From the moment we walked through the doors of Maison Charvin we knew that this was the perfect house for our holiday – the squeals of delight from the grandchildren (and their parents) at the sight of the pool and the surrounding garden suggested that the house would more than meet the requirements of all three generations of the family – it did this in spades. Owner Ms W attention to details and her anticipation of all of our needs was very much appreciated, as was her additional assistance in dealing with the local mechanic (flat tyre) and dentist (broken tooth) which was above and beyond the call of duty and will not be forgotten – many thanks. We had a wonderful holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending Maison Charvin to family and friends.
Thank you for sharing your lovely house and garden at Maison Charvin. We spent our time climbing to Médiéval castles, cycling along the Canal du Midi and white-water rafting in the Aude River ! Every day we started by wandering around the lovely village before venturing out on an adventure. If you have children, there is a really good football pitch down by the rugby club. We also really enjoyed 'Abyss on tour' on our fist night here. A wonderful holiday!
Well, when Beverley told me she wanted to bring our children and grandchildren for a 'once in a lifetime' holiday, to celebrate our forthcoming 50th wedding anniversary in October, I must be honest I was negative and full of foreboding! But... Domaine de Nérige! Wow, what a place Bev found while I was moping around saying this won’t work. Not only was the location, 'in the middle of nowhere' absolutely perfect but the house was just beautiful with every facility we could possibly have wanted not to mention Sandie and David constantly going the extra mile if we needed advice. Thank you both for being the perfect hosts. We have not one negative word to say about this beautiful property - the rooms were comfortable, cooled where necessary with AC, the plethora of bathrooms is nothing short of extraordinary. Showers perfect and the supply of local wine and your own olive oil is truly the nicest touch. The games room, the space for kids to play on the terrace culminating in the fantastic pool was everything kids and the whole family would want. We didn’t need to leave here and, in fact, we probably did spend more time here that we would have in a 'run of the mill' villa. So finally, thank you to you both. We would love to see you both again but it would not be with such a heavy group of 'hangers on' although Bev’s decision for us to all be together this year was an inspirational one which worked perfectly. Everyone LOVED it.
A beautiful spot. We loved the views and the new swimming pool. So wonderful to have a nice pool for early morning swims! Our boys loved the lonely grounds too. We enjoyed the night markets, castles and activities around.
Lovely place to stay, enjoyed being able to walk to the cafes and shops. Highlights; cycling to Chinon own hire bikes. Lovely walk through vineyards to the soap museum/shop. We had some extremely hot days (37 degrees) so went to Lac du Grezillé. Loved Saumur and Chinon, highly recommend Château Bréze.
We stayed in the Maison des Artistes for 2 weeks at the end of June and had a fantastic holiday. There were 5 adults and 2 kids in our party and the house had plenty of room for everyone’s differing needs. The photos of the listing are absolutely spot on in terms of accuracy! The outside space really is big. It had plenty of chairs/loungers/covered day beds. Fantastic outside table for al fresco eating. The pool was beautiful. We had a couple of minor issues with the pool during our stay due to a couple of severe storms in the area but Colin and Mel were very prompt at dealing with these. The gas BBQ was spotlessly clean when we arrived, which you often find to not be the case. Internally there is air conditioning in each room. The whole house has electric shutters which are great for blackout blinds to get some good sleep and also keep the house cooler. Beds very comfortable, nice linen wear on all beds. Towels were all brand new. Generous and lovely welcome basket was there for us on arrival. Colin and Mel met us on arrival at the property and gave us a very quick run down and left us to it. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout our stay when we did have any queries or minor issues. Kitchen was very well equipped for large parties, loads of plates, utensils, cookware etc. Good supply of kitchen basics. Lovely toiletries in bathrooms. Very quiet peaceful location. In summary one of the best properties we have ever stayed in over many years of holidaying abroad
Well, what can we say other than we have had a ball and our 'musicals' night with you both will enter the folklore of the families. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality, friendship and laughs - what a holiday! We've loved every minute of our holiday. The Loft is superb in every aspect. As hosts we could not have hoped for a more welcoming, friendly and helpful couple - you are amongst the chosen! Thank you so much for helping us have such an amazing holiday.
I have stayed here with friends on several occasions and the tranquility and serenity is something to treasure. Maison Bourriette and gardens are furnished to the highest standard with a special courtyard enclosed in the original barn walls. The pool and surroundings cater for the most ardent sunbather or swimmer. The welcome you receive is personal and nothing is too much trouble, thus ensuring your best possible stay. From the house you are near to many interesting attractions dotted around the rolling countryside but if you don't want to leave the sanctuary of the house, then there are numerous delightful walks on the doorstep taking you through woods to small settlements or even into Montaigu for quality food and drink. I cannot wait to go back again!
Foreign and familiar. Grand and intimate. Giving us frivolity and solitude. Château La Roche-Posay had given us exactly what we needed. The host made our stay all the more enjoyable with the perfect amount of attention. Thank you for helping us to open our eyes to a beautiful part of France!

Carole and Jean-Luc have created a wonderful tranquil home. It is easily the best equipped we have ever rented - for instance the kitchen is lacking nothing at all! It's in a great location and within a short drive of local attractions (eg Grasse, Mons, Callian etc.) as well as within a short distance of the Riviera. Our hosts were very helpful when we sought advice and we hope one day that we will be able to return.
This is a beautiful place to discover. An irresistible residence in perfect communion with the landscape and the environment of the place. Calm, charm of the place, landscape and Sandie's welcome is what made the stay magical. I recommend without hesitation.
Dear friends from Paris hosted us as their guests at your château. They could not have given us a more memorable, magical, truly incredible experience!
An idyllic month! The farmhouse is lovely, cool inside and beautifully equipped. Everything worked perfectly, even the Wi-Fi for the numerous zoom meetings we both had in England. The summer kitchen and pool were a godsend, yesterday was 48° in the sun! Insane temperature but we coped well, including Harry, our black Labrador who always love being outside normally could hardly be dragged away from the cool tiles on the floor! Harry swam too in the Lot and various lakes nearby - very useful. We loved it so much, we are looking for a month next year. A huge thank you to Stéphane and Cathy (and Jean Luc) who looked after us and the pool and house so well. The area locally is so friendly and we have met some lovely people - at the Wednesday night market in Salles, walking Harry at 7 am in the morning (Mike, not me!) and on various visits to Monflanquin and other local bastide villages. 14th July celebrations last night were greatfun too. Vive la France! With many thanks again.
What a gorgeous place! You have made a beautiful job of the Loft du Vigneron. It is homely, classy and welcoming, and you have thought of everything! We felt thoroughly pampered and loved every minute of our stay. The Loft will remain as my screensaver for quite some time to come… Can't wait to see the pics of the house. Over the years we have stayed in around twenty different houses all over France - most were good, one or two were very good. But then there is the special one - this year. This house didn't feel like a house; it felt like home from the moment we walked through the door, after a long and tiring drive (and, bless you, there was bottle of ready chilled local wine ready and waiting for us). 'Welcome to your home' it said. The layout, décor and furnishings are delightful; and the luxury of each bedroom having its own bathroom topped it off. We had friends who came to stay for a while and they shared our thoughts. One couple even came back for a second visit on their way home. And then there is the garden – warm, private, shaded when you want it and serene. And yes, the pool is fabulous – it's a proper size. But wait until you see the garden at night, when you have your barbecue and the garden and pool lights come into play... makes the local rose taste even more morish. And then there is Pézenas - ten minutes walk away through a vineyard. And you won't go hungry there. Wonderful town. Only one regret – we couldn't parcel it up and take it home. It is, truly, an oasis.
We've spent a perfect week in this confortable and delicate house. Weve appreciated the garden, the view and the region. Our special thanks to Frédéric for his friendly welcome, assistance and suggestions.
Our 2nd visit to Mas de Lozanne and it certainly didn't disappoint. The extreme heat curtailed some outings, but the pool area was a haven! We still managed daily coffees in Café d'Art and a couple of early evening drinks. We made good use of the barbecue. Pezanas keeps on giving and this house, nestled in the vines, is a delight! This is a total joy of a house. The photographs make it look beautiful - it is even better in real life. The pool is quite incredible - like being in a boutique hotel all of your own. A true hidden gem.
Went to this beautiful holiday cottage for the second time. What a great experience again this time. We were warmly welcomed and our house felt like coming home again. Host and hostess Leo and Esther gave us great tips so that our holiday became a great experience again. The visit to Nîmes was impressively beautiful. I especially recommend visiting Avignon to everyone with its beautiful center and the cozy terraces around the market square. The swimming pool overlooking the vineyards is a pearl. The silence descends on you wonderfully in the evening. Truly unique. Thank you for another great holiday.
We have had a most amazing week. The weather has been perfect and this beautiful house has been a haven of peace and tranquility for adults and children alike. Needless to say we don't want to go home!
WHAT A PLACE! The Loft has everything you could possibly hope for - homeliness, elegance, well-equipped, clearly well-cared for, and such gracious hosts; we simply could not have hoped for more. Thank you for all your hospitality, and for providing breakfast on our first day which was an exceptional touch. All the information you have provided has been spot-on, and we can only hope for the opportunity to return to try more of the restaurants (and the wines). From pool days to skydiving and hedgehog rescue, this holiday will live long in the memory - even the techno DJ set in Carcassonne thumping through our dinner, as they dropped the bass during our hors d’oeuvres, made us laugh!
Lovely holiday home. This was the first time we had stayed in this area of Perigord. The house was fantastic, very large for 4 people and had a really good swimming pool. The house is only 2 km from the river which is also lovely to swim in. There is also a lake nearby at Grolejac as well if you prefer that. The property is in a quiet but central location with numerous beautiful towns to visit nearby (e.g. Domme and Sarlat) and lots of activities to enjoy. We had a great 2 week holiday here!
The property is set in lovely grounds; away from it all yet close to the bastide towns of Monpazier and Villereal. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, which is well kept and maintained on a regular basis by one of the locals. The house is comfortable and equipped with everything you need.
Really brilliant week at Mas Saint-Cernin. We have loved the houses, garden, pool, views, sun-rises and sunsets, birds, red squirrels etc etc. The local towns are so pretty and the fantastic markets provided most of our food. Lots of coffee stops. Found it easy to do boulangerie trip. Intermarche just outside Castillonnes was an easy supermarket shop (done on Tuesday after visiting the great market where we got large boxes of peaches, apricots and haricot vert for 5 Euros. Great wine tasting at Les Verdots - wish we had gone there earlier for our wine. La Brucellerie great for a meal. Bikes hired from Bergerac cycle hire, google Apolo cycles. Best to book in advance but really helpful man there. Huge thanks to John and Lesley for providing such wonderful accommodation (they have thought of everything) and for being so warm and helpful all week. We have appreciated your many kindnesses. Hope to return soon.
