We are just back from two magical weeks in this property set in a beautiful area with many Bastides to visit. The house is spacious with every required amenity hosted by the lovely owners Jean and Martin not forgetting the real star Tanner the dog. The grounds are enormous with a gorgeous pool, gazebo, huge parasols and sun-beds. The local village Lauzun is a short walk away for bread and there is a local Bar de Sport. Each Saturday night in the season the main street is closed off and tables set up for a gourmande evening... Very French! The owners will ensure that you have a good time but are in no way obtrusive. Don't miss the opportunity to try this property!
My family had a fantastic 3-week holiday in La Barde, a beautifully renovated farmhouse. So fantastic, in fact, that we secured a repeat booking for the following year prior to departing. We found the property extremely spacious, sympathetically renovated, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for family day-to-day living. The securely gated pool is perfect for children and we all looked forward to cooling off there each afternoon after exploring the various local food markets and other wonderful excursions. The pool is actually quite large, which meant that the keener members of our party could exercise properly and swim lengths whilst the rest of us happily relaxed and drank local wines. The shallow end is ideal for young children to play or practice their swimming and there is a slightly separate paddling pool which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is a barn area with a large BBQ, which we used most evenings, a ping pong table and lots of lawn games. The courtyard, lawn and gardens are obviously lovingly cared for and just beautiful. La Barde is the perfect setting for children to play and for family and friends to relax, talk, eat and drink. Helen and John gave us a warm welcome and were happy to help with any information we needed. They kindly shared some delicious fruit from their garden with us, which we very much enjoyed cooking and eating. We think this is the perfect place for groups of friends or families to holiday together and celebrate special occasions (it would be an amazing place to host a wedding or spend Christmas) because the size and the layout of the house and grounds mean there is plenty of space for more than one family to be together as well as enough space to have privacy. The location is ideal in terms of exploring the Dordogne. We would highly recommend booking this property any time of the year. We couldn’t believe our luck and can’t wait to return again this summer!
The Loft is wonderful. Beautiful, elegant and peaceful yet still homely - albeit better furnished than our home. We loved our stay and the fortnight flew by. The gorgeous gardens and pool made for a tranquil holiday and a haven after days out in this lovely area. The extra touches of your welcome pack, first breakfast croissants and drinks in the garden were the icing on a very beautiful cake. Thank you. We look forward to hearing of the success of the main house.
We had the best time. A beautiful villa and pool with access to a good range of restaurants/pubs. Thank you so much for your generous deliveries of breakfast and for a super meal at Restaurant 781. We spent most of the holiday relaxing by the pool. Had a couple of visits to the locks (Canal du Midi). Very beautiful and the bus into Béziers was fun. Our two-year-old grandson wanted to stay in our holiday house and told me he didn't want to go back to Orpington! I'd quite like to stay here too.
Great feeling of space with plenty of room for children to play. Pool was superb and much used. The childrens swimming skills improved immensely. Thank you Takayla for lovely food and for accommodating late arrival and intolerances. Nick and Takayla were available and friendly without being intrusive. A fantastic time was had by all the family. Many thanks and looking forward to next year already.
Excellent, everything exceeded our expectations. Lovely space. It was so lovely to arrive to hot food after a long journey and to not have to worry about shopping for the first few days. We had a fantastic holiday and will book again for next year. Thank you both so much.
We loved our stay - we were in a mixed group and it worked really well as each couple had their own space and privacy, but there are wonderful spaces for entertaining as a large group. The pool area is stunning and the setting is calm, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed taking the bikes on trips to nearby villages too!

This time coming back in the summer we got to enjoy time by the pool with breathtaking views, monopoly in the living room, TV nights upstairs and dining under the stars outside. We stayed from July 22 to 29, 2023 in Les Trois Maisons de Valescure. 4 generations, 19 people. Our stay was very pleasant, magnificent hikes, visits - Cotignac is a little marvel, like on the postcards - swimming pool, both logistically and environmentally. Perfect equipment for the twenty-somethings that we were. Thomas contributed to the success of our stay thanks to his attention and efficient responsiveness and excellent communication.
We had a pleasant week with friends. The accommodation met our expectations. The host was responsive and accommodated us for the arrival time. I recommend.
A fantastic place to be, hosts are very friendly and helpful. The gîtes are beautiful decorated and the view is stunning. We had a great time and I would not hesitate to book this beautiful domaine for a holiday again. I wrote a comment in the guestbook to encourage other people to spend their vacation at La Picholine.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We have enjoyed every second. There is such a relaxed and calm atmosphere at Maison Four à Chaux! Perfect, We've been spoilt. We've enjoyed dining in all the areas around the house, especially the pool house! We would recommend a visit to Rochefort and Cognac. The park in Saint-Savinien is great for little ones. A beautifully decorated house in a quiet location close to the town. We loved embracing life in Narbonne shopping in the nearby boulangerie and food market. We also recommend hiring one of the small boats on the Canal Robine. We hope to book your home again some day.

Such bliss, stunning retreat with luxury home comforts We have stayed 2 years in a row and have loved every minute. Relaxing, peaceful, comfortable luxury accommodation with everything a family or group could wish for. Manoir de Saux is very well appointed, with luxurious beds and lovely en suites.
