An amazing week of relaxation. Spent a fantastic week at Château Velouse. Located in a tiny village the château is just a short drive from lots of interesting locations in the Loire valley. Château Velouse has everything you need for a relaxing week - beautiful bedrooms, lovely outdoor pool, barbeque and al fresco dining area and lovely dining room and lounge. We chose to self-catering but there are options to hire in a chef to prepare meals for your group. There was also lots of information in the château guide about other tailored services that were available such as wine tours. Claire and Phil made sure that everything was perfect for our stay and recommended places to visit.

The home you have both created is warm, inviting and absolutely stunning. The attention to detail, the decor, the furnishings and the comforts have left us wanting for nothing and inspired. The three of us have loved meeting and feeding "the ladies", Connie and Peggy, and Boo (Bertie) was especially impressed with the digger. "Nice touch"... he thought. Three generations of our family enjoyed our stay in Helen's lovely, spacious, well equipped house with its beautiful garden, pool, boules court, summer kitchen and vue du château! Plenty of space, outside and in, as the heat allowed. The cooler basement provided table tennis, gym equipment and jigsaws, all completed during the extreme heat! Location was great for canyoning (Héric), kyaking (Orb), river swimming (Reals), karting (nr. Laurens), scuba diving (Montpellier), painting classes (Pouzolles) etc. Great local restaurants and bars (Roujan, Gabian) and small domaine wines to discover. The large Super U in Roujan has an excellent adjoining boulangerie/patisserie, open Sunday mornings too. Nothing lacking for a brilliant holiday!
We’ve just come back from a wonderful stay at Manoir Coutenson. The spacious and well maintained accommodation met the needs of our party of 15 perfectly, ranging from ages 1 to 85. The accommodation was even nicer than shown in the photos, as the sitting room had been refurbished. We particularly loved the on site activities (table tennis, pétanque, pool etc) and the sitting area by the pool! There were many thoughtful touches, including toys for younger children, board games and a well stocked kitchen. The site managers were on hand to help with any queries and advise on places to visit. The Manoir is well located close to Casteljaloux for supermarket, shops, market etc and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. We’d certainly love to stay here again!

We had an excellent stay in this beautiful house, charming and perfectly equipped. The swimming pool is very pleasant, the rooms to live and the rooms offer a very comfortable atmosphere. We were won over.
My wife and I have been visiting France for over 20 years and The Loft is the best property we have stayed at. The photographs on the website do not do it justice. Russell and Karen have fitted out The Loft with wonderful taste and all of the bathrooms are top quality including the selection of toiletries left for their guests to use. Their attention to detail is second to none. We received an extensive welcome pack when we arrived at the house and Karen even delivered fresh pastries for breakfast on the Sunday morning from the local Boulangerie. Outside the house there is a beautiful pool and garden but the jewel in the crown is the large sheltered "porch area". This is a half open and half covered space off the front of The Loft where you can choose sun or shade during the day. The BBQ is there along with a big dining table and also sofas for relaxing. It’s a fab place to eat and drink during the day or on an evening with a lovely view of the extensive gardens. Rieux Minervois is a nice little town situated in the middle of the Minervois wine region It has a good Italian restaurant within 2 minutes walk from the house, which Karen kindly booked it for us for the night we arrived. The food was very good. The town is also well placed to visit Carcassonne, Narbonne and several of the coastal towns; we particularly enjoyed Gruissan. It is also surrounded by many other small villages with excellent restaurants if you want enjoy a lazy lunch during your holiday. Karen will even book them for you if you ask. Overall we spent a lovely week in The Languedoc. Thank you Russell and Karen for your hospitality and for going to such lengths to make our holiday so memorable.
Stunning villa with great managers. They pay great attention to detail and took care of every issue. Villa had lots of extras from record player to wine fridge, inflatables for the pool, road access to pool so we could easily get groceries to top kitchen. Loved it!

We stayed in this amazing house for a couple of weeks - 4 couples, with kids left home! The place is really hard to describe because it is so much more than we expected. Also the photos don't quite do it justice (especially the outdoors pics). It is a huge house, with several levels. All the bedrooms bar one are on one upper floor. The other bedroom (that we stayed in) is accessible on the side of the building and has a lovely little terrace with a small table and chairs. Perfect for taking in the sun or simply relaxing. I did do a bit of work there. On the lower level is the huge kitchen, big dining area with a really cool table that makes entertaining fun and loads of interesting living areas each individual and stylishly decorated. All in all it is a big place where it is easy to spend time with friends and be sociable, or retreat to one of the cosy, quirky but fantastic living spaces for me-time. We weren't quite sure what we would do there for 2 weeks as it seemed a little remote, but it is SO relaxing and welcoming we spent the first week just staying put and enjoying it. The swimming pool is great and I did my lengths every morning. The area just beyond the pool is great in the evening for a drink (or many more). The bedrooms are really special. Big and very well appointed. Comfortable beds and interesting bathrooms (ours had a built-in bath). The owner Fred is super friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed by him and his partner and to our surprise the fridge was filled with local produce and there was also some wine and fresh bread left for us! Great surprise and even better after the long drive down! For shopping we went to the closest town and there were 2 large supermarkets there as well as the usual bakeries/butchers etc. The area is very beautiful. The mountains are stunning and we found some really lovely villages to explore. We had a great dinner one night in Sauve. Really cute village well worth exploring. We ate on a square high up overlooking the river below. I could go on and on. The place has so much charm and is so well appointed, we could have stayed for longer. We have amazing memories and special thanks to Fred for having created this small piece of paradise.
We were here two years ago and fell in love with this place. So much space and so peaceful. Thank you for sharing this house / home with us. It is stunning. I hope we can return.
Our stay was completely amazing. The views around the house are breathtaking and the house itself was a delight. We enjoyed many swims, BBQs, games and film nights. Thank you so much for hosting us all, we are all hoping we’ll return some day soon!!
We have had the most amazing week at Malardier. We have visited lots of lovely towns and villages. We have had so much fun by the pool and have made lots of happy memories. We can't wait to return.

Thank you both for the most wonderful stay at your beautiful villa. We’ve had the most incredible week exploring the South of France – an area we love – and discovering new places. This spot is extremely special and we’ve relished the relaxing days and evenings spent here (made even more special by the sighting of a wild boar with babies and your marvellous set up for the gorgeous cats) – thank you for showing us this! The secluded spot, surrounded by woodland, an aromatic and fragrant garden attracting many butterflies, a beautiful pool and terrace area is somewhere we won’t forget and would love to come back to. Everything has been thought of at this place which makes it so homely. Everything from kitchen utensils and supplies to the BBQ, bowls and the TV set-up – the place has it all. You have both been such friendly and discrete hosts, allowing us such privacy and the personality you have stamped on the place (from plants, to artwork and sculptures as well as the lovely cats) makes this space so full of character too. Thanks again and we wish you both the best – hopefully we’ll return in the future!
Everybody in the group is very happy over the stay. We have enjoyed the pool and the shade on the huge terrace, especially these hot days. We very much agree that you have a fantastic home. We would love to come back another year.
This was our first ever holiday rental and it has set the bar very high indeed. From the moment we arrived to a warm and friendly welcome by our hosts (Katerina and Stephen) to the time we departed with the same warmth and friendliness still on display we could not have wanted a better start to our extended holiday. The cottage is very well appointed and is a perfect size for a couple. It had all the facilities one would hope to find to make our two weeks very much a 'home from home' sensation and provided space for the two of us to move around comfortably. The pool is also excellent and reflects the great care our hosts took in ensuring everything was perfectly presented. The location - in the Vezere valley - is ideal for visiting the numerous attractions of the area. Pre historic caves, stalagmite and stalactite caves, fortified houses, gorgeous châteaux and so many utterly charming villages. We even ventured into a canoe for a 12km cruise down the Vezere which allowed us to see the valley from a different perspective. Although we love visiting different places there is a high probability of us coming back again!

What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. A wonderful location with stunning views and beautiful sunsets, Mas Saint Cernin was the perfect venue for a relaxing family holiday. The Grange itself was great in every aspect: from the space, cleanliness and tastefully decorated rooms, through to the general facilities and the exceptional warm hospitality from owners John and Lesley. The large and well appointed swimming pool where the five children in our group spent many hours splashing as children should on their summer holidays was used by us every day. There were pool toys plus plenty of sun loungers for all the group to relax on and soak up the rays within the secluded private garden. Mas Saint Cernin was a home-from-home in a beautiful part of France and we could quite happily have taken up residence; it was with regret that we had to wave farewell at the end of two glorious weeks.
After driving through France, it was lovely to arrive at your beautiful house. The weather has been perfect and we have chilled by the swimming pool. We have visited many of the surrounding villages and gazed at the breathtaking views from the top of the mountains. We really don't want to begin our journey back and will certainly recommend to others. Thank you.
We wholeheartedly recommend. We have had a fantastic week at Villa Saumane! What a great place, lovely house with heated swimming pool and spacious enclosed garden. The house is very well and attractively furnished, the kitchen really lacked nothing for our party of 10 people. The welcome from the housekeeper was heart-warming. Although we would prefer to keep this hidden gem a secret, we can wholeheartedly recommend the villa to other guests. A place to come back to again!
We had great week staying at this lovely house! It is in quiet, rural location and we enjoyed exploring the area, which is very pretty. Sam was a great host and showed us everything and then left us to it – but was very helpful responsive with any questions we had. There were 7 of us and the house accommodated us all very easily. It is very well equipped and everything is in good condition and works well - lots of plates, glasses, large fridge freezer with ice maker, wine and beer fridges etc! The beds were comfortable and the house has two good bathrooms/shower rooms including a spa bath! There is a great choice of terraces and outside areas (covered and open) for sitting and dining, with lots of chairs, tables and sun loungers – which far exceeded expectations. The pool, surrounding terrace and gardens are really lovely and it is very quiet and private. The table tennis table was a bonus and we had a fun afternoon kayaking on the Dordogne, too! We would have loved a few more days there!
Wonderful house, with impeccable physical structure and decoration and to top it off, a breathtaking view of Lake Annecy. The hosts are extremely friendly, helpful and gave great tips on activities in the area. Without a doubt, one of the most memorable family vacations!!!
Domaine du Château is the most beautiful and well equipped house ever. Better in the flesh than the photographs suggest. We stayed as a group of 11 extended family members and a couple of babies. Largely because of babies and children, we wanted a place with a pool where kids could be when adults were doing other things. Domaine du Château was perfect for this. The owners, have a history of taking groups to rental houses around Europe. They took notes and used them in renovating this property, resulting in attention to detail that makes everything work for a large group. I cannot think of a single thing that was lacking in making the house work for us. There is an exceedingly well equipped cook's kitchen. Every bedroom was beautiful with en suite bathrooms. They have cribs and the ability to turn the bedrooms (or at least some of them) from queen beds to twins. The bedrooms are arranged in pairs with good separation from other pairs of bedrooms. All are well away from public rooms where there might be noise. There are even two pairs of washers and dryers, so no queue for doing laundry. There are multiple outdoor terrace areas and a stunning view from the salon terrace over the pool to the hillside village beyond. The house is about 40 minutes from Beaune in a beautiful rural area. It is a great cycling area. The Voie Verte that runs from Santenay to Nolay might be the most scenic ride in Burgjndy. Once you get on it, you are completely separate from cars and riding on the level through stunning vineyards all the way. The house is also close to the Canal du Centre which is another great biking opportunity along the old towpath. Beware that the house is uphill from both, so the return may be a bit challenging for some riders. We rented bicycles from Bourgogne Randonées in Beaune. They were delivered to the house and were in mint condition. Must not forget Stephen and Lilly, the house managers. They live in a separate area of the property. They are a delightful couple with an enviable history of adventurous living. They were completely unobtrusive, but there to meet any need we might have, including doing the shopping for us one day. On the subject of shopping, do not miss the Sunday morning market in Chagny. There are dozens of vendors with beautiful local produce, cheese and meat, as good as can be found anywhere.
Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful house - we have all enjoyed the beautiful home and gardens and all the attention to detail. We very much enjoyed the night market in Laparade although not really a market but more a fiesta! Very much recommend. A fantastic stay and wonderful house!
