My wife and rented Maison Rohmer for a month. the owner who lives in London was accessible by phone, she was absolutely fantastic, very helpful and was there for us by telephone if we had any questions. the location is in the country, very quiet and in a great location for discovering Luberon, hill towns, scenes to sketch and paint, some level dedicated bike trails for bike riding (can rent in Coustellet), so all in all a wonderful experience, the inside of the home was very comfortable, sizeable rooms, great shower, so now hesitation whatever to anyone who is looking for a place in the country side with a pool.
We recently stayed for two weeks at this beautiful house and were overwhelmed by its beauty and setting. The house is spacious and extremely well furnished with everything you could possibly need for a fantastic relaxing break. A lot of care and thought has gone into the decor and furnishings giving a real homely feel. Fresh flowers in the rooms added to the warmth of our welcome by Frederic, the house manager and Elisabeth and Marian had ensured that everything was immaculate. The town of Duras is close by and we enjoyed the Monday morning markets as well as trips to Bordeaux (by train from Marmande), St Emilion and the wonderful Château de Fayolle where we had an amazing lunch, vineyard tour and wine tasting. This is a beautiful part of France where we have made many happy memories and hope to return one day. Our thanks to the team at Maison Baleyssagues for making our visit so special. Worthy of mention is local driver Mark Pope who provided transport for us during our trip. He needs to be pre- booked but will get you where you need to go if you don't want to drive!
We have spent a short yet sweet time in Maison Saint-Julien. It was a perfect place to stay and we couldn’t ask for much more! Main highlights were chilling by the pool and enjoying a dusk on the top deck. A drink in the little bar on the town square was perfect.
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your house. We did have a great time here with our kids. The weather was splendid. We did enjoy the pool, the garden and the whole mansion. We managed to do some sightseeing. We will remember the stay for a long time and we hope to come back here in the future. Thank you one more time for everything.
Wonderful House - fantastically equipped! We really appreciated the fans in the hot weather! The games room was superb - hardly saw the kids all week! Your recommendations in the purple pages were great. A very tasty trip to Royan for some seafood. Sitting on the terrace, looking over the views was beautiful.
We have had a fantastic week on holiday. This house is in an amazing position with panoramic views in all directions. Enjoyed cooking and relaxing in the pool. Thank you for having such a comfortable well equipped house. We did not need for anything. A great choice of cycling routes. We hope to return.

We have just spent 2 very enjoyable weeks at Villa Montplaisir. The villa is equipped to a very high standard and Thierry was informative and helpful throughout our stay. The apricot tree kept us well supplied with fresh fruit each morning... delicious. The town centre is only a 10 minute walk and offers a variety of bars and restaurants to suit most tastes. There is a market 3 times a week which has the usual buzz and good choice of fresh food stalls. We would recommend the villa as a very good base to visit both the coast and hinterland.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maison Gounou (August 2025). There were seven of us from the same extended family, aged from thirteen to sixty-two, plus two small dogs. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how quiet and peaceful the location was, which coming from south London was a real blessing. Although the house is situated on a small road, passing cars were extremely rare. We met some of the local neighbours when out dog walking, and they were pleasant and friendly. The house is beautiful and comfortable, very picturesque with a large gravelled driveway for several cars. We could close the iron gates to keep the dogs inside, which was useful. The pool was exceptionally clean, very refreshing and well maintained. The kitchen was equipped with plenty of pots of pans for large-scale cooking, including many le Creuset dishes. The rooms were spacious, the bedrooms comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms and toilets for everyone. Bedding was changed half way through our two-week visit. The surrounding area is full of old bastide towns with markets and medieval buildings, outdoor evening dining events, medieval fairs, artisan shops . Although it was thriving, nowhere felt too busy or stressful. We found lots of places to eat including a lovely restaurant in Monpazier (Privilege du Perigord) that served a tasty three-course lunch for 23 euros. Highlights of the stay: peace and tranquillity, ability to let go and relax. Lovely veranda to sit and read/relax/fall asleep, lots of books to look at, lovely sitting room. More than enough space for seven people and two dogs. Lovely local towns to stroll around.

Our stay was fantastic. I highly recommend this property. It is in pristine condition and everything is new. The sheets, towels and mattresses are luxurious. The house is very modern inside with all the comforts of a city home. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The house was impeccable. The pool is fantastic and the outdoor entertaining area is large and has great facilities. It is only a short walk to the town of Monségur. Here you can find a supermarket and local market. Christophe was always available to assist us with anything we needed. He answered our calls immediately. I highly recommend this property.
We could not have made a better decision than to come to Villa La Baronne to spend the end of the year. The house is magnificent, the location unbeatable both for the surroundings (the river, the forest, the small towns...) and the proximity to Toulouse. The house has the services you expect and much more. An excellent experience that I hope we can repeat again. Thanks to Isabelle and Philippe for offering Villa La Baronne guests a five-star stay. My husband and I had a perfect week. (23rd to 29th of June 2025z Florence was the best host. The barn was just stunning. The photos really don’t do it justice. The facilities were among the best we’ve had. We have been going to Dordogne for 30 years with our family. This property with all the required amenities (and I mean ALL) was above and beyond what we were expecting. Florence had thought of everything even down to some very special luxury spa products. Hair products (including straighteners!. We were warmly welcomed with a smile and more than sufficient welcome pack. All that we needed for evening and the following morning. Including wine! She really was the best owner we have met. It was such a pleasure meeting her and staying for the perfect week in her beautiful barn. We had an invited evening with aperitifs in the garden. Delightful company. All the health and safety information was given to us on arrival with a phone number we could call at anytime, for anything. The pool was absolutely perfect. We had a huge choice of entertainment from games, books, music but we were just amazed that this including Netflix!! Perfect for an evening relaxing on the very comfortable couches. Eymet is also just 15 minutes drive away and has a very good range of exceptional restaurants, cafes and boutiques, antique shops etc. A beautiful historic town. We really can’t rate Florence and her wonderful accommodation highly enough. Our sincere thanks go to her for helping to make our peaceful week away from it all. So very memorable. I forgot to add our absolute joy of having air con all around the house!!!! The icing on the cake!!! Thanks again
The villa was absolutely stunning and located in a quiet location as mentioned in the description (the only noise being crickets but that was soothing). The lay out of the house in 3 separate buildings really worked for our extended family group, additionally different areas in the garden in which you could sit enabled people to have some quiet time if needed. I would recommend the restaurants in the village, although be aware they don't open on a Monday. A very enjoyable and restful stay.
We arrived late afternoon and were met by Yvonne who gave us a lovely tour of this beautiful stunning house, such a lovely welcome. I love all of the lovely antique finds in all of the rooms from the hats in the master bedroom to the old magazines to the pram in the barn. Everything has been thought of here we really didn't need a thing. Would really recommend a trip to La Rochelle but you would need to leave early it really does get very busy. We have been truly spoilt staying here. Impeccably clean and tidy, we have loved every minute. We'd love to come back.
The house is magnificent and lends itself to perfect moments of sharing. Its cozy side, its very complete equipment invite us to enjoy every moment. The rooms offer independence and great comfort. The whole family loved it. The view is magnificent at any time and the terrace becomes a pure joy with the first ray of sunshine. The surroundings have nothing to envy of Tuscany and this gentle way of life! Sandie and David were very friendly and met all our expectations. We will come back with pleasure.
We all had an amazing time here this week, this house is gorgeous with an amazing pool, fantastic views. We had amazing times at Les Chapoux taking in the beautiful buildings and all the nice restaurants. The hosts were welcoming and gave us a lovely tour of the house. We spent two weeks here last summer with 4 adults and one child. The accommodations are first rate and the house well air conditioned. The AC was very important to us as we are accustomed to it in the hot summers and it made such a BIG difference. The pool and environment very secluded and very clean with pool service provided. We loved the outdoor terrace and spent every evening viewing the stars and morning coffees were enjoyed every day, too. Interiors lovely and kitchen we'll-equipped. We are so looking forward to staying here again with our friends from the UK who are happy to join us again. Delightful soujourn and a short walk to town for our daily bread and Friday markets are a big event. You should not miss staying here if you get the chance; we have stayed elsewhere and this is the best. Oh... Wi-Fi works and is always an essential for us wherever we travel in the world.
La Barde is much more than a holiday house - a real home beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean and with a spacious, well equipped kitchen which was a pleasure to cook in. The host made us feel really welcome and went out of her way to provide everything we needed from the clear maps she sent to help us find the house to finding out about kayaking for us and even bringing us plenty of extra games and dvd's when the rain came down on our second day. In spite of the weather we really enjoyed the pool in its beautiful setting and the boys enjoyed playing football in the meadow. The gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed exploring and walking through to the lane and up to the small bar in the village. We hired bikes which were delivered and picked up and it was a great way to explore the surrounding countryside and villages. We all hope to go back next summer, there is so much in the area still to see though if the sun shone I don't think we would want to leave the garden and swimming pool! Thank you for a really memorable holiday.
We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Lavinière! The pool was fantastic, the views were beautiful and the surroundings were peaceful and relaxing. Despite the heat, we slept wonderfully thanks to the air conditioning. In a sentence: Simply lovely!
At the end of a long and busy vacation in France, the property was a beautiful place to relax. The grounds and pool are perfect, the owners were friendly and helpful. Very clean, well appointed, comfortable. Close enough to go where we wanted along the Côte d'Azur, but peaceful when we wanted to relax. One week was not enough. Will definitely return here if we travel to France again.
Went to this beautiful holiday cottage for the second time. What a great experience again this time. We were warmly welcomed and our house felt like coming home again. Host and hostess Leo and Esther gave us great tips so that our holiday became a great experience again. The visit to Nîmes was impressively beautiful. I especially recommend visiting Avignon to everyone with its beautiful center and the cozy terraces around the market square. The swimming pool overlooking the vineyards is a pearl. The silence descends on you wonderfully in the evening. Truly unique. Thank you for another great holiday.
Our party of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) had a great week at this property, There was plenty of space for everyone and the property looked exactly as pictured. The house stayed cooler than expected during the 40 degree temperatures (due to the very thick stone walls and roof, no doubt) and the pool was wonderful. Our contact Florence met us on arrival to show us everything and was available to answer questions during the week. We enjoyed the Sainte-Geniès market and explored Sarlat-la-Canéda.
