What a lovely week we have spent here exploring the Loire. We have throughly enjoyed returning each evening to the quiet sanctuary of this beautiful home - a true taste of France! The grounds and garden are so peaceful and relaxing and we would have wished to spend more time doing so but alas it is time to go. Merci beaucoup!
Our stay at Le Mas de Combet was fantastic. We had a warm welcome at our arrival, the house is perfectly situated in the countryside. It is very quiet with a very nice view on forests and fields. The swimming pool is big and clean and although the weather wasn’t very hot, the pool was perfect. Our host has given us ideas and indications about what to do in the area and has cared about us during the stay, offering his help and assistance, even with fresh bread! We definitely recommend this house and would love to stay there again, whenever possible!
The house worked very well for our 3-generation family of 5 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the lounge area is capacious, with a good tv and sound system. All the windows are protected by screens to keep the mosquitoes out. At the back of the house is a useful room with a washing machine and a large outside clothes line. The pool was excellent. The adults used it to cool down, the children played safely and grew in confidence in the water (with the reassurance of a pool alarm.) We had a 2-year-old with us, who mostly paddled in the shallow section. Shade was always available somewhere in the garden, either from trees or the canopy on the sun terrace. The garden is totally private, with a wooded hill to the left. We ate outside in the evenings, using spray and candles to repel the mosquitoes which seemed to be attracted to pale English people. The villa is very well located for visiting Cassis, Marseille and Aix. We also travelled to Arles, Avignon, Les Baux and Nice. The lake at Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon provided a swimming opportunity and some of us visited the waterfall at Sillans-la-Cascade near the beautiful village of Cotignac. We can recommend a boat trip to see the Calanques from the harbour in Cassis and La Ciotat is lovely. We mostly used a supermarket 10 minutes away by car in Greasque, which also has a good boulangerie. We found excellent cafes in Fuveau (Caribou) and La Bouillabaisse (The Coffee House). Aubagne has a large ‘out-of-town’ complex with a massive Auchan and a range of chain restaurants. We found a very good pizza van in Gréasque (although they do move around so Google Maps was not reliable). We were welcomed on arrival by Juliette, who also returned to clean the pool half way through our stay and to collect the keys when we left. She was very helpful in recommending places to visit.

A wonderful stay at the beautiful gite. Sue and Patrick were the perfect hosts. We had lots of fun exploring the areawith our two sons. In particular, we loved the new pool, with our eldest learning to swim on our trip! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Everything is fantastic, the chalet is even better than in the photos and we notice the affection we gave it in the smallest details. It has everything you could need and the devices are big brands. We stayed with many children and they had a good time. A big thank you to the hosts and we hope to return soon.

We have had a fantastic week on holiday. This house is in an amazing position with panoramic views in all directions. Enjoyed cooking and relaxing in the pool. My family and I enjoyed a very relaxing week at this beautiful and luxurious house. We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous swimming pool every day. Our children, aged 3 and 5, also had a lot of fun running around on the large grounds around the property. Debbie and Rupert are wonderful hosts, suggested lovely places to go and activities we might enjoy and we couldn’t have asked them for anything more. Our favourite places in the surroundings included Belaye for stunning panoramic views, the market in Cahors, Château Eugénie for a lovely wine tasting, Capnature for some fun activities such as Accro-branches (the equivalent of Go Ape), and boating on le Lot river… We loved our stay and hope to come back soon!
A perfect villa with a perfect property manager. We are six retired Americans who travel together often. The property manager is most responsive we have dealt with. If messaged at a reasonable hour she respond in minutes. Now add to that a wonderful modernised property in a wonderful location and you get what we got, a perfect vacation. The property manager arranged a driver and a cook and both were outstanding. The property has stunning views and easy access to rail, within walking distance of fine restaurants and the privacy all renters seek. If you are visiting the south of France and you want to be a short distance from all things and a short train ride to Cannes and Nice, you cannot do better than this property and you will not find a better property manager. If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

We have spend a wonderful holiday at the villa. The villa is ideal, spacious and nicely decorated. The children loved the pool and the table tennis table! It is an ideal base to visit the region. The market in Pézenas should not be missed. We have driven a boat, ridden horses and hired bikes in Marseillan and seen flamingoes! Dream holiday. Thank you again for your kindness and hospitality. Where do I start?! Truly one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed. The property sits in a stunning location with beautiful mountain views yet is just a short drive from Limoux which offers everything you might need. It’s also a very easy and short drive to Carcassonne with all of its shops and attractions (and international airport). Close to beautiful Mediterranean coastline, the rugged Montagne Noir and the wonderful Pyrenees, there are too many amazing sights to list (or to see in one holiday)... if you can drag yourself away from Domaine de Nérige that is. The property itself is far beyond adequate description in words or photographs. It is utterly magical. Every aspect of the house itself and the experience it offers has been carefully and lovingly thought through by the hosts and the result is exceptional. It’s certainly not easy to achieve both elegance and comfort but they have, masterfully. As well as being entirely beautiful, the accommodation is impressively spacious- we stayed as two families over five of the bedrooms, but had we filled all bedrooms it would have felt no less spacious because of its clever and generous arrangement. It’s perfectly appointed, with an incredible kitchen with every gadget and utensil you could possibly want, an outdoor dining area with gas bbq and hot plate, luxurious towels and linen (including towels for the pool), music player, DVDs, outdoor games (table tennis, swing ball, table football, pétanque), pool table room and then there’s the swimming pool! An immaculately kept pool terrace with sun loungers, wooden pergola and even an outdoor shower. The swimming pool was fabulous for adults and children alike, being large enough for swimming lengths but also with a shallow end for the children. Kept as meticulously as the rest of the property, the pool is cleaned every morning. The hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming from beginning to end. Due to travel disruptions we had to change the dates of our stay several times and the hosts were so accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Before we arrived Sandie had even arranged to do a grocery shop for us! She was also kind enough to arrange for a therapist to come to the house during our stay so we could have a much needed massage! I think it’s indicative of just how special this place is that everyone in our party fell entirely in love with it, children and adults alike. We can’t wait to go back.
We found the holy trinity of travel in our first trip to the Dordogne in as much as our stay provided the perfect property, superb hosts and a wonderful location. Owners have renovated the property wonderfully by melding traditional Dordogne architecture with contemporary interior design that maintains the character of the property but also provides modern comforts. The location of the cottage combines a secluded rural position with easy access (5 minutes walk) to Thonac's 2 restaurants, shop and hotel bar. Similarly the main road through Thonac takes you through the picturesque Vezere valley with Montignac and our favourite Saint Leon only a few minutes drive. Médiéval Sarlat, Beynac and Domme are slightly further afield but still an easy journey. Caves to canoeing, troglodytes to trekking and food and drink aplenty are all easily accessible from Thonac and you really can make any sort of holiday from this property. Its magnificent!
An absolute gem of a house! We came here for a fortnight with a mixture of friends, family and even a cricket team (touring France). And we had the most delightful stay. It really feels like a luxurious home from home, with lovely comfortable furniture, beautiful spacious grounds, a first rate tennis court and pool and a beautiful 'bolet' (veranda) on which to sit and enjoy the local wine… Highly recommended!

It has been amazing seeing so many of our family enjoying being here in your beautiful château. All able to have fun together - it really is a wonderful place.
We had an excellent stay in March in this large, very well appointed and superbly equipped house to accommodate our group of 11 people. Beautiful amenities in the house, quality bedding and a paradise for children. With its large swimming pool, its two terraces and its numerous outdoor games, the area must be even more appreciated in the summer season. We highly recommend this rental, ideal for large families or groups of friends. We were able to discover an enchanting setting in the region. We enjoyed the calm and beauty of the surrounding countryside. Obviously, we couldn't resist the desire to taste the extraordinary local products (wines, gastronomy, etc.). An exceptional place in which we will return for a vacation.
Beautiful house - everything you could possibly need for a totally carefree and relaxing holiday. We loved it so much here we only ventured away from the property for 2 half days. Idyllic place. Very peaceful break had by all. Garlin is a lovely village. Great bakery for fresh bread and the essential Ecomarket. All in all, great location - awesome house that's been fitted out to a very high standard throughout and a wonderful, unspoilt part of France that we'd never been to before.
We had 2 nights at Le Château de La Loire and were delighted with every aspect of our stay. The accommodation was beautifully appointed and there were several equally beautiful places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The setting overlooking the loire was stunning and the adjoining street art park was an unexpected treat. We loved the pool and spa area and were fortunate to have it to ourselves a couple of times. We would love to return some day.

Memories: The views from the house. The wind, like a freight train through the mountains! Wednesday night pizza van. Minerve – nice and quiet (La Terrasse for eats). The front shower – I want this in my house! The fridge/freezer – cold water and ice on tap – something else we'd want in our house. Lazy days by the pool with a pot of coffee and a book. Villa Lavinière has everything we needed, and more. What a lovely house. Definitely one we'd come back to and recommend to friends.
