The house is beautiful - amazing views, wonderful pool, very comfortable beds. We had a fantastic time - didn't see as much of the area as planned - as everyone so happy playing in pool!
Superb contemporary villa surrounded by a very large and beautiful garden, dream pool, fish pond to relax or to occupy the little ones. Eva and her friend Audrey are very kind and we are very well received and well advised on local visits and activities! We thank you again for everything.
Our party of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) had a great week at this property, There was plenty of space for everyone and the property looked exactly as pictured. The house stayed cooler than expected during the 40 degree temperatures (due to the very thick stone walls and roof, no doubt) and the pool was wonderful. Our contact Florence met us on arrival to show us everything and was available to answer questions during the week. We enjoyed the Sainte-Geniès market and explored Sarlat-la-Canéda.
We have had a wonderful relaxing week at Le Malardier. The house is stunning and photographs do not do it justice. We loved watching the sun rise, taking in the view with our morning coffee. The pool and pool house have been enjoyed by all. Leisurely lunches in the outdoor dining area and a game of boules in the evening. Many thanks to Richard and Gay who have been so helpful and superb hosts.
A beautiful property in a nice quiet location but still close to many interesting places to visit. The bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable and there was a lovely covered eating area outside. We also really loved the pool. We especially enjoyed canoeing on the Dordogne and visiting Domme and Le Jardin Marqueyssac. We also left something behind which Victoire kindly sent on to us.
Without a doubt, this is the most peaceful and relaxing holiday we have ever had. Such a beautiful setting with everything we needed - even to keep our 3 boys entertained. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.
This is our 7th visit to the Dordogne and at least the 6th rental at "Cordeliers" Thank you Jackie and Geoff for buying this property and continuing to allow lucky people like us to stay here. We always love a long lunch at Le Vieux Logis in Trémolat, lovely drive. We stopped at Limeuil on the confluence of the Vézère Dordogne rivers to see another lovely village with a stony beach. Book a table under the plane trees in the garden, easy to book as all the reception staff speak English. This trip we visited the gardens of Eyrignac which we saw 20 years ago-much changed and lovely but Marqueyssac are still our favourite gardens with its cliff top views to Castelnaud, Beynac, Fayrac châteaux and the town of La Roque Gageac. Don't miss Lascaux IV, book online - this time we did it last minute and got in at 3.30pm English tour, great for all ages, especially the children as they get their own laptop! Buy your foie gras and confit of duck at the E Le Clerc supermarket - much cheaper and great quality, rather than paying extortionate prices in Sarlat. A lovely drive if you are interested in Bastide towns is to start in Belvès, worth a quick look for its 11th century centre and 15th covered market. Then onto Monpazier, Biron, Château Biron and finally Monflanquin, a great place for lunch (park at the top of the hill next to Église St André). Of course Rocamadour and Padirac caves are another must and if you feel like a big day out add Colonges La Rouge to the itinerary. When visiting Rocamadour, enter from the top, drive past all the parking costing 5euro or so and head to the well signposted "Le Chateau" parking which has 500 places and is free. Take the lift "Ascenseur" down into the town, buy the more expensive ticket to go all the way to the bottom of Rocamadour town, see the Sanctuaries, churches, walk up into town. Afterwards take the lift back up to the car and walk to the Ramparts. MARKET DAYS: Monday: Beynac, Les Eyzies (small one on the river) Tuesday: Le Bugue - highly recommend Wednesday: Sarlat and Saint-Cyprien Thursday: Domme and Monpazier Friday: La Roque-Gageac Saturday: Sarlat Sunday: Carnac, Limeuil and Saint-Cyprien (highly recommended) On Wednesday evenings from late June to mid August Belvès has a night food stall market which is fun, bring your own cutlery, glasses and nice plates if you don't want to eat off paper. Wine shop - an excellent wine shop, no more expensive than the supermarkets with great advice from English speakers is in Les Eyzies - Vin Blanc Rouge, 3 Ave de la Préhistoire.
We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from the owners Caterina and Steve, for whom nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed in many lovely places over the years but this place is truly special and a perfect little gem... the interior is beautifully presented with many thoughtful touches, from the fresh flowers to the fragrance sticks... Caterina keeps the place fresh and immaculate, a home from home! Steve works hard to keep the pool and the grounds in tip top condition, which we really appreciated. We had been staying with family in nearby Sarlat prior to our arrival which was rather hectic and we were looking forward to relaxing and having some 'chill Tim'... for sheer relaxation and tranquility this place is hard to beat, in a fab location and we would return in a flash!

We have had an amazing time in this wonderful house. We even had a home for our much loved cars. Many thanks to Mike and Natalie for looking after us so well. I am sure we will return!

We had an excellent stay in this beautiful house, charming and perfectly equipped. The swimming pool is very pleasant, the rooms to live and the rooms offer a very comfortable atmosphere. We were won over.
Our stay at the Marquises has been perfect, the house was everything we hoped for, thank you. We loved the views over the vineyards, the furnishings, the pool and the fig tree, for shade and figs.
Fab house! What a lovely property! Lots of space. We were a big family group, mixed ages. The pool was a godsend as the weather was tres chaud! Beautiful sunsets. The place was very well equipped. The owner was very communicative and helpful to my queries. Nothing was too much trouble. Really nice to receive some wine and coffee on arrival too. What a wonderful holiday we have had! Weekend with friends. We had a pleasant stay. David and Kirstie's house is beautiful. The environment is very calm and relaxing. The house is very large, the rooms are spacious, the bedding comfortable. Each room is equipped with a bathroom. David and Kirstie are very attentive and available hosts. I recommend.
What can I say but awesome. We all arrived at the same time to drive up the long drive to the picturesque château. Obviously we had seen pictures but they did not do it justice. We were met with a glass of bubbly and were shown around the property. It was like being shown around a personal home rather than a holiday rental property. There was everything you could want for a relaxing holiday for our two families, including a tennis court, swimming pool, snooker / pool table, croquet set and the all important ice machine as we were in the middle of a heat wave. All the rooms were luxurious with all but one bedroom (which had it's own bathroom) having ensuite bathrooms and the two main bedrooms having dressing rooms as well. The grounds were spectacular and there was even gorgeous little chapel. The best endorsement I can give is that we were all discussing how we could come back next year. We spent 2 very good weeks in the house. The rental corresponds exactly to the photos published on the site and it was very clean when we arrived. The owners provided us with a wide description of the house, people to contact in case of concerns, visits to do allowing us to spend our stay in peace. The owner is easily reachable; an agent is on site in case of problems and a person is responsible for the maintenance of the pool every 3 to 4 days. The house is ideal for 2 couples with children because there are bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the ground floor and upstairs. We highly recommend this rental and thank Terry and Carol for the welcome.
The house is beautiful, very high spec interiors but still retaining the authentic exterior of a rural French barn. The pool was amazing – especially during a hot week in June. Danielle was a brilliant host – she provided us with everything we needed and more! Surrounding area was lovely – amazing markets and pretty villages. Overall couldn’t have asked for a nicer week away.

Seven days of swimming, rounders, running, races, hide and seek and much more have delivered a break to remember, especially for the kids! And that, of course, makes a holiday for the adults. P.S. We saw a deer!
What a beautiful location, breathtaking. A very warm welcome, you feel at home because of the fine reception. The hosts help you with everything you could want. The gîte is also spick and span and meets all your needs. Had a very relaxing holiday. Exactly as it should be! We recommend it to everyone and will definitely come here again.
