We enjoyed our relaxing holiday at Le Tesquet which lived up to expectations. The accommodation was great with everything we needed>Pete was a genial host who was fun of good ideas and suggestions. The swimming pool was wonderful. Thank you.
Our week at Mas Saint-Martial was everything we wished for and exactly what we needed. We leave relaxed and recharged. Thank for being such fan tacit and warm hosts. A holiday to remember. We enjoyed swimming and sunbathing at the pool and the amazing garden.
Memories: The views from the house. The wind, like a freight train through the mountains! Wednesday night pizza van. Minerve – nice and quiet (La Terrasse for eats). The front shower – I want this in my house! The fridge/freezer – cold water and ice on tap – something else we'd want in our house. Lazy days by the pool with a pot of coffee and a book. Villa Lavinière has everything we needed, and more. What a lovely house. Definitely one we'd come back to and recommend to friends.
I fell under the spell of this beautiful, atypical residence. Its proximity to the Duras castle gives it a magical touch... There is all the necessary comfort for visitors and the bedding is quality. On one side of the residence, breathtaking view of the beautiful swimming pool and the valley and on the other side, magical view of the castle fortifications. I will not reveal any more and leave the pleasure to the next visitors of discovering the other little treasures that this house hides. The village of Duras is typical of small provincial towns with its beautiful and colorful local market. In the evenings, very good festive atmosphere.
Over the years we have holidayed as a family in numerous French villas and without a doubt La Charmante Distillerie knocks spots off the rest. The standard of accommodation, both practically and aesthetically is second to none: the AC works beautifully and silently, the car charger (22Kw) was brilliant (we had 2 EVs), the quality of fitments is of the highest standard, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms (all 4) impeccable. The decor and artwork are also very pleasing. Outside, the grounds are beautiful, the gardens well tended, and the pool area vast and everything you could wish for. We spent many happy lunchtimes under the pretty awning and used the excellent plancha barbecue. Mark and Gary were extremely welcoming and generous to a fault with the provisions and drink left for us. We weren't allowed to leave anything untouched! All in all, a fabulous home from home to spend with the family - we were two each over 3 generations, and we didn't fall out once. I can't recommend La Charmante Distillerie highly enough, and it was a pity we could only stay a week.
Perfect peace and luxury. Château Velouse is the perfect place to relax: large, beautifully furnished bedrooms, luxury bathrooms, extensive walled grounds, an orchard, seats tucked away under shady trees, well equipped large kitchen and a heated swimming pool with comfy beds and parasols. The château is far enough from the road to ensure that bird song is the loudest noise you will hear. We had a marvellous week with a large group of friends ( 15 for dinner one night ) and the château never felt crowded. The outdoor dining terrace was perfect of an evening and we sat late into the night laughing, drinking and playing giant jenga! This venue is perfect for a group of friends or family to spend quality time together in beautiful surroundings. You do need a car to get out and about and Bourges is well worth a visit when you can tear yourself away from the pool.
We absolutely loved Maison de la Calade. A beautiful villa in a gorgeous location with stunning views. Five stars from us. Beautifully decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean (We met the cleaning girls upon arrival who were lovely and welcoming and very helpful) very well stocked in terms of everything you need. We had a mixture of ages and there was something for everyone, room to socialise if we wanted to but plenty of nooks to escape to. The gorgeous sized pool In the lovely garden grounds was a huge hit in the August heat. Biot although up a hill is only a stones throw away and has lots of great restaurants - we'd love to come back one day.
We spent an excellent weekend in a house that corresponds in every way to the description: comfortable, spacious, magnificent view. The weather was unfortunately not favourable for a dip in the pool in February, but we imagine how pleasant it can be. Ideal house for a family reunion
What a wonderful week, the house has real soul and you have thoughtfully made the very best of each view. Wonderful seats in the garden, shade and sun to maximise the pleasure. The house is absolutely charming and all the finishing touches have made for a very special week. Not only a holiday but I feel culturally enhanced too. Uzes is absolutely perfect + great shops + food!
Turtle name suggestions- Flash Louie Elliot Raphiel We have really enjoyed staying in your beautiful home. We have been lazy and mostly stayed by the pool. We had a great couple of meals in St Émilion and we visited some vineyards. All in all a fabulous holiday. Great hoss, and the house is very well equipped!
We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from the owners Caterina and Steve, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed in many lovely places over the years but this place is truly special and a perfect little gem... the interior is beautifully presented with many thoughtful touches, from the fresh flowers to the fragrance sticks... Caterina keeps the place fresh and immaculate, a home from home! Steve works hard to keep the pool and the grounds in tip top condition, which we really appreciated. We had been staying with family in nearby Sarlat prior to our arrival which was rather hectic and we were looking forward to relaxing and having some 'chill Tim'... for sheer relaxation and tranquility this place is hard to beat, in a fab location and we would return in a flash!
THE LOFT! - Undoubtedly the best accommodation we have ever stayed at in France. A great concept realised in every detail. Wonderful hospitality on our arrival and throughout our stay. Your new B&B concept is beyond our imagination and will be utterly unique on completion. Beautiful villa, fabulous pool! We loved our stay in Maison de Saint-Jean. The villa is big, beautiful and cool (the weather was HOT!) and extremely well equipped. The beds, in particular, are super-comfy and we really appreciated the extra touches, like piles of big lizard-patterned pool towels (in addition to soft white bath towels for everyone), gorgeous soaps in the bathrooms and a huge range of kitchen equipment (including sharp knives - hurrah! - and a coffee machine). The pool is a good size (long enough to swim 'proper' lengths) and it was lovely to take a dip in soft, salt water, rather than the usual strong-smelling chlorine. Our teens loved the ping-pong table (and we loved that it was in the courtyard, out of earshot!), the massive bean bag, the great Wi-Fi connection and (face of shame) the BBC channels on the TV. The village restaurant (literally 15 paces away) is great - really friendly, nice food - and there a lots of other good places to eat in the towns nearby (once you've worked out which ones are closed on which days - every one is different!). Thoroughly recommend this villa - we honestly can't think of a single thing it's missing - and the truly beautiful French landscape all around it.

I think your house is possibly the best house we've stayed in in France over the years. Yes, it's just fabulous! We've had a really fantastic week here and I'm pretty sure we'll be wanting to come back next year. Your house has been so generous... I've read some books here, loved looking through the coffee table books too. Your welcome basket was the most generous we've ever received in any of the houses we have rented. Allowing us to use pool towels as well. And I know it sounds a bit like a hotel review but the bed linen / towels and bathrooms were just top quality! Taking a break from it now to start packing up! P.S. We went to Le Moulin for lunch and it was superb. We will be in touch to hopefully book same week again next year.

An absolute joy to stay here! The Loft is perfect in every way. Karen and Russell have literally thought of everything. A wonderful kitchen and gorgeous crockery, loads of utensils - it was a joy to use! Undoubtedly for our four teenagers the Loft terrace has been a major hit. Many an hour has been spent lounging around listening to the water trickling along. Totally relaxing. The recommendations were perfect for things to do, restaurants and vineyards to visit. Karen was so right about la Cite at Carcassonne - beautiful. Many thanks for the welcome, the chats and the wine - we will definitely be back!

Everything was made so easy for us - the Loft is fitted out perfectly with so many additional little touches that we wanted for nothing. We particularly enjoyed the barbecue, the fantastic coffee machine (we're buying one when we get home!) and having breakfast and dinner on the amazing terrace. We had a good look round the local area and were particularly grateful for all your tips and recommendations.
