From the minute we arrived we were made to feel at home with brilliant accommodation including a lovely pool and Martyn and Jean looked after us giving suggestion of places to visit. The area was brilliant with lots to see and many restaurants within a ten minute drive plus one restaurant, bakers butchers and general store all within walking distance. A special thank you to Ombre for keeping our football skills on song. I would thoroughly recommend.
Thank you for such a blissful week with you! We have spent many happy hours enjoying your beautiful garden and pool, while exploring the surrounding countryside on our bikes has been idyllic. Highlights have definitely been visiting château Azay le Rideau, Beauval zoo (an hour and a half by car) and a wonderfully relaxed lunch down by the river at La Route du Sel. Thank you for your incredible hospitality, generosity and warmth. We really hope to return next year!

Great house, pictures on the website don't do it justice. Fantastic feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, even though you are not. Great supermarket around the corner.
We thought that the Loft was lovely. We've had a great two weeks in beautiful accommodation. We've enjoyed exploring the region but have left plenty to do to give us a reason to come back. I know the girls will miss Mack and Mabel - we'll keep you posted if we succumb to their requests to get one of our own! Thank you both for your company and warm hospitality.
We have been visiting France on a regular basis for very many years. In more recent times we have been searching for a place that we might return to, and return to; a home away from home. We need look no more. The Loft is beautiful and a testament to great care and wonderful taste. The garden is inspirational, Mack and Mabel are a delight and Rieux is just what we had hoped for. Above all we think that we have been fortunate in meeting such kind and wonderful hosts who we now regard as friends. In summary our whole experience has been truly exceptional.
Stayed here for a week as a treat to celebrate birthday. Had a wonderful time and cannot recommend highly enough. Hope to return some day.
We had a lovely time at Corinne's apartment. It is very clean, had all amenities for daily living, she has thought of everything. Beautiful, peaceful location, amazing balcony to relax on. Full shutters and blinds on all windows and doors for complete privacy. It is a very calm and peaceful place to unwind and short walk to restaurants and right on the beach. Massive supermarket directly opposite which sells everything you could ever need including excellent seafood. Highly recommended.
If you like the charm of the old, you will be won over. We particularly appreciated the layout of the house and the exterior. The fact that the swimming pool is in the low garden creates both security but also that the house remains very calm when there is commotion at the swimming pool! We played the most memorable games of ping pong in the shade of the majestic cypress trees and the children spent hours illuminating the castle, the immediate proximity of which is magical.
Thank you for the warm welcome - Rêve de Pêcheur is very charming. We enjoyed village life and visits to Château de Villandry, the Cadre Noir, Château de Langeais and Fontevraud Abbey.
We were a group of nine friends and spent 4 nights at this gorgeous house. I don't know where to start, everything was just perfect: The pool, the view, the furnishing, the comfy beds... it's heaven on earth. Sandie and her husband are very lovely people and amazing hosts. I recommend booking the catering option - the food is great and the chocolate fudge cake is to die for. We will definitely come back.
This is a beautiful property and it is well taken care of. We had everything we could possibly think of to enjoy an amazing weekend with family. I imagine this estate as a perfect venue for anything from a group holiday to a wedding. We would definitely stay again.
Three generations of our family enjoyed our stay in Helen's lovely, spacious, well equipped house with its beautiful garden, pool, boules court, summer kitchen and vue du château! Plenty of space, outside and in, as the heat allowed. The cooler basement provided table tennis, gym equipment and jigsaws, all completed during the extreme heat! Location was great for canyoning (Héric), kyaking (Orb), river swimming (Reals), karting (nr. Laurens), scuba diving (Montpellier), painting classes (Pouzolles) etc. Great local restaurants and bars (Roujan, Gabian) and small domaine wines to discover. The large Super U in Roujan has an excellent adjoining boulangerie/patisserie, open Sunday mornings too. Nothing lacking for a brilliant holiday!
I found peace in both the house and the surrounding area. The house itself felt like home. And the town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just a short walk / bike ride away was charming and welcoming, to say the least. Located centrally, I found that the entire South of France was accessible, though I never wanted to leave lovely Mas de Pitou. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
We have had a fabulous week. Weather brilliant. Amazing house, pool, views, olive grove. Perfect. Thank you very much for our wonderful stay in your beautiful villa. We particularly the swimming pool to cool down. We really enjoyed the surrounding scenery in which we star gazed in every evening. We really liked the films and games upstairs in the evening. We are three couples in our 60's from Colorado in the U.S. who enjoy travel, especially in Europe. Over the past three years we have traveled to Italy, Portugal, Spain and France. We would define ourselves as independent travelers enjoying the process of researching destinations, places to stay, renting cars and getting out to see a bigger world. That of course means getting lost from time to time, finding restaurants that are fabulous and some that are so-so and booking houses or B&Bs. My top five reasons for loving Maison Charvin include: 5. If after traveling to many parts of the world you find that smaller can be better as I have, Maison Charvin (MC) is a great fit. Located in the village of Montlaur where there is a small grocery store and a couple other small shops, people are friendly and you feel safe. It isn't too far from a number of good destinations. 4. Four bedrooms, all ensuite. Since we are no longer in our 20's we prefer some comforts and conveniences! Beds were comfortable and each couple had their own quiet space. We prefer renting one extra bedroom so, as happened on this trip, if one person gets sick or has jet lag and waking up at 4:00 am there is an extra room. 3. Fully stocked kitchen. I would start looking for some odd item like a garlic press and think I doubt there is one and lo and behold there always was what we needed! I've never stayed at a place that had a kitchen as well equipped. 2. Value - incredible value for a week's stay. We stayed during the lower season rate, but looking at the rates, it would be good value at anytime of the year. 1. The owner, Sharon. From the very start of communications she was helpful and timely in her email responses to my inquiries. And always with a great sense of humor. Earlier I mentioned we had some illness. Sharon took my wife and I to her doctor, waited with us, translated for us and went to the pharmacy to be sure we received the correct medications. It was easy to see that she wants her clients to have the best experience possible. If South Western France small towns are in your future, be sure to check out Maison Charvin!

You have been incredible hosts, communication and recommendations were excellent. The house exceeded all of our expectations and we all had an incredible time making good use of all that was on offer! Stuart and I particularly enjoyed the table tennis which got quite competitive! We most definitely will be back again soon!
Thanks for the welcome pack of wine, water and coffee. The house is excellently located to explore the old town of Pézenas. Check out the Saturday market, it's incredible. The house and pool are great, comfortable and well laid out.
My family and I enjoyed a very relaxing week at this beautiful and luxurious house. We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous swimming pool every day. Our children, aged 3 and 5, also had a lot of fun running around on the large grounds around the property. Debbie and Rupert are wonderful hosts, suggested lovely places to go and activities we might enjoy and we couldn’t have asked them for anything more. Our favourite places in the surroundings included Belaye for stunning panoramic views, the market in Cahors, Château Eugénie for a lovely wine tasting, Capnature for some fun activities such as Accro-branches (the equivalent of Go Ape), and boating on le Lot river… We loved our stay and hope to come back soon!

Thank you so much for our brilliant holiday. The property is near perfect for a relaxing holiday, we really couldn't want for anything! The area is beautiful and we especially loved the swimming at Ribaute. Lagrasse has some great restaurants and the Sunday market was really interesting. On the owner Ms W advice we took a trip to the Salvador Dali museum in Figueres - this is brilliant and we loved it. The owner Ms W made us feel very welcome, we really enjoyed the wine you left. Thanks again for making our holiday so GREAT!
There were 9 of us meeting for the weekend in the beautiful cottage restored by Christophe's hands. Everything was perfect, from communication before the stay, Christophe's welcome and his legendary conviviality! The place is amazing, it's perfect for sharing special moments with friends and family. The cottage is very well equipped, the decoration is also very beautiful and the place allows you to party well. Thank you both for the most wonderful stay at your beautiful villa. We’ve had the most incredible week exploring the South of France – an area we love – and discovering new places. This spot is extremely special and we’ve relished the relaxing days and evenings spent here (made even more special by the sighting of a wild boar with babies and your marvellous set up for the gorgeous cats) – thank you for showing us this! The secluded spot, surrounded by woodland, an aromatic and fragrant garden attracting many butterflies, a beautiful pool and terrace area is somewhere we won’t forget and would love to come back to. Everything has been thought of at this place which makes it so homely. Everything from kitchen utensils and supplies to the BBQ, bowls and the TV set-up – the place has it all. You have both been such friendly and discrete hosts, allowing us such privacy and the personality you have stamped on the place (from plants, to artwork and sculptures as well as the lovely cats) makes this space so full of character too. Thanks again and we wish you both the best – hopefully we’ll return in the future!

If we could give more than 5 stars we would!! This place was beautiful, everything was pristine, stylish, good quality and the house itself was spacious. Gaëlle and Etienne were incredibly hospitable, lovely people and easy to communicate with. Was such a pleasant stay!
Thank you for letting us stay in this beautiful houser. We were in need of some rest and quiet and this house was perfect for it. We enjoyed the beautiful nature, the lovely places nearby and the refreshing pool/ The house is very well equipped and has a the most amazing view! If we have the chance in the future, we'd love to return.
We had a truly relaxing stay at this lovely property. Immaculate and well equipped- perfectly combining a traditional French property with a modern interior. Most of our time spent chilling by the pool and enjoying the rural surroundings. Christophe was an excellent host always respecting our privacy but helping us out with things such as a wine tasting and setting up the BBQ. The local town Monsegur worth a visit for meals and drinks out - would recommend that you need a car to get around. There was only 4 of us but lots of space to accommodate a larger group - the outside covered space by the pool giving shade from the sunshine if needed. Wished we could have stayed for longer.
Just a quick note to say WOW - we are blown away by your house! It is amazing, we have travelled to France every year for about 10 years but already we know that this will be the best yet! Nothing has disappointed, just thrilled- we are keen cooks (eaters really) and your kitchen is perfect. Off to have a quick wander around the village before returning to cook our traditional first night supper of scallops and fresh prawns. We spent three weeks and greatly enjoyed our time at Maison Charvin. The villa itself is spacious and very well presented. Loads of storage particularly in the kitchen, which has a big fridge freezer and ample cupboard space. The kitchen and house in general, is exceptionally well equipped – in fact better than any that we have stayed in during our 10+ years holidaying in France. All of the bedrooms are large, light and airy and all are ensuite. We were travelling with teenagers and they really appreciated the extra space in the bedrooms to give them a bit of extra privacy / space on their own. There is no WC on the ground floor in the house – however, there is one poolside so this is of little concern. The garden is private and lovely to sit in, with the planting making it an interesting and relaxing space. The pool is not huge, but is good for hanging out and cooling down, particularly in the evenings as it is well lit. There is room for a small car outside the villa, but as ours is a big estate we left it at the bottom of the road about 100m away, convenient and safe. The villa is centrally located in a nice and friendly village. There is a really useful general store within walking distance, but the bakery closed down shortly before we arrived and the bar apparently opens infrequently and is up for sale – presumably these are temporary issues though. There were a number of social events going on in the village, with a market taking place each Tuesday evening where we enjoyed having a wander before sitting with a glass of wine. Carcassonne is close by and there are plenty of places in the area to visit. Our experience was very positive and we certainly feel the villa was excellent value for money. Finally, a word on our host - Sharon is based in a neighbouring village over the summer and was super friendly and helpful, making recommendations for trips out and booking restaurants for us. This was much appreciated and allowed us to make the most of our stay. Overall, we would heartily recommend!
