From the moment we walked through the doors of Maison Charvin we knew that this was the perfect house for our holiday – the squeals of delight from the grandchildren (and their parents) at the sight of the pool and the surrounding garden suggested that the house would more than meet the requirements of all three generations of the family – it did this in spades. Owner Ms W attention to details and her anticipation of all of our needs was very much appreciated, as was her additional assistance in dealing with the local mechanic (flat tyre) and dentist (broken tooth) which was above and beyond the call of duty and will not be forgotten – many thanks. We had a wonderful holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending Maison Charvin to family and friends.
We rented Château Savigny for the Pentecost weekend with 5 families. The castle has 5 large bedrooms with annexes for children who are very appreciated. Downstairs, the living and the kitchen are very large. The estate is gigantic and stunning. We were hosted very well and the host was always available. Lots of play for the kids available. Finally the pool not even heated was a real treat for 3 days for the children. I recommend the estate to everyone, you will have an extraordinary stay.
My family had a fantastic 3-week holiday in La Barde, a beautifully renovated farmhouse. So fantastic, in fact, that we secured a repeat booking for the following year prior to departing. We found the property extremely spacious, sympathetically renovated, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for family day-to-day living. The securely gated pool is perfect for children and we all looked forward to cooling off there each afternoon after exploring the various local food markets and other wonderful excursions. The pool is actually quite large, which meant that the keener members of our party could exercise properly and swim lengths whilst the rest of us happily relaxed and drank local wines. The shallow end is ideal for young children to play or practice their swimming and there is a slightly separate paddling pool which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is a barn area with a large BBQ, which we used most evenings, a ping pong table and lots of lawn games. The courtyard, lawn and gardens are obviously lovingly cared for and just beautiful. La Barde is the perfect setting for children to play and for family and friends to relax, talk, eat and drink. Helen and John gave us a warm welcome and were happy to help with any information we needed. They kindly shared some delicious fruit from their garden with us, which we very much enjoyed cooking and eating. We think this is the perfect place for groups of friends or families to holiday together and celebrate special occasions (it would be an amazing place to host a wedding or spend Christmas) because the size and the layout of the house and grounds mean there is plenty of space for more than one family to be together as well as enough space to have privacy. The location is ideal in terms of exploring the Dordogne. We would highly recommend booking this property any time of the year. We couldn’t believe our luck and can’t wait to return again this summer!

I just wanted to say that we all found your house to be absolutely lovely. Everything we could have hoped for. So many nice touches, you clearly put a lot of thought and no doubt effort into making it a very special place. This house was fantastic! Inside it was like a show home, beautifully designed. The kitchen was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The garden was well laid out with direct access to the shaded dining area, under the trees for shade and the pool. The views were stunning over the valley and the sunsets were breath-taking. A walk down to the dam is recommended where you can take adip in the river, too. We made trips to the sea which is circa 60 min and to local villlages. The local village is 5 min drive and has a friendly store well stocked, a café and newsagent. There is a litle van which pulls up at approx 10 am which sells bread and pastries. We would definitely recommend this house.
Wonderful House - fantastically equipped! We really appreciated the fans in the hot weather! The games room was superb - hardly saw the kids all week! Your recommendations in the purple pages were great. A very tasty trip to Royan for some seafood. Sitting on the terrace, looking over the views was beautiful.
We had a fantastic 2 week holiday in this beautiful house with amazing surroundings! We visited several picturesque villages. Spent some lovely days and evenings around the pool and BBQ's. Totally relaxing!

We had the most wonderful time at Villa La Baronne. I think our children spent most of their time in the pool. Beautifully decorated house with plenty of space for all our family.
The house and the grounds are fantastic. The rooms were all spacious and we particularly appreciated the bedroom set up with interlinking rooms from the nursery. We really enjoyed exploring the grounds and went for walks/runs. The children loved exploring the forest area. The swimming pool was fantastic. Loungers etc comfortable. The kids loved the swings etc and the playroom was well stocked. Everything we needed was here. The food was delicious and we really appreciate you taking into account the intolerances. We have all enjoyed staying in your magnificent Maison Richelieu. The house and village of Richelieu is a wonderful location for exploring the Loire Valley which we have all done. The décor of the maison is fantastic and we have taken ideas with us for what we can do in our own houses when we return home. Thank you again for our time here!

Fantastic house in a lovely town. The property is extensive, nicely modernised and very well maintained. We visited with three children and they had plenty of room. The pool is AMAZING and they jumped in and out of that very happily. The outside terrace on the upper floor is a lovely place to lounge or eat - and the BBQ is a very good feature. In all we had a WONDERFUL time!

We had managed to get around to quite a few of the places you recommended and had some very nice meals in Pézenas and Neffiès. Hope to be back at some point.
Wonderful holiday in this beautiful and stylish home! The house has been refurbished to a very high specification and the bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are luxuriously contemporary. The kitchen is impressively well equipped. There is so much to do in the area which is steeped in history and blessed with natural beauty. The Roman ruins at Vaison are a must- see. We were amazed to find the largest archaeological site in France just down the road and the medieval town, on the other side of the river, with its winding streets, is charming. We found it hard to tear ourselves away from the stunning views and the peace and tranquility of the gardens and pool but outings to the hilltop villages of Seguret and Venasque and a wine tasting in Gigondas or Châteauneuf du Pape are experiences not to be missed!
Beautiful and very well kept. A lots of thought had gone into creating a family holiday home. facilities very good, all that was needed and more. So child friendly and safe. Hope we can come again. Many thanks for a wonderful week.
This lovely rural farmhouse provided plenty of space for our extended family of 6 adults and 3 children (aged 13 and 4) to spend a relaxing week in a more peaceful area of the Dordogne. The pool was a huge hit with adults and children alike whilst the many outside areas allowed space for both sun or shade throughout the day. In addition to games described there are lots of toys for younger children including a new sandpit which ‘appeared’ whilst we were there. Would recommend.
