This is certainly the most tranquil villa I have ever stayed in. The pool and garden are quite lovely. Very hard to pull ourselves away. The area is wonderful. Finally I understand why so many people relocate to the Languedoc-Roussillon.

Wonderful stay, 5 children and 8 adults all found happiness. Bedroom, bathroom, very spacious living room as well as a pool terrace perfectly arranged for everyone and the little extra of an outdoor kitchen with barbeque. The proximity is very quiet, in the countryside but at a very correct distance to do activities. We thank the host for making this villa available for our holidays. We recommend without hesitation. We had the most lovely week at La Chartreuse de Montfort for a week in the middle of September. The weather was gorgeous and sunny during the day but slightly autumnal in the morning and evening, so we ate breakfast outside but dinner inside around the lovely dining table with a fire in the amazing wood burner to give that cosy feeling to the sitting room. As a group of 10 friends, the house was lovely and spacious with plenty of room for everyone to eat, sit inside or out or enjoy some quiet time in the little study as they wished. The views from the terrace are extraordinary! Ever changing - amazing sunrises with the mist hanging in the valley and then the meandering Dordogne river below. The pool was lovely, warm and easy to access but rather nice that it was situated on the lower terrace so you could have a peaceful swim. The house itself it completely private yet only 10 minutes away from the supermarket and the lovely medieval town of Sarlat. So much to do in the area that you are spoilt for choice - castles, walking, cycling, canoeing, gardens, caves and ancient dwellings, markets - and plenty of excellent places to eat - highly recommend Ô Moulin in Carsac for an extraordinary culinary experience. To be honest, though, the house is so well equipped and comfortable, eating dinner ‘chez-nous’ was our preferred option, washed down with excellent local Bergerac wines! Was the holiday long enough? Certainly not! Would we go again? Absolutely, can’t wait!
We loved the views, peace and quiet and the house and garden, all of it! The house is well equipped and very clean. The pool was a real treat and was kept clean throughout our stay. We look forward to returning again.

We really had an enjoyable holiday. The house was perfect for our needs and the garden was just a joy. In fact the actual is better than the pictures on the website. It was a perfect stay for us as we were looking for a quiet time with privacy. The location itself was perfect as it was close by the liveliness of the Mediterranean coast.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Fitou, staying in this lovely and comfortable villa. I agree with other reviewers, the pictures do not do the property justice. It is spacious with a very high finish throughout maintaining a very homely feel. Our party consisted of 2 families with 4 kids (6, 6, 2 and 2), they loved it. As for the area, well it's a really special region of France. The location is perfect for day trips to the regions finest attractions (Carcassonne, Collioure, Gruissan etc...) and equally relaxing staying local. Fitou and nearby Leucate Village are charming and the local beaches are lovely, unspoilt and crowd free. There is as much or as little to do here as you'd like. We will certainly be coming back to the area and hopefully to this villa again.

We have had a fantastic stay in Rieux-Minervois thanks to your kind and generous hospitality! The Loft is beautiful and filled with everything we needed to have a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The kitchen felt modern and easy to cook in; the beds were extremely comfortable and the pool and garden were splendidly kept. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful property. It was so comfortable and relaxing, with enough space for peace whenever we needed it.
The most marvellous time Thank you so very much for letting us rent out your stunning house! We had the most marvellous time. Your furniture was so comfortable and I loved all of your paintings too - have made a few notes of some of the artists for my gallery here in Dublin! The kitchen too was so well equipped and it was great to have multiple indoor and outdoor areas for children and adults alike so that everyone had enough space and peace and quiet. Thanks too for the excellent local recommendations. You're so lucky to have lovely Patrick and Hotel de Commerce on your doorstep - many a fine lunch we had there, as well as excellent meals at La Baside in Barbotan les Thermes and simple pizza in the stunning square in La Bastide d'Armagnac.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Maison Celte, the villa has amazing views to the South, and a lovely pool and all the amenities one could wish for. The village of Tourtour is within 15minutes walk and is absolutely beautiful with a pretty square with small shops, bars and restaurants. We would highly recommend Maison Celte.
We thought that the Loft was lovely. We've had a great two weeks in beautiful accommodation. We've enjoyed exploring the region but have left plenty to do to give us a reason to come back. I know the girls will miss Mack and Mabel - we'll keep you posted if we succumb to their requests to get one of our own! Thank you both for your company and warm hospitality.
We have had the most amazing week at Malardier. We have visited lots of lovely towns and villages. We have had so much fun by the pool and have made lots of happy memories. We can't wait to return.

Another wonderful week in beautiful surroundings with lovely hosts. Very hot weather but the pool was great and the fans in the bedrooms kept us cool at night. The bird count was up to its usual standards, we spotted 21 species we specially love the hoopoes. Very interesting planting and inspirational for our garden at home ! We will be back !

Wow what a place – a hidden gem and an unforgettable stay. Nothing was too much for Philippe who went above and beyond! The villa was exceptional, clean and had everything you need for a perfect holiday! The French pastries and cake are incredible! We will definitely come back.
Narbonne is a classic, small French city. The villa is a perfect match and then some - more spacious than the pictures suggest and terrific spaces both outdoor and in. Well be back for more visits and more wine!

We have had a fabulous week staying. The house is stunning and has provided us the perfect base to investigate the local area. We have all enjoyed the pool. Canoeing on the Dordogne was a fun family activity. We had a delicious meal at Palma Nova afterwards. We were lucky enough to be staying here when it was the annual brocante, fun to wander around. We also enjoyed food and music last night in the town hall square. A lovely end to our stay. Thank you Philip for your hospitality. À bientôt!
Once again there are no words that can really explain what a wonderful time we have had and how fantastic the Loft and the grounds are. Your hospitality is more than we could have asked for. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay here permanently as it’s difficult to leave the place! Until the next time ( and yes, there will be a next time ), au revoir - not goodbye.
