A wonderful week in the villa! The sun has shone and we've made the most of the pool! Very welcome relief from the heat. Villa is very well appointed - everything has been thought of. Local team were great, a quick response to our queries. We explored Pezanas and the beaches at Portiragnes and Sète - both fabulous! We agree - the welcome wine was a lovely thought - a good introduction to local wines! Thank you for a great week!
Many thanks for our wonderful week here in your beautiful home and surroundings. We loved every minute with the children spending their time in the pool, playing table tennis and with all the other games (chess, dominoes…) You kindly supplied we couldn’t have asked for more and very much appreciated our welcome pack. We had a very good stay at Villa des Pivoines. Everything was perfect, we had a few requests which were fulfilled with great care and attention. Very responsive host too! The place is very clean, quiet and the environment is magnificent! I recommend.

The area is lovely with loads to do, from our point of view it was a perfect holiday, with the decision on whether to relax by the pool or visit one of the Beaux Villages being the biggest decision we had to make for the 3 weeks!
We loved our stay! Can’t say enough about how beautiful the scenery was from the house. Close to the lake and a grocery store. Claude and Michelle were very kind and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful.
Weather lovely watching the house and surroundings. Trip to a little place 45 or so miles away called Coulon well worth a day out there. It was a very pretty riverside town where you could hire bikes, canoes or kayaks or take a leisurely stroll only the banks. Then enjoy refreshments at the riverside bars/restaurants while enjoying the sunshine and scenery. Will definitely visit again. Stayed here many times and never get tired as there is always somewhere new to go and explore (if you can bear ro tear yourself away from here). We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from the owners Caterina and Steve, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed in many lovely places over the years but this place is truly special and a perfect little gem... the interior is beautifully presented with many thoughtful touches, from the fresh flowers to the fragrance sticks... Caterina keeps the place fresh and immaculate, a home from home! Steve works hard to keep the pool and the grounds in tip top condition, which we really appreciated. We had been staying with family in nearby Sarlat prior to our arrival which was rather hectic and we were looking forward to relaxing and having some 'chill Tim'... for sheer relaxation and tranquility this place is hard to beat, in a fab location and we would return in a flash!

Lovely house, fab pool and great location! First time to Sarlat and lots to see and do. House is lovely, walking distance to the centre of Sarlat. The pool is amazing and much needed in 35°c heat. Would definitely recommend.

A fantastic week exploring the area, with the beautiful house to retreat to. The local markets have been wonderful, with lots of delicious food which has been enjoyed in the surroundings of Le Malardier. The other highlights have been visiting Aubeterre, canoeing and a trip to the Chateaux. A magnificent week.
My wife and I, along with our eldest granddaughter, spent a truly memorable week at Maison Baleyssagues. For an introduction to the region of unspoilt bastide towns of upper Lot-et Garonne, eastern Gironde and Dordogne, Villa Baleyssagues provides a superb base. It commands a beautiful panoramic view of the open countryside in all directions, which includes the extraordinary Château de Duras, itself an unmissable example of national, regional and local dedication to conservation of cultural heritage. Celebrated names like Saint Emilion, Bergerac, Sarlat-la-Canéda and Bordeaux, itself, also feature in a list of must-see’s offering a variety of attractions for every taste – and all within manageable reach. (Speaking of taste, do not miss le Pain de maïs at the boulangerie in Duras. It is to die for, easy to cut into toast-able slices and retains its moistness for a week.) (Frederic will vouch for this.) We cannot praise the villa without including its Property Manager, Frederic Guiraud, most welcoming and helpful and always available at request on short notice. His welcome pack is the most thoughtful and generous we have ever encountered over many years of villa rentals in France. He has managed to compile a bound guide book featuring excellent introductions and practical visitor information on a multitude of towns and notable sites throughout the region. It obviously reflects considerable work and must be the most comprehensive visitor guide we have experienced anywhere. As for the villa, itself, it does justice to all the pictures you will have seen in the property listing. We found it impeccably clean and in excellent repair. We thoroughly enjoyed eating outside on the terraces, luxuriating and playing in and by the pool and feasting on the views, especially in the evenings after a busy day of touring. The beautifully tuned piano must also be mentioned for those who enjoy playing on a fine instrument or just gently tinkling for leisurely entertainment.

An incredibly magical week in this very special home. With such a large (chaotic!) group it was wonderful to have so much space that the energetic children had so much to keep them busy and even allowed the adults to feel like they had R and R! Very much hoping to be able to come back and explore more as we enjoyed it immensely!

Beautifully located, right on the sea, very neat and very cozy even in bad weather. Lionel was via telephone and email at all times and has responded quickly to any questions. The concierge, who hands over the keys and makes the final cleaning is very personable and locally at all times. In short: everything perfect! We would definitely come back!
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home and for your warm hospitality. Our week here has or provided us with much needed R and R after the turmoil of the last year. We will be sad to leave but hope to return.
We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage kids. From the first day, we settled in and found it very difficult to leave after two weeks. The owners have not only created a wonderfully rustic house, but it has been very well thought out, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for a family of 5. This is complemented by one of the best settings you could imagine - gently rolling hills set back from a quiet country road. Being a sporty family, we used the beautiful pool every day. Most private pools in France are under 10 metres, so we really appreciated the full 13 metres to swim some laps. Much to our delight, there was an outdoor badminton court and boules area. The big, flat lawn at the top of the property was the perfect place to kick some balls around. The surrounding area is a delight to discover. From limestone caves, to underground churches carved out of the hillside, to charming market towns, to river 'beaches' for cooling off, the area never seems crowded. All this, coupled with the exquisite food and drink from the region (at exceptional prices), makes this an area that the discerning tourist should not miss. We cannot recommend staying here highly enough. The owners, who live next door, are the perfect hosts. They never once intruded on our privacy, but were more than happy to chat and provide advice, if asked. We look forward to returning!
A truly wonderful family week in the sun! La Cigaliere met all of our needs and expectations. The layout and facilities allowed both togetherness and the odd moment of seclusion. As we have only scratched the surface of the region, I am sure we will be back. La Panouille (local pizzeria) was a great hit. Twice! Thank you and with our best wishes.
Wow, what a holiday! We've just returned from a fantastic week at the house and all 14 of us have nothing but praise for the whole week. The house has been beautifully renovated and is perfectly equipped in every way. We ranged from 75 to 1 yr old and had plenty of space for us all. From the crisp white linen on the very comfy beds to the pizza oven, full sized bar, the lovely sun loungers and very well equipped kitchen... we couldn't have asked for more. The kids loved picking tomatoes and lettuce from the kitchen garden and my sister and I loved the fabulous gym with amazing views across the valley. In the run up to the holiday, I had all my questions answered and George was on hand for anything we needed during our stay. We're already planning our return visit next year, hopefully for a couple of weeks as one just isn't enough!
