Great house! Wonderful stay in this cosy house. We very much enjoyed the beautiful spaces of the house. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Thank you for a fantastic week in your beautiful home. We absolutely loved exploring the Loire and a swim in the pool was a wonderful way to end each amazing day. Our children spent hours exploring the garden and relishing in the space and freedom it gave them. Many thanks.
Incredible experience, all we could have wished for and more. Perfect location, beautiful villa (and pool) and thoughtful welcome amenities.
The apartment has amazing views and the balcony is such a lovely place to sit and relax whilst looking out to sea. It's so spacious and also has a dining table for al fresco meals. A huge supermarket is literally opposite the apartment. It's easy to get a train to the big resorts - Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice. Trains are quick and if you nip upstairs you get fabulous views of the coast! We also recommend 'booking bikies' located at the marina. It's so easy to cycle around with dedicated cycle lanes along the whole coast. We cycled into Antibes twice, a lovely town and well worth a visit. The ride is completely flat and takes about 25 minutes. Great for an early morning run too! Along the seafront there are numerous restaurants and places to enjoy a drink.
We had a lovely time in this fantastic location. The villa is perfectly located. Our 3 favourite restaurants: 1, La Belle Etoile - La Roque de Gageac 2, Hôtel Dieu 3, La Romane Thank you Jackie and Geoff. A lovely home with character and a real French charm.
Thank you for your lovely welcome. The house and garden are so very beautiful and a real inspiration. We have felt completely at home. Your wonderful information book has been invaluable. We hope to return soon.
We have had an absolutely lovely week at Grand Mauran. Congratulations on a really super, comfortable and well equipped house, we would all recommend it to friends.
The pool is really heated! Many pools in the south of France 'suggest' they are heated. However, Les Fumerates' pool - which is huge - actually is heated! In fact when we arrived the pools temp was 29C (86F)! After unpacking we took an early evening swim followed by an early morning swim... You get the idea... Like the picture suggests the views here are amazing. We had the downstairs apartment which was perfect. Two sets of French doors lead you to the pool, there are retractable awnings to shade you while having breakfast. The master bedroom is very large with a king size bed and a queen size bed which is great for unpacking or sitting on etc. There's a second bedroom and a breakfast / TV room. The kitchen was spotless with a view over the pool. A/C worked well (very important from mid June until end of August). Also there are 2 bathrooms (very handy). All in all highly recommended.
We had a pleasant family stay in an exceptional domain, tastefully decorated, very well equipped, consistent with the description. Sandie is very available and very pleasant, I recommend without problem. Thanks.
Wonderful House - fantastically equipped! We really appreciated the fans in the hot weather! The games room was superb - hardly saw the kids all week! Your recommendations in the purple pages were great. A very tasty trip to Royan for some seafood. Sitting on the terrace, looking over the views was beautiful.
We had a wonderful stay in Maison Richelieu. The house is extremely elegant and had everything needed. The pool and outside entertaining areas were excellent. It was an amazing house.
Beautiful, comfortable, romantic! Thank you for everything and see you soon.
Lovely relaxing holiday. Fab pool! Enjoyed the breeze, so not too hot. Well equipped kitchen super upstairs living room! Enjoyed.
Just a brief note to say a big thank you for letting us use the property for 2 weeks. The house is very well kitted out with lots of information on hand. During this week we visited Gordes and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The area is gorgeous and we will be back.
The house is perfectly equipped, clean and located in a fairly quiet area.
We had the most relaxing and wonderful stay at this property. Julian and Pascal made us feel very welcome, gave us all the privacy we needed but were on hand if we had any problems. The house is charming and quiet with a beautiful orchard and quite possibly one of the nicest pools we've ever had! One of the highlights for us was watching the bats come out at night. We would love to return one day.
A fantastic place to be, hosts are very friendly and helpful. The gîtes are beautiful decorated and the view is stunning. We had a great time and I would not hesitate to book this beautiful domaine for a holiday again. I wrote a comment in the guestbook to encourage other people to spend their vacation at L'Oliveraie.
Holiday of a lifetime. From Australia, we planned this special holiday celebration for a 70th birthday with a 50th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a place to make wonderful lifelong memories and Chateau Bourgogne did just that. Autumn colours arriving to the Chateau, leaves with pink and greens, provided a stunning affect. The castle transported young and old to past times. An exceptional Chateau experience
Thank you so much for your very warm welcome at Piglet. What a wonderful house ! Vouvant is a delightful village which we enjoyed getting to know. Altogether a lovely spot.
Domaine du Château is the most beautiful and well equipped house ever. Better in the flesh than the photographs suggest. We stayed as a group of 11 extended family members and a couple of babies. Largely because of babies and children, we wanted a place with a pool where kids could be when adults were doing other things. Domaine du Château was perfect for this. The owners, have a history of taking groups to rental houses around Europe. They took notes and used them in renovating this property, resulting in attention to detail that makes everything work for a large group. I cannot think of a single thing that was lacking in making the house work for us. There is an exceedingly well equipped cook's kitchen. Every bedroom was beautiful with en suite bathrooms. They have cribs and the ability to turn the bedrooms (or at least some of them) from queen beds to twins. The bedrooms are arranged in pairs with good separation from other pairs of bedrooms. All are well away from public rooms where there might be noise. There are even two pairs of washers and dryers, so no queue for doing laundry. There are multiple outdoor terrace areas and a stunning view from the salon terrace over the pool to the hillside village beyond. The house is about 40 minutes from Beaune in a beautiful rural area. It is a great cycling area. The Voie Verte that runs from Santenay to Nolay might be the most scenic ride in Burgjndy. Once you get on it, you are completely separate from cars and riding on the level through stunning vineyards all the way. The house is also close to the Canal du Centre which is another great biking opportunity along the old towpath. Beware that the house is uphill from both, so the return may be a bit challenging for some riders. We rented bicycles from Bourgogne Randonées in Beaune. They were delivered to the house and were in mint condition. Must not forget Stephen and Lilly, the house managers. They live in a separate area of the property. They are a delightful couple with an enviable history of adventurous living. They were completely unobtrusive, but there to meet any need we might have, including doing the shopping for us one day. On the subject of shopping, do not miss the Sunday morning market in Chagny. There are dozens of vendors with beautiful local produce, cheese and meat, as good as can be found anywhere.
A great place to stay, ideally located for Vouvant, which is a lovely town and a genuine short walk for something good to eat and drink. Fontenay-le-Comte is an interesting large market town. Fervent is worth exploring with pretty forests, lakes and rivers. The owners pool is a good size and adjoins their property. The hosts were very welcoming.
Had a wonderful week. Perfect weather, beautiful house, great hosts and a fantastic base from which to explore. Thank you.
As a group of 7 from age 2 to 62 and having had similar holidays in recent years this has been the best. Wonderfully well equipped with thoughtful advice everywhere. Everybody loved the pool and there are plenty to things to see and do in the area, thanks again.
Will dream of the view and hope to come back! Just on the view and location alone—book this apartment! Absolutely stunning view of one of the most beautiful places on earth overlooking Lake Annecy on a spacious, covered patio with full dining table, lounge furniture, and barbecue. Easy walk or drive to the restaurants and shops of Talloires and 20-30 minutes drive to all the best the outdoors have to offer. Inside, the space is perfect for a family of four (one master with full bed and armoire, kids’ room with two single beds and armoire plus bonus toys) and open living space with a modern kitchen, table, and living area. Bathroom is standard cozy European, but the walk-in shower was nicely designed to give the maximum possible space and water pressure. Claude and Michelle were friendly and responsive, and they left a big guidebook of local tips.
The apartment is incredibly cool and offers a breathtaking view from the large balcony. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, which suited us very well. We will definitely go back. It is good to know that there is no grocery store in the immediate vicinity. It is recommended to have a car if you do not choose to do your daily exercise in connection with your purchases. :)
We have had a very relaxing and restful week here, with perfect weather. We loved the pool, playing table tennis and darts. The house has everything you could need and we have enjoyed having so much space inside and out! The surrounding area has lots to offer – Chauvigny is beautiful (we recommend The VeloRail) and we spent a wonderful afternoon kayaking at Angles sur L’Anglin.
A charming property and in great location to explore the Loire Valley. Great property- a true piece of history, well persevered and maintained, with a charming personal interior touch of the owners, and in an excellent good location for exploring the Loire Valley. We spent a week in late July, two families with two teenagers each, and we had a great time. First the property – you arrive through a generous and welcoming front yard. The house itself is a really great piece of historic architecture (probably 400 – 500 years old) and full of character and charm, from the traditional contractions materials (stones and old wood beams), large traditional fireplaces in each room (one still fully functional). At the ground floor there are large rooms (living, dinning, library and a full equipped kitchen) so anyone can find its own space, in case for any reason you want to stay indoors. On the first floor two large bedrooms and another two bedrooms on the second floor. Plenty of space for 8 to 10 people. Coming out on the back of the house it is the real “piece de resistance”, a vast garden with a well maintain lawn, swimming pool and a pool house with lots of games. It is here where everyone spent most of the time. We had great weather, so when we were not out visiting the region, we were in the back yard (your private little park) swimming in the pool, playing ping-pong, badminton, fuss ball or playing fetch with our dog. Second the location –great base for exploring the Loire valley, from a genuine vegetables farm that is just next door, an unassuming but great boulangerie in the village and close proximity to Samur, to numerous castles that are in 45 – 90 minutes drive. We would recommend a visit to Chateau Villandry castle, a bit atypical for the region, as it was renovated and used in the modern days and its gardens are exceptionally, even by French castles standards. We also did a day trip to the Atlantic coast and had a lovely day on the beach. To sum up, all you need for a great vacation – a property full of character and charm, lots of activities indoor and outdoor and a great location to explore one of the most interesting regions in France by car or by bike.
