This beautiful villa in the middle of the vineyards had every comfort imaginable. The heated pool was a dream. We would also like to mention the exceptional cleanliness. The hosts do everything to ensure that you feel comfortable and can enjoy a pleasant holiday.
Where to begin? Booked this wonderful house 10 months ago. Often looked at the pictures and thought can anywhere be so perfect... it can! The sheer joy of walking from room to room, spending entire days outside by and in the pool. Simple living in a sumptuous house which just keeps giving with it's character, beautiful art and furniture. Was this as perfect as I imagined? Absolutely. Would I come back? Without a doubt. There is something quite magical about Château Lignol, it envelops you and each day you relax a little more as you open the shutters onto green space and fields. You really are in your own little private heaven. It's a 14th Century hunting lodge with all the quirkiness of an older building that you just don't get with new properties. We were a party of 8 with 4 young children and enjoyed being able to unwind in the old chateau and the grounds. The children loved the lawned area for playing games and taking off their next superhero adventure. We were sorry to leave the property and look back on it with fond memories.

A more tranquil spot in France you will not find. The house has 360-degree views across stunning French countryside that rolls and undulates towards a backdrop of the Pyrenees. It feels like you're a million miles from the stresses and strains of modern life, another world and yet within 20 minutes drive you can be in a huge supermarket that will cater for all your needs. The house itself is incredibly comfortable, with all mod cons. It sleeps 14 people in great comfort, including in two well-appointed cottages in the grounds. And yet it retains its cosy feel. Some days we lazed by the pool and ate our meals on one of the terraces, other days – when it was cooler - we lit the fire and settled in. It's genuinely as comfy inside as it is outside, which is not always the case in French holiday lets. Our young children were in heaven. When not swimming or playing tennis, they roamed the five acres of immaculately kept grounds, building camps, rowing on the small lake. There's snooker croquet and table tennis too, if it's wet. And then of course there is the party room. Set well away from the grown-up bedrooms, the party room has a bar, DJ–quality speaker system and a proper disco – glitter ball, lights and all. Incredible fun. You really won't want to leave the château and grounds at all – it's a self-contained little hill-top world - but if you do have itchy feet then there are lots of walks nearby, or you can visit one of the many beautiful French towns nearby (Mirepoix market is a must). I cannot wait to return.

We have spent many happy holidays in France, but as this year is our 40th wedding anniversary we thought we should look for somewhere really special - and we found it! The house is a delight and the garden is the most beautiful place to rest and relax. The countryside around is very peaceful and charming and we greatly enjoyed the nearby towns and villages. The abbey at Fontevraud was a special highlight and the châteaux at Saumur, Chinon and Angers, which we last visited more than 30 years ago, were all well worth visiting again - so much restoration work has been done in the intervening years. We also liked the Corniche Angevine which runs along the South bank of the Loire between Rochefort and Challones and the many wine growing areas. Many thanks for your warm welcome and kind hospitality.
Well, what can we say other than we have had a ball and our 'musicals' night with you both will enter the folklore of the families. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality, friendship and laughs - what a holiday! We've loved every minute of our holiday. The Loft is superb in every aspect. As hosts we could not have hoped for a more welcoming, friendly and helpful couple - you are amongst the chosen! Thank you so much for helping us have such an amazing holiday.
Stylish, well-equipped 'home from home' house in a great location. Narbonne is a delightful town with many good facilities. The pool and outside is a real bonus. We had a very good stay.

Had a lovely time at Manoir Altheas. Oliver's Travels provided excellent directions and information about the house and location. The property manager, Beatrice, is wonderful. I was able to obtain a friendly and reliable taxi driver who took me wherever I wanted to go. The local restaurant (the only one in this tiny hamlet!) serves good traditional food. Do be aware that the steps to the upstairs and main part of the house are steep and winding. Better to travel lightly!
The house had everything we needed, we will hopefully be able to visit again. We had a fantastic weeks stay and while we did some visiting (Mount Ventoux was a highlight), we just appreciated being able to use the swimming pool, table tennis and pool table rooms, some of our skills definitely improved during our holiday. We also loved being able to eat outside and admire the fantastic views.
Where can we begin to tell you how wonderful your warmth and kindness have made our holiday so special at your beautiful Le Chambarru. Your renovations and thoughtful kitchen cooking utensils have such taste and quality that we all enjoyed cooking. The location has proven geographical delight. We had a wonderful week at Manoir Coutenson. The spacious house is very well equipped. The swimming pool is incredibly warm and the children (even the baby) spent hours in it. The shaded area by the pool was essential as the weather was really hot. We loved the area. It is fairly rural but with easy access to the town. The house is very child friendly with toys, high chairs and plastic bowls and plates and lots of pool accessories. All of which were appreciated by our 5 grandchildren. A fabulous, relaxing holiday. Exceptional. Château de la Ronde and its grounds have been beautifully renovated and maintained. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and every aspect has been considered to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The views across to Saumur Castle from the château were stunning.

The place is amazing, it's perfect for sharing special moments with friends and family.There were 9 of us meeting for the weekend in the beautiful cottage restored by Christophe's hands. Everything was perfect, from communication before the stay, Christophe's welcome and his legendary conviviality! The cottage is very well equipped, the decoration is also very beautiful and the place allows you to party well. Magnificent house in the middle of the fields, tastefully decorated. Fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Nothing is missing. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the deckchairs as well as the surroundings (medieval city of Chauvigny, Futuroscope).

We had a lovely stay at Claire’s beautiful place. It was very comfortable and you can see that someone has taken great care in decorating the place and choosing the best things. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful holiday in this beautiful and stylish home! The house has been refurbished to a very high specification and the bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are luxuriously contemporary. The kitchen is impressively well equipped. There is so much to do in the area which is steeped in history and blessed with natural beauty. The Roman ruins at Vaison are a must- see. We were amazed to find the largest archaeological site in France just down the road and the medieval town, on the other side of the river, with its winding streets, is charming. We found it hard to tear ourselves away from the stunning views and the peace and tranquility of the gardens and pool but outings to the hilltop villages of Seguret and Venasque and a wine tasting in Gigondas or Châteauneuf du Pape are experiences not to be missed!
We had a very good week at Le Manoir de la Compagnie. The property is very quiet, in a beautiful site (large garden, beautiful trees...). It is very well equipped: top bedding, sheets/towels/tea towels provided as well as shower gel and shampoo, large and well equipped kitchen, everything is well calibrated for a group of 12 adults. The rooms are large and well decorated. The owners are charming, available without being intrusive and have a family history that is interesting to discover. In short, I completely recommend this rental
