Wonderful time here in Sarlat. This house is perfect for seeing the area. Lots of great things to do within easy distance. The house is in a beautiful location and with the high temperatures this week the pool has been a godsend. Everything in the house is geared for visitors and it's really well equipped. This is my first time in the Dordogne and it's absolutely beautiful. I will certainly come back soon. Thank you Jackie and Geoff for a wonderful holiday.
Wonderful stay over the Easter weekend with a group of friends. Amazing house that had everything we needed in the most stunning setting. Sandie was great to deal with, really informative and responsive and made us feel right at home. The wine store in the house with amazing local wines at unbelievable prices was a real bonus!
Galina was a great and accommodating host and we appreciated our stay at her villa. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. Just note that the connected rooms on the first floor have separate entrance. More generally and even thought there are a couple of elements which could be improved, we certainly will recommend renting the villa.
A very well located and easily reachable and comfortable villa, close to Cannes, the beaches and the mountains. Quiet area, large pool and nice gym.
We really had an enjoyable holiday. The house was perfect for our needs and the garden was just a joy. In fact the actual is better than the pictures on the website. It was a perfect stay for us as we were looking for a quiet time with privacy. The location itself was perfect as it was close by the liveliness of the Mediterranean coast.

We spent a wonderful week in the accommodation. We were able to take full advantage of the swimming pool and the outdoor space. The amenities matched the photos and everything was top quality. I recommend the villa to everyone. Beach, town and tourist sites are all within a 10 minute radius. We would particularly like to thank Marie Christin for her welcome.
Many thanks for a wonderful week, we have so enjoyed this lovely house and the beautiful area around it, we wish we had more than a week to see more of what we wanted, we enjoyed the circular walk through the mixed pine forest, it’s very pretty and only 2 km long. We loved l Auberge du petit bistro in Vinsobres (a 2/3 minute drive), this was our favourite eating experience, while Vaison la Romain was lovely to visit. Many thanks for bringing us to all these wonderful experiences.
A wonderful place, where we can’t think of any way to improve. Really a big 10 The house is spacious and fully furnished ( you don’t miss anything, especially not in the kitchen!) The pool is super and the surroundings beautiful, you can relax completely there. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

We returned to La Charmante Distillerie in July 2025 for three weeks after the most fantastic stay last year - and it felt just as special, if not more so, the second time around. Mark and Gary have created something truly memorable here: a place that strikes the perfect balance that is beautifully designed and endlessly comfortable, peaceful without being remote and thoughtful in all the ways that matter. Everything is designed to help you slow down and properly switch off. Our daughters, 13 and 15, instantly settled back into their favourite rhythm - hours in the pool, relaxing in the snug, making jewellery outdoors and enjoying the freedom the setting creates. And we did the same— café and a book in the early morning sun, long lunches and quiet evenings with a cocktail or two, followed by some stunning late-night stargazing. One of the real joys of returning was being able to explore the surrounding communes a little more, expertly guided by Mark and Gary’s thoughtful suggestions. From stunning local restaurants and distilleries, night food markets, artisanal crafts in Aubeterre, fascinating visits to beautiful Templar churches and an unforgettable day at the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux. Every recommendation was exactly what we didn’t know we were looking for. It made the whole experience feel richer and more connected. What once again made this visit even more meaningful was having Mark and Gary as hosts. They are the kindest, most generous and genuine couple. It’s rare to find a place that gets under your skin in the best possible way - but La Charmante Distillerie has done exactly that. Returning felt like coming home and we left feeling recharged, grateful and already planning our visit next year….....if Mark and Gary will have us. Its also hard not to repeat what we said after our first visit in 2024: we’d love to keep this our own little secret… but that wouldn’t be fair. It really is the perfect destination with the perfect hosts.

A wonderful week in the villa! The sun has shone and we've made the most of the pool! Very welcome relief from the heat. Villa is very well appointed - everything has been thought of. Local team were great, a quick response to our queries. We explored Pezanas and the beaches at Portiragnes and Sète - both fabulous! We agree - the welcome wine was a lovely thought - a good introduction to local wines! Thank you for a great week!

We already came a few years ago. Nothing much has changed within this walls, around Duras or within France. Frédéric as helpful as ever. The perennial aide. Stayed at the property for two weeks at the end of July. The property has been beautifully renovated and most things are on hand at the villa. The house has everything that’s needed for family and friends to enjoy from a great kitchen to a nice garden and patio and good sized pool. All in all this is a beautiful house in a lovely setting and I would certainly return.
This is a beautiful, fully modernised house in a lovely friendly village. A well designed spacious house over two floors with a large balcony from the modernised kitchen and lounge overlooking the pool and views of the surrounding areas The property is perfect for lazing by the pool and is Ideally placed for trips to many nearby beaches and to the cities of Narbonne, Béziers and Montpellier.
Villa Funel was in a lovely position being very private with glimpses of surrounds. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well furnished with everything you could need and more (much better than some previous villas we have rented!). The pool was a good size, gorgeous, nice to swim after sightseeing. I would thoroughly recommend this villa to either a couple or a family.
Very good welcome. Cleanliness of the house, space, functionality, pool safety, baby equipment, everything was there. The surrounding setting of course is wonderful. Quality restaurants close by. Family stay that we were able to fully enjoy. Recommended, to be repeated.
All of us have had a lovely holiday - so relaxing! Much reading, drinking wine, lying in the sun and swimming. Absolutely perfect! We went to Carcasonne which is stunning, but it was unbelievably hot! (and the whining children not the easiest!) Thank you - It's a great house. And we echo all the above sentiments. It has been perfect week of pure relaxation - the owner is absolutely right when he says that there is no very good reason to leave the house - we managed an afternoon in the Montagne Noir - stunning views especially from Saissac. The house is perfect for all of us. A huge thank you to the owners for making it so good.
We have had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. We appreciate how clean it was when we arrived (thanks Yvonne) and the wine. We love the decor and period furnishings. The pool and small barn were great. It was interesting to hear about the history and previous occupants of the house from Bob and Margaret, the English neighbours across the road. Thanks. The property Mas des Rivailles is a super place in a great part of France. One of the best swimming pools we have experienced and the family used it all day every day during our stay. The house is really comfortable with lots of areas where the family could spread out to do some work or just have time on their own. Having three formal eating areas meant we could mix it up where we had lunch and dinner. There are great countryside views from all of the windows and the house is in a very peaceful and serene setting. I must commend Frederic, the local property manager. He was there to greet us when we arrived and lead us through the property and all of the bits and pieces and local knowledge which made the experience so great. He is very solution focussed and solved minor issues in a no nonsense, relaxed and timely fashion. Many thanks for all.
