We had such a fantastic stay at Maison Lanave. We loved the house, pool, location and surrounding area. It was really a special trip. David and Kirstie were so great at making us feel welcome and giving great recommendations for wine tasting, night food markets and local restaurants during our trip. The pool area and outdoor BBQ is fabulous for big groups, BBQs and meals. It exceeded everyone's expectations and the photos really don't do the property justice. We loved it!
The host met us on arrival and not only gave us a tour of the apartment but also the entire building and surrounding areas. The apartment was spotless, beautiful modern design with all amenities and so close to the beach. Most importantly for us it catered to a young baby with a high chair, cot, baby bath and even bath toys. Finally the location is immense if you wish to explore the French Riviera. We did day trips in our rental car both East and West from the apartment including Eze, Cannes, Antibes, Nice, St Paul de Vence, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Menton, Monte Carlo and Cap Ferrat. Thank you for giving us a perfect holiday.
Fantastic place. Peace and tranquillity and magnificent view from the balcony. Proximity to a private beach. Perfectly equipped kitchen, large living room. I highly recommend it to everyone. And of course, the wonderful host Ben. Of course, I must also add the situation between Monaco and Nice. Unforgettable, thank you!

Words cannot express how fantastic this place is. The sunsets, the pool, the kitchen, the coffee machine…all sublime.
From the moment I arrived at Les Cazettes, I was completely mesmerised by it. Every corner of the villa has the most beautiful architecture, thoughtful design and authentic charm in every detail, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Each room is a masterpiece. All that beautiful furniture and chandeliers speak of timeless elegance and gives it much more personality than any modern soulless contemporary interior designs that is more common to find among luxury villas. As someone who deeply values nature, the villa's surroundings became my nirvana place. With colourful fields that seem to stretch infinitely and forests that attract to explore it, there’s a certain magic that Les Cazettes holds. The air here is different - it’s charged with an energy so vibrant, yet very calming. It's rare to find a place that can give you the feeling of being home, especially when you're miles away from what you’ve always known. It’s an oasis where happiness isn’t just felt, it's lived. I've spent such beautiful moments here, makes me feel so warmly nostalgic as I write this review. Bring your favourite people with you and step into that bubble that feels from another world. A place where joy isn’t just a sporadic emotion but a permanent atmosphere that surrounds you. It's not just a holiday spot - it’s an experience, a journey, a lifestyle that I never wanted to end. Came for 2 weeks, had a warm welcome from our hosts. We explored the area and further afield, went on lovely walks, found some lovely villages, Sarlat-la-Caneda and Bergerac with their lovely markets. A charming and pretty old house with a private garden and small pool to cool off in. It was clean, extremely tasteful and comfortable. There were five of us and we had plenty of room. Good garden furniture outside and loungers by the pool too. Eimear was a really helpful and responsive host with clear instructions and helpful tips. Gabian is a sweet little town and we enjoyed wandering down to the boulangerie for croissants and bread every morning. The local area is pretty and we went to various beaches and Pezenas all of which were easily reached by car. We all loved our stay and highly recommend it.
Tortoise name suggestions:- Sherman Victor Esio Trot (anagram for tortoise + book +TV show!) Sheldon (The Big Bang Theory TV). We have enjoyed a wonderful week in your stunning house. Mostly enjoying the weather and pool! We have seen the red squirrel, lizards, water vole and many birds. It's so peaceful and beautiful, we will miss it.
It is true what the other reviews have mentioned - the photos do not do it justice - the accommodation is huge and the living area is simply gorgeous. The location is perfect, completely silent and peaceful, yet not too far from the boulangerie, activities and local towns. Debbie and Rupert were so welcoming, we immediately felt at home. There was no problem too small and Debbie helped us to book local activities and dinners out. It was the break we had needed for so long, thank you so much.
We have had a wonderful time at the villa. Eric and his wife are great hosts and very helpful if needed. The house is perfect and the pool even better. We visited some lovely places and can recommend Quatre Chateaux Lastours, Minerve and kayaking on the river Orb. The restaurant in the village is cute and we liked the food at the restaurant in Roubia. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday. Merci beaucoup.
We are back again! Thank you so much Jackie and Geoff, we had the most fantastic stay again. The house was beautiful and the pool was perfect. We spent 99% of the time outside. Drinks at Le Pub and dinner at plenty of new restaurants! No car needed. Thank you!
A beautiful place with big rooms, great decor and a nice pool. Very relaxing.
Expect a warm welcome from friendly and helpful owners, Nicky and Richard to the lovey château. Beautifully located among vine covered fields and wooded hills, we'd enjoyed the peace, the views, the wonderful pool and the space. The château is not far from some pretty villages dotted around the River Lot and Cahors is only 25 minutes away. Plenty to do and see in the area, with the opportunity to return back to our holiday oasis where we could barbecue and relax or play a round of golf on site in their vast grounds. Loved it.
The house is stunning. The vintage furniture and decor mixed with more modern touches made us feel immediately at home! We enjoyed the pool area very much as well! And the location was perfect as well. Being able to see the boats on the Canal du Midi from the living room makes the house even more cozy and amazing. We will definitely come back soon! Thank you.

We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from the owners Caterina and Steve, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed in many lovely places over the years but this place is truly special and a perfect little gem... the interior is beautifully presented with many thoughtful touches, from the fresh flowers to the fragrance sticks... Caterina keeps the place fresh and immaculate, a home from home! Steve works hard to keep the pool and the grounds in tip top condition, which we really appreciated. We had been staying with family in nearby Sarlat prior to our arrival which was rather hectic and we were looking forward to relaxing and having some 'chill Tim'... for sheer relaxation and tranquility this place is hard to beat, in a fab location and we would return in a flash!
This is an updated and more comprehensive review of our stay in June at the wonderful Maison des Cordeliers in Sarlat. After a very long journey down to Sarlat from Calais via Orleans through some frankly biblical rain storms, it was a relief to arrive at such a welcoming home! The house was very cosy and had all the home comforts you would want. The beds were super comfortable (that's saying something from a fussy bed person) and there was plenty of storage for luggage. Kitchen and living area were again stocked with all you needed and the satellite TV was a bonus for the Euros! As the weather improved, we spent a lot of time round the lovely pool or when it got too hot the veranda was a welcome spot to get some shade and relax with a book. The air con was also massively appreciated! We had never stayed in this part of France before, normally heading to Provence or the Côte d'Azur, but the town did not disappoint. Beautiful medieval architecture, fabulous markets and lovely shops and restaurants. Sarlat is a real wonder and the fact it's an easy 5 minute stroll from the house is such a bonus. I can honestly say we had a wonderful, relaxing, break at Maison des Cordeliers and would be delighted to stay again the next time we find ourselves in the Dordogne.
It is beautiful and absolutely perfect for our needs. We also loved the village and the restaurant. We have stayed in some lovely houses in France but yours is definitely the best. We will be in touch when we next head to France!

A delight from start to finish! Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We came as a group of 17 for my parents 50th wedding anniversary ages ranging from 3 to 75 and we all had a fab time. Scott and Rose-Anne couldn’t do enough for us and if we had any query they were always so helpful. The houses and grounds were just beautiful with the pool/ hot tub and sauna brilliant additions. So glad we chose this property for the very special occasion. Thank you for such an unforgettable ( in the best sense!) stay.

I have stayed in this property twice now, once with family and once with a group. Both times have been excellent. The villa itself is large, spacious with all the facilities you will ever need and very well maintained. On the last visit, it was noticeable that money had been spent modernising the interior. The key asset is the large pool which is fantastic. We spent most of our time using the kitchen and barbeque area in the pool house and dipping in and out of the pool. Very relaxing. The grounds are large too so plenty of space for the kids to run around safely. Vidauban itself is a traditional French village with shops, cafés and restaurants around the town square etc. and slightly further afield good access to the Côte d'Azur, several water parks and the gorgeous and picturesque Lac du Verdon, with a plethora of water activities from windsurfing, to pedal boat rentals and of course a great number of Vineyards to sample the local Rose wine. Recommend very highly.
We had a great holiday and also a safe trip home thanks. Maison de Saint-Jean was amazing and you've been a pleasure to deal with.
