It looks like the South... Occitanie my love

"It looks like the South. Time is long. And life surely. Over a million years. And always in summer." The South, Nino Ferrer. It sounds like the South, this song smacks of summer, nostalgia, vacations. This imaginary South could take its place in Occitanie. Occitanie was created in 2016 when the Midi-Pyrénées and Languedoc-Roussillon regions where merged. Consequently, it is now one of the largest regions in France.

La Cité Radieuse in Marseille, designed by Le Corbusier

After the Second World War more social housing was needed. In the 1920's, Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris invented the concept of "housing unit". He used the name Le Corbusier as a pseudonym. He imaged a place that would bring together all the necessities for a family in community life. A environemnt with a school, nursery, small shops, swimming pool and a library. In France there are 5 examples of its concept. La Cité Radieuse in Marseille is one of them. It was also called the "House of the Fada".
