Our stay at La Petite Maison Générille was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, this charming haven blends old-world elegance with soul-warming hospitality. The hosts are the heart of this home. Their graciousness, attention to detail, and open-hearted kindness transformed our visit into something unforgettable. One evening, as we enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace, hot air balloons floateo across the distant sky - the kind of moment that lingers long after you've returned home. The rooms are exquisite-thoughtfully designed, impeccably clean, and filled with the kind of character that photographs simply can't capture. It's the kind of place where time slows down and you're gently reminded of what it means to truly relax. We came to La Petite Maison Générille as travelers... and left with new friends and a piece of this village etched into our hearts. We cannot wait to return!

Not only do you have a truly beautiful house in a fantastic location, but your hospitality, support and advice allowed us to relax and enjoy our break to the full. A wonderful week in the villa! The sun has shone and we've made the most of the pool! Very welcome relief from the heat. Villa is very well appointed - everything has been thought of. Local team were great, a quick response to our queries. We explored Pezanas and the beaches at Portiragnes and Sète - both fabulous! We agree - the welcome wine was a lovely thought - a good introduction to local wines! Thank you for a great week!

What a wonderful week we have had exploring the Loire from your beautiful house! From the very warm welcome as soon as we arrived, it was clear that we had found a special place. I've had the privilege to stay at Villa Lavinière for three weeks and have felt welcomed, relaxed every day. Cycling to nearby by villages, visiting the vineyards and enjoying the sun and the wine of the local area are all highly recommended. Thank you for allowing me to stay for this very special get away. I will cherish the memory of the time here.
Simply a wonderful holiday, house and village We're just back from spending a week in this fabulous house in a great little village. The house had everything to make our stay totally comfortable with loads of space for our party of two couples and could have accommodated two or three more people easily. The pool and pool area were great with plenty of loungers and seating with a nice shaded area for refuge from the sun at the hight of the afternoon but best of all there is a great terrace where we spent the warm evenings with a glass or three of our favourite tipple. We were able to join in the fun and celebrations in the local bars as France progressed in the World Cup, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The village itself has all we would want bakeries, a couple of bars and restaurants with pretty good food and all just 1 to 2 minutes walk from the house, there is even a good supermarket 5 minutes walk away. All in all we had a great holiday and can't wait to go back next year, 5 stars from us.
This was a great find for our annual French holiday. Your lovely house was perfect for the whole family, it was hard to get the kids out of the pool at the end of the day. Monflanquin is a great town, a real discovery with lots of great restaurants.
You can still continue your search for other holiday homes in Southern France, but it's not worth the effort. Thanks to the owners for two weeks of perfect vacation in their charming house, where nothing is missing.
We had a wonderful week at Manoir Coutenson. The spacious house is very well equipped. The swimming pool is incredibly warm and the children (even the baby) spent hours in it. The shaded area by the pool was essential as the weather was really hot. We loved the area. It is fairly rural but with easy access to the town. The house is very child friendly with toys, high chairs and plastic bowls and plates and lots of pool accessories. All of which were appreciated by our 5 grandchildren. A fabulous, relaxing holiday. The village and surrounding towns again were beautiful and couldn't have asked for more! We will definitely be recommending the House of Swallows to all of our family and friends.
We enjoyed a peaceful holiday. We visited Carcassonne, Minerve, Caunes-Minervois, Olonzac market, Cascade de Mauroul and the Tropical Butterfly Garden near Perpignan. We loved driving the small country roads, seeing the vineyards, the windmill and the marble in Caunes-Minervois. The weather was great for hiking, although sometimes very windy. The pool was a little too cold to swim every day. We loved the house and its terraces—we really felt at home. Thank you!
The villa is a very comfortable, spacious house. Furniture and fitments are of an excellent standard. Each bedroom has its own shower / bathroom and toilet plus its own sitting space / retreat. A great advantage for a large family, group of friends, two families sharing the accommodation. The outside area is very pleasant and private. Plenty of space for sitting out and relaxing. The location of the villa is ideal for visiting places along the Côte d'Azur. Public transport is within walking distance of the villa, as are shops for one's daily needs. The owners are friendly and helpful.
We had a really pleasant holiday in the villa and enjoyed the swimming pool and the view from the garden in particular. The air-conditioning is fantastic! We found the bedrooms large and spacious and appreciated the fact that they were all ensuites. Thank you!
We are back again! Thank you so much Jackie and Geoff, we had the most fantastic stay again. The house was beautiful and the pool was perfect. We spent 99% of the time outside. Drinks at Le Pub and dinner at plenty of new restaurants! No car needed. Thank you!
What a beautiful 'home away from home' you have created here. This first holiday has been everything we could have wished for and more. Your hospitality and company have been wonderful and matched only by the breathtaking accommodation and gardens. You have thought of everything and we have wanted for nothing and the delicious birthday cake was a particular highlight! We can't wait to see what the future holds for the main house.
As our week draws to a close I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you both for another fabulous week staying in your lovely house. As with last year, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time, both chilling around the pool and house as well as exploring the local area - so many treats to be found.
An amazing and wonderful place to stay! We only had a week but it was a very special week, our first time in the Dordogne was made into an extra special one by staying in this fairytale cottage with the owners providing everything that you would want or need for a brilliant holiday they were the perfect hosts! The cottage was perfect, clean and very comfortable not to mention the pool which was an added bonus we would be very happy to recommend this beautiful cottage and location for a relaxing holiday!
What to say about this too short stay during which we had a great family vacation. From the very pleasant welcome of Karine and Pascal, from our great exchanges, from their listening to the needs everything was perfect. Charming owners and an incredible cottage where the days go by too quickly. We will miss the fishing pond and the donkeys and deer. Again a huge thank you for everything. We will be back.
A brief note to advise that we have enjoyed a wonderful week at Château de la Ronde. It is a very special location and premises of the highest order. Claire is a charming host. We hope to maybe return one day.
We were absolutely overwhelmed by beauty, tranquility and views surrounding the wonderful home. Such a privilege to spend time here forming special memories with the family - especially celebrating a significant birthday! We enjoyed the gorgeous pool, BBQ'd, had a vineyard tour and wine tasting, kayaked on the Dordogne and much more. Frédéric's warmth, helpfulness and attention to detail was very much appreciated- we can't praise the level of service and thoughtfulness enough! Thank you so much!

Spacious and beautiful house and grounds. Shaded areas a welcome balance. Very child and baby friendly. Lovely pool. Everything thought of and provided for a 3 generation family. Toys / DVDs / Books perfectly stocked. Playroom and comfortable seating a huge bonus. The WII very much appreciated! Food delicious and in perfect quantities. Very helpful to have options - prepared and / or catered. Thoughtful and considerate catering for children.
Wonderful home for a family vacation, amenities all on one level with nice pool with good alarm protection. Also a great place to live outside with pizza maker, BBQ and very easy to use functional kitchen. Lots of outside shaded seating areas. Air conditioning in bedrooms was a great benefit during hot weather. Lovely furnishings and felt like the home of a happy family. Easy access to boulangerie, supermarket and local restaurant - all less than 5 minutes walk. Thank you.
