We stayed at the end of June to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday with family and friends (16 of us). The setting is beautiful and looks out over a valley which is particularly nice in the evenings whilst relaxing on the terrace with a wine or two. We had a fabulous holiday. There's something for everyone at the château, lots of activities in the sports hall to keep everyone occupied but what we especially enjoyed was the vintage swimming pool and the golf course which was challenging but enormous fun. Our week flew by far too quickly and we will certainly look to return. Thank you to the owners Nicky and Richard for making us feel so welcome and for making my wife's birthday such a special occasion.

We are truly sad to be leaving this incredible house, beautiful landscape and extraordinary people. We have felt truly ‘at home’ here and have so enjoyed being ‘en famille’ in such a wonderful house. You have both been so welcoming and we go home feeling we have made good friends. We’re now even more determined to find our own ‘patch’ of this wonderful region to call home. A Bientot’. We have had an amazing holiday! A gorgeous villa, clean and well-equipped. Thank you Philippe for being such a wonderful host – especially for the delicious pastries! The villa is so lovely that we have been more than happy to have some lazy days but we have also had some great outings. Carcassonne and its castle is not to be missed. The market at Olonzac on a Tuesday is fabulous. Narbonne beach is stunning and we really enjoyed seeing and taking a boat trip on the 9 locks of Fonseranes. We would not hesitate to return here – I think it would be very hard to find another place as good as this! Very sad to be returning home but very lucky to have made some amazing memories!
Thank you so much for your hospitality and attentiveness during our week with you. Your property really is the most wonderful place - both to stay and to explore this part of France. The gardens provide both a sense of space and tranquility - the pool and its surrounding terrace is a real sun trap and as the days turn to evening the raised terrace at the front of the property is just ideal for those pre-dinner drinks, enjoying the conversation while soaking up the amazing view across the rolling countryside as the sun goes down - perfect. We particularly loved the atmosphere and seclusion of the rear courtyard and the outdoor kitchen and lounge area was a delight for our al fresco dining! The other beauty of the property is its great location which provides a base for touring around the region - fantastic. We are both looking forward to coming out again ! Thanks again.
Another amazing stay at Maison Baleyssagues where we were very warmly hosted by Frédéric and his team. Such a peaceful location, sitting proudly on the hill top with panaramic views. Very spacious gardens topped with a beautiful pool and it’s own water fountain. Inside the villa nothing is left to chance with a fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. Looking at the pictures only tell half the story, it’s a superb place, if you don’t book early you’ll miss your chance as this place is always full, I wonder why?

5 stars are simply not sufficient when it comes to a review of this outstanding gite. A truly fabulous week starting with a warm welcome (and delicious cognac cocktail) from Mark and Gary and then the luxurious surroundings which we adored, 7 days of absolute luxury and a credit to the wonderful hosts who made our stay that extra bit special. Attention to detail is exemplary, everything you could possibly need is provided (from whisked milk for the perfect coffee and an air fryer to the hairdryers and divine smelling body wash and in the waterfall showers). The welcome hamper was a delight and Mark and Gary were the perfect hosts with excellent recommendations for dinner (Le Boule D’Or and Les Droles were excellent) and places to visit. Everything is utterly spotless (including the pool and terrace which were meticulously cleaned each day) and the beds are like sleeping in the clouds. The welcoming scent throughout is something we’ll remember at home thanks to a visit to Aubeterre to Savon Garde. We cannot fault this incredible haven of tranquility and luxury and are already planning a return visit. Thank you Mark and Gary for transforming La Charmante Distillerie to such an outstanding holiday destination, and for your hospitality from start to finish.
We had high expectation of this holiday and were not disappointed. The property is a piece of history in an area steeped in the past. From the moment we arrived, greeted by a couple you seemed to have been friends with all your life, the stresses of every day life evaporated. We immediately felt at home and were very quickly making plans for our next visit. The cottage looks picture postcard from the outside and there really is no detail left undone. The inside has its historic charm in place but with all the amenities necessary so that you are not required to live the Médiéval lifestyle of many some other rural accommodation in France. The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated and there are large bathroom and shower facilities (upstairs and down). The private swimming pool is superb and was for our sole use. Its clear waters under pine trees and a blue sky were idyllic. It was difficult to tear my wife from the pool side. The cottage fits perfectly into an area of outstanding beauty where many of the sites we wished to visit were only minutes away. The owners were very welcoming and provided good advice on the places to visit but were not overwhelming so that you could always enjoy complete privacy. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot recommend it more highly. If you want to tour the area to see the 1,000 châteaux and the countless prehistoric sites in the area or just chill by the pool, this is the place for you. Thank you for a lovely week.
Thank you so much for a much needed relaxing week in your beautiful home! We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here, especially time spent in the beautiful garden where we enjoyed the wonderful weather and had lots of fun - very enjoyable for my 5 year old! We've had a wonderful week here in such an amazing, spacious house. We have enjoyed being near to Najac and being able to walk there for lunch and exploring, especially the castle. The views at breakfast with the clouds are quite spectacular. Today we visited the alpaca farm and really enjoyed our tour round the various fields of alpacas. The children particularly enjoyed feeding them. The swimming pool has been a real highlight and wonderful weather an added bonus. Many thanks to Henrietta for her welcome and amazing suggestions and all the help.
We utterly love everything about this beautiful house and its tranquil setting. We hope to return someday and will keep fond and happy memories of our stay.
A beautiful villa, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated with many amenities and sensational views. Equipped with everything a large group requires, lovely pool area, varied seating options for sun or shade and a short distance from scenic Tourtour village.
My wife and I have been visiting France for over 20 years and The Loft is the best property we have stayed at. The photographs on the website do not do it justice. Russell and Karen have fitted out The Loft with wonderful taste and all of the bathrooms are top quality including the selection of toiletries left for their guests to use. Their attention to detail is second to none. We received an extensive welcome pack when we arrived at the house and Karen even delivered fresh pastries for breakfast on the Sunday morning from the local Boulangerie. Outside the house there is a beautiful pool and garden but the jewel in the crown is the large sheltered "porch area". This is a half open and half covered space off the front of The Loft where you can choose sun or shade during the day. The BBQ is there along with a big dining table and also sofas for relaxing. It’s a fab place to eat and drink during the day or on an evening with a lovely view of the extensive gardens. Rieux Minervois is a nice little town situated in the middle of the Minervois wine region It has a good Italian restaurant within 2 minutes walk from the house, which Karen kindly booked it for us for the night we arrived. The food was very good. The town is also well placed to visit Carcassonne, Narbonne and several of the coastal towns; we particularly enjoyed Gruissan. It is also surrounded by many other small villages with excellent restaurants if you want enjoy a lazy lunch during your holiday. Karen will even book them for you if you ask. Overall we spent a lovely week in The Languedoc. Thank you Russell and Karen for your hospitality and for going to such lengths to make our holiday so memorable.

Beautiful house, beautiful setting and wonderful location! We’ve had an amazing two weeks here and have loved both days here around the pool and some day trips out - Le Franqui beach, Carcassonne and our boys particularly enjoyed Lac’cro Park and the dinosaur museum at Esperaza. Thanks to Nathalie and Mike for always being on hand to help and answer any questions and for being so welcoming. We don’t want to leave!
What a fantastic holiday we had at Villa Galinette. Everything you could possibly need or want was there, the villa was spacious and loved all the different places available to chill out. Would definitely recommend to others.

Would like to keep this place a secret. We had such an amazing stay, there was plenty of room inside and out. We knew the area quite well and there are plenty of activities for the kids and adults within 20 mins drive. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and simply stunning! The children loved the spaces inside and out there was lots of areas to play and explore. Our hosts couldn’t have been nicer extremely helpful without too much intrusion. I’m not sure I want to leave such a good review as would like to keep this place a secret as we hope to book again. Thanks again Katie for a wonderful stay!

This was not our first visit to La Barde and yet again we have enjoyed a wonderful family holiday. The house has such character whilst being both spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well resourced and the sitting areas both inside and outside comfortably sit 10 people. The garden is beautiful and filled with an array of varied and colourful plants and shrubs whilst the pool is large and cleaned regularly by the owner. Yet again we enjoyed some lovely days out to Saint-Émilion, Brantôme and Cognac to name a few - and of course some pleasant evening drinks in Verteillac. Thank you - we have treasured memories of a fantastic holiday!
Thank you for the opportunity to have another wonderful holiday in this beautiful villa. Everything has just been perfect! Came prepared this year with my 'adult basic piano lessons' and loved the chance to try and play again. Not so sure it was as pleasable for those listening!
