. Just laying on the poolside sun beds. Thank you for letting us share your home.
We have absolutely loved staying here! We have enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, laying by the pool and preparing meals together. Chef Arnaud was wonderful and we highly recommend him. We visited Duras, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Saint-Émilion, Sainte-Foy, Bordeaux and Cap Ferret. Coming back home here at the of the day always felt like home and we hope to visit again. This is our 10 years anniversary and this home was great vacation for a special trip together. Thank you for sharing your house.
We have enjoyed every moment of our holiday here. We wanted to get away from our busy lives in London…and we did! Lounging by the pool or in hammocks, followed by evenings with delicious BBQs. Pézenas is a sweet little town with great places to eat and shop. Visit the market on Saturday for an explosion of the senses! We can't wait wait to return next summer.
We've had a lovely week here at the villa. It's been especially good for our youngest family member who has really enjoyed playing here. We loved the heated pool, especially when the clouds come over the fun can continue. Absolutely recommend a trip to see Carcassonne for those wanting a day trip, but remember to check what is open. A fantastic place to be, hosts are very friendly and helpful. The gîtes are beautiful decorated and the view is stunning. Well what can we say 3 generations of our family under the 2 roofs. Fantastic place for the kids to play and safe for them, footy, boules, table tennis all used. Went canoeing in Brantôme, kids loved it! BBQ and outside table made evenings so special. Thank you.
This is our second family holiday in this wonderful house. The welcome from Ian and Hugh when we arrived was excellent. The house and garden are beautifully cared for and the standard of accommodation is 'five star'. It felt like home from home rather than a soleless rental property. Having the owners on site was a plus as they where able to guide us with local activities and restaurant recommendations... there is a lot to do in this area and being so close to some of the best wine regions in the world is definitely a big plus. We also has a lovely day in Bordeaux, which is an easy drive or train journey and well worth the effort. We plan to return next year for our summer break and I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful peaceful haven to anyone wishing to experience the best in hospitality! A Perfect Family Retreat – Exceeded Our Expectations! We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful villa and it truly exceeded our expectations. The photos on the website don’t fully capture the charm and spaciousness of this property. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. La Ferme Éclaircie is brilliantly laid out, offering plenty of open space, which was perfect for our family of five. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. Each room was spotless, tidy and provided ample storage space for all our holiday belongings. The games room was a fantastic bonus, keeping our children entertained during the occasional rainy day. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible pool. Our three boys absolutely loved it and spent hours splashing around. The gentle slope of the pool was especially helpful for our youngest, who learned to swim during this holiday - an unforgettable milestone for our family. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which was ideal for both daytime relaxation and evening games as we watched the sun set. The peaceful surroundings and stunning views added to the tranquility of our stay. La Ferme Éclaircie location is perfect for exploring the local area, which offers plenty of activities to keep a family like ours busy. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, this villa is a perfect choice. Overall, our stay was wonderful and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!
Very good welcome. Cleanliness of the house, space, functionality, pool safety, baby equipment, everything was there. The surrounding setting of course is wonderful. Quality restaurants close by. Family stay that we were able to fully enjoy. Recommended, to be repeated.
