Our Stay at Château Bellevue couldn’t have been more delightful and could not have been better appointed, the furnishings were gorgeous, the room proportions, very good, the views onto the grounds very relaxing and peaceful. Close by is the glamour and razzmatazz of Biarritz whilst the beautiful city of Bayonne is so handy for wonderful shopping and fabulous restaurants. The log fire was a great treat for cosy evenings. The tennis court and swimming pool makes the château a holiday centre in itself where you can while away days before realising that maybe you should explore a little further into the surrounding countryside, cities and world famous beaches.
I have stayed here with friends on several occasions and the tranquility and serenity is something to treasure. Maison Bourriette and gardens are furnished to the highest standard with a special courtyard enclosed in the original barn walls. The pool and surroundings cater for the most ardent sunbather or swimmer. The welcome you receive is personal and nothing is too much trouble, thus ensuring your best possible stay. From the house you are near to many interesting attractions dotted around the rolling countryside but if you don't want to leave the sanctuary of the house, then there are numerous delightful walks on the doorstep taking you through woods to small settlements or even into Montaigu for quality food and drink. I cannot wait to go back again!

We had a wonderful time at Vero and Thierry. The house is beautiful and very well decorated. The outdoor facilities are excellent and have everything you need. Because the weather was so nice we spent most of our time by the pool and ate all our meals there. There is a supermarket and two bakeries 5 km away and Poitiers is easily accessible for sightseeing and restaurants. We're already talking about going back. I highly recommend staying here.
Le Château de La Loire had a perfect location for exploring the Loire valley. It finds itself close to places such as Saumur, many beautiful castles, vine tastings, champignons farms and other highlights of that region. The hosts have been great and the place has all you need with pool, yoga lessons, massages services, excellent breakfast, quiet park and art exhibitions... we will come back!
The hosts have thought of every comfort. A fantastic base from which to explore this part of France. It was difficult to draw yourself away from the beautiful garden and pool. We stayed with them many times when they managed to create yet another little haven at their new base in France!
We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in France. We cannot recommend the property highly enough. It is very well equipped, the pool always warm and cleaned daily, in a great location and Jean, Martin and of course Tanner the dog so welcoming and helpful. This was our second time and already planning when we can return!
You beat me to it! I’d been meaning to email to say what an excellent time we’ve been having and to thank you for allowing us to use your wonderful home. It’s such a gorgeous spot, the weather has been perfect and we love the fact that the house feels like a much loved family home so thank you for sharing it with us. It is so well equipped and comfortable, with a lovely ambience - we are greatly enjoying relaxing and eating meals in all the different beautiful spots in the garden. No practical problems and everything seems in order. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
As per other reviews the house was great with stunning views. All the things you need to have a great holiday. The weather was still hot with some days in the mid 30s, so we took advantage of the swimming pool and relaxed around the house. The house is a great location for cycling, there is the obvious challenge of Mount Ventoux and there are some excellent roads in the surrounding area with stunning scenery. For those interested in wine then I would highly recommend Paul from Rhône wine tours. He came to the house and we did wine tasting with him and we learnt about wines of the Rhône valley, while the kids played in the pool. Great if you don't want to take a tour with kids at the winery.
The chalet: a real jewel in the heart of a magnificent valley, the spacious and sunny terrace with a breathtaking view. Games room, sauna and jacuzzi allowed us to spend very good times with family. Modern amenities make everyday life easier. The "artistic" decoration soothes the mind and opens to daydreaming.
Our family of 4 spend a perfect week in the lovely and nicely renovated gîte. House is spacious and well equipped. The outdoor area did not leave much to ask for with shady terrace, grill, a big green garden with a nicely furnished pavilion and not least the large and clean pool. Jean and Martin were there when needed, very helpful and made you feel at home. The small village Lauzun great for evening walks. This gîte can be recommended.
We are all having the most idyllic time here in your beautiful home - it is just perfect and so beautifully and tastefully presented - the weather is incredible and the pool in full use - we have visited Ilsle sur la Sourgue, Châteauneuf du Pap and the surrounding villages which are all charming - so all very well!
This is an amazing home where you can enjoy the utterly relaxed vacation. It is spacious, nicely decorated, well equipped and beautifully located. The pool , the pergola the kitchen and the bathrooms … everything is of a high standard and make the house feel like a proper home . 10 out 10.

Very pleasant typical house, each room has a shower/WC area which is a real plus, you feel very comfortable there, bright and friendly living room, very comfortable sofa, we didn't miss anything. The patio and pool area would require better maintenance to be at their best. The village is pretty, there is a bakery, for other amenities such as supermarket, gas station, only 5 minutes by car to Magalas. We recommend this accommodation.
Absolutely delicious property in a beautiful part of the world. The property is very well maintained and rustic. I can recommend to any group planning a stay in the Dordogne. Our stay was in mid April when the weather started to improve. 26 degrees on our last day, perfect!
We have had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. We appreciate how clean it was when we arrived (thanks Yvonne) and the wine. We love the decor and period furnishings. The pool and small barn were great. It was interesting to hear about the history and previous occupants of the house from Bob and Margaret, the English neighbours across the road. Thanks. We fell in love with holidaying in France almost 30 years ago and I used to think that my heart belonged to Provence, until we stumbled across beautiful Manoir de Fouilloux, nestled in the lush green countryside of the Dordogne. Hugh and Ian, the hosts of the house are incredibly welcoming and attentive, but equally unobtrusive when you just want to relax on your own. They are very knowledgeable about the area and will give you their time all day, every day should you so desire, along with Oscar, their lovely dog, who is very happy to be fussed over or left alone to sleep in the shade out of sight. The interior of the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It is evident from the moment you step through the door, that so much thought and attention to detail has gone into every corner of the building; from the beautiful stone floors, to the light filled bedrooms with the most sumptuous bed linen (and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on), to the fabulous showers and well equipped kitchen, every part of the house is simply brimming with everything you could ever need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From the stunning interior, you step outside to the rear courtyard garden, which is inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Moroccan garden and it's like nothing you could ever imagine. The vibrant blue that is unique to YSL garden has been matched exactly and is dotted around the garden with careful thought, creating a wonderfully calming area to relax in, with the magnificent tiled pond being the centrepiece of the area. Off the garden is the outdoor kitchen / seating area and again is a fantastically well thought out area, complete with it's own set of glass and tableware (so you don't have to keep going back into the kitchen to get things), outdoor gas barbecue and dishwasher, they really have thought of everything! It is truly the most tranquil place to spend time with family and friends. The pool at the front of the house is magnificent, complete with poolside lights, it is a fabulous place to enjoy in the evening too. Lying on the sun loungers soaking up the sun and looking out over the amazing garden is so restful; you'll never want to leave the house. But leave you must, as there is so much to see in the surrounding area; nearby St Aulaye has a pretty little town square where you can enjoy a relaxing drink, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, a beautiful medieval village dating back to the 11th Century, is so attractive with it's ochre coloured houses and the tranquil river Cole running through it. From Saint-Jean-de-Côle you can easily visit the caves at Villars; being a bit claustrophobic I declined to go down with the rest of the family, but they do come highly recommended! Another very pretty village is nearby Aubeterre, which has the most spectacular views, small selection of shops and restaurants dotted around a vibrant village square and at the foot of the village you can find a river beach, canoeing centre, football club and tennis club. Brantome is a charming town, often dubbed the Venice of Perigord, due to the river Dronne running through it. If you've ever read 'The Matchmaker of Perigord', you will find Brantôme mentioned in this and as you wander around the town, you can really see the characters come to life. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants so is definitely a worthy visit, even if you haven't read the book. Manoir de Fouilloux, is truly a magical place to stay, it is like coming up for fresh air. The only criticism I have of it is that once visited, you will never want to go anywhere ever again, so sorry guys, see you next year...
Our family of 7 adults (and a toddler) spent a blissful week here in August and we were all agreed that it was pretty well perfect for our family needs. We knew we were going to love it when Philippe showed us round then presented us with the welcome pack - by far the best we have ever received when renting a holiday home. His generosity throughout the week showed him to be an exceptional host in going the extra mile to make sure guests were happy and we very much appreciated this. The layout of the villa, as other reviews have detailed, is particularly good for adult groups as there are three separate buildings housing the bedrooms (all beautifully decorated) thereby giving space to retreat if necessary. Bear in mind, if you are four couples, that the pool house room is very compact compared to the other three bedrooms. We particularly loved the comfy outdoor furniture where we gathered in the evenings and the Moroccan seating area for peace and quiet. The pool is a good size and was used every day - of course - and the boys loved playing table tennis. We love to cook and found that the kitchen was very spacious with two sinks and a huge cooker. It was also so useful having a separate fridge / freezer in the pool house annexe as you so often find that there is not enough fridge space in villas. The barbecue area was just superb and used several times. There is lots to explore close by and we did venture out for an afternoon on the canal du midi but we loved the villa so much we pretty much stayed put - it just had everything we needed. The whole villa was clean, spacious and the furnishings were good quality. What an exceptional villa this is and thank you Philippe for being such a great host. We can't wait to go back.
