This is a wonderful place to stay: we, a couple, spent two weeks at Carcavi in September 2022. We wanted a quiet break in comfort and luxury and the house was everything we had hoped for and more. The house itself is very well equipped and has comfy seating and a good bed :-) Carcavi is spacious and beautiful, the grounds are extensive and the pool is excellent. It is very peaceful. There was a generous hamper of food and drink items to get us started. The whole property is cared for to a high standard. There is lots of information in the house itself and of course more is readily available from hosts Rupert and Debbie. We read a lot, enjoying the various places to sit, we swam and M examined the varied local plants and invertebrates with enthusiasm. We enjoyed walks in the adjacent woods and valley. Thanks so much to Rupert and Debbie for letting us use the house phone to call the duty chemist when the urgent need arose, really appreciated.
After a cool and wet start, we have enjoyed a lovely sunny week exploring the area around this charming and well-appointed cottage. Even ventured a dip in the pristine pool! Thank you Caterina, Steve and Bennie.
What a fantastic house in such a lovely location! We had a really wonderful break and enjoyed visiting the local châteaux and villages. Jackie was so prompt in replying to messages. The house and pool provided everything we needed. We definitely would love to return sometime. Thank you so much.
Just packing our bags for our homeward journey after a fantastic two weeks here in your lovely house in Faugeres! After a long journey we were delighted to arrive at your welcoming house. Our stay here has been more than comfortable with everything we needed and more at our fingertips. Your information booklet proved invaluable.
This has been unforgettable and we will treasure it forever and ever. Frederique, your taste and design ideas in the Chateau are just one of a kind. You have inspired us with your interior ideas. We are very sad to be leaving and going back to the not so beautiful England!
I cannot say how much I love this amazing old stone farmhouse; it has been so immaculately restored and is both stylish and supremely comfortable. The gardens are beautiful (what a fantastic collection of Salvias) and the infinity pool, with its view over the surrounding countryside, is a dream ( both for proper swimming of lengths and for sunbathing). I could spend all day here. It is lovely to have a choice of outdoor eating areas for long lunches or relaxing dinners. I love the fact the there are lots of delightful historic Bastide towns within easy driving distance, both for historical sightseeing , fabulous food markets and outstanding restaurants (Auberge Le Prieure at Moirax being my personal favourite !) I have visited the house three times now and each visit has been magic.
Wonderful time in a wonderful house. So peaceful here. The house had everything we could possibly want and more besides (including a visiting woodpecker). Laparade night market was a highlight. The restaurant there is pretty fabulous too. We spent loong days by the pool and long evenings on the terrace. Frédérique and Hélène at the shop provided all we needed including homemade lasagne. And Olivia couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you, Mark and Janet.
Your house is lovely and we all had a relaxing and enjoyable week. I think I can safely say that in all the years of hiring holiday accommodation in France we have not stayed in such a well appointed and well equipped property. Beautiful and large residence decorated with care composed of a house equipped with 2 living rooms, a large fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms and as many bathrooms upstairs. A gîte outside with 3 bedrooms and living room, a magnificent convivial room with table tennis, billiards, fully equipped bar and home cinema. Mark, despite the distance, is very responsive and sympathetic. One of his friends came to make sure, the day after our arrival, that we were properly installed. The house is well placed to visit the surrounding villages: Bergerac, Issigeac, Boucle de la Nette, Château de Biron, Villareal ... To be redone in the summer to take advantage of the majestic swimming pool! We STRONGLY recommend!
Great villa, fantastic weather, good location. The children enjoyed the pool and nana enjoyed the shade of the willow! Lovely beaches like home in Cornwall, if only we had the weather! The jet skiing was awesome and kids caught a squid rock pooling, along with many crabs.
Villa with indisputable view. Everything you need for cooking. Great swimming pool, lighting around it for the evening would be the icing on the cake. Sublime view. Very responsive owner and excellent arrival and departure organization. Quiet and typical village.
What is not to love about this place? Such happy memories of an amazing weekend.
I just wanted to feed back what a lovely time we had in the villa a couple of weeks ago. The holiday was well worth waiting for and the villa delivered on all levels. We were certainly very grateful for the pool to cool off from the sweltering 40c heat and the lovely shaded areas surrounding the pool helped too. Most importantly, our mums had a lovely time. They were each able to have an ensuite bathroom which gave them their own space and privacy and thoroughly enjoyed the pool - even enjoying a splash about with an inflatable dolphin at one stage! (not bad for an 80 year old!) Please pass on our grateful thanks to the owners for allowing us the extra day for free and also allowing our early arrival which made things much easier on the Saturday. The Mums were already in the pool by the time we got back from the supermarket on the Saturday morning. A great success all round, excellent service from Pure France during all the covid changes and a wonderful villa too. Thank you
We spent 2 really pleasant weeks in this pretty house located in the hills of Fréjus. Located in a very quiet place, the house is comfortable and very well equipped with nice furniture.
Thank you for the most wonderful month in Château du Marquey. This is the best house we've stayed in. The rooms are all beautiful and extremely comfortable. The grounds, pool and summer kitchen are magnificent. The two dinners by the private chef, Mylène and Édouard, were delicious and a wonderful experience in the gorgeous dining room. It gave us the perfect opportunity to dress up. The cycling for pensioners has helped work off some of the delicious cheese and wine. You and Philippe have been marvellous hosts, accommodating all our guests' various comings and goings. We will be very sad to leave. Thank you so much!
Piglet Barn is a wonderful place to stay and Annie and John have been such perfect hosts, and gave us such a warm welcome. Vouvant is a lovely and very friendly village and an easy walk from the Barn. We enjoyed visiting the restaurants and doing the local walks and exploring the area. The weather has been perfect so we loved the superb pool. I'm sure we will be back before too long.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your lovely home... for a second time ! We had such a lovely time, it has been harder to leave this time!
The holiday and house was fantastic and we really want to book for next year.
Memories: The views from the house. The wind, like a freight train through the mountains! Wednesday night pizza van. Minerve – nice and quiet (La Terrasse for eats). The front shower – I want this in my house! The fridge/freezer – cold water and ice on tap – something else we'd want in our house. Lazy days by the pool with a pot of coffee and a book. Villa Lavinière has everything we needed, and more. What a lovely house. Definitely one we'd come back to and recommend to friends.
This year we opted for a “green” vacation with 2 couples of friends and their children (in total 6 adults and 5 children) and were very happy with our rental. It’s never easy with the internet and what a great discovery on arrival: a huge, superbly renovated house. Great comfort in this beautiful stone building, in a very preserved natural setting. The rooms are magnificent and particularly large, the 2 mezzanine bedrooms were occupied by the children by adding an additional bed. The collective spaces are also very neat (comfort, decor) and pleasant to live in, special mention for the kitchen equipped with professional equipment, spacious and equipped with much more than is necessary. The pool is even bigger than it looks in photos. For the youngest children we closed it with the electric shutter, practical and efficient. The garden is ideal for a change of scenery and contemplation, the setting is absolutely beautiful. In the end we regretted having only rented for a week, the house is so pleasant that we wanted to stay there and relax but we will come back to continue discovering the Cévennes. In short, an excellent stay and a rental to recommend.

We feel very fortunate to have enjoyed our third visit to the lovely Loft du Vigneron! It has been great to see the Minervois region in a different season. It's a must at Château Velouse! I have just returned from a fabulous reunion holiday of college friends, hosted at this beautiful Château Velouse. Situated in its own absolutely breathtaking grounds, of forest, fields and orchards, the land is vast enough for an early morning 5k circuit run, plus the wall to wall sunshine and a cooling swim in the beckoning outdoor pool of this gorgeous château, is a definite must for everyone! The inside of the château is something to marvel, with every bedroom individually named and decorated to the highest quality. A wonderful self catering holiday for our party of 14, gave us chance to meet with the excellent hosts Philip and Claire. Thank you both for making us all so welcome, we will certainly be returning in the not too distant future!
The accommodation is tastefully decorated and very charming with personal touches.Thanks to Gaëlle and Etienne for their kindness. The rooms each have their colour theme which are all very large and bright. The accommodation is very well equipped. To summarise a magnificent accommodation where you feel good!
As our week draws to a close I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you both for another fabulous week staying in your lovely house. As with last year, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time, both chilling around the pool and house as well as exploring the local area - so many treats to be found.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. The house is very well equipped for a comfortable holiday. The location was perfect, offering peaceful surroundings while being close to local attractions, restaurants and shops. Loved Saint-Émilion, parked easily and not too busy. Very friendly tortoise enjoyed lettuce and came when quickly we called him Ted. Thank you!
