Les Fumerates encompasses everything you dream about for a vacation on the Côte d'Azur. We were met by Michael and his wife who gave us a full tour of Les Fumerates. We unpacked and got to soak in the beauty of the place. From the moment we stepped in, we could tell that much love and care had been put into their home, down to the smallest of details. The location, absolutely perfect - next to one of the most beautiful hill towns in Southern France: Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Lovely place to explore and have an al fresco dinner. Don't miss Restaurant Le Tilleul and La Colombe d'Or. But also don't miss the chance of cooking your own dinner and eating al fresco at the villa. The view of the pool area, city and the azure sea in the distance all add to the dining experience! Les Fumerates is located in a perfect spot - away from the hustle and bustle of Nice, Cannes and Monte Carlo and yet easily accessible to these locations (truly). A supermarket, boulangerie and great shopping mall are all a short drive down the hill. We took the opportunity to see as much as we could see and as many places as we could see - yes, I need a vacation from my vacation! During France's heatwave, we were happy to return to the villa which had air conditioning in the main living area and all of the bedrooms. We also made good use of the gorgeous swimming pool. Reluctantly, we had to leave Les Fumerates and continue our journey to Provence. Without a doubt, we would like to return - but next time at a more leisurely pace! Depending on your itinerary for visiting the French Riviera, as there are so many places to see (we didn't even make it to Italy), I would urge you to consider 2 weeks at Les Fumerates. You won't regret it! Truly a memorable experience that will last a lifetime!

Thank you for a wonderful holiday, staying in your beautiful villa. We have loved the pool and the garden, the views are stunning and we have very much enjoyed taking our coffee in the mornings and drinking our wine, sitting at the various places dotted so perfectly around the grounds. We have enjoyed the Monday morning market in Duras and the nights market at Monsegur on Wednesday evening. Thank you Frédéric for his warm welcome. It has been a truly relaxing and enjoyable week.

Wonderful! We just loved our week at this fabulous home. We are a Canadian family of 8. 5 adults and 3 kids ( ages 13, 10 and 9). After eight days in Paris, this was the perfect place to chill. The setting is fabulous. We had a spectacular view of Grasse and the surroundings and we enjoyed many glorious sunsets. The patio area really was the winner. Spacious with lots of room for everyone. The house was very well equipped and the owners were very responsive to any little concerns or questions we had. Great pool. Kind hosts. Highly recommended.
Great spacious house with plenty of room for our family of 6 adults both inside and out with a suitably large pool. Would also suit 2 families holidaying together. Good peaceful location with all essential amenities within walking distance e.g. supermarket ; restaurant; butcher; etc. and easy driving distance to other local villages and Béziers. We had a great time here and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

We have just spent an amazing fortnight at Maison Labarde in Lauzun hosted by Jean and Martyn. The gite is really well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and is cool inside, even in hot weather. Jean kindly provided many complementary extras for our arrival which was very much appreciated. A great outside kitchen with gas BBQ and additional fridge was perfect for outdoor dining and drinking! The pool was immaculate and cleaned daily by Martyn and there were various floats, water toys and inflatables available; the water temperature was just right- in fact it didn’t drop below 28 degrees for the whole fortnight. We enjoyed the extensive garden using the various seating areas available, all with parasols/ gazebo for shade if needed. It’s a lovely part of France with lots of Bastide towns to visit with markets, fetes and musical events in the summer months, as well as vineyards and châteaux for wine tastings at every turn!! Jean and Martyn were excellent hosts, friendly and informative about local events and places to visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this holiday gite and hope that we can return at some point in the future! Merci beaucoup!!

What an amazing chateau you have, breathtaking; everything that we needed and more. We have enjoyed 1 wonderful week, wish it could have been more. Julie, Paul and Steven - you have been fantastic, always on hand for advice and support and ideas. Especially enjoyed our ‘feast’ in the Dining Room celebrating Alan’s 70th birthday with laughter and some lovely memories that will stay with us all forever. We had a great holiday at Maison D'Aze, this is certainly one of the best houses we have stayed in over the numerous years we have holidayed in France and we will certainly be looking to book the property for future holidays.
Superb house for couples of friends or families with children. Each of the rooms has its own bathroom and WC, there are board games, bikes... and it is quiet.
Wonderful holidays in Nissan-Lez-Enserune. We had wonderful holidays there. Location was very convenient, inside the village where shops / market were at walking distance. Our car remained within the property, so no pb to park. We took it only to visit the nearby cities of Narbonne, Gruissan and Béziers (20/30 min ride). The house was clean, with recent works being done and well equiped (nice kitchen and bathrooms). Pool was large, clean and surrounded by beautiful oleanders. We'll consider coming again for sure. Excellent. We had a very good stay. The villa is very well equipped, dishes, utensils, everything is present. An exceptional panoramic view of the vineyards from the house and the swimming pool. Warm welcome on our arrival and guaranteed rest in the middle of the vineyards.
I'm going to preface this review by saying our extended family have hired a number of châteaux over the years, so we have something to make comparisons with! Without doubt this château offered the best value for money we have ever enjoyed. Our party of 18 used all the 10 bedrooms on offer, without anyone having to compromise on bedroom space. The kitchen was large enough to cater for the entire party with plenty of worktop space and a large island unit. Refreshingly there are plenty of cooking utensils and professional sized pans etc. There are three fridges, we used the large stand alone fridge for food,= and the two under counter fridges for 'adults' and kids drinks. The lounge diner is huge and comfortable, with good quality games available, including chess and backgammon. The pool is among the largest we've ever enjoyed with a deep end you can actually dive into. At points we had a dozen people in the pool and still had room to swim around. There are two main terraces, both easily able to accommodate at least 20 people. Smaller seating areas are dotted around the grounds so if inclined you can take yourself off for a bit of peace and quiet. There is a new and very good quality BBQ on the rear terrace with a moving charcoal tray which means you can raise the heat source as charcoal burns away. We were able to BBQ for 18 on half a bag of lump wood. Our party had 5 cars, the driveway was large enough for them to be parked so that everyone could drive out of the château without the need to move another vehicle. Saving the best to last, the sports hall/games room is magnificent. With a full sized badminton court, a basket ball hoop, 2 table tennis tables, table football, a darts board,= and a full sized pool table our whole party had plenty of activities to choose from. This facility was constantly used for weeklong knockout completions including our own decathlon type event. Modesty prevents me revealing who the best pool player was. From our perspective, this vast array of facilities and activities provided the perfect ingredients for our first ever holiday where children needed no entertaining at all. Finally a place they can truly entertain themselves.
A wonderful first week to our holidays. The house is wonderfully renovated and has everything a family can wish! We also had the chance of a very warm weather which gave us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great terrace and had al fresco dining every day. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful property. PS: The Auberge St Jean is a must eat in the area!

Your house has been such a beautiful place to spend a week of our holiday. We've loved every minute - so much so that we didn't go far from Le Chambarru. The attention to detail was fantastic - from the decor to the 'welcome basket' to our name on the gate. The only thing missing was that we only stayed for 7 nights. We are returning guest since now more than 5 years. We love Villa Baleyssagues and Frédéric ! We love everything in the house and all the different changes/improvement in the house due to new ownership. Pool remain the same with its impressive shape ! The only negative point is that the house is rapidly fully booked !!!

The place is absolutely beautiful, the pictures don’t do it enough justice. The grounds are spacious, there’s a huge garden with everything you need in terms of a pool, BBQ, play area, etc. You have your own driveway and a covered car park.
