Unique castle atmosphere beautiful ambience with period partly antique furniture and china. Great pool.
A lovely base for our 2 weeks! The outside covered area + kitchen were great. We spent most of our stay set there watching the amazing wildlife! We saw deer, lizards, hawks + even got to see the baby birds nesting over the door to the outside loo leave the nest! Monflanquin was beautiful! Cathy + Stéphane were lovely + we loved watching Stéphane's 2 CV car driving around! Thank you.
Very nice stay at the Palaisienne. The house is well equipped, pretty, clean and above all very suitable for children, so nothing but happiness for parents. The owner is very kind and available for all our questions. We only have to thank you for this wonderful vacation.

We are regular visitors to the area but this was our visit to Villa Colline. The Villa is beautifully appointed and furnished to a very high standard, with the kitchen particularly having every appliance you could possibly need. The bedrooms are very spacious with private balconies and the aircon throughout the villa is a must in the French summer months. Outdoor the furniture is of a excellent (the nicest outdoor furniture I think we have ever used) and the front terrace benefits the sun for the whole day. There was so many outdoor terraces and seating areas, that we didn’t get chance to use all of them in our 2 weeks, but the main one was very spacious for us all to use. The BBQ was a Webber and very easy to use and came with spare gas bottles As regular visitors to the area we usually have the frustration of parking in Collioure and the traffic in and out as the season get busy, but as the Villa is only a 10 minute walk into Collioure, we were able to pop in and as we wanted which made the holiday even more relaxing. I would highly recommend this villa for anyone wanting a modern, well equipped, well maintained villa with easy access to Collioure
We have had the most magical time here in your beautiful home. Happy memories that we will treasure.
An excellent week with the family with the little ones (2, 5, 9 years old) and adults who have enjoyed the swimming pool, the games, table tennis, volleyball... the barbecue and the many possibilities offered by the house for lunch, dinner and rest. The surrounding villages offer evening walks where you can meet producers and taste local specialties (foie gras, duck breasts, wines...). Many châteaux to visit and canoeing on the Dordogne. A good stay in a beautiful region.
It is just as fabulous here in October as it was in June. The weather was much better than we expected, and we went to a couple of new places. We love the Library and Kitchen in the main house and look forward to seeing it all complete. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for joining us to share our wedding anniversary lunch at La Cambuse de Saunier. We can't wait for next June, when we will again be back.
It has been amazing seeing so many of our family enjoying being here in your beautiful château. All able to have fun together - it really is a wonderful place.
We had a lovely stay with 14 adults and 4 little ones (10 months - 3 years). For starters, the pool: big enough, seats for everyone and enough shadow. The patio: magnificent view, spacious, enough shadow under the big tree and a covered dining space with both a BBQ and a plancha where we had all our meals. The house: perfect to our needs. Bedrooms with space for beds for the kids, almost every room had a private bath room and more than enough space. We had two days with bad weather, no problem we split up in groups where one group could play one of the available board games and another one playing the available PS and another one playing together with the little ones. The kitchen had everything and there was an extra toilet for use during the day. On top of this, there was a nice pétanque range, ping pong table, pool table, basket ring with all supplies available, more than enough parking space (we had 7 cars).
It is with a heavy heart that this 3-generation family are leaving this wonderful and magical place! We have spent a week here and we all agree that it was not long enough! Where do I begin? The château itself is truly gorgeous and to be lucky enough to stay in one with magnificent views is a dream come true. We have stayed in many places over the years and can see that a lot of thought has gone into making this such a comfortable holiday place for all, including tiny children. We hope to come back! In the meantime many thanks to Henrietta for all her help pre- and during our stay. She even organised the purchase of a new cot for our 3 year old grandson. Very thoughtful and well beyond the call of duty.
We had a wonderful time at Château du Pic de Rigaud - as our five year old said 'I'd like to stay for forever, or maybe two...
In June, we stayed for a fortnight at La Picholine. In the middle of the vineyards. Plenty of peace, space and beautiful views. The pool is great and beautiful views there too.
The apartment is incredibly cool and offers a breathtaking view from the large balcony. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, which suited us very well. We will definitely go back. It is good to know that there is no grocery store in the immediate vicinity. It is recommended to have a car if you do not choose to do your daily exercise in connection with your purchases. :)
We has the most amazing time at Domaine du Château! The pictures do not do the beautiful property justice, on site and surrounding areas very well kept and very quintessential, especially views during afternoon pool time! Each room is very comfortable and luxuriously appointed. Great thought went into unique details of each room and space and privacy for a large group. The best part of the whole experience was the wonderful staff, who produced incredible meals for us and made sure that our every need was met. It was a vacation that we will not soon forget. Wonderful stay and would recommend this property to anyone who wanted to immerse into the French wine country.
We have just stayed at this stunning house, It has everything. Peace, and lovely views, from a sensationally restored old barn. All comforts to make for a memorable stay, include air conditioning, a brand new pool, fully fitted kitchen and all made even better in meeting the owner Florence who lives next door. Easy shopping at the Supermarkets was only a 10 minute drive away, made for a great location. Thank you indeed Florence, have a successful summer and be reassured, you will have many other happy visitors still to come.
The house is great. Lovely warm pool, table tennis table, huge grounds, lovely area, lots of culture nearby, nice local town with excellent market.

The holiday and house was fantastic and we really want to book for next year.
Fantastic stay - group of 10 adults and 10 children. Great set up to keep both groups well entertained and some additional surprises like a play area next to one of the outside eating areas. Sports hall and pool both huge, the later keeping us cool in the hot afternoons. The owners also helped us arrange a local cook to cater on some evenings and also a local wine producer to do a wine tasting.
Fantastic time in this great house and location. 2 weeks of rest, relaxation and fun with the kids and extended family. Thank you. What a wonderful place! So much for the kids to do - swimngs, slide, trampoline, swimming and may runing races, lots of yumy wines and cheese. Two scrumptious meals cooked by Tim and Ali. Very tempted to return next year! My family and I had a glorious 2 weeks at Maison Charvin. What a fantastic holiday we had. The directions to find the house were straightforward and easy to follow. The house was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need which was a very welcome relief after the long drive. As a keen cook, my partner enjoyed cooking up delicious meals for us throughout our time there. My children absolutely fell in love with the house (they each enjoyed having their own rooms!) and with the pool and didn't want to leave! Highlights from our holiday include: Walking around the beautiful walled city of Carcassonne Climbing up to the ruins of Château de Queribus, one of the Cathar Castles, set on top of one of the highest peaks in the Pyrenees. Breath-taking views and well worth the effort! A once in a lifetime meal at l'Auberge du Vieux Puits, a 3 Michelin star restaurant in Fontjoncouse. Only a 30 minute drive from Mason Charvin. La Franqui – what a fabulous beach. Lovely sea front restaurants and shops. Definitely worth a visit! The pool! The wine! And last but by no means least, Sharon. A fantastic host who continually went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our holiday. I cannot rate her highly enough and hope to one day return to Montlaur and Maison Charvin! Thank you, Sharon for sharing your beautiful home and for all that you did for us.
We've had a great time and we’ve especially enjoyed the pool, as the temperature has barely dropped below 30°C day or night for the week due to the canicule. Our favorites: Best boulangerie: Andralie in Monflanquin, just beyond the Gendarmerie on the road to Villeneuve. There is an Auchan hypermarket just beyond on the same road. Best market: (Sunday) Issigeac. Best night for: Sarlat (Wednesday's), Le Bugue also good (Tuesday's). Best for a visit and potter: Monpazier – old, beautiful and floral. Lots of artisan shops and a long fort (Château Biron). Also, fabulous marché nocturne in Tournon d’Agenais on Friday. We ate from (Gyp?) and enjoyed watching Olympics in cool shady areas.
We have enjoyed a lovely holiday, this beautiful home has been and absolute delight so comfortable and peaceful. Enjoying lunch outside in your splendid garden has been a favourite past-time.
Fabulous house accommodating everyone in comfort, superb location and fantastic views. The family particularly enjoyed the warm pool and al fresco dining. Lorraine who greeted us was super friendly and helpful, responding quickly when we had questions. Highly recommend this property
Superb house that has preserved the charm of yesteryear. The exteriors are beautiful with a huge garden and woods adjacent to it. We had a very relaxing stay with our friends and children. Wonderful stay, 5 children and 8 adults all found happiness. Bedroom, bathroom, very spacious living room as well as a pool terrace perfectly arranged for everyone and the little extra of an outdoor kitchen with barbeque. The proximity is very quiet, in the countryside but at a very correct distance to do activities. We thank the host for making this villa available for our holidays. We recommend without hesitation.
