Made in France; Air France; a history of uniforms

The first commercial air hostess uniforms in the 1930s resembled nurses' uniforms. They were designed to reassure customers embarking on voyages on the then still relatively new mode of transport. Later, the uniforms borrowed motifs from the military and cruise liners. Over the years, the uniforms of Air France have been a constant symbol of French elegance.

Made in France; Renault Alpine

Alpine is a French automobile manufacturer, owned by the Renault group. The company was created in Dieppe, in Normandy, in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, at the time Renault dealer. He made a remarkable breakthrough in the sports automobile sector. Seventeen years after the end of production of the last Alpine model, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault, announced on November 5, 2012 the rebirth of Alpine2.

A Month of Impressionism - Art Festival

Bac Nord - a new film set in Marseille

Here's a new film, recently shown at the Cannes Film Festival in July. The northern districts of Marseille hold a sad record: the area with the highest crime rate in France. Driven by its hierarchy, the BAC Nord, a field brigade, constantly seeks to improve its results. In a high-risk sector, the cops adapt their methods, sometimes crossing the yellow line. Adieu au magnifique Belmondo

The iconic French actor, Jean-Paul Belmondo has died at the age of 88. The actor died at his home in Paris, his lawyer Michel Godest said. Belmondo burst onto the silver screen in the 1950s, but made his name during the next decade's New Wave of titles including "Breathless" and "The Man from Rio". Over his 50-year career, Bébel, as he is known in France, appeared in 80 movies, starring in both popular and auteur films and working under a variety of major French directors, from Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard to Claude Lelouch.

Cinéma Le Colisée in Carcassonne

Amphoralis, the museum of pottery

The Sallèles antique pottery workshop dating back to the start of the High Romain Empire was a site where a huge volumes of clay pottery was produced. Situated near the Canal du Midi not far from the village of Sallèles-d'Aude, excavations began in 1976 and the Amphoralis museum designed by Roland Castro and Jean-Pierre Gary opened its doors to the public in December 1992.

Villefranche-sur-Mer and The Rolling Stones

Villefranche-sur-Mer is undoubtedly the prettiest and most charming of the smaller towns on the Cote dAzur. Falling from the hills to the seafront and its beautiful bay, Villefranche sits comfortably between Monaco and the Italian border. Like Cannes in the late 19th century and early 20th century, Villefranche was a poular winter destination for royalty and wealthy visitors.
