My family had a fantastic 3-week holiday in La Barde, a beautifully renovated farmhouse. So fantastic, in fact, that we secured a repeat booking for the following year prior to departing. We found the property extremely spacious, sympathetically renovated, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for family day-to-day living. The securely gated pool is perfect for children and we all looked forward to cooling off there each afternoon after exploring the various local food markets and other wonderful excursions. The pool is actually quite large, which meant that the keener members of our party could exercise properly and swim lengths whilst the rest of us happily relaxed and drank local wines. The shallow end is ideal for young children to play or practice their swimming and there is a slightly separate paddling pool which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is a barn area with a large BBQ, which we used most evenings, a ping pong table and lots of lawn games. The courtyard, lawn and gardens are obviously lovingly cared for and just beautiful. La Barde is the perfect setting for children to play and for family and friends to relax, talk, eat and drink. Helen and John gave us a warm welcome and were happy to help with any information we needed. They kindly shared some delicious fruit from their garden with us, which we very much enjoyed cooking and eating. We think this is the perfect place for groups of friends or families to holiday together and celebrate special occasions (it would be an amazing place to host a wedding or spend Christmas) because the size and the layout of the house and grounds mean there is plenty of space for more than one family to be together as well as enough space to have privacy. The location is ideal in terms of exploring the Dordogne. We would highly recommend booking this property any time of the year. We couldn’t believe our luck and can’t wait to return again this summer!
From the garden the mountain and surrounding vine yards are blindingly beautiful, the day beds under the fig tree was my favourite place over looking the pool and could spend all day there. The whole house is fantastic and the interior also, I absolutely loved it, thank you for these two great weeks,

A perfect stay for a family Christmas. Plenty of room for 10 people. Beautiful bedrooms and bathroom. A very family-friendly living room, a superb and functional kitchen. We were fortunate enough to stay at the property for a week. 5 star accommodation in a beautiful remote village of Montlaur, perfect for exploring the surrounding wine regions. It was truly an amazing holiday and would highly recommend it for a quiet romantic break or a relaxed family holiday. And oh that Romeo and Juliet Balcony! Highly recommended.

The villa was just as described and was perfect in every way. We chose the villa because everything was on one level and the pool and terrace area were located very close to the main house. We had the most wonderful time and the arrangement of the bedrooms meant we had plenty of space to relax in. The BBQ area was well used. The air conditioning was welcomed during the warm Mediterranean nights. It was also the first villa we have stayed in where we were able to walk to the local town in order to buy our daily croissants. The service we had from Pure France and Philippe was exceptional. Exquisitely renovated French manor house. This house was exquisitely restored with close attention to period detail. It is perfectly curated and integrated with antique fixtures and objects d'art as well all the modern comforts you could want. The kitchen is one of the most well equipped I have ever stayed in so the owners must be cooks. There are lovely spots to sit throughout the gardens with comfortable furnishings. The house itself is perfect for large families or a selection of couples. The location is ideal for touring Chagny, Beaune and the rest of Burgundy. Sigrid was incredibly responsive, helpful, flexible and kind. I can not recommend the home and Sigrid highly enough. We had a completely charming and comfortable stay. Thank you again for sharing your lovely home.
We have had at the perfect family holiday at Le Manoir de Duras. The tomatoes from the garden were a delicious bonus! We all loved the pool and laying on the sun beds late a night watching the stars. Has some great meals in town and daily boulangerie too. A trip to the chocolate factory is a must. perfect on a rainy day for the kids! The house is absolutely stunning. were all agree one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you.

We have had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in this beautiful house in divine location. The garden is filled with wildlife and we've enjoyed many an hour listening to the birds and watching the bumblebees and butterflies. My recommendation would be to sit back, relax and just take it all in.
A beautiful fun filled 7 days in this amazing house. Thank you. Equipped for all 8 of us. Kids swam everyday, favourite game of the week. Dads throwing balls high/low/long and making the biggest splash. Parents enjoying evening games of scrabble over a few too many. Lots of towns and markets visited. We plan to back back to make even more memories. Thank you.
A gorgeous home, with so much to offer! 3 min walk into the beautiful bustling town of Pezenas and you have the tranquility of pool and garden! The pool was a welcome relief from the heat and very welcome after a day out exploring the area! We had some great fun playing table tennis and darts in the games room. We had a wonderful holiday, the lovely, very comfortable and well decorated home facilitated this!
So calm and relaxed! We arrived on Saturday at your beautiful, beautiful house and we enjoy it so much. Thank you very much for the lovely card and the excellent bottle of wine. We did enjoy it yesterday in the evening by the pool. It is so calm here and the pool and everything else is so amazing. We never had such a relaxed holiday for years.
If you like the charm of the old, you will be won over. We particularly appreciated the layout of the house and the exterior. The fact that the swimming pool is in the low garden creates both security but also that the house remains very calm when there is commotion at the swimming pool! We played the most memorable games of ping pong in the shade of the majestic cypress trees and the children spent hours illuminating the castle, the immediate proximity of which is magical.
We had a great time at the house - everything went smoothly. We also spent a fair bit of time exploring the general area although we always ended up back at the large table with a glass of rose taking in the view over the vines come end of day!
Wonderful house full of character. My family had so much fun in the sparkling clean pool. All was laid on in the house and everything so clean.

It felt like we had always known you (perhaps because we’re all Northerners!). The Italian restaurant in the village is great to be able to walk to. A few degrees below 38 would have been preferable, but out of your control! Good luck with the house.
