We loved this peace! Thank you so much for making our week here the best we have had ever in France. All your help and tips made a perfect week to us. We can certainly recommend La Route du Sel. Bike rental from Gennes was also a great way to see La Loire. Thank you also for keeping the house and garden so beautifully. We hope to come back!
We had a wonderful stay! The grounds are very spacious and we received a warm, friendly welcome. The gîte was well equipped with everything we needed. The WiFi was externally disrupted before and during for our stay but the owner had already organised an alternative, which was much appreciated. The pool was fantastic, with lots of pool-side paraphernalia to use, and we also enjoyed making use of the gym. The owner kindly provided us with fresh eggs and delicious, meaty courgettes – such a treat! Their young Bernese dog is absolutely adorable, though still very much in training and at that cheeky teenage stage. All in all, a lovely stay, and we’d love to return one day.
What an absolute joy to spend in such a wonderful house. We have had such a lovely fortnight and will miss the view and the birdsong each morning, but hope to see it all again one day’.
We stayed for one week and we cannot wait to go again. When we arrived we were surprised how spacious and homely the villa was and it has amazing views. It is wonderfully located about 5- 10 minutes walk from the centre of Callas which is a typical Provençal village. We really enjoyed walking there every morning to buys our bread and croissants for breakfast. There are also some very good restaurants in Callas. The pool is lovely and we even swam every day in May. We ate in the garden and it is wonderfully quiet and tranquil. The region is full of breathtaking views and there is loads to see and do. We went to the Gorge du Verdon (Europe's Grand Canyon) and the beach at Saint Raphael and Juan les Pins. We had a really brill holiday and hope to return.
Just to say that the property was outstanding and we thoroughly recommend it to other families. It was great for young children and having a bathroom with each bedroom was exceptional.
We are so grateful to have met you both! Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us. It was everything we dreamed of and more. We leave for London feeling rejuvenated from the warmth and tendriers you showed us. We can't wait to see you again.
I stayed at your house five years ago for my 50th in October, along with friends and family. We all loved it and often that trip gets mentioned. We love the area and just last Boxing Day completed on a purchase of a house just down the hill from Cordes, having sold up in the UK and moved out last year. We have great memories of that birthday and I mention my little story, as it was the stay there that cemented our desire to move to France.
We've had an excellent time in this beautiful villa. Sunbathing by the pool, swimming and rock climbing (just some of the things we've done). We hope to be back next year.

Wonderful time here in Sarlat. This house is perfect for seeing the area. Lots of great things to do within easy distance. The house is in a beautiful location and with the high temperatures this week the pool has been a godsend. Everything in the house is geared for visitors and it's really well equipped. This is my first time in the Dordogne and it's absolutely beautiful. I will certainly come back soon. Thank you Jackie and Geoff for a wonderful holiday.
Thank you for letting us stay once again. I wish I could stay longer! I love playing in the garden - it makes me feel really happy because it has lots of space to play in. Sam has really enjoyed roaming around and playing with Mack and Mabel - I have too. Hopefully to see you soon in October and definitely next summer.
Superb property with great facilities in a queit hamlet in the countryside a few kilometres from Puy L'Eveque and Prayssac. Really friendly owners who gave great advice on markets, restuarants, river-swimming spots and canoeing options... .as well as home grown cucumbers ! - July 2023
What a fabulous week! We wanted a cosy bolthole as a base to explore the Lot Valley and were not disappointed by Le Petit Pigeonnier du Lot. The open-plan ground floor was cool in the midday heat and comfortable in the evenings. Good sized dining space, lounge area and sunken kitchen with a large table. We had everything we needed. Upstairs the master bedroom was spacious and dual aspect with a large ensuite. The two twin rooms were comfortable and personal. Everything was spotlessly clean and in excellent condition, while still being welcoming and personal. The outside space was of an equally high standard. A patio area for dining al fresco, bbq and a beautiful pool area, set in an established garden of trees and shrubs. It was a perfect place to while away the day. The pool was a very comfortable 29 degrees c and maintained by the host, Debbie, so we didn't have to do any more than enjoy it! Debbie was an excellent and considerate host. We were greeted on arrival with cool drinks and a warm welcome and she was helpful and kind throughout the visit, arranging a few restaurant bookings and leaving gifts of fruit and vegetables from the property at our doorstep. Debbie was particularly lovely to our teenage daughter who was enamoured by the house cats. The surrounding area was beautiful, with lots to do and we loved every minute of exploring it, but it was always nice to come 'home' to Carcavi.
Absolutely gorgeous house. Périgueux and Saint-Émilion were both charming - wonderful food, too. Weather has been idyllic and the swimming pool and loungers were a perfect way to relax. We will greatly miss this house and take with us very happy memories of our holiday here.
Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness. The Loft has been amazing for us - so comfortable and beautifully decorated. We have very much enjoyed our morning coffees, lunches and dinners on the terrace. We have relaxed and read lots of books, which is just what we needed. Can't believe the stay is almost at an end. We have had a lovely time and the weather promised poorly but delivered very well, which enabled daily swimming in the brilliant pool. We all enjoyed the games of TT (table tennis) and boules competitions. So many interesting things to do in the surrounding area; we only managed Bergerac twice. Once for a wine tasting in the wonderful Maison du Vin and once for a very enjoyable boat trip. Golfing Black Kheri and the walk around the lake Les Graoussettes. The cave at Les Eyzies was very informative and curious to note the difference in scenery; handles not to be missed! Apart from the BBQ provided, we happened on Thursday Market at Monpazier; simply great and such a pretty place. We also enjoyed the marché gourmand at Villeréal (every Monday from 6.30pm. Bring tablecloth, cutlery and drinking vessels). Their counterparts in Issigeac on Thursdays during summer. Restaurant L’Atelier in Issigeac was a wonderful treat on our penultimate day and we would suggest booking a place at their mini, shared table and great food and plenty of wine.
As we drive north towards home we are reflecting over so many happy memories during this past week. Your beautiful home so full of character and comfort certainly made all the difference to our holiday. We loved it so much I am almost embarrassed to say we only ventured out once for a half day outing (to the lake!). We were all so happy just to be around the pool. We took full advantage of everything you offered... nightly boules, both upper terraces, BBQs, table tennis, the gorgeous private patio outside our room and all that the pool area had to offer etc etc. Dave loved Sonos (but never roused Alexa) and the path along the canal for him to run on... and the challenge of the gates which were fine in the end. The three grandchildren, 2½, 14 months and 5 months loved it all. In fact the one year old took her first steps in your front garden! It was a very special holiday for us all and we just wanted to say a huge thank you for opening your home to us.
Our holidays are already finished. The house is really fantastic. Thanks for all the comfort.
We had an excellent stay in this magnificent house where everything has been thought out so that young and old can make the most of the holidays. We were a group of 3 couples and 4 children and each got enough space and privacy. The house is very beautiful, well decorated and pleasant to live in. The garden is very beautiful and the pool area is perfect! The barn converted into a games room was also very popular (especially since the sun was not there). The kitchen is fully equipped. In short, we highly recommend this rental!
We have had a a relaxing week in this lovely gite. Madeline and Alan are great hosts. Respect your space but on hand for advice, local knowledge and a chat. We enjoyed kayaking on the Lot, exploring the local area on our bikes and enjoyed using the lovely pool each day (our son's favourite part!). We loved our visit to the Latour-Marliac for a great lunch and a lovely walk around the gardens and amazing water lilies. On our last night we had a great meal in the fish restaurant 'Blue Marine', Villeneuve-sur-Lot. We also had a nice meal in the week at 'La Commonderie' at Temple-sur-Lot. A great holiday. Thank you. We were four related families of eight adults and 8 children aged 3-7. The palatial exterior of the Chateau belies the comfort and homeliness of its interior which boasts some of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. The shuttered windows and the judicious repositioning of a vase or two made it easy to child-proof the rooms. The magnificent parkland of trees, lawns and flower-beds offers a short-walk to a fully enclosed and secure open-air swimming pool, which was a particular highlight. The views across the surrounding countryside are simply stunning. We particularly valued the extensive space, the quiet and the privacy. Gaelle was extremely helpful in dealing with any queries and we are grateful to her and her family for sharing their home with a large group of complete strangers. Fiona
Another lovely holiday at the Loft du Vigneron, this time for 2 weeks. It was lovely to see Karen and Russell again. They were charming and hospitable just like before Everything was perfect for us and the weather was amazing, swam every day in the beautiful pool. Karen booked some restaurants for us, recommended by her, and they were excellent. Highly recommend this property, the best ever.

Wonderful. It felt very safe for the little ones who enjoyed being able to roam free. Very well maintained and everything well thoughout. Perfect set up - a real home from home! We had everything we needed. The pool was a hit with adults and kids alike. The canapés were articularly good and greatly appreciated, they were tailored for a dietary requirements. Briliant week.

One of the loveliest and peaceful lodgings of my two week 1000+km driving tour of South Western France. La Petite Maison Générille is nestled in verdant hills overlooking the most beautiful natural and historical settings in all of France. Though it is located in a hamlet enclave that feels worlds away, it is so conveniently located to access many châteaux, stunning river drives with views of the "falaises" - the ancient cliffs, and numerous restaurants found in charming villages that won't disappoint! Alll within a 10 to 20 minute drive. This is a place that you will want to return to again and again!
We spent a truly magical and wonderfully memorably week at Maison Tilleul last summer. It was everything we dreamed of. Stunning grounds, modern facilities, beautiful décor and every amenity you could need. The village is peaceful and picturesque. The countryside was quintessentially French. The historic and geographical wonders that provide endless options for afternoon drives or day trips, were all worth every minute driving through the vineyards and mountain passes that the region offers in abundance. There are wonderful restaurants and bars within walking distance and short drives. We had a spectacular evening watching the sun set with a cocktail at Côté Resto set amongst the vines of Domaine Gayda, followed by exquisite cuisine and a buoyant atmosphere. We sampled traditional Blanquette at the atmospheric Abbaye Saint-Hilaire. Explored the impressive Gorges de Saint-Georges and mountain villages. The Cathar castles and ancient city of Minerve, were stunning and like nothing I’ve seen before, both in scale and the history associated with them. I have visited the Languedoc for years, but Le Parc made it a year like no other. Thank you for the privilege – memories have been made and will be treasured.
