We spent a night in this pretty villa lost at the bottom of the woods and vineyards during a wedding evening nearby (Franco's estate, also a superb place). We were quiet (and for good reason, no neighbours around). The villa is very well equipped. The bedding is excellent. Wonderful.
I have stayed here with friends on several occasions and the tranquility and serenity is something to treasure. Maison Bourriette and gardens are furnished to the highest standard with a special courtyard enclosed in the original barn walls. The pool and surroundings cater for the most ardent sunbather or swimmer. The welcome you receive is personal and nothing is too much trouble, thus ensuring your best possible stay. From the house you are near to many interesting attractions dotted around the rolling countryside but if you don't want to leave the sanctuary of the house, then there are numerous delightful walks on the doorstep taking you through woods to small settlements or even into Montaigu for quality food and drink. I cannot wait to go back again!
We have had a fantastic stay in this fabulous property and wanted to say how much we loved The Loft! It was everything we had expected and more; it is fantastically equipped and we wanted for nothing. Karen and Russell are excellent hosts and we hope to stay here again in the future. Wonderful House - fantastically equipped! We really appreciated the fans in the hot weather! The games room was superb - hardly saw the kids all week! Your recommendations in the purple pages were great. A very tasty trip to Royan for some seafood. Sitting on the terrace, looking over the views was beautiful.
Can't believe we have to leave our new home in Najac. The château is magnificent—striking and enormous, yet cozy and welcoming; an easy walk to the lovely village, yet splendidly private and quiet on its own hill. Amazing views, spotlessly clean, superbly equipped and with the best pool we've ever had! The only thing that matches the château and setting is the warm, attentive and super-knowledgeable welcome and help from Henrietta and her team. They helped us to make the most of our stay. Those extra-mile touches made all the difference and we really appreciated them. We loved getting to know this part of France, which seems to combine so many of the wonderful things from the more 'discovered' regions, adding a twist or 2, delivered with a smile.
What a stunning place... couldn't fault. Peaceful yet close to village and 10 minute drive for supermarkets. Pool area is just perfect.. plenty of shade if you need it... or lay out in the summer sun. Everything and more that you need for a fantastic holiday.
Magnificent old sheepfold, spacious, bright, and comfortable. The views are incredible with its large heated pool and park. Everything is within driving distance: supermarkets, typical villages, restaurants, and multiple excursions. And finally, the owners are attentive and absolutely charming!
For the last 10 years, a whole group of friends and now growing amount of children have been going on holidays. We found Mas de la Rivière by chance by doing a search for 'a big house to rent in France'. Well the house is huge! We were so pleased and extremely surprised to see how much space they were when we arrived. The owners were away but we were greeted buy lovely girl where everything was and how everything worked. The house is child friendly with a huge swimming pool (with a slide). A huge trampoline, climbing frame / slide / swings and table tennis. There is enough bikes for all the kids to ride around the gardens and woods around the property are vast. We were told to help ourselves to their fruit and vegetables. The kitchen was really well equipped with lots of child friendly stuff like cups and plates etc. The rooms all had ensuite bathrooms and were extremely comfortable with good mattresses and fans in all the rooms. Mid week the lovely cleaners came and changed all the bedding and towels and cleaned all the bathrooms. The house has Wi-Fi throughout with meant that some of us could work if needed. And of course browse Facebook and Instagram.
Can't really add to what's said before, but totally agree the house is a perfect home from home and is a great base for a fantastic holiday.
It's a magical place in the heart of a charming Provençal village. Everything is perfect, from the warm welcome to the newly renovated house. The house has a lot of character and all modern comforts, including a shaded terrace and a swimming pool right in the village!
I would like to thank you for the lovely week we spent at Château du Pic de Rigaud. Henrietta was charming and extremely helpful. The house was beautiful and not too formal. The views were amazing both from the house and the pool. We left feeling uplifted.

Where to start, we have had such a wonderful week we have loved everything about this house and grounds. It is the best house we have ever hired as a group and Mike and Natalie have gone out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Just to mention a few of the many things we loved about the house, the fantastic swimming pool, the incredible views, the activities provided, the comfortable beds, the beautiful seating areas in and out of the house, the breakfast area, the bathrooms... and of course Myrtle the cat who joined us every morning for breakfast. Best of all it was a fantastic place for Grace and Ken to get engaged to be married! Thank you so much for the opportunity to hire this beautiful home. (This was truly a magical place to get engaged, Grace x)

What a lovely time we had! Our two week stay could not have been better. As others have said, the location is a perfect mix of rural quiet and peace, while being close enough to an excellent bakery and convenient shop. If you are lucky enough to holiday there, don’t miss the wonderful restaurants nearby. Debbie is the most amazing host, always there when you need her and very discreet. Her thoughtful and knowledgeable suggestions added immeasurably to our enjoyment.
We have had the most wonderful holiday in your beautiful house. The pool was a sanctuary in the heat. The house is perfect for exploring this lovely part of the south of France. Can we come back, please..?
Thank you for a delightful week in a truly charming cottage. Even if the weather was a wee bit shy about showing the sun the house more than made up for it with its character. The 2 restaurants in the village are excellent! (Remember a torch if you're coming after dinner!). Sarlat on a Wednesday (market day) well worth a visit. Saint-Léon is a pretty place with a big choice of "eateries". Lascaux IV is interesting and well presented.! Many thanks Caterina and Steve!
We all thank you for a beautiful holiday spent in your fantastic house. Breakfast in the garden, peace and wonderful flowers - that is what we will always remember. And maybe... we will return someday.

We have had a a relaxing week in this lovely gite. Madeline and Alan are great hosts. Respect your space but on hand for advice, local knowledge and a chat. We enjoyed kayaking on the Lot, exploring the local area on our bikes and enjoyed using the lovely pool each day (our son's favourite part!). We loved our visit to the Latour-Marliac for a great lunch and a lovely walk around the gardens and amazing water lilies. On our last night we had a great meal in the fish restaurant 'Blue Marine', Villeneuve-sur-Lot. We also had a nice meal in the week at 'La Commonderie' at Temple-sur-Lot. A great holiday. Thank you. We have been using Pure France regularly for many years and we have always stayed in fabulous Villas in great locations. However, we feel that Maison des Communes has just raised the bar for us in terms of the quality of the Villa with its many separate buildings and exotic furnishings. The pool was great and perfectly aligned to catch the Languedoc, Occitanie sunshine all day. And the welcome from the Owners really made us feel welcome and valued as a Customer. They even helped us carry our luggage in from the car! We were so impressed that less then 24 hours after arrival we have already booked for the next year. We cannot wait to return. 5 / 5

Magnificent house in the middle of the fields, tastefully decorated. Fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Nothing is missing. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the deckchairs as well as the surroundings (medieval city of Chauvigny, Futuroscope).
We loved every moment of our stay. The Cottage du Jardin is pretty but so well appointed; super-clean, well equipped and charming. The pool and gardens are private and delightful. Catarina and Stephen are great hosts - nothing is too much trouble and they are just so friendly. This property is a jewel and the villages and ancient sites of the Vezere Valley make this a stunning trip.
We’ve had an amazing time with beautiful weather and an amazing pool to cool down in! The location is perfect to get around and do some sightseeing. We recommend Perigueux, Brantome and market day in Riberac. Your house is one we won’t forget.
