Our stay at La Petite Maison Générille was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel instantly at home. The property itself is breathtaking - a perfect balance of elegance and nature. The beautifully maintained gardens, softly illuminated in the evenings, create a romantic and serene atmosphere, while the untouched woodland adds a sense of tranquility and adventure. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the luxurious accommodations to the stunning swimming pool overlooking the picturesque landscape. Whether we were exploring the nearby historic villages, indulging in the region’s incredible food and wine, or simply relaxing on the terrace, every moment felt special. La Petite Maison Générille is more than just a place to stay - it's an experience, one that lingers long after you leave. We can't wait to return!
A very friendly welcome. The place is very quiet while allowing visits to tourist sites. The kitchen is very well equipped. We enjoyed discovering the family history (which manages the nearby Napoleon Museum).
From the garden the mountain and surrounding vine yards are blindingly beautiful, the day beds under the fig tree was my favourite place over looking the pool and could spend all day there. The whole house is fantastic and the interior also, I absolutely loved it, thank you for these two great weeks,
The combination of lovely accommodation, beautiful surroundings and the swimming pool made Piglet Barn a wonderful place to stay. In addition to being an interesting and picturesque village, Vouvant is a great location for the start of circular bike rides and walks. We especially enjoyed the riiverside walk, the Sentier des Rives. The Saturday market in Fontenay provides an enjoyable shopping experience. Many thanks for a great holiday.
Our visit was a combination of stepping back in time and renewing our future selves. The estate is a magical place to explore and I found myself checking out of life's hustle and bustle. A short stroll to the village offered a variety of delicious fare, shopping and amazing photo opportunities!
The house is fabulous, well maintained lots of character and charm, but well equipped too for modern living. Beautiful pool and gardens and an exceptional host . We had plenty of sunshine so we were able to really enjoy the beautiful countryside and nearby quaint villages. A really good holiday, thank you.
This is the ideal destination for an outdoorsy type holiday. The walking is superb and the scenery is magnificent. It is, quite frankly, a bit of a wrench to be leaving.
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. We just wanted to say thank you for a great week in your beautiful house. It is a magical place and we have fond memories already. Thanks for arranging for Suzanne to cook for us. Her dinners were a great success and her sorbet surprises were a matter of intrigue on both evenings! We hope to come back again in the future and we look forward to seeing you again.

Not only do you have a truly beautiful house in a fantastic location, but your hospitality, support and advice allowed us to relax and enjoy our break to the full. The villa proved to be the perfect home for the week, as it ticked so many boxes:- A friendly villa owner who spoke good English, a ten minute stroll to the beach and restaurants, five minute walk to Cros de Cagnes station where you can take the local train to Cannes in 24 minutes and Nice in 15 minutes - so no need to have the hassle of car hire, a well stocked supermarket a 10 minute walk away, within walking distance of the free bus up to the beautiful hilltop village of Haut de Cagnes. A clean, well furnished villa, with every room having individual controls for the air conditioning settings... lovely when you come in from a hot day out! Ice on tap from the huge fridge and a swimming pool at just the right temperature - day and night.
We had to wait a long time for our much anticipated return visit to your wonderful villa - and it did not disappoint. We have had the best time, Sophia enjoyed the pool (as we all did). Great place to explore this fabulous area, a boat trip to Saint-Tropez and Port Grimaud plus two beaches. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us. We look forward to coming back for a third time.

Wow ! Totally surpassed our expectations. The attention to detail is amazing. This place is truly unique, the decor and furnishings are beautiful. The outside space is spectacular. I could ramble on for hours about our stay, not to mention all the incredible things to do in the surrounding area.
We have had at the perfect family holiday at Le Manoir de Duras. The tomatoes from the garden were a delicious bonus! We all loved the pool and laying on the sun beds late a night watching the stars. Has some great meals in town and daily boulangerie too. A trip to the chocolate factory is a must. perfect on a rainy day for the kids! The house is absolutely stunning. were all agree one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you.
We already came a few years ago. Nothing much has changed within this walls, around Duras or within France. Frédéric as helpful as ever. The perennial aide. We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house, beside the river. Everything really comfortable and close to lots of things to do. We had a lovely day in Bordeaux visiting the fantastic cathedral and the great shops. Sadly, we are going home tomorrow but will remember our visit fondly.
Special features are the large swimming pool close to the house. Beautiful rural views. In summer there are night markets in surrounding villages where you can buy all kinds of foods, from omelettes to snails, and eat them outdoors on long trestle tables - a treat for locals and tourists alike. A wonderfully relaxing place to stay, highly recommended.
I just wanted to say that we all found your house to be absolutely lovely. Everything we could have hoped for. So many nice touches, you clearly put a lot of thought and no doubt effort into making it a very special place. We especially loved the pool of course, which has such a great design for the little ones with the shallow section, but we loved the whole place. Everyone was very happy there. Many thanks

Everything was made so easy for us - the Loft is fitted out perfectly with so many additional little touches that we wanted for nothing. We particularly enjoyed the barbecue, the fantastic coffee machine (we're buying one when we get home!) and having breakfast and dinner on the amazing terrace. We had a good look round the local area and were particularly grateful for all your tips and recommendations. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing stay. We know the area well but usually stay in more rural areas. What we absolutely loved most was being able to stay so close to the incredibly beautiful town of Sarlat whilst having the feeling of being completely remote! The wonderfully enclosed garden and pool gave us a rural vibe with all the benefits of being able to walk to amazing restaurants every evening. Your villa definitely provided the best of both worlds for us and we will definitely be back.

You have been fabulous hosts, and your suggestions of places to visit and vineyards to try have been spot on. After ‘confinement’ in Paris for many months, the pool was a joy. We love the garden and it’s shady spots and enjoyed Mack and Mabel’s company. We can see why people return to this wonderful place, and we hope to be one of them very soon. Just a short note to say how much my wife and I loved our stay at Les Faures in France last September. We were amazed and delighted at the size of the house with its many rooms and amenities, as well as the mood of relaxation in the beautiful setting which we were able to enjoy while there for two weeks. We enjoyed the large pool area and the expansive grounds, but we particularly loved the quiet and privacy of the country setting, but still near enough to the small local villages, with interesting cafes, markets and old buildings – just right for local drives to explore the beautiful area. So many exciting features - we would give this property a 5 out of 5!
Beautiful château, very comfortable for a large group of mixed ages. Fantastic for children and adults alike. Lovely pool and trampoline was well used. Appreciated the DVDs and TV access. Brilliant choice of catering and all delicious. Perfect service, thank you.
