Exquisitely renovated French manor house. This house was exquisitely restored with close attention to period detail. It is perfectly curated and integrated with antique fixtures and objects d'art as well all the modern comforts you could want. The kitchen is one of the most well equipped I have ever stayed in so the owners must be cooks. There are lovely spots to sit throughout the gardens with comfortable furnishings. The house itself is perfect for large families or a selection of couples. The location is ideal for touring Chagny, Beaune and the rest of Burgundy. Sigrid was incredibly responsive, helpful, flexible and kind. I can not recommend the home and Sigrid highly enough. We had a completely charming and comfortable stay. Thank you again for sharing your lovely home.
We had a fabulous holiday, thank you ! What a lovely location; very peaceful but within easy access of a variety of places to visit - Nice, Saint Paul de Vence, Vence, Grasse and everything to offer along the French Riviera. The house is large and comfortable with space for families or groups of friends to spread out. There is ample outside space to enjoy - around the pool, behind the house to have shade and beside the kitchen for a morning cup of coffee. The view from the pool is stunning allowing one to see a huge distance along the coast - that will live long in our memory!
As a group of 7 from age 2 to 62 and having had similar holidays in recent years this has been the best. Wonderfully well equipped with thoughtful advice everywhere. Everybody loved the pool and there are plenty to things to see and do in the area, thanks again.

Lézigno affords an extraordinary slice of regal French splendor - a small palace rather than a château - beautiful gardens and pool. Peaceful and elegant. The staff, Thierry and Nadine were kind and helpful.
Everything was perfect! Monpazier Cottages matched the photos and description. Everything was in perfect condition and very clean, from bedrooms to bathrooms to the outside with the pool. A weekend with friends that could only be a success! Nature, the calm and a charming authentic house, whose owners are very attentive. We really recommend this experience, for a nice break in the Dordogne!
One of the best family holidays we have had, spacious King sized beds. A truly amazing space with all the creature comforts of a high end home.

Having rented holiday homes in France for many years I am sure that the welcome from Philippe was the warmest we have ever had. His kindness and generosity in providing a wonderful welcome pack comprising cheeses, bread, fruit, wine and a tart made our arrival very pleasant. The house is beautifully appointed and every need seemed to have been considered. The layout of the three buildings is particularly suited to large families with two large ensuite bedrooms in one block, a compact double in the pool house and a magnificent master suite in the main house. The facilities are exceptional, with a comprehensively equipped kitchen, air conditioning in the key areas, a great variety of outdoor seating (very comfortable) in sun and shade, a fantastic outdoor kitchen with barbecue and a superb swimming pool, all set in beautiful gardens. Philippe kindly brought croissants or pastries on the (very early) mornings he would silently clean the pool and another large selection of local goodies when changing the sheets after a week. The location is quiet and peaceful yet there are lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive. Béziers and the villages along the Canal du Midi provide lots to do and the coast is only 20 minutes away. This is an exceptional property which feels like a home rather than a rental and you could not fail to enjoy a holiday here.
We had a great time at Fontalbe with our 3 generations of family. The house and the gardens are stunning.
We had a lovely relaxing, creative few days, swimming, cooking, painting… I cannot image being anywhere else ! La vie en rose…
We are a family of two adults and three teens and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Le Somail! The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and there was plenty of space inside and out. The pool area is very sheltered and private - having the pool to cool us down on the hottest of days was certainly appreciated! We enjoyed being so close to the canal and seeing the boats sailing past, it’s a beautiful location. There is a good selection of places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk of the house, yet the house was very peaceful and we were never disturbed by any noise from the restaurant next door. There were plenty of activities within an easy driving distance to keep us all amused for the duration of our stay including lakes, beaches and shopping. We hope we can return again, thank you for a wonderful holiday.
We are three couples in our 60's from Colorado in the U.S. who enjoy travel, especially in Europe. Over the past three years we have traveled to Italy, Portugal, Spain and France. We would define ourselves as independent travelers enjoying the process of researching destinations, places to stay, renting cars and getting out to see a bigger world. That of course means getting lost from time to time, finding restaurants that are fabulous and some that are so-so and booking houses or B&Bs. My top five reasons for loving Maison Charvin include: 5. If after traveling to many parts of the world you find that smaller can be better as I have, Maison Charvin (MC) is a great fit. Located in the village of Montlaur where there is a small grocery store and a couple other small shops, people are friendly and you feel safe. It isn't too far from a number of good destinations. 4. Four bedrooms, all ensuite. Since we are no longer in our 20's we prefer some comforts and conveniences! Beds were comfortable and each couple had their own quiet space. We prefer renting one extra bedroom so, as happened on this trip, if one person gets sick or has jet lag and waking up at 4:00 am there is an extra room. 3. Fully stocked kitchen. I would start looking for some odd item like a garlic press and think I doubt there is one and lo and behold there always was what we needed! I've never stayed at a place that had a kitchen as well equipped. 2. Value - incredible value for a week's stay. We stayed during the lower season rate, but looking at the rates, it would be good value at anytime of the year. 1. The owner, Sharon. From the very start of communications she was helpful and timely in her email responses to my inquiries. And always with a great sense of humor. Earlier I mentioned we had some illness. Sharon took my wife and I to her doctor, waited with us, translated for us and went to the pharmacy to be sure we received the correct medications. It was easy to see that she wants her clients to have the best experience possible. If South Western France small towns are in your future, be sure to check out Maison Charvin!
What an amazing holiday! Le Pigat was beautiful and very well equipped with extra little touches. This all made our visit special. The bread delivery was an absolute delight. Many special memories made by the pool and we found the cave! Also visits to Bergerac, Périgueux, Monbazillac, Mouleydier, Issigeac, Sarlat-la-Canéda, Domme, Château de Bridoire, Saint-Émilion and Brantôme. Not forgetting Eymet and Trémolat. All beautiful places and worth a visit. Many special restaurants too. Some rustic, some very gourmet. We will miss being here in the warmth, by the pool and in wonderful surroundings. Many thanks.
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house, beside the river. Everything really comfortable and close to lots of things to do. We had a lovely day in Bordeaux visiting the fantastic cathedral and the great shops. Sadly, we are going home tomorrow but will remember our visit fondly.
A great time was had by all. We loved this little piece of paradise in Provence! Magnifique! Hope we'll be back again sometime.

We’ve just come back from a wonderful stay at Manoir Coutenson. The spacious and well maintained accommodation met the needs of our party of 15 perfectly, ranging from ages 1 to 85. The accommodation was even nicer than shown in the photos, as the sitting room had been refurbished. We particularly loved the on site activities (table tennis, pétanque, pool etc) and the sitting area by the pool! There were many thoughtful touches, including toys for younger children, board games and a well stocked kitchen. The site managers were on hand to help with any queries and advise on places to visit. The Manoir is well located close to Casteljaloux for supermarket, shops, market etc and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. We’d certainly love to stay here again!
We have stayed in many wonderful houses in different parts of the world. Malardier is without doubt the most wonderful. Everything beautiful or useful (William Morris) mostly both. Having restored many houses ourselves we appreciate the enormous work involved. One forgets too easily the half built walls. What makes this house more special than most others is that it is a home. Every object has character and must carry a story. We were amazed at the gardens, how plants bloom in such a warm climate. We will no doubt remember different things, but all have lovely memories.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Such an honor to spend time in such a special part of the world, a little piece of heaven surrounded by vineyards, sunflowers and lavender. We drank wonderful wine and ate far too much cheese. Thank you Frédéric for taking care of us and bringing us some fans to appease the heat. We look forward to visiting again one day soon.
We had a very good holiday at Maison La Gouronne. The house was lovely, clean and spacious and we appreciated the good quality beds and towels. There was loads of outdoor space, with cooking facilities and with areas in the shade. Great large pool which we used every day, surrounded by a large terrace with good sun loungers, seats and movable umbrellas and an outdoor shower. Maison La Gouronne is in a great quiet location surrounded by grape vines, but it was nice to be within walking distance of a Carrefour supermarket. We enjoyed Sauvian and the adjacent Serignan with the river. We enjoyed exploring their old areas and we found plenty of places to eat out. Plage de Valras was the children’s favorite local beach. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.
Thank you for sharing your lovely house and garden at Maison Charvin. We spent our time climbing to Médiéval castles, cycling along the Canal du Midi and white-water rafting in the Aude River ! Every day we started by wandering around the lovely village before venturing out on an adventure. If you have children, there is a really good football pitch down by the rugby club. We also really enjoyed 'Abyss on tour' on our fist night here. A wonderful holiday!
We had a wonderful week at this gorgeous property. The hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. The house is amazing - beautiful blend of old and modern. Impressive double height ceilings and doors. Very spacious and well appointed. The kids had a great time swimming in the pool. The gardens are lovely - we liked the hammock and swing. We also made use of the table tennis table. The house and grounds are very private and secluded. We had a beautiful view over surrounding sunflower fields. We would thoroughly recommend this property to families.

What an incredible week away in a wonderful house! We enjoyed a trip to Jonzac and St Georges de Didonne but mainly stayed at the house with everything it has to offer. Games room for family rounds of table tennis, the pool temperature was fabulous and the house itself very spacious and comfortable.Thank you for the Welcome hamper all the great comms ahead of our stay and for letting us enjoy this haven!
Excellent stay in Kim's accommodation. The view is splendid from the terrace as well as the swimming pool. Many thanks again for reserving the evening at La Maison Tolzac for us.
The most perfect villa for a big family or group of friends. Very cosy and welcoming atmosphere inside with plenty of room for everyone. Lovely, comfortable and personal sleeping rooms. The kitchen had lots of equipment for having the best dinners at home by the beautiful dinner table in the garden. A wonderful garden for both little children, teenagers and adults with a big pool and comfortable beds for relaxing. Five minutes walk to buy freshly baked croissants at the boulangerie in the village in the morning and ten minutes drive to lovely Pézenas, some of us even walked there and enjoyed all lovely antique stores and the famous saturday market. We all loved the house, garden, pool and the village and surroundings of Montagnac and find it perfect to be 30 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean. We also had some nice winetasting and went to Bouzigues to have lovely seafood lunches and dinners. We would definitely come back again and warmly can recommend Villa Cabanis as a great holiday home! / Ulrika with family from Sweden
