Lovely both in the day and even more so at night, when it is more peaceful than anywhere I have ever been! It is a lovely spot and a very special home.
Lovely, charming and authentic house in Lusignac. The house is as described with great facilities for our summer holiday. We were 8 adults with 2 infants ( 2 yrs and 18months) and the house accommodated us all really well.
We celebrated a big family birthday at Château Mabrouke and enjoyed a welcoming and stunningly beautiful home, with great fun at the pool, tennis court, zipline and on the dance floor. The Pyrénées were the backdrop to the most glorious of settings. An unforgettable holiday.

Very good welcome. Cleanliness of the house, space, functionality, pool safety, baby equipment, everything was there. The surrounding setting of course is wonderful. Quality restaurants close by. Family stay that we were able to fully enjoy. Recommended, to be repeated.
This house was fantastic! Inside it was like a show home, beautifully designed. The kitchen was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The garden was well laid out with direct access to the shaded dining area, under the trees for shade and the pool. The views were stunning over the valley and the sunsets were breath-taking. A walk down to the dam is recommended where you can take adip in the river, too. We made trips to the sea which is circa 60 min and to local villlages. The local village is 5 min drive and has a friendly store well stocked, a café and newsagent. There is a litle van which pulls up at approx 10 am which sells bread and pastries. We would definitely recommend this house.
Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful house with us for our honeymoon. We have had a wonderful time exploring the Loire valley, highly recommended, we even got to spend 3 days by the pool! The garden is simply stunning and is a real credit to your hard work.

Beautiful villa. We had a fabulous stay in this gorgeous villa. It's in a lovely quiet village. The pool is perfect for two and the villa is very comfortable. We will definitely be back soon.

We have had a wonderfully pleasant stay at Le Malardier. The weather was very hot for a few days and much rain is needed. The views and layout of the property are very suitable for a large family group. The years of construction and design have really paid off. So, thank you for your kind hospitality.
This villa is beautiful. We had an exceptional week. Very modern hyper equipped with a very tasteful, high-end decoration. We were charmed by the villa. The owners are very nice. Very well located 15 minutes walk from the most beautiful village in France. We are used to renting prestigious villas. This one is undoubtedly in its place on the podium. I would even say on the highest step taking into account the kindness of Karine and Éric, the owners. We highly recommend!
We have had the most wonderful few days at this most beautiful house. I couldn’t believe how heavenly it all looked as we drove into the gates. We loved being here with good friends and had the best time. Many thanks for a perfect place to be.

A wonderful week spent at this wonderful villa. Had a lovely time visiting Château de Monbazillac, Montcaret and Bordeaux. We all have had a fantastic time in the swimming pool. The children didn't want to get out! Thank you to Frédéric for a warm welcome on our arrival. We would love to stay again.
What a beautiful location, breathtaking. A very warm welcome, you feel at home because of the fine reception. The hosts help you with everything you could want. The gîte is also spick and span and meets all your needs. Had a very relaxing holiday. Exactly as it should be! We recommend it to everyone and will definitely come here again.
A lovely fortnight here in Ventenac-en-Minervois. The house and all of its wonderful facilities are exactly as billed and everything is in first class condition. We enjoyed eating at the 'Grillade du Château' - excellent meat cooked on a wood fire whilst being entertained by their chickens! We also explored villages by the Canal du Midi - Homps and Le Somail and went to the medieval village of Lagrasse which was excellent. Thanks to our excellent hosts, Eric and Dominique, they were extremely helpful and responsive to any queries we had. We recommend this place for a relaxing and comfortable holiday.
Thank you for giving us the chance to stay at Château Monjardin. It's such a beautiful château. Such an interesting building and such a peaceful setting. We had a wonderful, relaxing week and the children had a great time playing in the pool and in the grounds. Thanks again Joseph and hopefully we'll visit again sometime.

This is our second time at Maison Allemans we absolutely love the house. When we arrived this year Dermod laid on a cold meat salad with wine and beer just heaven after a long drive from the uk Hopefully in a few years we can return with all our new grandchildren.
Lovely villa, boys enjoyed the pool and the garden! Had great trips to Montpellier and Carcassonne. Visit Pézenas on a Wednesday evening and visit all of the artisans stores! For beaches the long stretch between Sète and Agde is very quiet.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home, we had a great holiday here. Everyone enjoyed the peace and traquility of the beautiful countryside all around us. The night sky was amazing, so many stars! There was plenty to keep us occupied. We will be back next year and look forward to meeting you again. Thank you for all the thoughtful additions for the children. There was so much to keep them busy. There were four generations and we all managed to laugh, rest and play.
Beautiful and large residence decorated with care composed of a house equipped with 2 living rooms, a large fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms and as many bathrooms upstairs. A gîte outside with 3 bedrooms and living room, a magnificent convivial room with table tennis, billiards, fully equipped bar and home cinema. Mark, despite the distance, is very responsive and sympathetic. One of his friends came to make sure, the day after our arrival, that we were properly installed. The house is well placed to visit the surrounding villages: Bergerac, Issigeac, Boucle de la Nette, Château de Biron, Villareal ... To be redone in the summer to take advantage of the majestic swimming pool! We STRONGLY recommend!
We already came a few years ago. Nothing much has changed within this walls, around Duras or within France. Frédéric as helpful as ever. The perennial aide. We returned to La Charmante Distillerie in July 2025 for three weeks after the most fantastic stay last year - and it felt just as special, if not more so, the second time around. Mark and Gary have created something truly memorable here: a place that strikes the perfect balance that is beautifully designed and endlessly comfortable, peaceful without being remote and thoughtful in all the ways that matter. Everything is designed to help you slow down and properly switch off. Our daughters, 13 and 15, instantly settled back into their favourite rhythm - hours in the pool, relaxing in the snug, making jewellery outdoors and enjoying the freedom the setting creates. And we did the same— café and a book in the early morning sun, long lunches and quiet evenings with a cocktail or two, followed by some stunning late-night stargazing. One of the real joys of returning was being able to explore the surrounding communes a little more, expertly guided by Mark and Gary’s thoughtful suggestions. From stunning local restaurants and distilleries, night food markets, artisanal crafts in Aubeterre, fascinating visits to beautiful Templar churches and an unforgettable day at the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux. Every recommendation was exactly what we didn’t know we were looking for. It made the whole experience feel richer and more connected. What once again made this visit even more meaningful was having Mark and Gary as hosts. They are the kindest, most generous and genuine couple. It’s rare to find a place that gets under your skin in the best possible way - but La Charmante Distillerie has done exactly that. Returning felt like coming home and we left feeling recharged, grateful and already planning our visit next year….....if Mark and Gary will have us. Its also hard not to repeat what we said after our first visit in 2024: we’d love to keep this our own little secret… but that wouldn’t be fair. It really is the perfect destination with the perfect hosts.

There are too many favourite moments but the pool is definitely one of them! Brantôme - Kayaking was fab! Aubeterre-sur-Dronne in the evening is a must too!
