It was amazing. The house was beautiful and the pool was really nice. All of my family loved it and we all want to come back next summer.
We came here to celebrate a couple of family birthdays and get some time together. From the moment we walked in the door we quickly came to realise what an amazing place this is. The view from the kitchen window (bu the sink) literally brought my sister to tears. ... in a very positive way. This week has allowed us to explore the area to some degree, but with so much on offer around and in the property, there was little incentive to go anywhere. The difficulty now will be to keep this gem of a property a secret from others, as we will undoubtedly tell everyone about this fantastic place. Thank you for so generously sharing your house. From the moment we arrived we have had a wonderful hols - Richard and Meryl's welcome pack - so thoughtful - made a huge difference and allowed instant relaxation! and Meryl's lemon drizzle and apricot jam were to die for! The gîte is in just the most beautiful location and couldn't be bettered, with it's 360 degree views, sunshine (well, weather permitting!) on all sides and glorious views of the countryside. The bird song while having breakfast or lunch was a delight. Highlights of the week include an amazing 4 course meal for €15 (make sure you are hungry!) and an afternoon's cycle along the canal at Moissac. We came quite early in the season so couldn't sample many of the restaurants but we are looking forward to the opportunity on our next visit! Thank you Richard and Meryl (and Poppy) for being so welcoming and such excellent hosts... and Richard for guidance on beautiful walks straight from the gîte.
We've been lucky enough to stay at Manoir de Fouilloux on two separate occasions and have loved our stay both times. The house has been decorated and equipped to an extremely high standard. The property is blessed with beautiful views and a number of perfectly maintained gardens, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine, either on the terrace or in the Moroccan courtyard and den or by the swimming pool. It is also within a short distance of picturesque towns and châteaux. If you fancy some wine tasting St Emilion is close by as are the vineyards of Bergerac or maybe a visit to a local food market in Riberac. We are certainly planning to stay again! Story book house in a story book setting... We very happily spent the month of August in this charming, comfortable and clean Provençal house. Although it's only minutes from marvellous food shopping and useful services (super market, cafés, restaurants, fitness center, bank, etc. ) it feels private and a world apart. The owner was unfailingly gracious and readily available by phone or email to her London location. As for the world famous village of Gordes and the whole Luberon area... it's one of our most favorite places on the planet.
We are just back from two magical weeks in this property set in a beautiful area with many Bastides to visit. The house is spacious with every required amenity hosted by the lovely owners Jean and Martin not forgetting the real star Tanner the dog. The grounds are enormous with a gorgeous pool, gazebo, huge parasols and sun-beds. The local village Lauzun is a short walk away for bread and there is a local Bar de Sport. Each Saturday night in the season the main street is closed off and tables set up for a gourmande evening... Very French! The owners will ensure that you have a good time but are in no way obtrusive. Don't miss the opportunity to try this property!
We had a wonderful time thank you - it was our second visit: the house is great and we love the location. Ali was particularly helpful with restaurant recommendations and places to go too.
We cannot say enough good things about Les Fumerates or its owners. Loved the property! Everything about the villa is well-appointed. The owners were exceptionally helpful and anxious to answer any of our questions, concerns, etc. They are both very dedicated to seeing that their guests enjoy their stay, have everything they need, etc. We will definitely be returning to the area and when we do, our first choice for rentals will be here! Thank you for a great start to our 2 weeks in France!
We loved our stay - we were in a mixed group and it worked really well as each couple had their own space and privacy, but there are wonderful spaces for entertaining as a large group. The pool area is stunning and the setting is calm, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed taking the bikes on trips to nearby villages too!
Beautiful views, a lovely relaxing villa. We have really enjoyed the stay here. Minerve was worth a visit (town and caves), and the children really enjoyed it. The activities at the Carcassonne lake near Carcassonne.
Thank you both so much for a magical 5-night stay. We have absolutely loved staying here and will miss it when we go home! The gîte is amazing, beautiful inside and out. We really appreciate all of your efforts for making our stay so comfortable. Such a lovely touch having fresh bread, eggs and veg from your garden waiting for us - perfect. We loved feeding the chickens and the horse! Thank you also for all the recommendations on what to see and where to go, Russell. We will definitely be back!
I don't often write reviews but if I could give 10 stars I would. La Charmante Distillerie is just amazing. Mark and Gary are the warmest, kindest, genuine people that go above and beyond to make your stay special. I’m very fussy about cleanliness and I can honestly say this house is truly the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in, the attention to detail is outstanding. Beds are the comfiest I’ve ever slept in and there is everything you could possibly need and more. The heated pool was beautiful, the outdoor Boules was fun for us adults and the children. Wi fi is superb. Plenty of comfy seating and eating areas all set in the most beautiful grounds and surrounding countryside and forest. We stayed up late each night to stargaze which was so worth it. A special thank you to Mark and Gary for being the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Château Charente is magnificent. The rooms are well proportioned with high ceilings so always feels cool. The is so much to explore in the grounds and great tuning trails. Great BBQ for outdoor al fresco dining. Huge table under a pergola for long leisurely lunches or dinners. The swimming pool is lovely and a great size for lengths with lots of loungers. Sharp, sharp knives. First time ever in a rental! Huge range cooker which is immaculate. Blenders, graters and simple to use bottle opener! The owners were fabulous! Our children are 9 and 12 and they loved playing the Wii in the playroom. Wish I had found the château when they were a baby and a toddler as tons of toys to occupy them with.10/10. 5 star throughout. Recommended.
We enjoyed a very happy week at the villa. The only problem was that the villa is so nice that most of our plans for getting out and about were abandoned! We loved the privacy of the garden and pool area.
A totally unique experience staying in a tower with a wonderful panorama view of the sea. You can spend hours sitting on the balcony, watching the tide go in and out and the ships coming into La Havre in the distance. At night when the tide is in, the sound of the sea is fantastic and almost feels like you are sleeping on the beach. The tower itself is nicely decorated, clean and kitted out with everything you might need for a holiday. The furniture and fittings are intelligently laid out to maximise the space at all levels so it doesn't feel cramped. Villerville itself was a charming, quiet seaside town with a few bistros and shops, perfect for escaping the usual hoards of tourists elsewhere on the Normandy coast. Definitely worthy of 4.5 star rating and only reasons for not getting 5 stars are lack of free parking on site (although plenty on the side streets behind the tower) and some evenings when the tide is out you get the occasional teenagers listening to music on the sea front until late at night.
Villa Funel was in a lovely position being very private with glimpses of surrounds. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well furnished with everything you could need and more (much better than some previous villas we have rented!). The pool was a good size, gorgeous, nice to swim after sightseeing. I would thoroughly recommend this villa to either a couple or a family.
A lovely town house in a quiet village, with the added bonus of a pool. We enjoyed dining on the terrace in the evening watching the sun set.

Charming house in the most picturesque hill top village that has been lovingly restored with air con and a pool to help you cool off in the heat. The surrounding area has lots to offer and you can find great food either in the village or in Uzes not too far away.

Echoing all previous comments. It was a pleasure to stay here and on behalf of the two English-born cricket enthusiasts, we enjoyed the cricket net, as well as all the other sports. You are obviously a man with fine tastes!

We had a fabulous holiday, thank you ! What a lovely location; very peaceful but within easy access of a variety of places to visit - Nice, Saint Paul de Vence, Vence, Grasse and everything to offer along the French Riviera. The house is large and comfortable with space for families or groups of friends to spread out. There is ample outside space to enjoy - around the pool, behind the house to have shade and beside the kitchen for a morning cup of coffee. The view from the pool is stunning allowing one to see a huge distance along the coast - that will live long in our memory!
